The legal record of the Duggar family now spans federal conviction, active felony charges in a second case, misdemeanor charges against a spouse, and a documented history of institutional and familial failures to report that have produced no legal consequences for the individuals who made those choices. This week's look back at the most consequential legal developments examines the full procedural arc. Josh Duggar's federal case began with an April 2021 arrest on charges of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. At trial, the investigating agent testified the material recovered from Josh's work computer included images of children as young as eighteen months old, representing some of the most serious content the agent had encountered. December 2021: guilty on both counts. May 2022: sentenced to approximately twelve and a half years. Initial appeal denied. Currently incarcerated in a federal facility in Texas. Before the federal case, Josh's adult history included his role as executive director of FRC Action — the political arm of the Family Research Council — where he lobbied Congress on conservative family values. A 2015 civil lawsuit alleging serious misconduct was settled without court adjudication. That same year, public disclosure of his prior conduct toward minors forced his resignation from FRC Action. The Ashley Madison data breach subsequently revealed a paid account. Josh issued a public statement admitting infidelity and pornography addiction. While Josh awaited trial, Jim Bob Duggar launched a pro-family Arkansas State Senate campaign. He finished third out of four candidates with approximately 15 percent of the vote.Joseph Duggar's case is now active in two jurisdictions. In Florida, he faces charges of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious contact, with bond set at $600,000 and arraignment scheduled for April 20. According to the Bay County arrest affidavit, the now-14-year-old victim disclosed alleged incidents during a 2020 family vacation, and Joseph allegedly admitted the conduct on two documented occasions. In Arkansas, both Joseph and his wife Kendra face four counts each of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree false imprisonment. Joseph is presumed innocent on all charges. The institutional ledger remains unresolved. Bill Gothard — more than 34 accusers, no criminal charges, 91 years old, denies all allegations. IBLP — never charged, continues to operate, with a 2025 Texas Supreme Court ruling allowing a civil action to proceed. Jim Bob Duggar — sworn testimony found not credible in a federal judicial finding, documented history of managing abuse allegations internally, no criminal charges or civil liability adjudicated. The legal system has convicted one person in this family. The question this series raises is whether that accounting is complete.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
The timeline of Josh Duggar's adult life reads like a case study in how systems protect people until they can't anymore. He leveraged his television fame into a political career lobbying Congress on behalf of conservative Christian family values. He was the executive director of FRC Action, the political arm of the Family Research Council. And the entire time, according to the federal case that eventually brought him down, something else was happening on his work computer. This week we look back at the concluding chapters of our five-part Duggar examination. Before the federal charges, Josh's trajectory included a 2015 civil lawsuit alleging serious misconduct, settled without court adjudication. That same year, his conduct toward minors — documented in a police report from years earlier — became public. The Ashley Madison data breach followed, revealing a paid account. Josh resigned from FRC Action and made a public statement admitting infidelity and describing a pornography addiction. In April 2021, federal agents arrested him at his home while his wife was seven months pregnant with their seventh child. At trial, the investigating agent testified that the material recovered from Josh's work computer included images of children as young as eighteen months — material the agent described as among the most serious he had encountered. Guilty verdict: December 2021. Sentence: approximately twelve and a half years. Appeal denied. Currently incarcerated in Texas. Then the pattern repeated. In March 2026, Joseph Duggar was arrested on felony charges after a now-14-year-old victim disclosed alleged molestation during a 2020 family vacation. According to the Bay County arrest affidavit, Joseph allegedly admitted the conduct twice — to the victim's father and to detectives. He is presumed innocent and faces proceedings in Florida. The full accounting across this series: Bill Gothard — more than 34 accusers, zero criminal charges, denies everything, 91 years old, still online. Josh's earliest victims — no criminal prosecution for those acts. Jim Bob — testified under oath at Josh's pretrial hearing that he couldn't remember, found not credible by a federal judge in writing, no legal consequences. IBLP — never charged, still operating. Joseph's case — active, presumed innocent. One system built this. The record shows what it protected.