Hour 1 of https://RushToReason.com plunges listeners into a fast-moving, razor-sharp conversation about the future of AI, healthcare, education, and mental health. John Rush and guest Steve House unravel the myths and realities of artificial intelligence—asking whether we're facing a technological revolution or sleepwalking into unforeseen danger. Will AI become the greatest diagnostic tool in medical history, spotting disease earlier and cheaper than ever? Or will Big Pharma fight to keep control of the system AI threatens to expose? The hour also challenges America's failing education model. If AI can tailor learning to every student, why are we still trapped in a one-size-fits-all system designed for averages, not excellence? And what happens when deepfakes become indistinguishable from reality, or when AI avatars blur emotional and spiritual boundaries? John and Steve then tackle the more profound cultural questions: Why is European bread easier on the body than ours? Are we unintentionally creating a nation dependent on chronic disease? Has our mental health crisis worsened by constantly digging up the past instead of building a stronger future? Hour 1 mixes innovation, caution, and big-picture thinking—inviting listeners to ask: Are we ready for the world AI is about to create? HOUR 2 Hour 2 of Rush to Reason dives into one of the most misrepresented narratives in America: Are young people truly priced out of the housing market, or have expectations changed more than reality? With no guests this hour, John Rush takes calls, challenges the headlines, and breaks down why so many millennials believe homeownership is impossible—while others their age are quietly making it happen. Should a first-time buyer expect 2,400 square feet, designer finishes, and two new cars in the driveway? Or is the real path to wealth still found in sacrifice, fixer-uppers, and sweat equity? John dismantles the "can't afford a home" storyline by exposing the role of lifestyle inflation, comparison culture, and social media. He also reveals how Trump's newly lowered CAFE standards could immediately reduce the cost of new vehicles—something critics refuse to acknowledge. The hour ends with a look at Colorado's construction-defect law and its unintended consequence: wiping out starter condos that once made owning a home far more attainable. Hour 2 challenges everything you think you know about affordability, expectations, and building a life you can actually afford. HOUR 3 Hour 3 explodes with energy as John Rush and Jerzee Joe (https://www.youtube.com/@jerzeejoe3145) open with sharp cultural commentary, outrageous news stories, and a hard look at how the erosion of family structure is impacting crime, discipline, and society. Why are celebrities saying bizarre things? Why are harmless gun-range photos turning into arrests overseas? And what happens when statistics on fatherlessness collide with uncomfortable political truths? Then the hour pivots into a powerful economic deep dive with Scott Garliss of Bent Pine Capitol (https://x.com/CScottGarliss), who reveals what the Federal Reserve may do next—and how a single decision could ignite or stall the entire U.S. economy. Will the Fed begin cutting rates? Could mortgage portability reshape home ownership? And is the housing market one bold policy away from roaring back to life? From government overreach to Fed strategy, from climate hysteria to bank stability, Hour 3 is packed with provocative questions, sharp analysis, and insights you won't hear anywhere else.
Independent investigative journalism, broadcasting, trouble-making and muckraking with Brad Friedman of BradBlog.com
This episode of What's On Your Mind focuses on the deep-seated political and judicial problems in Minnesota, the national exposure of large-scale fraud, and the impact of government regulation. Scott also gets a weather update and discusses the volatile grain markets and civic engagement in North Dakota. Standout Moments Minnesota's Mess Goes National (0:01:07) [cite_start]Scott expresses amazement and gratitude that the massive fraud and corruption story in Minnesota is finally receiving national scrutiny. [cite_start]The corruption, starting with the Somali community and misusing welfare systems, is also noted to be happening in Maine and Michigan. Keith Ellison's Involvement in the Fraud (0:16:03) Former GOP AG candidate Ron Schutz (mistakenly introduced as Ryan) details how Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison met with the soon-to-be-indicted "Feeding Our Future" fraudsters in December 2021, weeks before the federal raid. [cite_start]Ellison allegedly offered to "help" them after they complained about getting a hard time with grants. [cite_start]Ellison's focus is criticized as being on suing the Trump administration instead of fighting fraud in Minnesota. The Judicial System's Role in Minnesota's Problems (0:23:05) [cite_start]Lieutenant Governor candidate Ryan Wilson (running with Lisa Damath) discusses the "soft on crime" judicial philosophy in Minnesota, noting that judges appointed by Democrats (including the last seven years by Tim Walz) are the problem. [cite_start]Wilson points to a $7.2 million fraud case where a judge overturned a jury's guilty verdict and a case where a convicted rapist was sentenced to only probation. Predicting Paid Family Leave Fraud (0:18:48) [cite_start]Both Scott and Ron Schutz predict the new Minnesota paid family medical leave program, effective January 1st and allowing up to 20 weeks of paid leave per year, will be "riddled with fraud", potentially involving healthcare providers providing false documentation. CAFE Standards and Affordability (0:11:34) [cite_start]Scott discusses the government's Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards, noting that President Trump is rolling back regulations that led to higher vehicle prices. [cite_start]He cites the CEO of Ford Motor Company who called the old rules "totally out of touch with the market reality" and confirms the rollback is a victory for affordability that will "bring car prices down" The Long List of Taxes That Didn't Exist 100 Years Ago (0:12:47) [cite_start]Scott reads a long, poetic list of different taxes and regulatory fees—from property and income tax to sales and liquor tax—and states that none of these taxes existed 100 years ago, when the US…
