Customer experience leadership is not just about gathering insights—it's about securing genuine organizational buy-in. In this special episode of the Experience Action podcast, our host Jeannie Walters sits down with Sasha Fard, Country Lead for Customer Experience Management at Capital One Canada, to reveal the often-overlooked secret to successful CX implementation.Speaking from the bustling Medallia Experience 2025 event in Las Vegas, Fard dismantles the common misconception that actionable Voice of Customer data alone drives change. The real challenge? Getting cross-functional leaders to not just review customer feedback but commit to acting on it.What makes this conversation particularly valuable is Fard's practical approach to change management. Following ADKAR principles (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement), he demonstrates how CX professionals must transform themselves into skilled salespeople for their initiatives. "You need to be a good salesperson too," Fard advises, "because you're selling an idea, you're selling an approach." This means understanding stakeholder objectives, speaking their language, and showing how CX directly supports their goals—not overwhelming them with metrics and industry jargon. The most compelling takeaway? Start small, demonstrate value, and scale gradually. By securing incremental commitments rather than demanding wholesale change, CX leaders can build the credibility needed to expand their influence. This approach earned Capital One the Global CXPA Impact Award, recognizing their success in driving tangible business outcomes through customer experience initiatives. Dublin-based ATC Logistics has won the 2025 AWS Ireland Horizon Award in recognition of the company's outstanding contribution to employment, international service expansion, and for helping to elevate Ireland's reputation as a world-leading location for cloud infrastructure. Founded in 1979, ATC Logistics has transformed from a family business into a global leader in data centre operations management.Headquartered in Baldonnell, County Dublin, ATC Logistics provides comprehensive B2B solutions for data centre operations, including secure transport services, installation management, decommissioning expertise, and data centre relocation solutions. ATC Managing Director, Keith Young said: "The Horizon Award is tremendous recognition for the ATC team and their dedication to excellence in logistics and supply chain operations. Working closely with AWS has helped us transform from a local Irish business into an internationalplayer, while staying true to our core values of reliability and customer focus." Now in its third year, the award was presented by Neil Morris, AWS Ireland Country Lead, at an AWS Business Breakfast in Dublin. The event brought together a range of companies, service providers, and stakeholders to discuss Ireland's cloud infrastructure industry. The event featured insights from Barry Cowen MEP, Muireann Lynch, Senior Research Officer at Economic and Social Research Institute, and Jenny Melia, Executive Director of Enterprise Ireland. A highlight of the event was the panel discussion, "Irish Cloud Ecosystem Firms and the AI Infrastructure of the Future", which examined Ireland's evolving role in global data centre infrastructure as AI investments surge worldwide. Barry Cowen MEP, said: "Ireland has established itself as a European leader in data centre development, combining our natural advantages, such as climate, with strong technical expertise. What's particularly encouraging to see is how this sector has created a ripple effect throughout the Irish economy, supporting thousands of jobs not just in construction and operations, but across a whole ecosystem of Irish suppliers and service providers. We're seeing local companies develop world-class capabilities and export their expertise globally." Enterprise Ireland's Jenny Melia provided perspective on the broader impact of data centre investment in Ireland over the years, stating: "Over a short space of time, the data centre sector has become a significant part of Ireland's economy. Using the skills that they have developed on Irish projects, many of these data centre firms have gone on to expand their business internationally." Neil Morris, Country Lead for AWS in Ireland, emphasised the importance of firms like ATC Logistics: "Irish companies have shown themselves to be innovative and willing to adapt, take risks, and grow as the industry changes. The data centre suppliers, which we recognise through the Horizon Award, have been pivotal in helping to establish Ireland as a world-leading location for cloud infrastructure." In Ireland, AWS employs over 4,200 employees directly, and around 6,500 people in total across Amazon and AWS. According to Indecon International Economic Consultants, there are also more than 3,000 working for AWS suppliers and sub-contractors. These numbers reflect real opportunities for professionals in Ireland's growing tech sector. AWS investment has enabled over 500 homegrown suppliers to expand and grow in Ireland and abroad. This includes major constructioncontractors, mechanical and electrical suppliers, professional services and a wide range of logistics services provided by local businesses. By working with AWS, many companies have been able to develop specialist, world-leading expertise, meaning those Irish firms are now market leaders in providing materials and services to data centres globally. In 2023, contracts won by suppliers and subcontractors to AWS, for the development of cloud infrastructure overseas, increased to an...

