https://teachhoops.com/ If you audit a standard, average basketball practice on a cold Tuesday afternoon in January, you will see a gym overflowing with unintentional friction. You will witness coaches who blow the whistle to deliver ten-minute lectures while twelve players stand completely still, watching their core body temperatures plummet. You will see long, single-file lines where athletes wait passively for two minutes just to take a single, un-contested layup. And you will see head coaches screaming directives on every single possession, acting as a human joystick while their players move like robotic actors. They don't do this maliciously; they do it because "clean" practices feel like real coaching. But when you step into the "Truth Room," you realize that allowing these subtle habits to exist introduces a massive operational leak into your culture. In this episode of Coach Unplugged, recorded live at 5th Quarter Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, Coach Collins flips the clipboard around to outline the non-negotiable Things We Should Avoid at Practice. We break down the absolute poison of low activity density, single-file lines, zero-decision choreography, and coach-fed joystick directives. Discover how purging these six destructive habits from your 120-minute practice script will instantly elevate your team's independent Decision IQ, maximize your game-night Effective Field Goal Percentage ($eFG%$), and slide your roster into an unshakeable, player-led standard. To protect your program's unyielding Standard of Tolerance and maximize your team's long-term Resilience Equity, your staff must actively purge these six operational traps from every single practice block: The Leak: Stopping practice to deliver exhaustive, lecture-heavy monologues while players stand frozen on the baseline. The Fix: Banish long huddles during active blocks. Deploy rapid, 60-second "drive-by" socratic corrections on the move. Let The Organizer on your staff police the clock while you deliver sharp, high-signal cues that keep the gears turning. The Leak: Setting up drills where one athlete executes a rep while eleven peers stand behind a cone watching passively. The Fix: Enforce a strict Multi-Ball architecture across all court baskets. Ensure that at least $70%$ of your roster is catching, cutting, or passing concurrently to eliminate hidden boredom leaks and maximize your gym's Activity Density. The Leak: Running scripted, zero-defense drills where the pass, cut, and finish are predetermined before the ball is even inbounded. The Fix: Corrupt every drill with live variables. Add a defender, add a decision, or add a competitive consequence. Force your players to scan live bodies, read collapsing defender hips, and solve dynamic spatial puzzles. The Leak: Screaming instructions on every bounce ("Pass left! Cut now! Shoot it!"), stripping your athletes of their independent decision-making capabilities. The Fix: Put your whistle in your pocket during Small-Sided Games ($SSGs$). Allow your players to fail, adapt, and communicate coverages through the exhaust. Shift your culture from coach-fed compliance to a Player-Led powerhouse. The Leak: Allowing players to shoot comfortable, zero-friction catch-and-shoot jumpers off gentle feeds from a standing passer. The Fix: Require active footwork, spatial cutting geometry, and live high-hands closeouts on every perimeter shot. Game-night shooting efficiency is built through high-stress, contextual repetitions. The Leak: Blowing the whistle to run baseline sprints as a blind punishment for a tactical error, completely severing the mental connection between effort and execution. The Fix: Embed physical strain directly into your competitive drills. If a team turns the ball over or fails to close out with High Hands, put them on defense in a live disadvantage scenario. Teach them how to execute under fatigue rather than just running mindlessly. We don't purge these practice leaks simply to look structured on paper. We eliminate them because dead time, low rep density, and robotic choreography directly destroy your team's mathematical output on Friday night. Every live closeout read, multi-ball pass, and rapid socratic correction directly impacts your team's Effective Field Goal Percentage ($eFG%$): When you replace choreography with functional friction during Tuesday's practice, you ensure that your team possesses the structural armor needed to convert high-efficiency looks under heavy postseason pressure. Coach's Note: "Your job as a program builder isn't to run a clean, tidy practice where everybody looks great doing choreographed routines; your job is to build players who can actually play basketball when you aren't saying a word. Stop standing at the whiteboard for ten minutes, stop letting kids stand in single-file lines, and stop playing the game for them from the baseline. Corrupt your drills, clean up your clock, demand high-hands discipline, and force your players to own the room." Title Ideas: 6 Things You MUST Avoid at Basketball Practice! Visit https://teachhoops.com/ for modern warm-up alternatives, evidence-based practice routines, and updated drill libraries that prioritize game-realistic skill development over tradition-based activities that may not serve your program's needs anymore. In this episode, we revisit the controversial 5-man weave debate with fresh perspective: examining whether this classic basketball drill that's been passed down through generations of coaches still deserves a place in contemporary practice planning, or if it's finally time to retire it in favor of more purposeful alternatives. This isn't about disrespecting coaching tradition—it's about being honest regarding whether the weave actually develops skills that transfer to games or if we're simply running it because "that's how we've always done it." We critically evaluate what the 5-man weave supposedly teaches: passing on the move, communication, timing, conditioning, and team rhythm at the start of practice. Then we examine what it actually reinforces: passing and cutting behind the ball (which you never want players doing in games), running in predetermined patterns without reading defenses or making decisions, equal spacing that doesn't reflect real offensive positioning, and movements that have zero transfer to any offensive system coaches actually run. You'll hear defenders of the drill argue it builds camaraderie and serves as a reliable warm-up routine, while critics counter that those same objectives can be achieved through drills with significantly more skill development value and game applicability. This episode provides compelling alternatives if you decide