In this week's episode I am joined by UFD client Ashley Gray from Grey Electrical Contractors in the West Midlands. Ashley's been doing very well in the electrical contracting world while also building a pretty impressive property portfolio using the BRRR strategy (buy, refurbish, refinance). We got into the nitty-gritty of how Ashley transformed his business by getting serious about the financials. We all know cash flow is king, but hearing how Ashley shifted from taking any job that came his way to strategically pursuing long-term contracts that provide consistent revenue was eye-opening. Ashley shared some painful lessons about pricing - something I think a lot of us can relate to! He admitted to underpricing jobs early on because he wasn't properly accounting for all his overheads. Once he built proper financial models and forecasting tools, the game completely changed for him. Ashley's approach to employee retention is gold - he's created a culture where his team feels valued, and it shows in their loyalty. His journey from scrambling for jobs to building a stable, profitable operation is exactly the kind of real-world business evolution I love exploring on this podcast. It's time to dive in - I hope you enjoy! Addressing the complex challenges within Medicaid and Medicare requires a holistic approach focused on data-driven solutions, workforce diversity, and an integrated system of care that prioritizes individual needs and promotes health equity. In this episode, Ashley Gray, Vice President at Sirona Strategies, discusses the future of Medicaid, Medicare, and other government healthcare programs. She explores the sustainability of Medicaid, given rising healthcare costs and an aging population, emphasizing the need for increased support for home and community-based services. Ashley talks about the complexities faced by dual eligibles and advocates for value-based payment models and managed care that are designed to provide more coordinated care. She explains the critical role of public health initiatives and interoperable health IT systems and the importance of having a diverse workforce that builds trust with the populations being served. Finally, Ashley further emphasizes the need for data-driven policy changes, gathering more robust social determinants data to inform appropriate solutions, and highlights the urgent need to move beyond siloed programs. Join us to learn how value-based payment models will help incentivize the delivery of quality care rather than quantity of care and to understand the future of government healthcare programs!
Dr. Ashley Gray is not only an equine veterinarian, but her practice and belief systems are based on a lifelong journey focused on improving a performance horse's ability to move properly with body massage, acupuncture and veterinary care in a comprehensive approach. She is an accomplished jockey herself, from being a top 10 NRHA Rookie of the Year finalist to a competitive 1D and rodeo winning barrel racer - as well as a mom, and wife to a fellow veterinarian! We are thrilled she joined us to share her expertise in all things acupuncture! This episode is brought to you by the new Patriot Event!

Welcome to another episode of The Cricket Slouch and this is SP, your usual host.Today I am joined by my recurring collaborators, Shounak and Sandeep, and we pay our respects to a few cricket personalities that left us last year and also look forward to what we most look forward to in 2023 from a cricketing perspective.Similar to the last episode, we have a book mentioned today, and that is called -The Unforgiven, Mercenaries or Missionaries – by Ashley Gray. It is available in hardcover and as an e-book on Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/Unforgiven-Ashley-Gray/dp/1785315323We also highlight a small personal milestone for the podcast - of reaching 1000 unique downloads - and this would not have been possible without the support of all the listeners. Hopefully TCS can continue this year too with the sort of eclectic content that we have done so far and are open to suggestions by the listeners. Thanks as usual to Noman and Umangi for their contribution to the podcast artwork.

WELCOME TO THE WORST FUCKING DAY IN OUR LIVES. The Roe-pocalypse has arrived. SCOTUS is trash. This morning, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and decimated the right to abortion in the United States. Take a deep breath and hold on tight, because “Feminist Buzzkills Live!,” the official podcast of Abortion Access Front, is here to rage and gear you up for the post-Roe world. We've got resources for you, calls to action, community, hope, and, as always, comedy to spike those serotonin levels. Plus, we're bringing you ALL the OTHER latest anti-abortion BS of the week, as if the death of Roe wasn't enough. This episode is a space to primal scream, cry, plot, unite, and laugh your ass off. The floor has fallen out — that was Roe —but the Feminist Buzzkills have plans, and you're a part of them. Here to help us get through the BS are two womb warriors who have been putting in the work for as long as we've known them. First off, we have one of our favorite legal minds, abortion genius and OG AAF podcast host Ashley Gray, senior advisor of state policy advocacy and strategic partnerships at the Center for Reproductive Rights! She's joining us to fume over Roe's murder, explain what this post-Roe dystopia will look like in a year, and lay out what we can all do about it. PLUS! Hilarious amazing abortion evangelist Busy Philipps is in the house and bringing some much needed pro-abortion joy! She dropped in to talk all things abortion, what she's been up to, raising kids in this hellscape we're all living in, and so much more. She got so real with us, we broke her interview up into TWO PARTS, baby! Catch part two on our next episode. The world is heavy right now, in between all the raging and fighting against the patriarchy, so show yourself some extra love. You are not alone. We got you! One of the best cricket books of the last year or so has to be "The Unforgiven", which is about the tale of the West Indian cricketers who went on the rebel tours to South Africa during the Apartheid era. Whereas English players who did the same thing returned home and resumed their careers - in some cases reaching the highest levels of the game - the West Indies guys were treated as outcasts, both within the game and also in society. We spoke to writer Ashley Gray about his excellent book, where he tells the often painful stories of those players who took the South African Rand in the hope of earning some money from the game of cricket. A must-buy using those book vouchers you got for Christmas!