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Josh Duggar went from lobbying Congress on family values to a federal courtroom where an investigator testified the material on his work computer included images of children as young as eighteen months old. Joseph Duggar allegedly admitted to molesting a 9-year-old — twice — and was arrested on felony charges. And the system that produced both of them has never been charged with anything. This week's review of the most significant stories features the concluding episodes of Hidden Killers' five-part Duggar series, which traces the complete arc from Josh's political career through his federal sentencing and then lays the full generational and institutional accounting on the table.Josh Duggar's trajectory through conservative Washington — executive director of FRC Action, public speeches on protecting families — collapsed in stages. A 2015 civil lawsuit settled without adjudication. Public exposure of his prior conduct toward minors. The Ashley Madison breach revealing a paid account for extramarital affairs. A public admission of infidelity and pornography addiction. Then the federal arrest in April 2021. His wife was seven months pregnant with their seventh child. At trial, the investigating agent characterized the material as among the most serious he'd encountered in his career. Guilty verdict: December 2021. Sentenced: approximately twelve and a half years. Appeal denied. Currently incarcerated. While Josh awaited trial, Jim Bob Duggar announced a pro-family Arkansas State Senate campaign. He finished third. The accounting across the full series is stark. Bill Gothard — founder of the institute the Duggars called home — has been accused by more than 34 women of harassment and abuse, denied everything, and at 91 has never faced a criminal charge. Josh's earliest victims never saw a prosecution for the specific acts committed against them. Jim Bob's sworn testimony at Josh's federal pretrial hearing was found not credible by Federal Judge Timothy Brooks in a written finding. No legal consequences followed. IBLP has never been charged and continues to operate. Joseph's case is active; he is presumed innocent. The series asks what the legal system has actually held accountable — and what it hasn't.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? You love your pastor, but why won't he address crucial cultural, moral, or political issues from the pulpit? Is there anything that you or your church can do about it? Furthermore, what risks lie ahead for faithful pastors who do actually speak out against the culture and rightly stand up for the truth of God's Word? For this midweek podcast episode, pro-life advocate and political leader, Tony Perkins, returns to talk more about the need for Christians and pastors to engage in political issues, and to defend the biblical worldview in the public square. If your pastor or your church seems totally disengaged from the political world, how can you inspire a change of heart? Why do so many pastors choose to remain quiet on culturally taboo issues like the right to life and natural marriage? And what resources are available for those who want to lead the charge and equip people in the church on where the candidates and parties stand on the most important issues? Frank and Tony will discuss all of this and MUCH more in the conclusion of their talk on faith and politics! To view the entire VIDEO PODCAST be sure to join our CrossExamined private community. It's Monday, January 9th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Brave Indonesian pastor teaching about Christ to students in Muslim country Located in the Muslim-majority country of Indonesia, Pastor Arib was told they could no longer meet in their church building to worship, which they had been doing for two years, but now had to meet in people's homes instead, reports International Christian Concern. Additionally, Pastor Arib saw that one of the local schools did not offer a course where students could learn about religions besides Islam. He volunteered to teach a Christian education course for free. Initially, the school principal disapproved of Christian religious lessons because the school was predominantly Muslim, but Arib insisted. Finally, the school board approved his request, and he now teaches his class every Friday. Because both his church and the school lack Bibles in their local Indonesian language, they requested and received 60 copies from International Christian Concern. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. ” McCarthy becomes House Speaker, but on a short leash After 14 failed votes for House Speaker, Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy of California was elected as the 55th House Speaker in the early hours of Saturday, January 7th by a vote of 216–212, reports The Epoch Times. But, thanks to 20 courageous conservatives, his coveted prize came with major strings attached. The key compromise is his willingness to agree to a rule change that allows just one Congressman to move to vacate the speaker's chair, giving McCarthy a fragile grip on power. That concession is found in subsection “q” of the new House rules package. Were this motion to be invoked, McCarthy would need a majority of 218 votes to remain as House speaker. Attorney Jenna Ellis, who represented the 2020 Trump campaign, tweeted, “This effectively neuters McCarthy.” Such a motion would be made via a so-called “privileged resolution,” which supersedes all other business except adjournment. In terms of McCarthy's House Speaker victory, while it normally takes 218 votes—a majority of the House—to become speaker, that threshold can be reduced if members are absent or merely vote present. It's precisely this maneuver that enabled McCarthy to cross the finish line, as six Republicans voted “present” instead of “yea” in the final vote. They include Reps. