Something magical happened between 1994 and 1995 in the film industry. Something spiritual, something supernatural, something Angelic. This is not the norm when it comes to movies and films, and often when movies, shows, documentaries or TV series are filmed, there's a level of darkness involved, not always on purpose—it just naturally occurs. It stems from the early industry's beginnings around silent film. The film industry has been used for propaganda, groupthink, conditioning and mind control, but not all of the film and tv industry has darkness instilled in it in this way. There are magical areas and special moments throughout the years in film where something comes together just right and rises above the norm, and even becomes a healing tool, a healing avenue. Pride & Prejudice, the 1995 version, is on another level. It is very helpful for anyone struggling emotionally, mentally, physically or even spiritually—anyone who is going through challenging times in their lives. This special healing miniseries was so clear of negative energy when it was filmed, so much so that it profoundly involved the Angelic realm to the point of even showing Angelic signs, including hidden Angelic sightings. With an open heart and open mind, you can feel what was behind the making of this rendition of Jane Austin's Pride & Prejudice. In this episode… Learn how the 1995 Pride and Prejudice miniseries is a powerful healing tool, not just a period drama, and how it emits energy that supports emotional and physical recovery. Discover how Angelic forces were present during the filming, making it spiritually charged and energetically pure, which was a rare phenomenon in the entertainment industry. Find out how everyone involved in the production unknowingly left behind their personal negativity, creating a clean and clear environment that allowed healing forces to enter. Uncover the ways in which this series calms the adrenals, nervous system, and emotional body, making it ideal for sensitive individuals, those with chronic illness, or anyone needing peace. Take a look at how specific scenes, like those at Lady Catherine de Bourgh's estate and Pemberley, hold supernatural energy. Learn how the healing power is still active today, nearly 30 years later, and how watching it now allows viewers to receive those same calming, restorative benefits. All this and more, tune in and don't miss out on this important episode. You can revisit this episode anytime you need it. For more information visit www.medicalmedium.com
Kylie and Julia pivot to their second shared obsession: the 1995 BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The results are hyper efficient. In this episode, Mr. Bennet beats a joke into the ground, Kitty coughs for her own amusement, Sir William Lucas helps Caroline move in society, and for some reason Jane is the hot sister.
Things in Kent just got a little more interesting: Mr. Darcy and his cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam have just arrived at Rosings. After a dinner together where Elizabeth gets to play and sing for the party, the gentlemen spend their time calling at Hunsford to visit the ladies - Mr. Darcy even calls on Elizabeth by herself. Yet, Elizabeth is puzzled by Mr. Darcy's frequent visits, since he rarely says much to anyone, in contrast to his warm and friendly cousin. In this week's Friday Favorites, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth come back into each other's orbit once again, and as they do, let their comforting presence help accompany you into an evening of relaxing sleep. -----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! The Hunsford party is on their way to dinner at Rosings, much to Mr. Collins's delight. And that means it's time to meet another favorite character, the imperious Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Her grandeur is enough to completely overwhelm Maria Lucas, and even Sir William isn't totally calm - Elizabeth seems to be the only one able to keep her wits when she speaks with Lady Catherine. The first encounter with Lady Catherine's noble condescension is a memorable one, so let this week's Friday Favorites help you end your week with a night of restful and restorative sleep.-----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! After an uneventful winter, Elizabeth and the Lucases are finally off on their journey to meet Charlotte and Mr. Collins at Hunsford. There's a quick stop in London to see the Gardiners and Jane, and then, at last, the Collins's humble abode. It's almost pleasant, as long as you forget about Mr. Collins, which Elizabeth suspects Charlotte does rather often. The visitors even get a glimpse of Miss de Bourgh from the window, and the promise of a future dinner at Rosings. As Elizabeth settles into her new surroundings, let her journey help you settle into your bed, as this week's Friday Favorites helps you drift into an evening of gentle sleep.-----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast!

