1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is that of Tiberias.Post haec abiit Jesus trans mare Galilaeae, quod est Tiberiadis : 2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw the miracles which he did on them that were diseased.et sequebatur eum multitudo magna, quia videbant signa quae faciebat super his qui infirmabantur. 3 Jesus therefore went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. 4 Now the pasch, the festival day of the Jews, was near at hand.Erat autem proximum Pascha dies festus Judaeorum. 5 When Jesus therefore had lifted up his eyes, and seen that a very great multitude cometh to him, he said to Philip: Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?Cum sublevasset ergo oculos Jesus, et vidisset quia multitudo maxima venit ad eum, dixit ad Philippum : Unde ememus panes, ut manducent hi? 6 And this he said to try him; for he himself knew what he would do.Hoc autem dicebat tentans eum : ipse enim sciebat quid esset facturus. 7 Philip answered him: Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one may take a little.Respondit ei Philippus : Ducentorum denariorum panes non sufficiunt eis, ut unusquisque modicum quid accipiat. 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, saith to him:Dicit ei unus ex discipulis ejus, Andreas, frater Simonis Petri : 9 There is a boy here that hath five barley loaves, and two fishes; but what are these among so many? 10 Then Jesus said: Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. The men therefore sat down, in number about five thousand.Dixit ergo Jesus : Facite homines discumbere. Erat autem foenum multum in loco. Discumberunt ergo viri, numero quasi quinque millia. 11 And Jesus took the loaves: and when he had given thanks, he distributed to them that were set down. In like manner also of the fishes, as much as they would. 12 And when they were filled, he said to his disciples: Gather up the fragments that remain, lest they be lost. 13 They gathered up therefore, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above to them that had eaten. 14 Now those men, when they had seen what a miracle Jesus had done, said: This is of a truth the prophet, that is to come into the world. 15 Jesus therefore, when he knew that they would come to take him by force, and make him king, fled again into the mountain himself alone.
1 The kingdom of heaven is like to an householder, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.Simile est regnum caelorum homini patrifamilias, qui exiit primo mane conducere operarios in vineam suam. 2 And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And going out about the third hour, he saw others standing in the market place idle.Et egressus circa horam tertiam, vidit alios stantes in foro otiosos, 4 And he said to them: Go you also into my vineyard, and I will give you what shall be just.et dixit illis : Ite et vos in vineam meam, et quod justum fuerit dabo vobis. 5 And they went their way. And again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did in like manner. 6 But about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing, and he saith to them: Why stand you here all the day idle?Circa undecimam vero exiit, et invenit alios stantes, et dicit illis : Quid hic statis tota die otiosi? 7 They say to him: Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them: Go you also into my vineyard.Dicunt ei : Quia nemo nos conduxit. Dicit illis : Ite et vos in vineam meam. 8 And when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard saith to his steward: Call the labourers and pay them their hire, beginning from the last even to the first. 9 When therefore they were come, that came about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first also came, they thought that they should receive more: and they also received every man a penny. 11 And receiving it they murmured against the master of the house,Et accipientes murmurabant adversus patremfamilias, 12 Saying: These last have worked but one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, that have borne the burden of the day and the heats.dicentes : Hi novissimi una hora fecerunt, et pares illos nobis fecisti, qui portavimus pondus diei, et aestus. 13 But he answering said to one of them: Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny? At ille respondens uni eorum, dixit : Amice, non facio tibi injuriam : nonne ex denario convenisti mecum? 14 Take what is thine, and go thy way: I will also give to this last even as to thee. 15 Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? is thy eye evil, because I am good? 16 So shall the last be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.Sic erunt novissimi primi, et primi novissimi. Multi enim sunt vocati, pauci vero electi.

