She's excited to host her family from Ohio this year — she's planned the perfect Christmas week. But they cancel last minute. So she's like, “Well, I guess I'll go to Cleveland!”But then she bumps into her neighbor Cooper, who's like, “Why should you give up your perfectly curated Christmas? Just stay. Embrace the singleness.” And she's like, “You know what?! I'm gonna do it!”It doesn't take long for her to feel a bit lonely and a bit silly. Luckily, there's Cooper. They start doing activities both together and separately. Like going to a fancy restaurant but sitting at separate tables. She also agrees to help him plan this charity event. They go to a Christmas mixer together and have fun, but she keeps getting little waves of sadness about being single. They watch Rudolph together and almost hold hands — but obviously that would be too much. She accompanies him to a family gathering, and it goes great. Part 2: Emily and Sam investigate deception surrounding a mysterious painting, revealing hidden motives and Emily's own secrets, while Violet makes a special gift.AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: MISTLETOE MURDERS – THE IDES OF DECEMBERNovember 14, 2025 | Hallmark Mystery ChannelCAST & CREW OF: MISTLETOE MURDERS – THE IDES OF DECEMBERSarah Drew as EmilyPeter Mooney as SamBRAN'S MISTLETOE MURDERS – THE IDES OF DECEMBER SYNOPSISThe movie kicks off with an art influencer live-streaming. We're at an art gallery for missing artist, Angela Wells. It's got a bunch of never-before-seen stuff that has been found by her granddaughter, Moira Wells. Famous Ray has funded this gallery. Classic Famous Ray.Emily walks into the diner and sees Sam. Violet is back at the Mistletoe and Emily is pumped. We see Sam's mentor and old partner, Reed, come in and give Sam a big ol hug. He's in town doing security for the art gallery.Reed gets there to accept some shipping for the gallery. The dude is running late and when he finally arrives, Reed looks terrified. Obviously, Sam discovers him dead the next day.Emily goes to the bookstore for Moira's book reading when a police officer comes and pulls her aside. They need her to identify if one of the paintings left behind is an authentic Angela Wells. She says it is.It doesn't take long for Emily to find out about Reed. She goes to check on Sam and obviously tries to find out if there are any suspects. He's looking at the security footage and he notices that the live streamer poking around the art house late at night.Sam brings him in for questioning. He says he came across someone with a gun and got out of there quick. The "Bad News Guy," Kyle, is heading out of town for the holidays but while he's still in town, has a flirty fun time with Violet and they talk about the Christmas presents they bought for each other, despite Violet most definitely not having a Christmas gift for him.Sam finds out that Reed was struggling with a painkiller addiction before his death. Sam continues to feel guilty because Reed took a bullet for him early in his career. And Reed asked Sam to help him at the gallery but he said no. He should've been there. We see a flashback of Emily as a kid using her "wiz powers" for bad and changing the grades of a bully to make his grades worse. The boy she's hanging out with is a fan, and they kiss.Back to present day, Emily and Sam sneak around the art gallery to listen in on the investigation since Sam is too close to the case to actively investigate. They catch wind of a guy named Benny who may have a grudge against Reed. They go to do a stakeout and find Benny talking to the art influencer and Moira Wells. How are they all connected? The next day at a book signing for Moira, Emily watches as Moira gets really weird around a girl who said she's adopted too. After that, the bookstore owner, Noah, confronts her. He thinks she's lying about who she is because of inconsistencies in the book. She quickly leaves.Emily goes to talk to Famous Ray about getting them on the guest list for the big art exhibit. On her way out, she asks if he knows anything about underground hackers. She rattles off a few including Chimera and Ray is like, "Oh, are you and Sam working on the same project?" It's at this point that she realizes Sam is still investigating her.Emily is poking around some more and sees the art influencer clean his glasses with the same glasses cleaner found at the crime scene. He said he was there because he paid the security guard to let him see the painting first.Which is why when the painting is finally displayed at a party, he looks confused. Obviously, Emily notices and asks him what's wrong. He says, "That's not the painting I saw."Sam takes this information to his boss and he tells him to stay out of this; he's not on this case.We get another flashback and we see the principal of the school come to talk to her hacking club about someone who stole money from the