Nope! Stockdale was blasting skulls apart with a Line 6 HX stomp doing the heavy tonal lifting. Surprise! It's part of his strategy for traveling lite in support of Rock Out, the Australian outfit's 2021 album, on a make-up tour of the States that was preempted by the Covid shutdown. For Stockdale, the rest of his formula for playing his blood-and-guys rock 'n' roll live includes an SG, a White Falcon, and a vintage Supro, and … no traditional amps. “I used to have, like, three Voxes–cabs and everything up there. And we had a trailer behind the bus and two guys to carry it, who'd have a beer and high-five each other after they loaded out,” Stockdale recounts. “Now they‘re gone, all the amps, and them gone.”Here's a close-up look at what's onstage with Stockdale right now, as he uses minimalist gear to create maximum sound!Full Rig Details: https://www.premierguitar.com/videos/rig-rundowns/wolfmotherSubscribe to PG's Channel: http://bit.ly/SubscribePGYouTubeWin Guitar Gear: https://bit.ly/GiveawaysPG Don't Miss a Rundown: http://bit.ly/RIgRundownENLMerch & Magazines: https://shop.premierguitar.comPG's Facebook: https://facebook.com/premierguitarPG's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/premierguitar/PG's Twitter: https://twitter.com/premierguitarPG's Threads: https://threads.net/@premierguitarPG's TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@premierguitar[Brought to you by D'Addario: https://ddar.io/wykyk-rrD'Addario XPND Pedalboard: https://ddari.io/xpnd.rr]© Copyright Gearhead Communications LLC, 20240:00 - D'Addario: When You Know You Know0:15 - Wolfmother "Pyramid" Live Intro0:38 - 1961 Reissue Gibson SG4:06 - Vintage Supro Guitar5:15 - Gretsch White Falcon6:52 - Wolfmother's "Apple Tree" Live8:19 - D'Addario: Bohlinger and XPND9:08 - Andrews' Amps and Pedalboard18:59 - Wolfmother's "Pyramid" Live Outro19:36 - D'Addario: When You Know You Know#guitar #rigrundown #guitarist #guitargear #guitarplayer #wolfmother
Front man, Andrew Stockdale, and touring members, Nathan Wagner and Nick Vogelpohl, of acclaimed Australian hard rock band, Wolfmother, join us on the season finale episode of The Adamantium Podcast. We discuss their latest album, Rock Out, as well as their legendary debut self-titled album (one of my all-time favourite albums!), how the album changed their life and how broke they were before. We also talk about recording at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 and possibly missing a cue from Dave to play drums on the album, their whimsical song, “Apple Tree,” turning down P. Diddy after the Grammys, and trashing their stage in Toronto.
This week we offer up the 11th installment of our series called, “Degrees Of Separation…” where we discuss side projects and solo releases from artists we love. It also happens to be your favorite co-host Robert's birthday… So, what better way to celebrate his 32nd b-day than by listening to some music from one of his all-time favorites: Ian Fraser Kilmister. Lemmy!!! Not much more to say about the man, the myth, the legend. A rock n' roll icon that deserves the praise.New to InObscuria? It's all about digging up obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal from one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. While we may be talking about an artist that many of you know in this episode, perhaps you are not aware of the depth of side projects and duets he had over his career. Our hope is that we turn you on to something new!Songs this week include:Hawkwind - “Lost Johnny” from Hall Of The Mountain Grill (1974)Slash - “Doctor Alibi” from Slash (2010)Headgirl - “Please Don't Touch” from St. Valentine's Day Massacre EP (1981)Probot - “Shake Your Blood” from Probot (2004)HeadCat - “Something Else” from Walk The Walk… Talk The Talk (2011)Lemmy & Wendy O. In 2023 bestaat Paceshifters 15 jaar!
In 2005, when Wolfmother released their debut self-titled album, they not only set the world on fire but also, along with Jet, gave no doubt that rock was back and back in a big way. ‘Joker & The Thief' and ‘Woman' became favourites and the album sold well over 1.5 million copies worldwide. Now, after 5 albums under their belt, Wolfmother are coming to Newcastle's Cambridge Hotel this Thursday night for what promises to be a big night - ahead of the show, we welcome to The Good Stuff, from Wolfmother, Andrew Stockdale . . .