FREENOW has announced an exclusive incentive with Tesla, offering all FREENOW driver partners up to €5,400 off the list price of a Tesla vehicle. When combined with the eSPSV grant scheme, this can reduce the cost of switching to a new electric taxi by up to €26,590. The appetite for the switch to electric is clear for drivers and passengers alike, with FREENOW welcoming, on average 13 battery Electric Vehicles (EVs) to its fleet weekly. In the first half of 2024, 14% of all FREENOW trips taken were via EVs, with the EV driver fleet growing by almost 11% in this period. In addition, nearly half (44%) of all FREENOW vehicles in Dublin last year were electric and hybrid. This partnership supports the National Transport Authority's (NTA) recently launched Sustainability Strategy, which outlines its commitment to implementing and promoting sustainability practices nationally across the transport sector. As part of the new Strategy, the NTA is aiming for 40% of all taxis in Ireland to be sustainable by 2030. Danny O'Gorman, newly appointed General Manager at FREENOW Ireland, said: "We're excited to announce this new partnership with Tesla, which offers an exclusive incentive that makes driving an EV even more affordable for our driver partners. At FREENOW, we continue to take a considerate and comprehensive approach to sustainability. The National Transport Authority has also set ambitious sustainability goals, which we are committed to supporting as Ireland's No. 1 taxi app. "Every part of the transport ecosystem has a role to play in reducing emissions, and we see the switch to electric taxi fleets as a huge opportunity for rapid, meaningful change. Our partnership with Tesla is another key step in helping our drivers make this important transition." Melanie Naughton, Country Lead at Tesla Ireland, commented: "Creating this opportunity for FREENOW taxi drivers is a significant step in actioning our mission here in Ireland. In two weeks, we have received over 450 requests from drivers across the country, showing a real demand for affordable, high-performance EVs. We look forward to introducing more drivers to our vehicles and further contributing to Ireland's transition to sustainable energy." The offer is available to FREENOW drivers for both the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, two of the best-selling vehicles in Europe in either long-range or rear wheel drive variants. In 2023, the Model Y was the best-selling vehicle in the world. Both vehicles have gained popularity due to their efficient interior spaces, 5-star NCCAP safety ratings and affordable charging rates. Tesla's Supercharger network lets drivers charge their cars quickly, adding up to 241 km of range in just 15 minutes. According to the National Transport Authority, the average taxi driver in Ireland covers 32,600km per year whilst in service. In a petrol vehicle, this would cost approximately €4,500 per year; however, with a Tesla Model Y, the estimated cost drops to just €2,700. In Model 3, the estimated cost goes down to €2,100 per year, and this could decrease further through charging at home with an overnight EV tariff.

SD Worx Ireland, the leading payroll and HR solutions provider, has announced that it is investing €3 million to expand its payroll offering and roll the service out to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ireland. Historically servicing medium and large enterprises of over 250 employees, SD Worx's innovative payroll solution is now available to SMEs across all industries. The investment will span five years across technology, services, and people within SD Worx Ireland. During this timeframe, the company forecasts that 20% of its business will stem from SMEs and expects revenue growth from the SME sector of 60% per year. Driving the demand for the service among SMEs in Ireland are new reporting regulations, such as gender pay gap reporting. This requires increased payroll visibility and accuracy and applies to SMEs with over 150 employees for the first time this year, and those with more than 50 employees in 2025. Meanwhile, legislation relating to statutory sick pay and upcoming auto-enrolment for pensions brings additional administration, meaning smaller businesses may not have the necessary internal resources to keep pace with the rate of change. In addition to these challenges, according to SD Worx's Payroll Proficiency in Ireland report, the movement of personnel within organisations, such as joiners or leavers, is making payroll handling more difficult for a quarter (25%) of businesses in Ireland. Meanwhile, the administration of employee presence and absence (cited by 56%) was ranked as the process that complicates payroll the most. Data collection and access to, or integration of, data sources was also signalled as a challenge by 51% of organisations. SD Worx's €3M investment will ensure that all organisations, no matter their size, have access to the same resources as larger enterprises in overcoming these challenges. The company's investment covers the establishment of a dedicated team to support SMEs in Ireland, customisation of operational design, and technology upgrades. With these enhanced capabilities, within the next 12 months, the company expects to grow its customer base by up to 50 SMEs in sectors such as retail, hospitality, and construction, as well as customers in financial and professional services. The establishment of its SME service comes at a time when SD Worx is on an aggressive growth path in Ireland and will support its strategy in this area. In February, SD Worx announced that it will create 40 new jobs in Ireland in the next two years, growing its team to 115 as part of a €2.9M investment in its workforce. Ireland's fastest-growing payroll technology company, SD Worx has been operating in Ireland for nearly 30 years, previously as Intelligo until it was acquired by SD Worx in 2022. Its enterprise-grade payroll solution pays one in five employees in Ireland's corporate sector. Eimear Byrne, Country Lead, SD Worx Ireland, said: "We have scaled up our own capabilities so that businesses who may lack the necessary internal resources can keep pace with evolving payroll trends and requirements. SD Worx aims to empower SMEs to focus on their core business activities while leaving the complexities of payroll management to trusted professionals. Our new offering means that amid intense competition for top talent, increasing regulations and rising costs, SMEs can continue to grow and thrive with on-hand payroll support and cost certainty. "SMEs can often be stretched in terms of resources and this enhanced service will provide peace of mind for those who seek the reliability we offer by never missing a pay date or Revenue submission. The service will also guarantee that SMEs are compliant with regulations and effectively safeguarding confidential company and employee data. We are looking forward to working closely withorganisations in the SME space to drive value and underpin their continued success." SD Worx's flexible and scalable managed payroll service relieves pressure on businesses, redu...