school's bank account. They think some student hacked into the system and she shuts down the hacking club.Back to present day, Emily meets with Noah. He's continuing to dig into his suspicion about Moira. He thinks she's definitely a fraud, so he decides to apologize to her and ask her for drinks to bury the hatchet. The "Bad News Guy" art influencer is found dead. That's unfortunate. And Piper, the girl who Moira got mad at at the book signing, had her art piece destroyed.Noah tells Emily that he has a glass she drank out of and wants to do a DNA test. But compare it to what? Well, Emily remembers that Angela Wells' paint brushes were made out of her hair. So with the help of Famous Ray, Sam, and Noah, Emily breaks in to steal a strand of it.Sometimes you gotta do a little bad to do a little good. Cut to a flashback showing the principal getting arrested for stealing the money. Young Emily looks concerned. Her boyfriend not so much.Oh hey good news - the art influencer is not dead and he wants to help with the case - he's mad at Moira for not giving him the exclusive. He has a blurry picture of the real painting - it's clearly different, and actually looks a whole lot like Piper.Sam and Emily finally talk about Sam still looking into her further. Emily says she's nervous that if he keeps looking into her, he's not going to like what he finds.Sam brings Moira into questioning, and brings the DNA test to prove that she's not related to her. Moira comes clean - she convinced a very old daughter of Angela that she was her daughter. They believe that Moira came to Fletcher's Grove to scare Piper off. She basically confirms all of that but says she didn't kill Reed and asks for her lawyer. When the cop that was working the case finds out about this, he's pissed. Sam was supposed to be on leave! But that's not the only reason he's mad. He's mad because HE DID IT! Once Sam questions him, he admits to everything. He just wanted to send his kid through medical school and things got away from him.Piper ends up still winning the painting competition and everyone now knows that she's the real heir of Angela Wells. The movie ends with Sam and Emily going for a walk. Sam apologizes for continuing to investigate her. He's more interested in who she is now. They promise not to keep any new secrets from each other. Emily is happy until she thinks she sees her ex-boyfriend from school, Aaron. Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show? Tim Yerxa gets us in the spirit of the season with a chat about Tyler Shaw's Christmas show.
Rose Walsh is a home renovator who insists on being present anytime there's a showing of one of her properties. She's interested in a cottage in Ireland and puts in an offer to a man named Sean—though her approach is unnecessarily spicy. When she arrives in Ireland, Sean recognizes her on the street and tries to talk to her, but she's immediately wary—like STRANGER DANGER. She later shows up at the cottage, only to be shocked when she discovers that Sean is the same guy from the city. She declares that she's going to flip the house, but he argues that house flipping is the worst thing to ever happen to homes. She insists, "Just show me the house."To her dismay, the house is an absolute disaster—she's been house-fished. Sean tells her she should have read the fine print, and she's left feeling discouraged.Things take an unexpected turn when she discovers that Sean essentially runs the town—he's everything from the fire marshal to the local real estate agent. Although Rose is dead set against selling the house, the townspeople are eager for her to do so. Sean offers to help make the situation right. As Rose works on fixing up the house, Sean spends as much time with her as possible. They go out drinking, stay up all night, and somehow manage to form fully functioning sentences—so, things are going pretty well. They eventually agree that what the house really needs, more than a functioning roof or repairs, is a Christmas tree.Rose finally gets the house ready for a showing, and a couple expresses interest. When they ask why she's selling, she admits, "I don't know. Maybe I want to stay after all."In a wild twist, a woman—who turns out to be a famous pop star who's recently shaved her head—arrives in the town, hiding from the public eye.Rose struggles with whether or not she should sell the house, even after receiving an offer. Sean keeps urging her to make a decision, not only because the buyers are pushing for an answer, but because he's also super into her. During a romantic picnic, they almost kiss, but Rose says she needs more time.On the day of the cold plunge, Rose arrives and tells Sean she's found a home—not with the cottage, but with him. He tells her that they don't have to stay in Ireland; he'd go anywhere with her. They head to the water for the cold plunge, share a kiss, and run into the sea together.

