Fasten your seatbelts, Fearless Army. Jason Whitlock is taking a flamethrower to "Mount Bustmore" — a monument to the disastrous DEI-driven takeover of sports media, embodied by Joy Taylor, Katie Nolan, Jemele Hill, and Mina Kimes. This isn't just criticism; it's an all-out assault on the feminization of sports talk and the catastrophic failures that result. Why is the WNBA under investigation? What's behind Joy Taylor's bizarre commentary on Aaron Rodgers? We're connecting the dots, exposing the agenda, and naming names. This episode pulls no punches. Terry Bradshaw rips Aaron Rodgers, and we dissect every angle. But this show isn't just about outrage; it's about solutions. This is the only show that dares to confront the uncomfortable truths, the only place where the sacred cows are slaughtered, and the only voice that refuses to be silenced. Meet our friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four Tuesday takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. CDC 86's Covid Vax Hour 1 of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show kicks off with Clay Travis solo-hosting as Buck Sexton recovers from the flu. Clay reflects on Memorial Day, honoring the sacrifices of American service members, and shares highlights from his visit to the Indy 500, emphasizing the strong presence of Clay and Buck listeners. The hour dives into major political and cultural topics, starting with breaking news: the CDC has officially removed the COVID-19 vaccine from its recommended immunization schedule for healthy children and pregnant women. Clay highlights this as a significant reversal of previous federal health mandates and criticizes the Biden administration and legacy media for their role in promoting what he calls “COVID shot propaganda.” He underscores the personal and professional consequences many Americans faced for refusing the vaccine, including job loss and social ostracization. Riley Gaines on Fame The long-term consequences of COVID-19 policies, the erosion of trust in public health institutions, and the ongoing controversy surrounding transgender athletes in women’s sports. Clay Travis, hosting solo, opens the hour by reacting to breaking news that the COVID-19 vaccine has been removed from the recommended list for children and pregnant women—a decision that sparks a broader conversation about government overreach, vaccine mandates, and the psychological toll of pandemic-era restrictions. Clay is joined by former NCAA swimmer and women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines, who shares her personal experiences with COVID-era mandates while competing at the University of Kentucky. Gaines recounts the extreme and often illogical protocols athletes endured, including wearing masks between swim laps and facing pressure to get vaccinated despite natural immunity. She reflects on the broader impact of school closures and social isolation on young people, emphasizing how these policies robbed students of formative life experiences. The conversation shifts to the ongoing debate over biological males competing in women’s sports. Gaines and Travis discuss recent incidents, including a viral protest by a female athlete in California and former President Donald Trump’s public condemnation of transgender participation in women’s competitions. Gaines criticizes the Democratic Party’s unwavering support for these policies and highlights the bravery of young women standing up for fairness in sports. She also addresses personal attacks from media figures like Jemele Hill and Keith Olbermann, reinforcing her commitment to advocating for women’s rights and equal opportunities. Dr. Marty Makary, FDA Commissioner Clay welcomes newly appointed FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary, who, alongside Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and RFK Jr. announced the removal of the COVID shot recommendation for healthy children and pregnant women. Dr. Makary explains the need to restore scientific integrity and transparency in public health, criticizing the previous administration’s reliance on unproven theories and lack of clinical trial data. He emphasizes the importance of rebuilding trust by focusing on chronic disease prevention, food quality, and environmental health. Dr. Makary also reflects on the failures of school closures, the disproportionate impact on low-income and minority communities, and the long-term mental health consequences for children. He calls for a renewed commitment to evidence-based medicine and civil discourse, warning against the dangers of censorship and politicization in science. President Trump Endorses Clay's New Book! the Democratic Party’s struggle to connect with young male voters, the cultural alienation of boys, and the broader implications for American society and politics. Clay opens the hour by discussing a recent New York Times article detailing a $20 million Democratic initiative—codenamed SAM (Speaking with American Men)—aimed at reversing the party’s declining support among young men. He critiques the effort as tone-deaf and disconnected from the realities of modern masculinity, drawing parallels to themes in his upcoming book, Balls: How Trump, Young Men, and Sports Saved America, which has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Throughout the segment, Clay shares personal anecdotes and cultural observations that highlight the erosion of male identity in contemporary America. He recounts a moment with his son in a Target store, where the overwhelming presence of “girl power” messaging sparked a realization about the lack of positive male representation. He also discusses the impact of COVID-19 lockdowns on boys, particularly the cancellation of sports and school activities, which he argues contributed to a growing sense of disenfranchisement among young men. Wood discusses online and soc media's "Black Fatigue" thing, questioning if it's really a rejection of certain aspects of Black culture. A good, informative interview of Lanny Smith, the founder of the Actively Black apparel brand, on Jemele Hill's Spolitics podcast changed Wood's stance "wearing Black." A few series have been getting pushed through the IAP queue of late with AppleTV+ dominating the rotation. Wood shares some thoughts on two seasons of Shrinking, Dope Thief, Jon Hamm's Your Friends & Neighbors, plus shares his final praises on the series finale of Bosch Legacy (Prime Video).

