Every year, we wrap up the season with the Jackyl Family Reunion and it's ALWAYS a drunken good time!! And this year won't be any different!! And as we get set to get our livers warmed up for the main event, we got Jackyl's Jesse James Dupree on the horn to talk about what's gonna go down…you know, while we can still remember it all…..
It's another packed episode, thanks for listening! Ace Frehley starts us off. He's playing Soaring Eagle on the 29th, the last gig of the year for him. That show is with Stephen Pearcy of RATT. He told me he's working on his next album, Origins 3. We talked about the crazy drones flying around by his house. We also talked about the days of KISS and how big they were here in Detroit and Michigan. Ace is so much fun to talk to. Legend! Bumblefoot is up next, with his new album dropping on January 24th. It's called Bumblefoot...Returns. It's his first instrumental album in 30 years! He's got some heavy-hitting guests on it as well. We talk about the video game surrounding the album, how it's coming out on vinyl and cassette, and more. To say he's one of the most talented guitarists out there is an understatement. Oscar and Alyse from a pretty new band called LYLVC join me next. They formed during the pandemic and have been making some real noise lately. Their latest song is out, called "XXX". They've had the chance to work with some great producers making new music, which we discussed. Alyse tells me about her appearance on the TV show Don't Forget the Lyrics. They're playing the Machine Shop in Flint on December 20th. Speaking of the Machine Shop, Jackyl played there on Thanksgiving Eve. Before that, I spoke with Jesse James Dupree. He spoke of his friendship with Travis Tritt, the only hockey game he'd attended, his home studio and the legends who've recorded there, and his connection with Harley Davidson. Thanks for listening!

A lot going on in La Crosse this weekend on both ends of the spectrum, as Jean Taylor and Josh Hertel both join to talk about two big events. First (7:15), Taylor breaks down this new two-day party called Big River Rally on Friday and Saturday at the downtown Oktoberfest grounds and beyond. Then Hertel joins (18:50) to talk about Coulee Con, this gaming extravaganza, happening Friday-Sunday at the La Crosse Center. Began the show, though, with a bit of a recap from the August primary, with the two Republican-written constitutional amendments being voted down, Tara Johnson and Rebecca Cooke winning Democratic primaries for state Assembly and US House. Big River Rally features a pair of concerts — Buckcherry on Friday and Jackyl on Saturday — stunt shows, a bike show, vendors, a veterans breakfast and a pair of rides through the Coulee Region, including one featuring WKTY's Bill Michaels and Jackyl's Jesse James Dupree. For more info and tickets, click here. And, at the La Crosse Center, the 10th annual and possibly last Coulee Con — a tabletop gaming convention that's put on by Hertel, who is also the president of Coulee Gaming Inc. Get tickets for Coulee Con by clicking here. One of the cool aspects that we discussed was how Hertel gets sent never-before-played games, sets up tournaments with them and the winner takes home the game, which may be one of a kind or the next big thing. Hertel says this will be the last Coulee Con — for now. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

