--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/radiosemillapodcast/message
I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Theresia Intag, an HR expert who shared some invaluable insights. As many business owners experienced during the pandemic, we need to approach employee flexibility and well-being more compassionately. People have fuller lives and personal responsibilities outside of work. Giving them the space to manage leads to more engaged, productive teams. Theresia talks about how leaders can promote human spaces in the workplace - focusing more on deliverables than strict schedules and checking in on employees' overall mental health. We also discuss the pros and cons of leveraging AI, the legal considerations around hiring remote workers, and fractional services that let small companies afford senior-level experts. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on these topics! What has worked for you in supporting your team? According to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, “Employers slowed hiring and handed out smaller raises in recent months, signs of fading momentum in the job market that have some forecasters expecting unemployment to rise in 2024.” This is being done to help the U.S. economy have a soft landing, meaning the Fed is trying to avoid a recession. The Fed is trying to have the labor market cool without it collapsing. What does all this mean in lay terms? It means that if you are looking for a job right now, it is a tough labor market. And this tracks with the conversations I'm having with my dear friends and other colleagues out there looking for jobs. They are interviewing, interviewing, and interviewing some more without hearing back from recruiters. Their confidence is taking a hit. They wonder if they have the chops to get hired. And while this is happening, we have a changing work environment with continued demand for hybrid or remote work, human resources professionals being battered and bruised from the challenges of COVID and beyond, and recruiters getting a bad rap. My guest today, Theresia Intag, is setting the record straight on all these issues. During my chat with Theresia, we discussed:1. The story behind Theresia's companies, IntagHire and Tag4HR.2. What Theresia is seeing in the recruiting industry right now.3. Why you may not be contacted after your interviews right now (and hint, it's not your fault).4. How you can stand out from the crowd when interviewing.5. How you can stay confident and engaged when it's taking a long time to find the next best role in your career path.6. What's going on with hybrid work and how companies can attract top talent in the changing face of work.7. Why middle managers are facing burnout. Theresia also shares some creative and interesting ways that companies can support their employees.8. And the benefits that top talent is expecting moving forward.
Theresia, an entrepreneur who's seen the zenith of success and the nadirs of struggle, joins the conversation, spilling the secrets that transformed her business journey. Boots strapped and hands on the wheel, she navigated the treacherous roads of scaling a business, and now she's here to guide you through the same paths—minus the pitfalls. Our candid talk peels back the layers of leadership evolution and strategic delegation, as Theresia recounts her personal saga of balancing the tightrope between business growth and family life. Discover how the art of hiring the right roles, like an Executive Assistant and Operations personnel, can not only amplify your company's growth but also refine your team's synergy. We weave through the emotional fabric that stitches together the life of a CEO, understanding that personal relationships and a compassionate work culture are as crucial as any business strategy. The narrative unfolds to reveal the often unspoken emotional rollercoaster of entrepreneurship, from battling burnout to managing time with finesse. Theresia and I dissect the importance of support systems, ranging from mentoring to therapy, which aid in weathering the isolation that comes with the CEO territory. Tune in for a heart-to-heart exchange that promises to enrich your entrepreneurial mindset and challenge the conventional blueprint of business success.Connect with Theresia: https://www.linkedin.com/company/tag4hr

Imagine if you could double or even triple your growth in a year. Whether you work for a company or are an entrepreneur you won't want to miss this interview with Theresia Intag, Founder and CEO of IntagHire and Co-Founder of Tag4HR. 3 Key Takeaways:1. Embrace the 80% rule: Theresia found that by allowing herself to let go of the need for perfection and accepting if someone can do 80% of what she expects, it allowed her to grow her business. This rule is a reminder to give others the opportunity to step in and contribute, thus freeing up time and energy for strategic growth activities.2. Develop an abundant mindset: Theresia shares how shifting from a scarcity mindset to one of abundance played a significant role in her business expansion. By dreaming bigger, focusing on her strengths, and leveraging the skills of others, she was able to push past her self-doubt and experience significant