It's Christmas at Longbourn, and that means the arrival of the Bennet girls' favorite uncle and aunt: Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner. They're always a warm and wise addition to the family, and now is no different. Mrs. Gardiner's offers to let Jane return with them to London, to help ease the pain of the Bingleys quitting Netherfield (seemingly for good), and her advice for Elizabeth on how to handle Mr. Wickham is as sound as ever. Her comforting presence is a balm to them all, so let it be a balm to you too, as this week's Friday Favorites helps soothe you into a night of peaceful slumber.-----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! Mr. Collins came to Longbourn set on finding a wife, and he's not going to let the small matter of Elizabeth's refusal stop him from achieving his goal. Fortunately for him, Elizabeth's friend Charlotte Lucas has been an eager companion, and when the opportunity arises for her to become more than a friend, she seizes it. Yes, Mr. Collins's second offer of marriage in three days has been accepted, and Charlotte is to become mistress of Hunsford, and eventually of Longbourn itself. As the Bennet family processes the news in our latest Friday Favorites, let their reflections and reactions comfort you as you enjoy another night of gentle and restorative sleep. -----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! Summary of Pride and Prejudice in English and French.English Version. By Jane AustenPublished: 1813 Genre: Romance, Social CommentarySet in early 19th-century England, Pride and Prejudice follows Elizabeth Bennet, a witty and independent young woman, as she navigates issues of class, marriage, and morality. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters in a middle-class family with little wealth and no male heir, making marriage a practical necessity for financial security. When the wealthy and reserved Mr. Darcy enters her social circle, Elizabeth initially finds him proud and disagreeable. Their relationship is marked by mutual misunderstandings and social pressures. However, as both characters confront their own flaws—Elizabeth's prejudice and Darcy's pride—they grow and change, ultimately realizing their deep love and respect for one another.Austen uses sharp dialogue and keen social observation to critique the rigid class structure of her time. The novel champions individual merit and personal integrity over social status and wealth. This was a LitBits Podcast for Tale Teller Club Publishing www.taletellerclub.com
Mr. Collins's time at Longbourn is running out, and that means it's time for him to act on the true purpose of his visit: matrimony. He's resolved to seek the hand of one of his fair cousins, and since Jane is taken, Elizabeth has been the apple of his eye. Yet, despite the many clear advantages of the match (Lady Catherine will visit his bride!), Elizabeth is most unwilling to accept. A push from her honored parents should do the trick, right? Frank and Thomas dive into Pride and Prejudice (2005) with a surprising amount of insight. After catching a recent theatrical re-release of the Jane Austen adaptation, the hosts unpack its romantic tension, cinematography, performances, and themes of societal expectations. Along the way, they reflect on Keira Knightley's breakout role, Matthew Macfadyen's modern take on Mr. Darcy, and how 19th-century courtship still hits in 2025. With some help from Frank's wife and linked video essays, they make sense of the story's deeper layers—reluctantly, but respectfully. Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen bring depth to iconic characters, especially through subtext and physical acting. Joe Wright's direction is subtle but powerful, using natural lighting, one-shot sequences, and thoughtful framing. The story critiques societal norms by centering a woman (Elizabeth Bennet) who refuses to play by the rules. The movie has become a beloved comfort film, especially for those drawn to emotionally charged slow-burn romances. Quotes:
Lisa and I continue our conversation on grandparenting. I consider the baleful ubiquity of psy-ops, and encourage more uncertainty. We look at Jacob's blessing over Joseph, the woman who touched Jesus' cloak, and why it would be wrong for God not to be filled with pride.
French Moroccan Leïla Slimani‘s own family was the inspiration when she started her critically acclaimed trilogy: The Country of Others, Watch Us Dance and this year's publication, J'emporterai le feu (“I will carry the fire”).We follow the Belhaj family through three generations, from when Mathilde leaves France to follow her new husband Amine to his home country Morocco after the second world war, and their struggle to find their place between two cultures that are rather hostile to each other, to their daughter, Aïcha through her childhood in Morocco and studies in France, before the last book takes the story up to our time through Aïcha's daughter Mia.This epic family saga contains love stories and sex, violence and racism, while the family's path is continually affected by the historical currents of Morocco and the wider world. French Mathilde grapple with the strict role for women in the Moroccan countryside, while her daughter Aïcha feels ogled and set apart as a Moroccan in France. In a vibrant and immediate language, Slimani portrays the various family members' struggles to belong, and to create a home and a family.Leïla Slimani is one of the most central Francophone authors today. Her definitive breakthrough came with the award-winning thriller Lullaby, for which she was awarded the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 2016. She has written a number of critically acclaimed novels and non fiction titles.Slimani was joined by associate professor of French literature, Kjerstin Aukrust, for a conversation about home, belonging and a family history. The night that all of Hertfordshire has been waiting for is finally here: Mr. Bingley's ball at Netherfield. Elizabeth, looking lovelier than usual, is disappointed to find that Mr. Wickham isn't there, and even more disappointed at her choice of dance partners. After dancing the first two with Mr. Collins, she finds herself dancing with Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth's not one for negativity, so she tries to make the best of the night, but it seems like each member of her family is determined to make the evening as difficult, and humiliating, as possible. In this week's Friday Favorites, return to one of Austen's most beloved ball scenes, and let the evening at Netherfield be your companion into your own evening of soft and restorative sleep.-----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! It's the most Jane Austin-y of all Jane Austin Rom Coms! This week Emma and Katie dive into the 2005 Joe Wright Classic Pride and Prejudice. They discuss the importance of a hand flex, how men should be required to read Jane Austin and if this or the BBC miniseries is a better adaptation. They also take time to discuss The People's Joker, Hundreds of Beavers and the Chicago Improv Scene. It's an all around fun time!
