If you've ever doubted His love or wondered if you'll actually see His goodness in the land of the living, this one's for you. Let's be real: even “good Christians” struggle with doubt sometimes, but the pain of hard seasons doesn't have to derail our faith. In fact, what if God's goodness IS showing up, just in ways that we didn't expect or wouldn't have chosen for ourselves? Today I hope to remind you that even if it's not what you wanted, that doesn't mean it isn't good. Does God actually stretch our capacity for more? I used to hear people praying that prayer, asking God for more, for greater things in life and ministry. While I don't think it's bad to ask God for more, I do wonder if we are on the same page as Him. If our “more” is the same that He has in mind for us.What if instead of stretching our capacity, maturing in faith looks like becoming a better steward of it? Maybe our limitedness isn't something we should strain against, but a gift — an opportunity to embrace the truth that apart from Him we can do nothing. I'm sharing thoughts on all this and more, including 3 ways we can become better stewards of our limitedness in partnership with God.SUPPORT BY WORDS: https://buymeacoffee.com/bywordsSHOP MY BOOKS:Waking Up: Living Open — https://amzn.to/3LusgrzLove Is Devotional — https://amzn.to/3S6OZhs FREE Path to Purpose Guide: https://hannahhughes.myflodesk.com/pathwaytopurpose My favorite Bible studies + devotionals - HANNAHHUGHES10 for 10% off: https://thedailygraceco.com?dt_id=300773 Connect: www.thehannahhughes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thehannahhughes/ https://www.instagram.com/bywordspodcast Shop my Amazon faves: https://www.amazon.com/shop/thehannahhughes

How can Christians respond to human trafficking in a way that reflects the heart of the Gospel? In this episode, I'm joined by Raleigh Sadler, author of Vulnerable: Rethinking Human Trafficking, to discuss the intersection of vulnerability, justice, and faith. Raleigh shares why vulnerability is at the core of both the problem and the solution to human trafficking, and how our understanding of the Gospel should shape the way we engage with our neighbors. We also talk about how the Church can become more aware of and intentional in caring for the vulnerable — whether by preventing exploitation or showing compassion to those already in hard circumstances without judgment. If you've ever felt overwhelmed or unsure of where to start, Raleigh offers practical steps to empower you to take meaningful action in your community. In this episode, we're getting real about how “purpose” isn't a lack of struggles or finally figuring it all out. I know sometimes we want our stories to be wrapped up in a neat bow, but the truth is, we'll be in process with Jesus until we see Him face to face. I wish I could say I'm on the other side of my struggles, totally healed, but the reality is I'm still in it — and that's okay. I used to feel shame about that, thinking that struggling disqualified me from my purpose, but I've learned that it's actually in the midst of pain and struggles where God invites us into deeper faith and relationship. Our purpose isn't found in conquering all of our obstacles and eliminating all discomfort, but in co-laboring with Christ through our humanity on this side of heaven. It's not your life - struggles = purpose, it's your life, including your struggles + Jesus = purpose. That's the Gospel — God WITH us, right in the middle of our humanity, limitations, pain, and questions. Purpose is less about what we accomplish and more about who we're becoming in relationship with Jesus. If we base our purpose on what we can DO, it can easy collapse. But when we live in communion with the Trinity, our purpose becomes a byproduct of knowing Him. At the end of the day, that's what really matters — knowing Him, not just doing things for Him. Tune in as we explore how purpose is found in walking with Christ through every season. In this episode, we're exploring how to find the right church for you and your family — and why going to church even matters in the first place. Being part of a community of believers is essential for spiritual growth, not only for you, but for your kids and other people you will impact there as well. When looking for a church, it's important to consider things like proximity, balancing being spiritually filled and contributing, and finding a community you can do life with. It's equally important to evaluate a church's beliefs to ensure they align with Scripture and your personal convictions. At the end of the day, there is no such thing as a perfect church since churches are made up of imperfect people, but being an active part of the Body of Christ is an important role we are called to participate in as believers. I'd encourage you to prayerfully seek God's guidance as you find your church, your people, and opportunities for you to use your unique gifts to build up the Church! YOU ARE NOT BEHIND IN LIFE. It's easy to get discouraged when you're in the middle — between where you started and where you really want to be — but today we're talking about how we can shift our perspective and steward our waiting seasons well. It's tough when it seems like everyone else is achieving their goals and having success while you feel stuck. I was processing this and praying recently when I felt like God told me, “IT'S NOT ABOUT YOUR PERFORMANCE, IT'S ABOUT MY PROTECTION.” This can be hard to accept, especially when you're driven and motivated. But ask yourself: if it's not God's best for you, do you really want it? Waiting isn't fun, but it's the space between our answered prayers that our faith really has a chance to grow. Are you willing to lean into all God has for you right here in the middle?