On this Friday edition, Scott tackles the "head-scratcher" of why passionate Trump voters stay home when the former President isn't on the ballot, risking his second-term agenda. Senator Kevin Cramer joins the Talk Radio Town Hall to discuss the economy, military spending, and the healthcare battle. The show also covers the latest in the Minnesota fraud scandal and a police update in Fargo. Standout Moments Fargo Police Update on Tyreek Jones (0:00:05) The Fargo Police Department is holding a press conference at 11 a.m. to update the investigation involving 20-year-old Tyreek Jones. Jones is being released from Hennepin County Jail after providing information that helps "redirect the focus of the investigation to another individual as a potential suspect." The Perplexing Trump Voter Midterm Gap (0:01:45) Scott opens with a "complete head-scratcher": Why do full-throated Trump supporters who go to rallies and wear red hats not vote in midterm elections, thus risking the power base Trump needs in Congress and the Senate? A listener suggests it's because "nobody else is as exciting as Trump" (0:09:47). Call for Somali Community Leadership on Crime/Fraud (0:02:29) Scott questions why there are no "bold, honest conversations" from Somali leaders condemning the "large percentage" of the community taking advantage of government programs and being responsible for a "high percentage" of law-breaking in Minnesota, Ohio, and Maine. He calls on law-abiding Somalis to "police your own." Senator Cramer on Health Care Subsidies (0:16:00) Senator Kevin Cramer discusses the battle over health care, calling the Democrat-supported extension of "extremely generous bonuses to insurance executives disguised as subsidies" a program "wrought with fraud" (0:16:51). He suggests Republicans will offer an alternative that includes a short-term transition to provide premium support and income caps on subsidies (0:17:35). Terminating Biden's CAFE Standards (0:24:29) A clip of President Trump and Senator Cramer announcing the termination of the "ridiculously burdensome" CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards is played. Cramer says this single event is more important than the tax cuts for small businesses and will lead to an "escalation of economic opportunity" in 2026. Fargo's ARC on Developmental Disabilities (0:04:08) Jeff Anderson from The ARC of Cass County joins for "Feel-Good Friday." He explains that the ARC supports people with developmental disabilities, focusing on integration in the community and running two local thrift stores to cover operating expenses. They are currently dreaming of resources to help those who "fall between the cracks" of…
Recent attacks & immigration/vetting Ben and Senator Cruz link a shooting of National Guard soldiers in Washington, D.C. to failures in vetting Afghan nationals admitted under “Operation Allies Welcome,” asserting a broader pattern of violence from inadequately vetted immigrants. They cite a TikTok bomb-threat arrest in Texas and connect these incidents to Biden administration policies. Border security and terrorism risk They argue that an “open” southern border has allowed individuals on terror watch lists to enter the U.S., warning of sleeper cells and describing human trafficking and violent crime as predictable outcomes of lax enforcement. Critique of Democratic officials & protests The conversation criticizes Rep. Rashida Tlaib for not condemning “Death to America” chants reportedly heard at a Dearborn, Michigan rally, framing this as emblematic of ideological refusal to confront radical Islamic terrorism. AI: geopolitical race & domestic skepticism The senator argues the U.S. must “win” the AI race against China to ensure global AI reflects American values. They note polling shows public anxiety about AI (job loss, distrust), and discuss local resistance to data center construction, energy needs, and the prospect of white‑collar job displacement. Auto policy: CAFE standards and EV mandates Ben and the Senator praise actions attributed to “the President” (portrayed as Donald Trump) to rescind tailpipe emissions standards, zero out CAFE standards via a “one big beautiful bill,” and roll back EV mandates—arguing these moves lower car prices, improve safety (heavier/steel cars vs. “plastic”), and boost U.S. auto jobs. They reference planned Senate Commerce Committee hearings with major automakers and Tesla. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. June 10, 2024 | New CAFE standards finalized; EV sounds represent tough challenge by Automotive News
The feds are tripling the fines that the automakers will have to pay for falling short of CAFE requirements over the next several years, even as they ramp up production of all-new electric vehicles.
Craig talks about the Trump administration's attempt to keep California for setting its own rules on air quality and auto emissions standards. Also, the ads are everywhere, warning about insurance companies, price fixing, and hospital closures in response to a problem with so called "surprise billing." Not surpising, there is some big money behind these ads.
Craig discusses the secret deal hashed out between California and four companies; Ford,VW,Honda and BMW, to bypass Trump on mileage standards. Also, we actually did hear important things in the Mueller hearings yesterday...the media shouldn't treat it like a cage match.
CAFE standards - will they be frozen, relaxed.
