Every year, we wrap up the season with the Jackyl Family Reunion and it's ALWAYS a drunken good time!! And this year won't be any different!! And as we get set to get our livers warmed up for the main event, we got Jackyl's Jesse James Dupree on the horn to talk about what's gonna go down…you know, while we can still remember it all…..
It's another packed episode, thanks for listening! Ace Frehley starts us off. He's playing Soaring Eagle on the 29th, the last gig of the year for him. That show is with Stephen Pearcy of RATT. He told me he's working on his next album, Origins 3. We talked about the crazy drones flying around by his house. We also talked about the days of KISS and how big they were here in Detroit and Michigan. Ace is so much fun to talk to. Legend! Bumblefoot is up next, with his new album dropping on January 24th. It's called Bumblefoot...Returns. It's his first instrumental album in 30 years! He's got some heavy-hitting guests on it as well. We talk about the video game surrounding the album, how it's coming out on vinyl and cassette, and more. To say he's one of the most talented guitarists out there is an understatement. Oscar and Alyse from a pretty new band called LYLVC join me next. They formed during the pandemic and have been making some real noise lately. Their latest song is out, called "XXX". They've had the chance to work with some great producers making new music, which we discussed. Alyse tells me about her appearance on the TV show Don't Forget the Lyrics. They're playing the Machine Shop in Flint on December 20th. Speaking of the Machine Shop, Jackyl played there on Thanksgiving Eve. Before that, I spoke with Jesse James Dupree. He spoke of his friendship with Travis Tritt, the only hockey game he'd attended, his home studio and the legends who've recorded there, and his connection with Harley Davidson. Thanks for listening!

Joe Hermes, one of the hottest new acts in the Rock Country scene, is an Illinois native and former defensive lineman known for his edgy vocal textures and high-energy performances. Driven by his faith, family, and belief in the American Dream, Hermes brings a blend of "gunpowder country" to his music, influenced by Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi. His sound is characterized by intense, soulful vocals and raw, honest lyrics. Hermes made his official debut in 2020 with the EP "SOULS WITH STONES," produced by renowned music producer Buddy Hyatt. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID shutdown, Hermes focused on songwriting, collaborating with Grammy-winning songwriter/producer/manager Dale Oliver. In 2023, he released his full-length CD, "ROCKIN' A COUNTRY TOWN," co-produced with Oliver. The album features original songs written alongside Dan Couch and Big Vinny Hickerson, including tracks like "Stronger Than Whiskey," "SkyFall," and "Used To Be Me," which reached No. 46 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart. Hermes has quickly gained support from country radio, fans, and his peers. Over three years, he has shared the stage with top country artists such as David Nail, Ward Davis, Craig Campbell, Kolby Cooper, and Kinsey Rose from The Voice. He has also established a presence in the Rock 'n Roll arena, opening for acts like Uncle Kracker, Black Stone Cherry, Head East, Jackyl, and Lita Ford. With a unique blend of grit and determination, Joe Hermes is carving out his own path in the music industry, ready to ROCK A COUNTRY TOWN. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tophillrecording/support

Shaw is back! The first Presidential debate for the 2024 election is tonight and we tried to get you prepped with some stats & info…and maybe a drinking game or two. We recapped last night's NBA draft, and the apology from new Texas baseball coach, Jim Schlossnagle. Let you know what else is on TV tonight, and we talked about Hawk TUAH girl possibly going to Hollywood! Cool story about a guy who saw two old ladies sitting in the chairs in front of his house & he decided to befriend them with some tea & snacks…and a fire at a 143 year-old church was extinguished by some firefighters who were having a weekly meeting just down the street. Got a request from Curt in Eau Claire for some Jackyl…which we played…and then talked about the upcoming Big River Rally! Another idiot TikTok person is trying to pass off rice-water as an alternative to Ozempic Talked about the future of the WWE, and speaking of the future…this year's Olympics will feature A.I. Al Michaels! During today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy in Vermont who flipped off a State Trooper, a bear that got into a family's mini-van in California, a philosophy professor who killed himself in Australia, a woman who got a ticket for driving her suitcase, an update on the Bigfoot murder case, and an HOA board member who repeatedly pooped on a guy's lawn. Everyone loves it when “Bad Street U.S.A.” becomes a “Highway to Hell!” In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys take a look at the fallout from No Way Out of Texas. Ken Shamrock, Steve Blackman, and Jeff Jarrett all look good in their matches, Chyna finally gets her own video package, and Steve Austin delivers a masterclass in wrestling promos. Things go a little off the rails when the Jackyl drives viewers to Nitro, and the New Age Outlaws ride their dumpster gimmick into the future!