My dear friend (and former YSA) Tyler Shaw (RM, active Latter-day Saint, works for the Church) joins us to share his unexpected life reality of being single. Tyler talks about returning from his mission and believed his life plan was to get married around age 24-25, have children, and then be done having children around age 30. Well, that is not how life is turning out for Tyler. Tyler talks about how he is managing a life different than he expected. It is a story of courage, faith, and temple attendance to see the big picture. It is also a story of not looking backwards with regret or the unhealthy road of “what is wrong with me”. If your life has unexpected twists and turns and it not exactly as you imaged it in your younger years, Tyler's story will help you. Tyler has this ability to create grace for ourselves, continue to work to improve, and temple attendance to be reminded of the big picture to find peace and perspective in our current journey. Honored to have you on the podcast Tyler. You are a good man and friend. Your story will help so many. Rosanne Baker Thornley Rocks the house on this interview and visits with me to talk about her new song that is the title track for her new album "Sorry I'm Late" https://open.spotify.com/track/79nrAnVt6KkTcX143tWr9g?si=268655f97a604caf We get deep into one of my favorite topics, songwriting, going deep and finding the colors inside of yourself so you can transform them into a beautiful sonic landscape and splash them all over someones heart......... “I love that I am able to step behind artists' eyes and write songs from many perspectives and genres. I lean in to understand the hearts of the artists who are sitting in front of me.” Through listening, Rosanne lifts the artistry of the original artist/songwriters she works with such as - Justin Nozuka, Tyler Shaw, Ryland James, Jordan John, Paul Woida, Julian Taylor, Robb Torres, Mikalyn, Andrew Allen, Shannon Dooks, Ken Yates, Colin MacDonald (Trews), Havelin, Poesy, Vicki Brittle.
We had the pleasure of interviewing CARYS over Zoom video!Following her anthemic single “Recovering People Pleaser,” pop singer CARYS wraps this Aquarius season up with her empowering and healing new single “Aquarius” – out now! Produced by Ryan Stewart (Carly Rae Jepsen, Tyler Shaw), the Avril inspired track is about growing out of a relationship and trying to move on.In the astrology calendar, last year entered the Age of Aquarius, which means it's a time to relinquish the old ways and harness in the new. “Age of Aquarius” is repeated throughout the track, in which CARYS reflects this exact sentiment. In her own words, she explains the inspiration of the single saying: “When I wrote this track I was going through an Avril phase and constantly had Let Go & The Best Damn Thing on repeat and inspired me to put how I've been feeling into song. I was growing out of certain relationships and wanted to move on but without all the guilt! Aquarius' are known for being kind but also once we've decided there's no turning back. I needed to find a way just to move on.” CARYS – the moniker of rising pop artist Aviva Mongillo, has quickly become an exciting artist to watch. Her hit “Princesses Don't Cry” became a viral sensation that has since gone Gold in Canada & Brazil, Platinum in India and it continues to rack up millions of streams each week. She has since gone on to release her 2020 debut EP To Anyone Like Me. At the end of 2022, CARYS returned to release brand new music with “Psychic” & Recovering People Please” which see's her entering a new era of song writing. While her earlier music was raw, impulsive, and almost stream-of-consciousness in nature, she's started bringing intention into her work in a whole new way. Her newest singles reflect the internal changes she's gone through. The tracks retain her classic empowering pop sensibilities, but with a maturity and sophistication that's far beyond her years – with themes of growth, change, and moving past the need for validation, her gift for speaking to the collective anxieties of a generation of young people is as sharp as ever.We want to hear from you!