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Eli Crane (R-Ariz.), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Bob Good (R-Va.), and Matt Rosendale (R-Mont.). Joker gets pregnant in new comic book In the latest comic featuring the Joker, he gets pregnant, reports ComicBook.com. To their shame. the executives at D.C. Comics continue to groom and indoctrinate the next generation with their sexual perversion. By definition, and according to God's divine design, men cannot get pregnant. That includes Bruce Jenner! Send a letter of complaint to Diane Nelson, President, DC Comics, 4000 Warner Blvd, Burbank, CA 91522. CVS & Walgreens will dispense abortion pill Following the Food and Drug Administration's decision to loosen abortion pill distribution regulations, America's top pharmacy chains CVS and Walgreens announced their plans to dispense the lethal drugs, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Last Tuesday, the FDA updated its website to reflect new guidelines on abortion pill access, which now allows retail pharmacies to carry mifepristone which, used alongside misoprostol, causes the deaths of unborn babies at early stages of development. Family Research Council Action writes, “Abortion-inducing drugs take the lives of unborn children and are much likelier to cause a negative health outcome for pregnant women than surgical abortions. Studies show these drugs include a 53% greater risk of a complication than after a surgical abortion. The last thing any of us should want is to see our local CVS or Walgreens become an abortion business! Pharmacies are places where we go for treatment for ailments, and to alleviate suffering, but CVS and Walgreens would turn them into places of death for the unborn and pain for women.” Join 20,000 concerned citizens and sign the FRC Action petition through our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. Plus, to object more personally, call CVS President Karen Lynch at 1-401-765-1500. (Or you can write her at CVS Headquarters One CVS Dr. Woonsocket, RI 02895.) To express your dissatisfaction with Walgreens, call James Skinner, the CEO, at 1-847-914-2500. (Or write him at Walgreens, 200 Wilmont Road, Deerfield, IL 60015.) 65% of Protestant churchgoers spend time alone with God daily A new study by Lifeway Research found that 65% of Protestant churchgoers spend time alone with God at least once daily. The study found respondents were more likely to pray than to read the Bible. About 80% said they pray, and 39% said they read the Bible or a devotional. Those who attend church weekly were more likely to read the Bible during their devotional time (at 70%) than those who attend less frequently (at 52%). Psalm 88:13 says, “But I, O Lord, cry to You; in the morning my prayer comes before You.” Crocs promotes drag queen shows for kids And finally, Christians are tossing their Crocs. The leftist footwear company is sparking outrage for cosponsoring an upcoming RuPaul DragCon UK event, which is being advertised as open to anyone UNDER the age of 18. That's right – minors! Plus, Taylor Hansen tweeted that “it appears that Crocs is not only promoting children dressing in drag to perform for adults, but has fully subscribed to the woke mind virus. In their ads they promote drag queens, being ‘non-binary,' coming out as Queer, and [homosexual] Pride Month.” In the second Crocs ad, two homosexual actors rave about all their different styles of Crocs before they head to the baptism of a “mean gay baby.” In the third Crocs ad, a lesbian couple, who had a faux homosexual wedding, talk about announcing their sexual perversion and getting married. And, in the fourth Crocs ad, they feature a collage of all their previous ads celebrating unnatural desires. If you object to Crocs affirming homosexual behavior which is unhealthy and unbiblical as well as exposing impressionable children to sexually perverse drag queen shows, call Crocs at 1-866-306-3179. (Or write Andrew Rees, CEO of Crocs, 13601 Via Varra, Broomfield, CO 80020.) Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Monday, January 9th, in the year of our Lord 2023. Jim began with news that the White House announced this morning that President Biden checked positive for COVID-19. He's experiencing mild symptoms and is now taking Paxlovid. Jim encouraged listeners to pray for him.--Just after 5pm this past Monday, VCY America received an alert from the Family Research Council indicating that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was scheduling a vote on legislation to codify so-called same-sex marriage the following day.--In an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote in both houses of Congress, the Defense of Marriage Act was approved in 1996 and signed into law by then President Bill Clinton. But now, because of the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, there's concern from the -left- that other measures they embrace might be overturned.--Pelosi acted very quickly to bring about this vote in the House. Within about 24 hours of its introduction, they passed it -known as HR8404- by a vote of 267-157. In the Senate, the legislation is known as S.4556.--HR8404 says, -It is to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and ensure respect for state regulation of marriage and for other purposes.- Actually, it appears to disrespect the state regulation of marriage. After all, if a state has a defense of marriage act in place, this law would negate that, saying that if any state allows for the marriage of two individuals, they must accept so-called same-sex marriage.--This program is highlighted by comments from a column by Todd Starnes, one from the Washington Stand, related headlines from Lifesite News, FRC Action and more, including Jim's listing of the 47 Republicans that joined Democrats to thumb their noses at the biblical definition of marriage.
