Hinter dem Namen Ghostwoman verbirgt sich keineswegs eine ätherische, einzelgängerische Spukerscheinung, sondern vielmehr ein überaus erdig-lebendiges Rock-Duo, bestehend aus Evan Uschenko und Ille van Dessel. Als der kanadische Multiinstrumentalist die trommelnde Belgierin 2023 kennenlernte, war ihm sofort klar, dass beim anfänglich im Alleingang vollführten Werkeln an den Songs eine gewisse Reibungsfläche gefehlt hatte, andererseits die bisherige Live-Quintettbesetzung der 2016 gegründeten Band eher Ballast als Bereicherung darstellte – das Verfolgen der nunmehr geteilten musikalischen Vision war also glasklar ein Fall für genau zwei. Vergangene Woche haben sie ihr neues Album "Welcome To The Civilized World" veröffentlicht, inhaltlich – wie der Sarkasmus ahnen lassende Titel schon andeutet – "inspiriert von der Absurdität menschlichen Verhaltens und dem Zirkus, den wir Leben nennen." Ausgedrückt in Texten, die deren Verfasser und Vorträger Evan freimütig zum großen Teil als "Nonsens" deklariert, in denen er aber mit so großer Dringlichkeit wie abenteuerlicher Grammatik seine Gefühle transportiert, dass sie dennoch alles andere als nichtssagend sind. Obendrein wirken sie hervorragend in Kombination mit dem lakonisch-schnörkellosen Sound des Duos, der sich (bei der Vorab-Single "Alive) genauso von den Byrds und deren zwölfsaitigen Gitarren beeinflusst zeigt, wie er die beiden zum neusten Glied einer hochkarätigen Ahnenreihe macht, der zuvor bereits Gruppen wie The Jesus And Mary Chain, The White Stripes oder auch The Black Keys entsprangen – sicher kein Zufall, dass auch bei jenen oft die Zwei die magische Zahl war.

RKP puheenjohtaja Anders Adlercreutz vaatii Politiikkaradion puheenjohtajatentissä verovähennysoikeutta lahjoituksista sote-järjestöille. RKP esittää lahjoitusvähennyksen laajentamista sote-järjestöille, jotta niiden olisi helpompi kerätä rahaa varakkailta lahjoittajilta valtion rahoituksen pienentyessä. Hallituksessa RKP on ollut päättämässä leikkauksista sote-järjestöjen rahoitukseen. Adlercreutz kiistää, että kyseessä olisi askel kohti amerikkalaista mallia ja haluaa nähdä lisää varakkaiden suomalaisten lahjoituksia sote-järjestöille. Esimerkkinä Adlercreutz mainitsee peliyhtiö Supercellin omistajien Mikko Kodisojan ja Ilkka Paanasen Me-säätiö. Adlercreutz myös irtautuu puheenjohtajatentissä hallituksen säästölinjasta. Toisin kuin muu hallitus, Adlercreutz ei sulje pois lisäajan myöntämistä sote-säästöjen kanssa kamppaileville hyvinvointialueille. – Tämä tulee vielä hallituksen pöydälle ja meidän pitää siinä tilanteessa pohtia jotain ratkaisuja, jotta nämä alueet selviäisivät, Adlercreutz sanoo Politiikkaradion puheenjohtajatentissä. Le département breton et notamment sa préfecture, Rennes, traversée par deux rivières, l'Ille et la Vilaine, subit des crues inédites depuis plus de 40 ans. La Loire atlantique et le Morbihan sont également placés en vigilance rouge, et quatre autres départements en vigilance orange, alors que la montée des eaux continue. Une autre dépression, baptisée Ivo, doit s'abattre demain sur la Bretagne et l'Ouest de la France, faisant craindre une agravation de la situation."C'est une situation tout à fait exceptionnelle qui manifestement, dépasse l'histoire connue, en tous les cas, en matière d'inondations sur le territoire", a déclaré François-Noël Buffet, ministre auprès du ministre de l'Intérieur, en visite à Rennes. "La chance à ce stade, c'est qu'il n'y a pas de victimes physiques", a dit le ministre, non loin des flots déchaînés de la Vilaine. Ces crues compliquent toujours mardi les déplacements. Le trafic ferroviaire est perturbé "sur les lignes Rennes-Redon et Rennes-Saint-Malo dans les deux sens de circulation", indique sur X le réseau ferroviaire régional BreizhGo.Gaël Musquet, spécialiste de la prévention des catastrophes naturelles, est notre invité. Il nous parlera de la situation des habitants évacués, et du temps que cela pourrait prendre pour eux de regagner leur domicile. Situé à la confluence de deux cours d'eau, la ville de Redon, en Ille-et-Vilaine, est habituée aux inondations. Dans les heures à venir, le record de 1936, 5,46 mètres, pourrait être dépassé. Si le pic de crue est encore attendu, les services météorologiques estiment que 200 litres d'eau par m² se sont abattus depuis début janvier sur la commune, soit l'équivalent de trois mois de pluie en seulement trois semaines. Every year a relatively small number of canonic operas are produced around the world. Many companies shy away from new works, afraid of alienating a predominantly white, older, wealthy audience who are comfortable with operatic traditions. But opera can also be a site of incredible innovation.  Opera for Everyone: The Industry's Experiments with American Opera in the Digital Age (University of Michigan Press, 2024) by Megan Steigerwald Ille examines one of the most disruptive opera companies in the United States. The Los Angeles-based company, The Industry, wants to make opera for everyone by breaking down hierarchies, undermining the expectations of both audiences and performers, and confronting how opera is part of harmful systems of exclusion and marginalization. Rather than simply analyzing some operas and interviewing a handful of key players in the company, Steigerwald Ille spent years observing rehearsals and interviewing many of the participants in the Industry's productions. Focusing on the period between 2012 and 2020, her ethnographic work yields a thorough and nuanced analysis of the company and its operas and the many ways they challenge the conventions of Western classical music.