Jackyl frontman and Friend of the Show, Jesse James Dupree released an amazing new solo album, "Breathing Fire" a few months ago, and this past week, he dropped the second single, "Stranded" and the accompanying video is truly a work of art...one of the most cinematic music videos that has been released in a very very long time...and he gave us a call this morning to talk more about it!
It's time to address the age old question: what's better, two wrestlers in the ring or two implants outside of it? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys review the go-home show leading into the No Way Out of Texas Pay Per View. Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels continue to fire shots at each other, and Ken Shamrock looks good getting blasted in the face with a chair by The Rock. The Jackyl shows up to ruin a Steve Blackman match, and while he's an uncouth imbecile, he's no blue chipper!

Goldust cosplays as Sable and Dude Love on the same night, and- oh no! It's the Honky Tonk Man!
Stone Senate has been called “a heavier version of Lynyrd Skynyrd, crossed with The Allman Brothers Band”. While being mentioned in such heady company is flattering, it is important to note Stone Senate is most definitely not a retro act. They are taking what came naturally from their collective influences a step further and making a name for themselves in the world of modern country rock. The band is fronted by vocalist/ guitarist Clint Woolsey's smoldering, soulful vocals and unmistakable stage presence. Meanwhile stage left and stage right are burning down with dual lead guitars/vocals of James Beau Edwards and Brother Ted Hennington. Add to that the bonded rhythm section of Kieran Cronley on bass and David “DZ” Zettler on drums/ vocals, and you have caught lightning in a bottle. Stone Senate has toured with Bulletboys, Uli Jon Roth, Davisson Brothers Band, and Tantric, and direct support for bands such as Styx, Collective Soul, Jackyl, Cowboy Mouth, Saliva, Little Texas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Quiet Riot, Asleep at the Wheel, Lit, Alien Ant Farm, Tom Kiefer Band, Billy Gibbons and the BFG's, Tim Montana, Uncle Kracker, Rehab, David Alan Coe, Whitford – St Holmes, David Lee Murphy, Andy Ross, Mike Zito, John Micheal Montgomery, Eddie Montgomery, and Confederate Railroad to name a few. www.stonesenate.com Creator and Executive Producer Emeritus: Tom Sabella Showrunner and Host (the guy who has a face for podcasting): Bob Bender Management Representation: Chuck Thompson for Thompson Entertainment Group, LLC Co-Producer - Audio/Video Editor (the man behind the curtain): Mark Sabella Director of Video and Continuity (the brains of the entire operation): Deborah Halle Marketing and Social Media (all knowing): Sarah Fleshner for 362 Entertainment All Around Problem Solver (and Mental Health Therapist for us): Connie Ribas Recorded inside what could be an old beat up Airstream Trailer located somewhere on what's left of Music Row in Nashville TN (Man we sure do miss Noshville, and the Longhorn Steakhouse) Mixed and Mastered at Music Dog Studios in Nashville, TN Editing and Post at Midnight Express Studio located in Olian, NY Production Sound Design: Keith Stark Voice Over and Promo: Lisa Fuson Special Thanks to the creator and founder of the podcast, Tom Sabella, along with Traci Snow for producing and hosting over 100 episodes of the original "Business Side of Music" podcast and trusting us to carry on their legacy. Jackyl frontman and long time friend of the show Jesse James Dupree's new solo album. "Breathing Fire" dropped at midnight last night, and it just might be the best straight up rock and roll album to come out this year!!Every track is steeped in everything we love about rock and roll...and it delivers on every level! And Jesse gave us a call this morning to tell us all about how this scorcher of an album came about!!