If you haven't heard, the Big River Rally is happening this August in La Crosse with rides, vendors, motorcycles, stunt bike shows, music, food, drinks & more! Tickets go on-sale this Friday at 6am. We also talked about the Bucks sliding into the playoffs after losing eight of their final eleven games of the regular season. In case you missed it, the Golden Bachelor & his TV wife only lasted three months. But, good news….there's a chonky boi named "Thicken Nugget" who's losing weight in the pool. Today's Tax Day, and we gave you some info on some of the deals you can take advantage of. Discussed the new Nike outfits for female athletes at the Paris Olympics, and we hooked you up with the Monday Morning Throwback. Also, mad props to Boban! Man of the people! During today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a man who stabbed his mother to death after fighting over the TV remote, a bunch of people without tickets were able to get on a recent Delta flight, a woman is suing Tesla after her toddler was able to turn the vehicle on & ran her over, a #FloridaMan who got busted filming videos of himself doing 199mph on a highway, a guy in Canada who crashed his car after reaching for some fried chicken in the backseat & losing control of his vehicle, an airline passenger who claims they were duped into tipping a baggage checker, a mom in Texas who left her kids at home while she went on a cruise, an acupuncturist who stuck the needles into a client & then went home & took a nap, and a kid who got an octopus for his birthday & ended up with more than he bargained for. Jesse James Dupree discusses his upcoming solo album, 'Breathing Fire,' what it was like working with AC/DC's Brian Johnson on some of the new songs and what fans can expect from Jackyl's last live show of 2023.
Raucous Jackyl frontman Jesse James Dupree discusses his latest solo song "Never Gets Old" which was co-written with ACDC's Brian Johnson. Jesse also gives the latest update on Jackyl and sets the scene for the release of his solo album "Breathing Fire."
It's always great to talk with my friend, Jesse James Dupree from Jackyl. He's got a new album coming out on November 10th called, "Breathing Fire". He told me about the idea of the record, which was born out of good old fashioned Rock N' Roll. Brian Johnson from AC/DC helped to write some of the material. He said Brian called him out of the blue, while Jesse was contemplating and putting thoughts together for new music. "Next thing I know, I'm writing songs with Brian Johnson of AC/DC." Jesse talked about the entire process of how the songs came together with his son, Nigel and Jackyl bassist, Roman Glick. He talked how the cadence of the latest single "Never Gets Old" had a Marine cadence to it. That's out now and you can see the video here, which is the lyric video with 32 different fonts from some of your favorite bands. You can win cash and more if you can name all the bands. Punch up Jesse's site to find out how to win. We also talked about working with his son, Nigel. He tells a funny story about how it's different to get into an argument with a band member as opposed to your son. LOL I also asked him about the use of "The Lumberjack" in the Foo Fighter's Studio 666 movie. It's one of the most brutal death scenes I've ever seen in a horror movie. He went on to tell me a story about Nirvana almost getting kicked out of a Jackyl show in Seattle back in the day. As some of you may or may not know, Jesse works heavily with Harley-Davidson. We talked about that as well. -Meltdown- https://www.jessejamesdupree.com/

Jesse James Dupree has spent the last four decades placing his personal vision in to forward motion, achieving success with the majority of endeavors he's chosen to commit his energies to. It all began back in 1992 with the platinum release of his debut JACKYL album (Geffen). Successful album releases followed both with the band and solo. In 2009, the first season of "Full Throttle Saloon" was broadcast on TruTV, featuring Dupree and partner Michael Ballard. Following a fire in September, 2015, the duo relocated Full Throttle Saloon to a parcel of land fifteen times the size of the original location where the largest biker bar in The World continues to flourish annually tied to the Sturgis rally. Dupree is a consultant immersed in the business of Harley-Davidson, the owner of Jesse James American Outlaw Bourbon, and a new venture tied to analytically monitoring data tied to the commercial radio industry. JACKYL continues to be an attraction at festivals, headline shows and rallies annually staging dozens of performances a year. He continues to place his energies towards a dozen or more ventures fueled by multifaceted personal interests.

Push comes to shove, there's no other rock 'n' roll outlaw out there like Jackyl's own, Jesse James Dupree, the southern hard rock frontman and star of Full Throttle Saloon, a TV series set in South Dakota featuring the world's largest biker bar—but more importantly one of Brian Johnson's earliest collaborators and confidants (not to mention one hell of an AC/DC fan and vocal doppelgänger). Better grease up that chainsaw, 'cause this episode about to get locked and loaded!
Once upon a time, a man decided that a chainsaw was a musical instrument. Thus, Tom's interest in Jackyl was born. On today's lost episode, you get to hear not only all about the song, you get to hear the song itself along with commentary from the man responsible for it. Then you'll hear our commentary of his commentary. Maybe one day, someone will commentate on our commentary. I guess that's technically what I'm doing right now. You see, it all connects.
