The latest official labor data showed that the jobless rate shot up to double-digits, as millions of Filipinos became unemployed. The Philippine Statistics Agency reported that as of April 2020, there were around 7.3 million jobless Filipinos. Jobstreet, an online platform that has around 42,000 listings, saw two million visitors checking out their website from April to June. If you're looking for a job, forget those numbers. Career coach Caroline Ceniza-Levine says that the only numbers you should be concerned about are your own, whether in a pandemic or not. That means, tracking the number of applications you've sent out, the number of interviews you've landed, the number of callbacks you've gotten. Now those numbers are important to you as a job seeker. In this episode, Ms. Ceniza-Levine tells multimedia reporter Patricia B. Mirasol that the coronavirus is not the end of your career. She gives practical advice, from tips on how to handle online interviews to the two main skills that you have to be thinking about if you're looking for a job. Recorded remotely on July 29. Produced by Nina M. Diaz, Paolo L. Lopez, and Sam L. Marcelo.

They’ve come a long way -- from high school sweethearts to long-time spouses who've  reached financial independence. And, they have made it happen with real estate.   Today’s guests are Scott and Caroline Ceniza-Levine. They built a real estate portfolio and hit their financial goal in their late 40’s. Scott was able to retire from his IT job three years ago, and Caroline says she only works on “passion projects” because she is now job optional. They are from New York but spend much of their time at their current primary home in Northeast Florida. So what did it take to accomplish this task? What did they buy and where? Hint: They have a few rentals in Costa Rica. And, what tips would they like to share for other aspiring real estate investors?    I’m pleased to have Scott and Caroline with me today to share their story.   www.RealWealthShow.com

Today's guest is a career expert. Caroline Ceniza-Levine is the co-founder of SixFigureStart, a coaching business for professional and personal success. Caroline has worked with executives from major companies like American Express, Amazon, Conde Nast, Gilt, Goldman Sachs, Google and many others. Her latest book is out entitled, "Jump Ship: 10 Steps to Starting a New Career." A fun fact about Caroline, she's also a stand-up comic, so you could say she's not your typical coach. I love Caroline because her advice is really fresh and while she's a career expert, she's not going to give you some BS and tell you that your career is the most important thing in your life. She'll be the first to tell you that it isn't. This wouldn't be an episode about careers if you didn't dive into negotiation. We talk all about how to do it and how to deal with a crazy boss. Do you have one? You might have one in the future. What to do with a difficult boss who's making your job miserable. Personally, I have some experience with this, and I give some of my advice, too.