Wolfmother have released their 6th album, Rock Out - a tribute to Eddie Van Halen. We all know 'Woman', 'Joker & The Thief', 'New Moon Rising' and 'White Unicorn' and Rock Out continues with that winning formula. The 2005 debut album was jam-packed full of hits, and Wolfmother felt like a band that was world class right away. What we didn't know was they had been rehearsing a playing those songs live for almost 2 years before the EP and album was released. It went on to sell over 1.5 million copies and even now is considered one of the great rock albums. Wolfmother are headlining Uncaged Festival in Jan and Feb, 2022 and ready for a huge year of international touring. Check out the latest ep of The Rider with Becko, and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother
Wolfmother have always very much been a musical outlet driven by Andrew Stockdale. His vision, drive, and passion saw Wolfmother catapulted to the top of the rock charts following the release of their self-titled album – in Australia in 2005, and internationally in 2006 – which spawned the singles Woman and Joker & The Thief that harked back musically to an era long left behind but still very much loved.Wolfmother's music spanned generations, most notably the old school rock pioneered by Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, but with enough of an individual slant that elevated the band above many others that had openly flirted with emulating what has become timeless and classic music.Stockdale's dedication to his art, coupled with a wealth of talent and ability, has seen Wolfmother re-energise the early days of hard rock/metal and introduced a whole new generation of listeners to what many consider to be the greatest era of metal music in history. When COVID and the ensuing lockdowns decimated the global music industry, Stockdale chose to tackle the problem by creating music, sewing the seeds of what would become Wolfmother's sixth album, the appropriately titled Rock Out.The album is an audible indictment that no matter how insurmountable the odds may appear, beauty can overcome the beast and music shall endure. With Wolfmother also recently named as headliners of 2022's Uncaged Festival, Stockdale sat down for a chat with HEAVY to talk all things music and touring."I was sort of just having a laugh and amusing myself doing a Paul Stanley and then a David Lee Roth and Deep Purple,” he began, “and I call this the trans- record where I went from the UK to Pasadena and back again and celebrated all of my favourite rock front men (laughs)."Rather than the general media circus that accompanies Christmas releases, Rock Out was more of a surprise album, with Stockdale stressing Wolfmother's music is, and always has been, more about the music than the associated fanfare."To me it just seems like a bunch of hocus pocus,” he shrugged. “Pretentious carrying on that wastes a lot of time and energy. I'd rather just make another record and go on tour and do shows and make films for YouTube. I'd rather focus on the art. I like talking about it with people who like it (laughs) as opposed to saboteurs who just want to use you for click bait, but I just like putting stuff on YouTube and Facebook and Instagram and engaging with the fans and making contact. I like to work at a faster pace."In the full interview, Andrew talks about Rock Out from a musical perspective, recording all of the instruments himself, the pro's and con's of doing that, coming up with inspiration during lockdown, working with an unknown 19 year old producer, Uncaged and more.
New Wolfmother is on the way and Andrew Stockdale has the latest, if only he can remember his Dropbox password. Brand new eposide out now LITTLE TRIGGERS drop their new single Burn “…a gloriously hooky feast of winning choruses, and punchy guitars” CLASSIC ROCK MAGAZINE HIGH-FLYING ROCK TWOSOME DROP NEW SINGLE PLANS AND LYRIC VIDEO! LITTLE TRIGGERS are back with an ultra-magnetic slice of fuzzed-up, blues-infused rock, which is sure to turn heads and ignite the senses. The youthful rock ‘n' rollers have just released their new single Burn. Watch the lyric video, here - https://youtu.be/F9Y8eMPTjI8 This infectious duo hail from Liverpool and pull influence from past masters Hendrix and Plant, as well as drawing from contemporaries such as Homme and Grohl. In doing so, LITTLE TRIGGERS serve up an irresistible and boisterous blend of buzzsaw riffery, laced with thumping drums and layered with singalong melodies. Although the two-some are only in their early twenties, Tom Hamilton (lead vocals & guitars) and Jay Radcliffe (drums & backing vocals) have a maturity and experience that eclipses their youth. At the age of 17, Tom was offered a three- album major publishing deal for his first band, The 45's. Unfortunately, due to the collective age of the band, their parents rejected the deal and in turn The 45's disbanded. Not one to hide in a hole, Tom re-emerged and formed LITTLE TRIGGERS. The band soon hit the ground running and, to date, they have toured throughout the UK, Europe and China, and have shared stages with the likes of Iggy Pop and Temples. LITTLE TRIGGERS' debut album, Loaded Gun, arrived last year and instantly whipped up a raft of support. Classic Rock Magazine endorsed the rocksters with a full-page feature, review and a position on the publication's cover CD. Planet Rock playlisted the single, So Fine, for their New Rock Show, and the band racked up a slew of support from Total Rock, BBC Introducing, and Louder, where they were awarded with two Tracks Of the Week slots. The emerging riffsmiths also graced many Spotify curated prominent playlists, including All New Rock and Rock The World. As the year drew to an end, LITTLE TRIGGERS were again featured on Classic Rock Magazine's Cover CD, rounding off a hugely successful 2019. The new year started with a bang, and the twosome hit the road in February with a storming 12 date UK tour. Unfortunately, the current Covid-19 pandemic has halted further touring plans, however, the rock n rollers will be back with a run of shows later this year, as well as an appearance at the HRH festival. LITTLE TRIGGERS are now surging ahead with the release of their new single, Burn, which is an absolute firecracker of a track. Cut-throat riffs, ample groove and a hook that will hang in the air for ages, Burn marks the start of an exciting era for the band. Already with support from Planet Rock, Devils Gate Music, and Total Rock, to name a few, there's nothing stopping LITTLE TRIGGERS.