growth.3. Leverage your support network: When dealing with imposter syndrome, Theresia emphasizes the importance of having a support network. She advises reaching out to coaches, mentors, or advocates who can provide perspective, reassurance, and constructive feedback. This helps to shift the focus from self-doubt to growth and expansion.Inspirational Quotes: "I had to start shifting to look at would it look like if I had everything... How do I plan towards that?” - Theresia Intag "The more I tried to remove myself from the day-to-day, the better the business got overall." - Theresia IntagThis episode provides valuable insights into balancing business growth, overcoming self-doubt, and the importance of maintaining an abundant mindset. Since almost 30 years the people of Intag are successfully fighting a huge open pit copper mine in the tropical Andean mountains in northern Ecuador. It´s one of the most biodivers places left on earth, there live more species per hectare than in the Amazon. But underneath it lies copper and some gold, worth millions and billions of dollar. Different transnational mining companies and also the state of Ecuador are trying to get it out. Exploration phase is now almost completed. Next step would be a huge and toxic hole in the rainforest. Meanwhile the hunger for copper is growing with the global shift to renewable energy. Last hope now: Nature Rights. The people of Intag are suing their own government. Ecuador is the first and so far only country in the world where nature has rights as a legal subject on a constitutional level. That sounds a bit abstract, but is super fascinating. Some say it is as revolutionary as the end of slavery or women´s right to vote. Carlos Zorrilla has been a leader in the resistance of Intag since the 90. He tells us what methods have helped to drive out two transnational mining companies and put another one on hold. Where his energy and hope come from and what to do with politicians you don´t like. His Utopia: That people find another definition of wealth and a good life. For Carlos it´s not about money and cars but about harmony, with neighbors and with nature. What you can do to support his Utopia: Ask yourself what a good life means to you and how much things and money you need for it. I was really struggling about what to do with them, because I felt like we just were doing the job well, but I felt like we weren't being super successful because it just wasn't a good match our services. I was worried about getting rid of them because I would lose money. And my husband said but maybe you would make more room for more positive clients. And I was like, well, that's a concept! …just because you're good at managing difficult clients or difficult personalities doesn't mean that you're required to…”Theresia Intag is president and founder of Intag Consulting, an innovative "fractional recruiting" firm geared towards small to medium sized companies. What are 'Nature's Rights', and who is prepared to stand up for them? Our guest in this episode is Dr Martha Dietrich, Assistant Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam, and she is joined in conversation by the Manchester Museum's Curator of Herpetology, Andrew Gray. Andrew's work at the museum focuses on wildlife conservation, specifically amphibians, with the Vivarium gallery home to many critically endangered species including the Harlequin frog, and a number of rare species from Ecuador. In 2008, amendments were made to the Ecuadorian constitution to integrate nonhuman claimants into judicial processes, and Martha's research in the country has examined the practical application – debates and outcomes – of nature's rights claims in the court of law. Most recently she has been involved in a ground-breaking case brought against the Ecuadorian state to stop the copper mining company, Codelco, from exploration work in the Intag region of Ecuador, an area with a high number of endangered species, including three tree frogs. These special frogs brought their two worlds together and today they discuss what this case could mean for the future rights of the natural world, and humanity caring for it. Season 3: Episode 2 Transcript ----- Manchester Museum is on a mission to become the most imaginative, caring and inclusive museum in the world, and in this podcast we will share open and honest conversations with special guests, which will inform, entertain and inspire. Through these conversations we hope to reframe what it means for museums to care, and explore how we can build understanding, empathy and love for our world and each other.

Emily Rathmanner’s mission to build a fair trade brand with artists brought her to the Intag Region of Ecuador where she witnessed what a small group of women could do to create positive change. She's been traveling since college, about 4.5 years, and is a graphic and web designer. A recent entrepreneur, she began a business partnering with women in Ecuador to make handbags made from cactus called "Made by Minga." Under stora psykiska påfrestningar. Mötet avslutas med den HÖRvärda Beatleslåten “Til there was you”! “There were bells on the hills, but I never HEARD them ringing….” See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