“Sure, God's all-powerful, but does he have lips? Whoa…” It was the early 90's, and the landscape of metal was undergoing a transformation. Hair metal was effectively dead and gone, the popularity of thrash was rapidly approaching its zenith, and ALICE IN CHAINS were well on their way to becoming one of the most recognized bands in the world, thanks (in no small part) to their slot supporting The Clash of the Titans Tour, opening for 75% (or ¾ if you prefer fractions) of The Big Four as perhaps the most obscure, unknown, and “out of place” band on a bill packed with the biggest names in thrash. While ALICE IN CHAINS brought their own unique brand of metal to a brand-new (and oftentimes “highly resistant”) audience as the “odd ducks” relative to their legendary thrash counterparts, AIC's “baptism by fire” granted them the opportunity to prove their mettle while winning over new legions of metal fans and helping pave the way for the next evolutionary wave of metal which would soon be rising to prominence. Get ready to learn the answer to “Where?” and prepare to get “sucked in” as we unveil the actual reason why glam bands wore make-up and remember why “It's gotta be clean and it's gotta be huge” if you “won't be taking baths this year” whenever you JOIN US for some “third eye gravy” as we go INSIDE THE METAL of a band sharing more in common with Slayer than you'd think and journey to the rainy, perpetually moist, Pacific Northwest (where one might “hunt for some Squatch”) with Seattle's native sons, ALICE IN CHAINS. Jesse James Dupree discusses his upcoming solo album, 'Breathing Fire,' what it was like working with AC/DC's Brian Johnson on some of the new songs and what fans can expect from Jackyl's last live show of 2023.
Raucous Jackyl frontman Jesse James Dupree discusses his latest solo song "Never Gets Old" which was co-written with ACDC's Brian Johnson. Jesse also gives the latest update on Jackyl and sets the scene for the release of his solo album "Breathing Fire."
It's always great to talk with my friend, Jesse James Dupree from Jackyl. He's got a new album coming out on November 10th called, "Breathing Fire". He told me about the idea of the record, which was born out of good old fashioned Rock N' Roll. Brian Johnson from AC/DC helped to write some of the material. He said Brian called him out of the blue, while Jesse was contemplating and putting thoughts together for new music. "Next thing I know, I'm writing songs with Brian Johnson of AC/DC." Jesse talked about the entire process of how the songs came together with his son, Nigel and Jackyl bassist, Roman Glick. He talked how the cadence of the latest single "Never Gets Old" had a Marine cadence to it. That's out now and you can see the video here, which is the lyric video with 32 different fonts from some of your favorite bands. You can win cash and more if you can name all the bands. Punch up Jesse's site to find out how to win. We also talked about working with his son, Nigel. He tells a funny story about how it's different to get into an argument with a band member as opposed to your son. LOL I also asked him about the use of "The Lumberjack" in the Foo Fighter's Studio 666 movie. It's one of the most brutal death scenes I've ever seen in a horror movie. He went on to tell me a story about Nirvana almost getting kicked out of a Jackyl show in Seattle back in the day. As some of you may or may not know, Jesse works heavily with Harley-Davidson. We talked about that as well. -Meltdown- https://www.jessejamesdupree.com/

Push comes to shove, there's no other rock 'n' roll outlaw out there like Jackyl's own, Jesse James Dupree, the southern hard rock frontman and star of Full Throttle Saloon, a TV series set in South Dakota featuring the world's largest biker bar—but more importantly one of Brian Johnson's earliest collaborators and confidants (not to mention one hell of an AC/DC fan and vocal doppelgänger). Better grease up that chainsaw, 'cause this episode about to get locked and loaded!
Once upon a time, a man decided that a chainsaw was a musical instrument. Thus, Tom's interest in Jackyl was born. On today's lost episode, you get to hear not only all about the song, you get to hear the song itself along with commentary from the man responsible for it. Then you'll hear our commentary of his commentary. Maybe one day, someone will commentate on our commentary. I guess that's technically what I'm doing right now. You see, it all connects.