Multi enim sunt vocati, pauci vero electi. The three Sundays preceeding Ash Wedesday are called Septuagesima, Sexagesima, and Quinquagesima, which mean, respectively, the seventieth, the sixtieth, and fiftieth day, that is, before Easter. They are mere names to correspond with the name of Lent (Quadragesima in Latin; fortieth); obviously they don't actually correspond with the period they indicate. The parable of the vineyard shows us that we must all work to obtain the reward of eternal life.
18 And Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishers).Ambulans autem Jesus juxta mare Galilaeae, vidit duos fratres, Simonem, qui vocatur Petrus, et Andream fratrem ejus, mittentes rete in mare ( erant enim piscatores), 19 And he saith to them: Come ye after me, and I will make you to be fishers of men.et ait illis : Venite post me, et faciam vos fieri piscatores hominum. 20 And they immediately leaving their nets, followed him.At illi continuo relictis retibus secuti sunt eum. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets: and he called them. 22 And they forthwith left their nets and father, and followed him.
1 And Jesus answering, spoke again in parables to them, saying:Et respondens Jesus, dixit iterum in parabolis eis, dicens : 2 The kingdom of heaven is likened to a king, who made a marriage for his son. 3 And he sent his servants, to call them that were invited to the marriage; and they would not come. 4 Again he sent other servants, saying: Tell them that were invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my calves and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come ye to the marriage. 5 But they neglected, and went their own ways, one to his farm, and another to his merchandise.Illi autem neglexerunt : et abierunt, alius in villam suam, alius vero ad negotiationem suam : 6 And the rest laid hands on his servants, and having treated them contumeliously, put them to death.reliqui vero tenuerunt servos ejus, et contumeliis affectos occiderunt. 7 But when the king had heard of it, he was angry, and sending his armies, he destroyed those murderers, and burnt their city. 8 Then he saith to his servants: The marriage indeed is ready; but they that were invited were not worthy.Tunc ait servis suis : Nuptiae quidem paratae sunt, sed qui invitati erant, non fuerunt digni : 9 Go ye therefore into the highways; and as many as you shall find, call to the marriage.ite ergo ad exitus viarum, et quoscumque inveneritis, vocate ad nuptias. 10 And his servants going forth into the ways, gathered together all that they found, both bad and good: and the marriage was filled with guests. 11 And the king went in to see the guests: and he saw there a man who had not on a wedding garment. 12 And he saith to him: Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? But he was silent. At ille obmutavit. 13 Then the king said to the waiters: Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the exterior darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.Tunc dicit rex ministris : Ligatis manibus et pedibus ejus, mittite eum in tenebras exteriores : ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.Multi enim sunt vocati, pauci vero electi. Parable of the marriage guests. All men are called to the heavenly beatific union, but few are chosen: those who wear the nuptial robe of baptism and of the state of grace.

He walks upon the sea and discourses of the bread of life. 16 And when evening was come, his disciples went down to the sea. 17 And when they had gone up into a ship, they went over the sea to Capharnaum; and it was now dark, and Jesus was not come unto them. 18 And the sea arose, by reason of a great wind that blew.Mare autem, vento magno flante, exsurgebat. 19 When they had rowed therefore about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking upon the sea, and drawing nigh to the ship, and they were afraid. 20 But he saith to them: It is I; be not afraid.Ille autem dicit eis : Ego sum, nolite timere. 21 They were willing therefore to take him into the ship; and presently the ship was at the land to which they were going. 22 The next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea, saw that there was no other ship there but one, and that Jesus had not entered into the ship with his disciples, but that his disciples were gone away alone. But other ships came in from Tiberias; nigh unto the place where they had eaten the bread, the Lord giving thanks.aliae vero supervenerunt naves a Tiberiade juxta locum ubi manducaverunt panem, gratias agente Domino. 24 When therefore the multitude saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they took shipping, and came to Capharnaum, seeking for Jesus. 25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him: Rabbi, when camest thou hither? 26 Jesus answered them, and said: Amen, amen I say to you, you seek me, not because you have seen miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that which endureth unto life everlasting, which the Son of man will give you. For him hath God, the Father, sealed. 28 They said therefore unto him: What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?Dixerunt ergo ad eum : Quid faciemus ut operemur opera Dei? 29 Jesus answered, and said to them: This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he hath sent. 30 They said therefore to him: What sign therefore dost thou shew, that we may see, and may believe thee? What dost thou work?Dixerunt ergo ei : Quod ergo tu facis signum ut videamus et credamus tibi? quid operaris? 31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat.Patres nostri manducaverunt manna in deserto, sicut scriptum est : Panem de caelo dedit eis manducare. 32 Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say to you; Moses gave you not bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is that which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life to the world. 34 They said therefore unto him: Lord, give us always this bread. 35 And Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst.Dixit autem eis Jesus : Ego sum panis vitae : qui venit ad me, non esuriet, et qui credit in me, non sitiet umquam. 36 But I said unto you, that you also have seen me, and you believe not. 37 All that the Father giveth to me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me, I will not cast out.Omne quod dat mihi Pater, ad me veniet : et eum qui venit ad me, non ejiciam foras : 38 Because I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.quia descendi de caelo, non ut faciam voluntatem meam, sed voluntatem ejus qui misit me. 39 Now this is the will of the Father who sent me: that of all that he hath given me, I should lose nothing; but should raise it up again in the last day. 40 And this is the will of my Father that sent me: that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth in him, may have life everlasting, and I will raise him up in the last day. 41 The Jews therefore murmured at him, because he had said: I am the living bread which came down from heaven.Murmurabant ergo Judaei de illo, quia dixisset : Ego sum panis vivus, qui de caelo descendi, 42 And they said: Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then saith he, I came down from heaven?et dicebant : Nonne hic est Jesus filius Joseph, cujus nos novimus patrem et matrem? quomodo ergo dicit hic : Quia de caelo descendi? 43 Jesus therefore answered, and said to them: Murmur not among yourselves.Respondit ergo Jesus, et dixit eis : Nolite murmurare in invicem : 44 No man can come to me, except the Father, who hath sent me, draw him; and I will raise

The kingdom of heaven is like to an householder, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.Simile est regnum caelorum homini patrifamilias, qui exiit primo mane conducere operarios in vineam suam. The Three Sundays preceeding Ash Wednesday are called Septuagesima, Sexagesima and Quinquagesima, which mean, respectively, the seventieth, sixtieth, and fiftieth day, that is, before Easter. They are mere names to correspond with the name Lent. (Quadragesima in Latin: fortieth) obviously they don't actually correspond with the period they indicate.
And Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishers).Ambulans autem Jesus juxta mare Galilaeae, vidit duos fratres, Simonem, qui vocatur Petrus, et Andream fratrem ejus, mittentes rete in mare ( erant enim piscatores), 19 And he saith to them: Come ye after me, and I will make you to be fishers of men.et ait illis : Venite post me, et faciam vos fieri piscatores hominum.

