Hi, welcome to another Expert Insights discussion Today we are joined by Connor Vanderholm from Topline, one of our Expert Partners, Following his recent article outlining some of the revenue management practices that could be considered to run a little close to unethical, we felt compelled to hear the words from his own mouth and get a slightly deeper insight Obviously what are, or are not, ethical boundaries is a personal viewpoint, and this conversation is far from preachy, but, in our opinion, it does hold a mirror up to some of the techniques used which might lead to a guest feeling more like a walking ATM, than a welcome visitor. Hope you enjoy the conversation
Hi, welcome to another Expert Insights discussion Today we are joined by Stephanie Smith from Cogwheel Marketing, one of our Expert Partners, In this discussion we explore how hotel sales and marketing can seem disconnected when looking at how to drive topline revenue. Through this conversation, she outlines 10 areas to challenge your current thinking, and lays out a simple point scoring game you can play to see if you do indeed adopt a balanced approach, or maybe not. Hope you enjoy the conversation What will you score?

Hi, welcome to one of our Expert Insight discussions This is part 2 of 2 episodes looking at the importance of controlling your Hotel pricing and, more importantly, the impacts of not controlling it. In both episodes we have been joined by Pablo Sanchez from mirai, one of our Expert Partners In part 1 Pablo outlined how losing control of your price could mean hoteliers missing out on a potential 34% increase in bookings. In this episode we change tack a little and look at possible medium to long term implications of not addressing your hotel price competitiveness. The loss of booking increase is an obvious short term potential loss, but looking further out the challenges are more subtle, occurring slowly overtime. In much the same way we see with the current climate crisis, with small temperature changes over the years, these small incremental missed opportunities could have a larger, more dramatic impact. You can't put your head in the sand, do the same thing and expect a different outcome - that would be insanity. I really hope you enjoy this conversation
Hi, welcome to one of our Expert Insight discussions This is part 1 of 2 episodes looking at the importance of controlling your Hotel pricing and, more importantly, the impacts of not controlling it. In both episodes we are joined by Pablo Sanchez from mirai, one of our Expert Partners In this episode Pablo outlines concisely, how losing control of your pricing could mean hoteliers missing out on a potential 34% increase in bookings. He shows us how different pricing scenarios feed through to increased visibility, CTR and conversions and, by using booking simulation, Pablo illustrates how this 34% potential increase of bookings could be achieved. All of these scenarios and simulations are supported by data from their recent survey of 1500 hotel prices formed from 10 million traveller-set date queries. In part 2 we will look at the broader, Medium to long term Implications of not controlling your Hotel price But for now, I really hope you enjoy this conversation
Hi, welcome to another Coffee Time Chat This is the first video in a series we are doing with Strategic Solution Partners, where we take a look at Sustainability in the hotel industry. NB: Strategic Solution Partners are one of our Expert Partners Across this series we will be looking at different aspects of sustainability in hotels and asking are we seeing genuine sustainability efforts or are we falling into the greenwashing trap. Joining us to share their views and experience are David Kasten and Mark Sherwin For this discussion we are focusing on the operational side of a hotel. We ask: What does sustainability actually mean With inflation, high interest rates and staffing issues can we actually prioritise sustainability initiatives at this present time If we can prioritise them, what are some of the short term, low hanging fruit, ideas hotels could look to adopt Taking a more strategic viewpoint, how should we approach medium and longer term projects And finally we ask, are we seeing genuine leadership in this are or is it more of a tick box exercise to hit regulations and give the hotel PR team something to talk about. Really hope you enjoy the conversation