Minister Alan Dillon, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has launched a new EnergyCloud project in Galway with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The initiative, which was announced as part of an ongoing collaboration between not-for-profit EnergyCloud Ireland and Amazon Web Services (AWS), will enable families in 150 homes in Galway to receive free tanks of hot water from surplus renewable energy. Over 150 Galway families will soon have their homes equipped with an EnergyCloud enabled smart device to allow them to benefit from free tanks of hot water from surplus renewable energy. The device uses surplus renewable energy, which would otherwise be wasted, to heat immersion tanks. Speaking at the launch of the installation programme at the Gusta Gaoithe wind farm in Ardderoo, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Alan Dillon TD, said: "This is an ambitious and creative project between EnergyCloud Ireland and Amazon Web Services and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to officially launch this programme in Galway." "The Government has clear ambitions under the Climate Action Plan in relation to flexible demand management, which maximises the efficiency of our renewable electricity generation and reduces our dependence on fossil fuel generation at peak demand times. As more and more smart energy solutions for renewable energy generation, storage and sharing continue to be developed, the Government expects more homes to be able to take advantage of excess renewable energy, thereby reducing their energy costs and carbon footprint. We know from EirGrid that there is a significant amount of dispatched down renewable energy which could be utilised in other ways, such as to heat hot water tanks. That is why initiatives such as EnergyCloud are so important." Neil Morris, Country Lead for Ireland at AWS said: "AWS has been investing in Ireland for over 15 years and this collaboration with EnergyCloud Ireland highlights our continued commitment to local communities. EnergyCloud Ireland is a great example of an innovative technology solution where businesses can work together to create positive social impact." At the event, Minister Dillon was joined by representatives from Wind Energy Ireland, AWS, EnergyCloud Ireland and a range of state and other agencies. CEO of Wind Energy Ireland, Noel Cunniffe commented: "The vision of EnergyCloud is to use wind energy which would otherwise be wasted to instead provide hot water for homes living in energy poverty. As a country, we are working towards having 80% of Ireland's electricity coming from renewable sources by 2030, and that will make us much more weather dependent. Initiatives such as EnergyCloud help to maximise that opportunity to use energy when the wind is blowing while also helping people in fuel poverty." John Mullins, Chairperson of EnergyCloud Ireland, concluded: "This support from Amazon Web Services will allow EnergyCloud to support families throughout Galway. Access to free renewable energy means that families that are part of the EnergyCloud project can simultaneously save money on electricity while reducing their use of fossil fuels. The project is a win-win-win as we are collectively creating solutions for surplus energy rather than simply switching off wind turbines and solar panels. For example, according to EirGrid, 5480 GWh of renewable wind energy was dispatched down between 2018 and 2023. That energy could have heated 1.825 billion hot water tanks and the approximate retail value of this wasted wind energy was €1.592 billion."