And Jesus answering, spoke again in parables to them, saying:Et respondens Jesus, dixit iterum in parabolis eis, dicens : 2 The kingdom of heaven is likened to a king, who made a marriage for his son.

A two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist takes us inside the world revealed by the Panama Papers, a landscape of illicit money, political corruption, and fraud on a global scale.A hidden circulatory system flows beneath the surface of global finance, carrying trillions of dollars from drug trafficking, tax evasion, bribery, and other illegal enterprises. This network masks the identities of the individuals who benefit from these activities, aided by bankers, lawyers, and auditors who get paid to look the other way.In Secrecy World, the Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter Jake Bernstein explores this shadow economy and how it evolved, drawing on millions of leaked documents from the files of the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca—a trove now known as the Panama Papers—as well as other journalistic and government investigations. Bernstein shows how shell companies operate, how they allow the superwealthy and celebrities to escape taxes, and how they provide cover for illicit activities on a massive scale by crime bosses and corrupt politicians across the globe.Bernstein traveled to the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and within the United States to uncover how these strands fit together—who is involved, how they operate, and the real-world impact. He recounts how Mossack Fonseca was exposed and what lies ahead for the corporations, banks, law firms, individuals, and governments that are implicated.Secrecy World offers a disturbing and sobering view of how the world really works and raises critical questions about financial and legal institutions we may once have trusted.about 1 year ago #and, #ed, #elite, #global, #illicit, #inside, #money, #networks, #opperman, #panama, #papers, #report, #spreaker, #theThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/1198501/advertisement

[1]And Jesus answering, spoke again in parables to them, saying: Et respondens Jesus, dixit iterum in parabolis eis, dicens : [2]The kingdom of heaven is likened to a king, who made a marriage for his son. [3] And he sent his servants, to call them that were invited to the marriage; and they would not come. [4]Again he sent other servants, saying: Tell them that were invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my calves and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come ye to the marriage. [5] But they neglected, and went their own ways, one to his farm, and another to his merchandise. Illi autem neglexerunt : et abierunt, alius in villam suam, alius vero ad negotiationem suam : [6] And the rest laid hands on his servants, and having treated them contumeliously, put them to death. reliqui vero tenuerunt servos ejus, et contumeliis affectos occiderunt. [7]when the king had heard of it, he was angry, and sending his armies, he destroyed those murderers, and burnt their city. [8] Then he saith to his servants: The marriage indeed is ready; but they that were invited were not worthy. Tunc ait servis suis : Nuptiae quidem paratae sunt, sed qui invitati erant, non fuerunt digni : [9] Go ye therefore into the highways; and as many as you shall find, call to the marriage. ite ergo ad exitus viarum, et quoscumque inveneritis, vocate ad nuptias. [10] And his servants going forth into the ways, gathered together all that they found, both bad and good: and the marriage was filled with guests. [11]And the king went in to see the guests: and he saw there a man who had not on a wedding garment. [12] And he saith to him: Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? But he was silent. At ille obmutavit. [13] Then the king said to the waiters: Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the exterior darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Tunc dicit rex ministris : Ligatis manibus et pedibus ejus, mittite eum in tenebras exteriores : ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium. [14] For many are called, but few are chosen. Multi enim sunt vocati, pauci vero electi. [7]

[14] At length he appeared to the eleven as they were at table: and he upbraided them with their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe them who had seen him after he was risen again. [15] And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Et dixit eis : Euntes in mundum universum praedicate Evangelium omni creaturae. [16] He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues. Signa autem eos qui crediderint, haec sequentur : in nomine meo daemonia ejicient : linguis loquentur novis : [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay their hands upon the sick, and they shall recover. serpentes tollent : et si mortiferum quid biberint, non eis nocebit : super aegros manus imponent, et bene habebunt. [19] And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God. [20] But they going forth preached everywhere: the Lord working withal, and confirming the word with signs that followed. Introit: Acts of the Apostles 1.11 Who also said: Ye men of Galilee, why stand you looking up to heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as you have seen him going into heaven. qui et dixerunt : Viri Galilaei, quid statis aspicientes in caelum? Hic Jesus, qui assumptus est a vobis in caelum, sic veniet quemadmodum vidistis eum euntem in caelum.
