It's back-to-school season, which means new routines, new books, and maybe even a little extra stress for kids (and the adults who love them). To help ease the transition, we're diving into comfort reads for Middle Grade and YA readers. In this episode, Joe is joined by the incredible Rex Ogle, author of heartfelt and vulnerable stories for young readers. Rex opens up about his writing process, how books can help kids navigate tough times, the importance of watching for signs of bullying, and what's next for both him and his alter ego, Rey Terciero. Then, in segment two, Joe and Meara share their latest Middle Grade and YA favorites—full of witches, hauntings, and just the right amount of spooky fun. From meaningful conversations to magical book picks, this episode has something for everyone: whether you have kids in your life or you're a kid at heart. Looking for the video version of our show? Repeat entrepreneurs who have just entered their seventies, Pharos Brands' co-founders Mary Eggers Bernuth and Rhyno Stinchfield are no rookies to starting something new. They're equally unabashed in their enthusiasm for introducing fellow baby boomers to the benefits of consuming cannabis beverages. We sit down with Pharos' Mary Bernuth to talk about what led her to expanding beyond a successful psychotherapy practice to enter the exciting, if unpredictable world of cannabis. We also talk about her passion for introducing that new world to a generation of her peers, and how they're investing in the category for the long haul.Mentioned in this episode:Pharos BrandsWe'd like to thank our sponsor, Go Brewing! THESE EPISODES WERE RECORDED 10 YEARS AGO, PLEASE FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSESGuy and Tim are back! Now separated by different seas and timezones, Tim is recording from a five-star resort in Thailand while Guy has just arrived into Sydney, Australia. With a renewed vigour and keen desire to add some Grown Ups 2 back to the mix, the lads are well and truly back after a significant absence. Loaded with more conspiratorial theories on Michael Patrick King, Mr Big (and his Big Book of Ideas) and a surprisingly long chat on Sony's beleaguered Minidisc technology - this truly is an unmissable chapter of the journey.Support the boys on their modern-day adventures at twioat.substack.com Hosted on Acast. THESE EPISODES WERE RECORDED 10 YEARS AGO, PLEASE FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSESGuy and Tim decide to try and form a drinking game out of Sex and The City 2. Just like the Grown Ups 2 version of the game, things get messy quickly and the rules are less than obvious. Discussions of America's holiday pay, Charlotte's ample bossomed nanny and violent threats from Tim against Guy are all on the table. The lads also seem to have a strong yearning to return to their season one Sandlerific movie, which just goes to show: The grass is always greener on the other side. Hosted on Acast. At 54, exhausted and running on empty, Monique van Tulder did something radical — she walked away from the life that was draining her. What started as a small step — changing lightbulbs in another house — turned into five months of solitude, adventure, and self-discovery. She calls it A Grown Up's Gap Year. In this conversation, Monique shares the truth so many women over 50 will recognise: years of putting everyone else first, of pushing through fatigue and health scares, of saying yes when they wanted to say no. Her story begins not with adventure, but with depletion — thyroid cancer, low iron, invisible burnout — and a quiet longing to feel like herself again. What followed was a journey that was both terrifying and exhilarating: arriving alone in a silent Austrian village, leaping off cliffs to prove she still had courage, and slowly rediscovering joy, creativity, and her own voice. She came home renewed, lighter, and ready to name herself Project Fabulous Woman — a reminder that her own health, joy, and worth matter too. This episode is not just about leaving home. It's about permission. Monique reframes midlife and shows how any woman, anywhere, can create her own version of a gap year. Even fifteen minutes a day can be the spark of transformation. Whether you're feeling burnt out, invisible, or simply craving something more, Monique's story is a powerful reminder: midlife is not the end of the story. It's the perfect season to begin again. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why women so often hit burnout in midlife — and how to recognise the signs. How Monique turned a small act of escape into a life-changing adventure. The role of fear, courage, and joy in rediscovering yourself. What it means to become your own “Project Fabulous Woman.” Simple tools like “Kind Starts” and mini gap years you can use right now. And now for something completely different. The Odyssey portion of our tour is over, and the Iliad portion will now begin. But wait! Wasn't the Iliad a poem about war? And isn't Aeneas supposed to do battle for Latium? So why is it all sunshine, butterflies, and love goddesses? Today we launch into Part II of the poem with a passage that has bamboozled scholars for centuries, and of course I will deliver the definitive interpretation so that everyone can stop arguing.