The Irish Homeless Street League (IHSL), supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS), marked the celebration of its 20th anniversary with a successful international football tournament on the 8th and 9th June. This milestone event took place at Sean Walsh Astro in Tallaght, bringing together teams from across the globe to compete, connect, and champion the spirit of inclusion and resilience. The 20th Anniversary International Tournament was a landmark event, which celebrated the journey that many people have been on through the homeless street leagues movement throughout the years. Male and female teams from 10 countries, including Spain, England, Poland, Scotland, Romania, Northern Ireland, Wales, Finland and the Republic of Ireland, took part in the event, showcasing the global reach and impact of the homeless street football movement. Speaking about AWS' support of the Irish Homeless Street League, Neil Morris, Country Lead for AWS in Ireland said: "The Irish Homeless Street Leagues is a fantastic initiative that has transformed people's lives both in Ireland and abroad. We are delighted to have played a small part in a local project that has grown into an international tournament over the last 20 years." Through this tournament and movement, participants have been given the platform to share their journeys which has highlighted the positive impact sport can have on people who are overcoming adversity. One such participant who took part in this year's tournament is Graham Mellon, who developed a drinking problem, lost his relationship and custody of his two kids, and subsequently became homeless. He has always loved football and used this passion as a catalyst in his path to recovery. He was chosen to represent Ireland at this year's international tournament. Speaking about his experience with the Irish Homeless Street Leagues, Graham Mellon said: "The Irish Homeless Street Leagues have been a huge part of my life and I will be forever thankful for the part they played in helping me to turn my life around. As a football fan all my life, the IHSL has proved to be a brilliant escape from the difficulties I was experiencing on a daily basis and I'll never be able to thank them enough the help and support they have provided to me. Being able to represent Ireland at the international tournament in Tallaght was a huge honour for me." See more stories here.

Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Emer Higgins TD has announced that Limerick's H&MV Engineering has won the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Horizon Award at a ceremony in Dublin. H&MV Engineering was recognised for its design and construction solutions across data centres, wind farms and solar and battery projects. The award was presented by Minister Higgins and Enterprise Ireland CEO, Leo Clancy. Now in its second year, the AWS Horizon Award aims to recognise firms that have helped to improve employment in Ireland, exported their skills or products to other regions and markets, or positively played a part in the wider reputation of the cloud infrastructure industry. A 2023 study by Indecon International Economic Consultants (Indecon) provided an overview of the scale of investment AWS has made in Ireland since 2012, and demonstrated the positive ripple effects an AWS data centre has on local communities. The report found that AWS has increased economic output in Ireland by over €11.4 billion since 2012, contributing nearly €2.4 billion in additional economic output in 2022 alone. The event provided an opportunity for a range of companies, service providers and other stakeholders to share their thoughts on the collaboration and relationship between AWS and Ireland's wider enterprise network. Minister Higgins said: "The Irish companies that work alongside our multinational base are a vital part of Ireland's economy. It is excellent to get an opportunity to get to recognise the success of these firms, who are at the frontier of the digital economy. Companies like this create jobs here in Ireland and, in the process, create a platform to expand internationally. I want to congratulate H&MV Engineering, and all the firms that were shortlisted for today's award." Leo Clancy, CEO Enterprise Ireland, said: "In recent years Enterprise Ireland has worked closely with H&MV Engineering as the company has expanded internationally. It is exciting to see this highly innovative business go from strength-to-strength creating new jobs here in Ireland and overseas and are worthy winners of this award. I also wish to commend AWS as they continue to provide supports to a cross-sector of Irish businesses, including start-ups and scale-ups and play a significant role in nurturing innovation and growth within the overall enterprise eco-system." Neil Morris, Country Lead for AWS in Ireland, said: "We have seen the data centre industry in Ireland expand significantly over the last number of years, giving local companies the resources and opportunities to build world-leading solutions in the areas of engineering, manufacturing and logistics. The importance of these companies to the Irish economy cannot be overstated and each have contributed significantly to enterprise and employment in Ireland. The work and success of H&MV Engineering is a prime example of the positive impact that foreign investment can have on the Irish economy, as a result of their collaboration with AWS." PJ Flanagan, CEO of H&MV Engineering, said: "Ever since we started working with AWS in 2013, this has created many different jobs and roles in engineering, project management and a number of supporting jobs in our Irish offices. The support AWS has provided to us has allowed us to establish a presence globally. We are delighted to have been awarded the AWS Horizon Award this year and it is testament to the hard work and commitment shown by everyone associated with the company." See more stories here.