Tonight, we're diving into the chaos of the day...because there's a lot. First up: Trump's tariff “win” that's actually a loss. He blinked, paused the China tariffs, and now he's trying to spin it like a masterstroke. Don't fall for it. When the markets tank and you retreat, that's called backing down, not “playing 4D chess.” Then we get into the deeply telling policy shift: White South African farmers are being granted refugee status, while Black and brown refugees are being thrown into mass detention centers with no due process. Tell us more about how this isn't about race. And finally, we'll bring you the latest in the Diddy trial. What happened in court today, what's next, and what it means as this high-profile case unfolds. Joining us tonight: journalist and author Jemele Hill, and attorney and author Areva Martin...two sharp minds to help us unpack it all. Grab a drink. It's going to be a ride.
Jemele Hill argues on CNN that men playing women’s sports is the modern day version of MLK’s Civil Rights movement See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jemele Hill drops a TRUTH BOMB on why Shedeur Sanders dropped in the draft! REJECTS the RACE CARD!
Jemele Hill was a guest on CNN this week to discuss Shedeur Sanders falling in the NFL Draft. Jemele Hill has become known for taking advantage of stories involving race...but Jemele Hill surprisingly confirmed that Shedeur Sanders falling in the NFL Draft had nothing to do with race. We reveal and react to Jemele Hill refuting false claims about Shedeur Sanders. We discuss Jemele Hill being the voice of reason...and commend Jemele Hill for speaking common-sense. We also question why Jemele Hill is suddenly doing this...and whether Jemele Hill is trying to appeal to a broader audience. Jemele Hill was recently interviewed about her departure from ESPN...which happened seven years ago. During the interview with Rick Strom...Jemele Hill explained that race was the primary reason she was fired by ESPN. We reveal and react to this interview with Jemele Hill. We explain the real reason that Jemele Hill was fired by ESPN. We also discuss the handful of media opportunities that Jemele Hill landed after ESPN...and how each opportunity ended in failure. We explain why Jemele Hill consistently underperforms...and how Jemele Hill blames instead of learning from her mistakes. SUBSCRIBE TO BEHIND THE LINE - SHORTS: https://www.youtube.com/@btlshorts-84
Jemele Hill appeared on CNN Thursday night...with Abby Phillip and Scott Jennings. The CNN panel was discussing the Trump tariffs...and Jemele Hill made an outlandish statement. Scott Jennings was quick to ask for clarification...and Jemele Hill stumbled while attempting to find an answer. We reveal and react to this CNN segment with Jemele Hill. We also react to a CNN segment between Kaitlan Collins and Tom Homan. We question why Kaitlan Collins is relentlessly fighting for the return of Kilmar Garcia...and why Kaitlan Collins and CNN seem to be on the wrong side of every issue. This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit zeteo.comLive from New York — it's ‘We're Not Kidding'! This past week, Mehdi traveled to the ‘On Air Fest' in Brooklyn for a very special LIVE taping of ‘WNK' with award-winning sports journalist and broadcaster Jemele Hill. You may remember Jemele from the first Trump administration, when political ‘nepo baby' and then-White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called for ESPN to fire Jemele for calling Donald Trump a white supremacist. In this wide-ranging conversation, Mehdi and Jemele discuss Trump and Elon Musk's recent attacks on the press and the dangerous behavior of mainstream journalists who value access over solidarity. They also dig into the crucial intersection of sports and politics, including Trump's historic Super Bowl appearance, the capitulation of (some) professional sports leagues, the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics, and whether the NFL is responsible for Trump running for president. “To be honest, I sort of blame the NFL because we have to deal with Trump in this capacity,” Jemele says. Jemele Hill has made a name for herself speaking truth to power as a journalist. She is also masterful at synthesizing the intersection of sports and politics. During his first administration, Hill was willing to go where many of her peers wouldn't when she famously called out Donald Trump. Jen Psaki sits down with the “Spolitics” host and Atlantic writer to get her take on what she thinks Democrats should be doing to show voters they are willing to fight back. Jen Psaki explains why Donald Trump's embrace of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is an attempt to justify his own behavior and why we should expect people across the country to continue to push back. Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice joins Jen to discuss the concerning implications of Trump turning his back on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Next, Jen is joined by Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich to discuss the chaos caused by Elon Musk emailing a request for federal workers to justify their work or resign while department heads urge their employees not to respond. Then, Jen breaks down NYC Mayor Eric Adams's decade-long ties to Turkey as the saga of his corruption case continues. Former Manhattan DA Cy Vance joins the show to react to the latest in the Adams case, including a federal judge's ruling to adjourn the trial rather than dismiss the case outright. Jen is also joined by attorney Omar Gonzalez-Pagan, as well as a student activist, Niro, and her mother Manija - who are pushing back against Trump's executive order targeting the trans community. A recent article just surfaced discussing Deion Sanders' motivation to work in the NFL. Coach Prime may be manipulating the Cowboys to use as leverage when negotiating his contract with Colorado. Deion is kind of like Simon Cowell: always hopping around from place to place, never fully committing to one to reap the benefits of the unknown. Whitlock, joined by Steve Kim, makes the analogy while also throwing LeBron into that comparison. The NFL head coaching frenzy has begun, and the Patriots have already found their man for the future. Who will be the next team to fill their vacancy? It's Wednesday, so you know what that means. Tennessee Harmony! Kevin Donahue, Virgil Walker, and Athony Walker talk about the recent rise in the openly spoken faith of college athletes, especially college football. Both teams in the national title game have outspoken leaders championing Jesus in their locker rooms. Do you believe it now? After an abysmal and underwhelming 7-10 season, the Dallas Cowboys need to hit the reset button. Just yesterday, Jerry Jones fired head coach Mike McCarthy and is now in the market for a new captain to run the ship. Everything's bigger in Texas, and a big brand like the Cowboys needs a big brand at the head. Who better than Whitlock's bitter rival, Coach Prime, Deion Sanders? Does Jerry Jones have the guts to pull the trigger on what could be the talk of the sports world? LeBron James has a dirty little secret, and it may just have been exposed. As rumors spread about pop star Drake helping LeBron James cheat on his wife, Whitlock recounts the constant effort to paint LeBron as a family man. If this story holds up just like the books LeBron reads, there must be some deceit. Steve Kim joins to talk about Jemele Hill's most recent edition of Justice for TT. The IAP house lost its most cherished, valued and trusted person. The valiant and year-long battle of Wood's wife was recurring topic through much 2024, and her last week in this world prompted an immediate halt to the podcast. Wood reflects on his 21-year marriage, and shares what can be shared because this ordeal was the epitome of personal - and what IAP is all about. Over the rest of the podcast Wood attempts to get back to the scope of IAP. Let's just get the unyielding fixation on 'Blackness' out of the way for the start of 2025. This episode's mentions are John Hope Bryant's empowering messaging on Jemele Hill's new podcast Spolitics, Hill's flawed 'racism' angle about the Lamar Jackson-Josh Allen NFL MVP race, Black America vs Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman, Blackness relevance in the 2024 NFL Playoffs and Black TV/streaming (50 Cent vs Omari Hardwick).

