In this episode I have my final, year-end discussion with 3 of the 6 investors who started their investing journey in the beginning of the year. Nancy Hyunh, Alex Tam, and Bob Mastroianni have all grown so much and accomplished some incredible things throughout the year. You need to tune in to find out what they have been able to do and if you could potentially become a multifamily investor too!
Multiple business owner Dr. Alex Tam joins us on the show this week to show us how you can run multiple businesses efficiently and what to do when fear and procrastination are keeping you from moving forward in your business. Here are the top takeaways from this episode: Having people and systems together makes the day-to-day running of a small business easier to run and more efficient. For example, in Dr. Tam's medical practice he has the doctors, the nurse practitioners, and his office manager all integrated doing the same thing and working together after the same goal. Always look for employees who have the will and the adaptability to be able to learn more so that they can grow with the business. By the time you've thought of hiring an employee, you probably needed one a few months ago. On the ninety-fifth episode of Collecting Real Estate, we interviewed Alex Tam and Valerie Shirah of The Streamline Team.Alex TamBorn in China and raised in urban California, I went on to pursue a degree in post graduate education in the health field and opened our business to serve our community in California. Between working in and managing our office and becoming a parent while trying to grow our business concurrently, I found myself struggling to find a work-life balance. Working 12+ hour days became common and weekends were spent at the office attempting to make a dent on what was not completed during the week. I felt burned out. Things turned around for the better when I had a lightbulb moment: what if I hired someone to do tasks that can be delegated virtually, like social media management, video editing, etc? So I began the tedious task of finding a virtual assistant but the first virtual assistant turned out to be a game changer, so much so that we hired another. And then another. With our business growing, we have expanded our team of in office staff, as well as our virtual assistant family. All of our virtual assistants are highly valued members of our team and we can't do what we do without them. LinkedIn: Alex TamInstagram: alextam_2ndopiniondoctorFacebook: Alex TamValerie ShirahValerie Shirah is a stay at home mom who got started with real estate investing in 2019. She and her husband have multiple short term rentals and also invest in multifamily properties. When life became overwhelming, between homeschooling their three kids and managing multiple businesses, she started using a virtual assistant to help keep up with everything. She was hooked immediately, and within a few months she was able to focus on the most important tasks while her VA took care of the rest. Now, she is passionate about helping other investors get their life back and experience massive growth in their businesses through the use of virtual assistants.