Bitpanda, one of Europe's leading investment platforms, has announced it is expanding its services to Ireland to meet growing demand for safe and secure access to digital assets. The platform will empower potential, first-time and seasoned Irish investors to take full control of their finances. Leading this growth is former CMO of MyWallSt and former Head of EMEA Growth at Hailo, Rob Cumiskey, now Country Lead and Head of Marketing for Bitpanda in Ireland. ERIC DEMUTH, co-founder and CEO of Bitpanda, says “At Bitpanda, we are setting the bar for retail investing in Europe with regulation and security for digital assets and bringing a trusted, seamless and secure trading experience to all. As recent events have shown, where you invest matters. We are giving European investors a better choice because we believe that digital assets and blockchain technology are reinventing what it means to invest, and we remain committed to building simple, easy-to-use, and fully regulated financial products for everyone.” Rob Cumiskey, Country Lead and Head of Marketing for Bitpanda in Ireland added: “'We have a growing community of Bitpanda users in the Irish market, which doesn't surprise us at all given the early adopter nature of the market. With this in mind, we have been investing in our local Bitpanda team and we want to make sure that we have the best possible product based on local needs across Europe. I personally can't wait to lead our growth efforts here and show Ireland what Bitpanda has to offer.” Ireland will play a central role in Bitpanda's expansion goals as it aims to become the number one investment platform in Europe. Bitpanda aims to simplify wealth creation for investors of all-aptness and levels of experience by building the infrastructure they need to take control over when and how they invest. The platform's intuitive design gives people an easy, fast and safe way to invest in a wide range of digital assets. Underpinning this is Bitpanda's absolute commitment to customer security and safety. Bitpanda's crypto assets are held in a highly-secure environment and customers' crypto funds are 100% backed. Additionally, the Bitpanda Group diligently follows European laws and regulations. Bitpanda operates business based on various VASP registrations, as well as MiFID II, E-Money and PSD II licences amongst all its core markets. The future of fintech is partnerships As Europe's largest and most regulated trading platform Bitpanda wants to help accelerate the transition to a tokenized world by removing significant barriers to investing, and partnering with existing financial institutions to modernise traditional financial products. By bringing its White Label API-infrastructure to Ireland, the platform will allow traditional banks and fintechs here to access 24/7 trading and provide their current and future customers with an easy, convenient and secure way to invest in digital assets as a significant value-added service. Leading European financial firms already using Bitpanda White Label include French neobank – Lydia, UK based smart money app – Plum, and the largest digital bank in continental Europe – N26, and Bitpanda sees a similarly large appetite amongst Irish banks. Simplifying wealth creation Approximately 12% of Ireland's population is actively investing in cryptocurrency, according to data by GWI. However, as macroeconomic events continue to impact people's finances, an openness to making investments coupled with exposure to money based apps has dramatically increased Irish customer interest in investing in digital assets. Bitpanda's Irish data shows that Bitcoin and Ethereum are the most popular assets being traded on the platform with both male and female users. Terra Classic (more popular male) and Cardano (more popular female) follow in third place. Elon Musk's Tesla and Twitter are the most heavily traded securities with Irish users showing us that Irish users have not been immune to the news cycles of the past...

William Huggins, DBA, is Vice President Operations and Country Lead at iQor Trinidad. In this episode, we discuss his purpose-driven approach to leading the iQor team in Trinidad. William recently completed his Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with a concentration in customer experience. He explains how he is applying his previous work experience, his education and his purpose-driven approach to leading the iQor team in Trinidad. His Previous Experience Set the Stage for His Current Role William's past roles have led him to iQor in this leadership role. He has worked in several industries in different roles including marketing, sales, business development and customer experience. Of all those roles, he attributes the most impactful in his career to roles in the contact center industry. When the VP Operations, Country Lead position in Trinidad became available at iQor, he jumped at the chance to apply his professional experience, his education, and his passion for the local economy. iQor is a dynamic and innovative customer centric organization that is passionate about its employees, its customers and the local communities in which it operates, all of which excited William. How His Doctoral Dissertation Aligns William explains that his doctoral dissertation addresses a gap in customer experience theory which he describes as a lack of constructs of the customer experience and its impact at each stage of the consumer buying process. His dissertation is a unique study that unearthed a new theory and valuable knowledge for customer experience practitioners. He examined over 50 years of scholastic work conducted on customer experience and concluded that any given customer experience is created by the combination of four attributes, or dimensions, explained in the acronym FACT. This is how they breakdown: Functionality refers to the physical aspect of a company's core product and service offering. Aesthetics involves the appearance of a building or staff (the look