There is a tension brewing in the studio between David Samson and Andrew Hawkins because Hawk appears to have the sniffles this morning. Can our resident germaphobe last an entire hour in the same studio with Hawk sneezing and coughing? Plus, Hawk gives us his thoughts on Bill Belichick being hired as the head coach at the University of North Carolina. Then, Our Friendly Neighborhood Race Lady, Jemele Hill, joins the show to discuss Caitlin Clark being named Time's Athlete of the Year and discussing her place as a white athlete in her interview for the story. While Jemele is with us, we go to the Bucket of Death and she tells us whether the window for her San Francisco 49ers has closed. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Netflix and chill? More like Netflix and “this makes us ill.” After the streaming platform failed to manage a smooth broadcast for the Paul v. Tyson fight, Netflix looks to capitalize on the Christmas Day football games. Jason is left bewildered as Netflix announced it is looking to bring on Mina Kimes and Kay Adams for a special NFL Christmas doubleheader. Netflix also released its trailer of a new upcoming documentary on Aaron Rodgers. Steve Kim and Butter join the show to point out that the trailer revealed that the film crew followed Rodgers all the way to Egypt when he skipped OTAs at the start of the season. How's that working out for him thus far? Joining “Fearless” is Sid Rosenberg, reporter on 77 WABC New York radio, author, actor, and host of New York's #1 radio show, “Sid and Friends in the Morning,” to discuss the evolving Daniel Penny trial. Whitlock also looks to the future to the real rivalry that will catapult the WNBA to new heights. Shemeka later brings to light the unhinged anger from black women like Jemele Hill and Leslie Jones, who can't seem to overcome their disdain for everything Trump and MAGA stands for. Finally, we are joined by Anthony Walker, Virgil Walker, and Kevin Donahue on Tennessee Harmony to expand on the trend of traditional Christianity in young men. SPOLITICS is where we don't just stick to sports, but examine the world and all of its complexities through the lens of sports. Each week, this podcast will enthusiastically explore the intersection between sports, race, gender, sexuality and culture. In this narrative-style podcast, expect sharp commentary, novel conversations, and compelling guests that will drive nuanced sports conversations that drive culture.JEMELE HILL BIO An Emmy Award winning journalist, Jemele Hill is the Co-founder of Lodge Freeway Media and a contributing writer for The Atlantic. On October 25, 2022, Henry Holt and Company published Hill's memoir, UPHILL: A Memoir. In this character-rich, unapologetically provocative memoir, Hill reveals her tumultuous childhood, complicated family dynamics, and her life-saving journey into journalism. Hill's 20-plus year journalism career has included stops at the biggest sports media network and several reputable newspapers. She originally joined ESPN in 2006 as a national columnist for espn.com. Her profile gradually rose as she began to make appearances on television, including SportsCenter, First Take, Around the Horn, The Sports Reporters and Outside the Lines. She also spent a season as a sideline reporter for ESPN college football games. Her foray into daily television began in 2013, when her and co-host Michael Smith began the daily, sports discussion show, His & Hers, which sprang from their popular podcast of the same name. In February 2017, Hill and Smith co-anchored the 6 p.m., SportsCenter, which debuted as a more personality-driven approach to the traditional SportsCenter. After her stint as SportsCenter host, Hill was a senior columnist for The Undefeated, ESPN's sub-site that focuses on the intersection of sports, race, culture and politics. In addition to breaking ground as a podcaster, Hill continued her celebrated television broadcasting career. In 2020, Hill and her longtime friend, former ESPN anchor Cari Champion, launched a weekly, late-night show on Vice Network called Cari & Jemele: Won't Stick to Sports. The show covered politics, sports, news, current events, and pop culture. Hill is also stretching her muscles behind the camera. She is executive producer of former NFL quarterback and civil rights activist Colin Kaepernick's documentary, which will air on ESPN and is directed by legendary filmmaker Spike Lee. She also is currently developing a comedy series with acclaimed actress Gabrielle Union.Uphill: A Memoirhttps://a.co/d/7qhPXO3One of Oprah Daily's Best Fall Nonfiction Books of 2022An empowering, unabashedly bold