As we wait to conclude heritage month with the month's last big release, the crew takes some time to finally force Marvin to watch the 2005 film version of Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice before it disappears from Netflix (for now) at the end of the month. Tune in as we discuss if this (arguably) iconic adaptation hold up 20 years later as good pop, as well as some truly bizzare hot takes! What's Popping? - PBS, The Apothecary Diaries, Murderbot, Top ChefFollow our hosts:Marvin Yueh - @marvinyuehJess Ju - @jessjutweetsHanh Nguyen - @hanhonymousFollow the show and engage with us at @goodpopclubPart of the Potluck Podcast CollectiveProduced by HappyEcstatic Media
There's a handsome new soldier in Meryton, and he's caught the eye of everyone from the Bennets to Mr. Darcy. That's right, it's none other than Mr. Wickham, and after seeing Mr. Darcy's reaction to him in Meryton, Elizabeth's curiosity is insatiable. Luckily, Mr. Wickham is more than willing to share the story of his many misfortunes. Elizabeth knew Mr. Darcy was proud, but this is another level of cruelty she wasn't expecting. Yet, with all these facts and dates, Elizabeth is sure there's no way it could be false. In this week's Friday Favorites, revisit Mr. Wickham and his definitely-true account of his past, and let the comforting familiarity of his tale help you forget your day and drift into a night of gentle sleep. -----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! The Bennets are expecting an addition their party tonight, and sadly for Mrs. Bennet, it's not Mr. Bingley - it's their cousin Mr. Collins, who is next in line to inherit Longbourn. Can he be a sensible man? Mr. Bennet thinks not, and one evening together proves him absolutely correct. In this week's Friday Favorites, revisit the introduction of one of everyone's favorite comic clergyman, as Mr. Collins's tales of his parish and patroness help you fall into another night of soft and peaceful sleep.-----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! The two eldest Bennet sisters are still at Netherfield as Jane recovers from her cold, and that means Elizabeth and Darcy are stuck in each other's orbits for a little longer. The evenings together are bringing Elizabeth a little too close for Mr. Darcy's comfort, especially after Elizabeth teases him about his faults. Mr. Darcy's good opinion once lost may be lost forever, but luckily Elizabeth's charms will always secure her a spot in his good graces. As Darcy's affection grows, let this week's Friday Favorite comfort and carry you into a peaceful night of rest and relaxation.-----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! Jane's been invited to dine with the ladies of Netherfield, and it looks like rain, so of course she must go on horseback. But Mrs. Bennet's plan works a little too well, and now Jane is stuck at Netherfield with a cold. Elizabeth soon joins her, and with everyone in such close quarters, sparks are bound to fly. In this week's Friday Favorites, revisit the Bennets' visits to Netherfield (Mrs. Bennet stops by too, to let Mr. Darcy know they dine with four-and-twenty families), and let them help you close out your week and enter your weekend feeling refreshed by a good night's sleep. -----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast! Things are heating up in Hertfordshire! After a more thorough introduction to our main players, we join Elizabeth and Darcy at another assembly, where Darcy's initial distaste with Elizabeth is softening into something more intriguing. As Mr. Darcy is learning, a pair of fine eyes in the face of a pretty woman can bestow a great deal of pleasure, indeed. It is a truth universally acknowledged that there's never a bad time to revisit Jane Austen's most beloved novel. In this first of our new Friday Favorites series, we make our way back to the very beginning of Pride and Prejudice, and meet the Bennets as they learn that Netherfield Park is let at last, and by a man of a good fortune. Elizabeth Bennet may not be handsome enough to tempt Mr. Darcy, but the first three chapters of Pride and Prejudice are more than tolerable as a companion to comfort you as you transition from your day into an evening of rest and relaxation.-----Welcome to the Jane Austen Bedtime Stories podcast!