and feel). Communication with customers is considered fundamental to a CX strategy. Talent involves the people and culture of an organization. How His Doctoral Dissertation Correlates to His Leadership Role at iQor Trinidad William points out that customer experience IS iQor's business. We interact with customers for the brands who entrust us to answer their questions and solve their problems. Hence, having a deeper understanding of what creates an excellent customer experience enables William to lead our team in Trinidad to focus on those key dimensions and sub-dimensions in the delivery of an exceptional experience to our client's customers. What It Means to be Purpose-Driven in His Leadership Role For many years, the Trinidad and Tobago (TT) economy was largely driven by oil and gas. While there have been many discussions about diversification of the TT economy it has been slow in coming. Because of William's involvement in the BPO industry for several years, he has long had the desire to influence the development of the BPO industry as an alternative revenue source for the TT economy. iQor provides William the opportunity to impact diversification in TT and to create desirable jobs for his fellow Trinidadians. As a result,William's passion is to position iQor TT as the BEST place to work and the most desirable contact center location for our clients. iQor Trinidad employees are all local Trinidadians. William points out that he grew up in TT. He knows firsthand how passionate, and performance-driven his fellow Trinidadians are. As an example, he boasts that a client in the home services industry has ranked iQor Trinidad as their #1 BPO in performance among ALL their contact centers globally! And he mentions with pride that this same team is currently leading the pack in 2021 with the same client. Why iQor is a Great Place to Work for Local Trinidadians William points out the obvious to me, that iQor has an irresistible culture. When you couple our irresistible culture with an abundance of opportunity for local talent, iQor is an excellent place for young people to start their career straight out of a university. Additionally, there are many job opportunities for people further along in their career as well ranging from frontline agents to roles in HR, IT, Facilities, Operations, Finance, etc. iQor is fortunate to be expanding even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are currently preparing to open our third contact center in Chaguanas, Trinidad. Our TT employee count is currently approximately 1,350 and growing rapidly with expansion from existing programs and new clients coming on board. William says that it is an exciting time to be at iQor TT. A Situational Leadership Style I asked William how he is converging his work experience, education, and purpose to lead more than 1,300 people at iQor Trinidad. He explains that leadership is situational. He adopts an appropriate style to suit each situation. However, he points out that his inherent leadership style is participative and collaborative. This style is critical to support and drive his purpose of making iQor TT: 1) The best destination for our clients. 2) The best place to work for our employees. 3) The best investment for owners. 4) A valuable partner to the local government to assist with diversification efforts. His Leadership Action Plan William explains his leadership action plan this way: 1) It starts with our people. We have a unique culture that is difficult to replicate. William views his job as harnessing this culture and bringing out the best in our people to develop them and maximize their career path potential. 2) Each employee has something to contribute. He encourages a free flow of ideas. 3) Fostering a culture of performance that surpasses client's expectations and enables continued growth. 4) Collaboration with key stakeholders such as InvesTT, Minister of Trade, local universities, Chamber of Commerce all to help iQor TT diversify the economy and enhance communities through its Corporate Social Responsibilities initiatives. What William Does for Fun When He's Not Working William enjoys his work so much that he considers it fun. He also loves traveling with his family to other countries and exploring diverse cultures and foods during non-pandemic times. Additionally, he enjoys watching sports on television, particularly football, basketball and cricket. Learn more about iQor digital customer experience capabilities. Read the blog post here. The first intrapreneur of the year literally landed her dream job two years ago and hasn't looked back. Michelle Battersby is an amazing example of how you can leave corporate but not necessarily to start your own business (although, technically as you'll hear, she did kind of start from scratch). Michelle started out as a competitive rower with her heart set on the Olympics but ended up studying Arts and then a Masters in HR once she realised how much she was sacrificing for her training. She entered the workforce with Citibank and spent several years climbing the corporate ladder in banking getting a job at UBS, returning to Citi and then even ending up at PWC. But, it's her latest role as Country Lead and Marketing Director of Bumble Australia that changed her life completely when the opportunity landed in her lop just over two years ago. With no former experience but an intuitive belief that this was her opportunity of a lifetime, she quit her job that day and has been building Bumble Australia into the wonderful community it is today. It's not just a dating app, there's also Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz, all based on the premise that the woman makes the first move which is ground breaking in the industry. She's an absolute HOOT and I'm so happy to have her here on the show to show that dream jobs really do exist! + Full show notes here + Announcements on Insta at @spoonful_of_sarah + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of YAY!
