In this episode we look at Bigfoot in Africa. Whether known as Raka or Otang or any other of its many names the Man-Ape of Africa looks and sounds a lot like the American Bigfoot.
Up until just a few years ago, performers and creatures alike would hop aboard their private coaches and wind their way across the country to perform spectacles for audiences young and old. The circus was designed to bring the extraordinary into our ordinary lives. One minute we are tending to our daily grind, and the next, oddities and athletes alike arrive and show us that our bubble is not as small as we once thought. Sword swallowers, fire jugglers, and contortionists wow us with their superhuman feats. Lions, tigers, and elephants dazzled us with their exotic showmanship. But as the circus became more mainstream, they began looking for new acts to fill their onlookers with wonder - and, of course, their wallets with cash. That brings us to Chatawa, a small town on the Mississippi-Louisiana border where one fate-filled evening, a circus train on its way from Chicago to New Orleans hopped the tracks and inadvertently released a ferocious, unknown monster from its cage that's said to still terrorize the Mississippi swamps to this day. -------- All links

Night of the Bloody Apes (1969)
Most of you know me for my Youtube Channel or through one of my Social media sites. I make articles and podcasts and I am asked often why I do what I do, it seems strange to some that an ordinary lady from the North West of England has an interest in the subject of Cryptid Creatures and Unexplained Phenomena across the globe. I am known for reports of encounters, but would it surprise you to know that I have also experienced something completely impossible to explain, and it has been my search for answers to this event which has led me to where I am today. The images you see are real and from my town, they show the streets I grew up in, the school I went to and the park land through the years. Any Creature Images are picked out by the witnesses in order to give a good illustration of what they each saw. This all started for me back in 1982, I lived in an area called Pendleton, Salford in the North West of England, just at the end of the Manchester Ship Canal. It must have been mid afternoon the sun was shining on us and it was lovely to be honest, warm and sunny. I was chatting and laughing with my friend when we both caught a very slight movement in the bushes and shadows, the next thing a huge hairy gorilla ape type face was thrust at us from the bushes. We both screamed while It just glared at us. It was a huge thing, it looked like a man and an ape had been pushed together, combined and presented in such a way to horrify young children, a monster. It wasnt a kid in a mask, or a strange homeless tramp. In fact many years later I sat down with a police profile artist who made an artist rendition of what I saw that day. He was dark leathery skinned, he had amber dark eyes and his hair was really dark brown that it almost looked black, but it also had a redness to it. His jawline was thickly muscled and his mouth and teeth were like ours, his nose was flattish like a boxers. I just looked at him terrified. I remember the muscles around his face, he looked like he could crush bones with one bite. A powerful horror fit for anyone's nightmare.I had no way of describing what I saw back then but I knew other people must have seen them too. Many years later I did find some similar looking 'creatures' in archives and books but nothing spot on. Nothing completely exact. In my head he is still the man ape, the popular name is British Bigfoot, Woodwose, Wildman.
On visiting Avengers Mansion, Captain America is attacked by none other than M'Baku, the Man-Ape. How is he still alive and what could this traitorous Wakandan want with Cap? When the Avengers return to Wakanda with Black Panther, they find trouble is afoot. Will they be able to foil the machinations of M'Baku, the Man-Ape? Or will Black Panther lose his kingdom forever? Featured Issue: Avengers #62 Writer: Roy Thomas Penciller: John Buscema Inker: George Klein Letterer: Art Simek
On todays episode, we have the first appearance of M'Baku the Man-Ape. In this Avengers story that focuses on Black Panther, we see the Avengers head to Wakanda after their success over Ymir and Surtur. But all is not well in the halls of the Wakanda Kingdom. Can Black Panther defend his right to rule? Is the Man-Ape right about Black Panther? Will Vision stop pretending to be human? That last one is a trick question. Part 2 Disney Parks may be creating a full on, Wakanda Land!! If so, who will they hire to be in the costumes? Will we have another "Mickey Mouse is Mexican!" moment? Quote from Dave Chappelle. The synergy between African American’s working well with Africans in the narrative and in the characters, was beautiful, despite Sam Jackson's dividing critique of black British actors taking US roles - The Guardian. Marvel letting filmmakers express themselves in these movies, let the creators create! Michael Ganchino with Dr. Strange started making music that fits the character, also again in Spiderman. In Thor – Mark Mothersburg was the dude behind Devo. And Coogler brought Ludwig Goransson used as many African sounds as possible - Hollywood Reporter Forest Whitiker – gave us “FULL Forest!” A beloved strong actor, but can he be too strong for this role in BP and in Rogue One? Denzel Whitiker – who played young Zuri, despite having absolutely no relation to Forest, he looked just like him, down to the eyes!! M'Baku's – (Winston Duke) performance was excellent given his small on screen time. Could have been dicey if they called him a lot by his real name, Man Ape. It was done respectfully due to a black writer!

SORRY SO TARDY...I WAS ON VACATION. (-Jason) I guess we finally get to the bottom of this whole "which brother is actually my brother" thing, but the only fighting we witness is fighting the urge to scream at the creators for all of these flashbacks. Oh, and most of the bad guys escape anyway.
We're taking a detour for a convoluted story about brothers and zombies and lots and lots of flashbacks. The West Coast Avengers battle Ultron and oceans. Vision and Scarlet Witch go house hunting and learn to drive. Did I mention zombies? Oh yes. That too.
A NEW CHALLENGER APPEARS! Leroy and Eli welcome Ciff “The Tribunal” Wynne to the show! Leroy and Cliff share stories of growing up as a blerd, and discuss Bill Maher in length, from blaming the fall of society to comic book movies to his recent use of the N word. Is Spider-Man really a flop…or is the internet overreacting again? We also discuss the apparent Man Ape name change and why it's pointless. Leroy also pitches a Man Ape comic story that hopefully he can pitch to Marvel. We also the discuss the 13th Doctor. Female doctor, you say? Find out why Cliff doesn't like the change. Find out how this shockingly relates to an 80's X-Men story, and was it right to kill Gwen Stacy? Also, who's better for Superman, Wonder Woman or Lois Lane? All this and MUCH more! Hold on to your spandex, superheroes! The Man-Ape is back...and Living Laser...and Power Man...and Swordsman...and Grim Reaper too. It's the Lethal Legion! The villains kidnap the team but end up losing anyway. AGAIN. And then the Vision quits. Whee.
Dr. Strange shows up and uses the team as a distraction to save the world, but leaves them stranded in Africa, so Black Panther takes them to his place where he faces off against the Man-Ape, and then they finally make it home only to see Hawkeye ditch his bow and arrows to become the new Goliath. That's a whole bunch of dumb.