memoir by the Atlantic journalist and former ESPN SportsCenter coanchor about overcoming a legacy of pain and forging a new path, no matter how uphill life's battles might be.Jemele Hill's world came crashing down when she called President Trump a “white supremacist”; the White House wanted her fired from ESPN, and she was deluged with death threats. But Hill had faced tougher adversaries growing up in Detroit than a tweeting president. Beneath the exterior of one of the most recognizable journalists in America was a need―a calling―to break her family's cycle of intergenerational trauma.Born in the middle of a lively routine Friday night Monopoly game to a teen mother and a heroin-addicted father, Hill constantly adjusted to the harsh realities of not only her own childhood but the inherited generational pain of her mother and grandmother. Her escape was writing.Hill's mother was less than impressed with the brassy and bold free expression of her diary, but Hill never stopped discovering and amplifying her voice. Through hard work and a constant willingness to learn, Hill rose from newspaper reporter to columnist to new heights as the coanchor for ESPN's revered SportsCenter. Soon, she earned respect and support for her fearless opinions and unshakable confidence, as well as a reputation as a trusted journalist who speaks her mind with truth and conviction. In Jemele Hill's journey Uphill, she shares the whole story of her work, the women of her family, and her complicated relationship with God in an unapologetic, character-rich, and eloquent memoir.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/i-am-refocused-radio--2671113/support.

Athletes like Angel Reese & Sha'Carri Richardson have so brilliantly led women's sports into the national spotlight, but with this has come lots of negative attention and straight-up negligent media coverage of these athletes and their sports. I wanted to hear from Black Women Sports journalists both in front of and behind the camera to explore what's needed to correct some of these biased narratives. Joining me for this Black women in sports media roundtable are supervising producer Jasmine Ellis, and Emmy-award winning journalist Jemele Hill. Jasmine has worked on shows such as Sue Bird & Megan Rapinoe's "A Touch More,” Speak.Easy for CNN+, and ESPNS's SC6. And Jemele, making her return to the TBG Podcast, is a contributing writer for The Atlantic where she covers the intersection between sports, race, politics, gender and culture. During our conversation, we discussed the barriers that exist for Black women to enter the sports media space, the importance of cultural competency when covering women's sports, and why we can't just “stick to sports” when talking about female athletes. SERIES 2 EPISODE 222: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: As reports mount that she'll select her Vice Presidential running mate next Monday or Tuesday, Kamala Harris - ten days into her campaign - surges into the lead in the swing states: Michigan: Kamala Harris 53 Trump 42 Arizona: Harris 49 Trump 47 Wisconsin: Harris 49 Trump 47 Nevada: Harris 47 Trump 45 Georgia: Harris 47 Trump 47 North Carolina: Trump 48 Harris 46 Pennsylvania: Trump 50 Harris 46 Seven Swing States Combined in these polls by Morning Consult for BLOOMBERG News: Harris 48 Trump 47 or as they headlined it “Harris erases Trump's Swing State Lead.” But Nate Silver told me Harris only has a 38 percent chance of winning, the New York Times told me this is just a "honeymoon" period (a term for the time AFTER a VP is chosen and a convention is held) and Axios told me Trump is selecting his cabinet. Explaining the polls, and the media's inability to believe anything that never happened before is happening now. B-Block (30:38) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Honorary mention, me, for coughing on the podcast yesterday. So now Matt Gaetz is OPPOSED to electoral losers insisting they really had won? Laura Loomer makes up a story no crazier than the other stories she's made up and got mad at all of us for taking her seriously. And the National Association of Black Journalists is entitled to host Trump for an interview at its convention. It is NOT allowed to let him bring his own pet propagandist with him to "interview" him. C-Block (44:33) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: In those days there was no internet, no ESPN, no CNN, and no weekday national sportscasts. So when the captain of the New York Yankees crashed his private plane 45 years ago this Friday, it was left to eight or so network radio sports guys to cover the nightmare in real time.