the traditional 5-man weave doesn't justify the practice time it consumes: 3-man weave variations that incorporate finishing decisions and proper spacing, pass-and-follow drills with cuts to the basket rather than behind teammates, continuous transition sequences that develop fast-break execution, competitive passing circuits under time pressure with realistic movements, and dynamic warm-ups that prepare bodies for basketball while teaching actual offensive concepts. We discuss how to evaluate every drill through the critical lens of game transfer—does this activity develop skills, movements, or decision-making that players will use in competition, or are we just filling time with familiar routines? Whether you're a traditionalist who's never questioned the weave or a progressive coach who eliminated it years ago, you'll gain clarity on making intentional choices about practice activities that maximize player development rather than simply maintaining comfortable traditions that may have outlived their usefulness. 5-man weave basketball, basketball weave drill debate, outdated basketball drills, do we need weave drill, traditional basketball drills, modern basketball warm-ups, basketball practice alternatives, game transfer drills, basketball drill evaluation, weave drill value, effective basketball warm-ups, basketball practice efficiency, purposeful basketball drills, drill modernization basketball, basketball tradition vs innovation, practice time optimization, basketball warm-up routines, game-realistic drills basketball, basketball drill transfer, questioning traditional drills, basketball practice evolution, weave drill alternatives, modern coaching methods basketball, basketball drill purpose, effective practice design, basketball training efficiency, drill selection basketball, Wisconsin basketball drills, high school practice planning, basketball coaching innovation SEO Keywords: Learn more about your ad choices. In this week's edition of Hockey (and Sports) Talk, the guys continue to be blown away by the exploits of Alexander Ovechkin, who continued to creep closer to Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record. Along the way, the Great 8 made more history with yet another 20-goal season. At 39 years young, Ovechkin is doing things we did not think possible, and the guys contemplate his place as one of the greatest ever in NHL history. The CFP Semi-Finals delivered two electrifying battles. Patrick & Dave break all that down and look ahead to the National Championship game between Notre Dame and Ohio State. In this week's edition of Hockey (and Sports talk....a temporary name guys, trust us) Talk, the guys talk a lot about the CFP Quarterfinals and address how, and why, the top 4 seeds fell flat when it mattered most. The guys also take a look at the Final Four and discuss how the SEC's bravado heading into the CFP has been (mostly) striped away, how the Big Ten has emerged as the best Conference in the Nation, and how Notre Dame can prove that Conferences are kind of overrated. There is hockey to discuss and that is all about the Gr8 Chase as Alex Ovechkin's quest to break Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record suddenly appears very likely to be broken this season. All that is wrapped around a discussion of a pending format change for the show, in general, as we ring in the new year.Today's hosts are Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and Patrick O'Dowd (@WrestlngRealist).The guys discuss the CFP QuarterfinalsThe Gr8 Chase heats upAbout the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction and more! In this week's edition of Hockey Talk, the guys again take a more holistic approach to the discussion as they cover a wide variety of sports topics including the Quarterfinal matchups of the CFP, what Patrick expects from the Illinois v. South Carolina battle in the Citrus Bowl, and why he is less than enthused about the idea of Pete Caroll being the next coach of the Chicago Bears. For once, things are not nearly as dire for Dave's teams and this was hammered home by the return of Alexander Ovechkin to the Washington Capitals' lineup. With Ovi resuming his chase for Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record, the guys discuss how far the Caps might be able to go. The Big Five Project returns to bring 1994 to an end as the guys cover Survivor Series '94. As 1994 came to an end, the winds of change continued to sweep through the WWF and that was highly evident on a November evening in San Antonio. A better event than the year before, Survivor Series '94 featured the break-up of Shawn Michaels and Diesel, a feud that would extend all the way to WrestleMania XI. Meanwhile, Survivor Series '94 would see a shocking WWF Championship title change as Bob Backlund, with a huge assist from Owen Hart, would dethrone Bret "Hitman" Hart in an unforgettable, emotionally charged, and highly controversial match. Thanks to Bret's mother, Mr. Backlund became the oldest WWF Champion in history (at the time) and Owen Hart showed us all just how low he would stoop to screw his brother over. Add in some solid Survivor Series matches, a special appearance by Chuck Norris, and The Undertaker exacting a measure of revenge against Yokozuna and we are left with a very solid PPV to close out 1994! This week's edition of Hockey Talk focuses on Dave's Washington Capitals. The Caps are off to a surprisingly strong start and sitting atop the Metropolitan Division. Along the way, Alex Ovechkin has gone on a goal-scoring run, and all of a sudden, the Great 8's quest to dethrone the Great One as the all-time leading goal scorer this season does not seem so far-fetched. Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets finally lost and then tallied off a few more wins to remain red-hot. At the other end of the spectrum, the early season woes of the Colorado Avalanche have both guys concerned that the Avs might be unable to right the ship. All that and much more on this week's edition of Hockey Talk.Today's hosts are Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and Patrick O'Dowd (@WrestlngRealist).The Washington Capitals might be better than advertisedAlex Ovechkin closes the gap to GretzkyThe Jets stay hotThe Avs are notAbout the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction and more! This week's installment of Hockey Talk takes a long look at the red-hot Winnipeg Jets (who were undefeated at the time of recording). Are the Jets for real, and, more importantly, can they finally succeed in the playoffs? Meanwhile, the defending champion Florida Panthers have rebounded convincingly from a "slow" start, Edmonton and Colorado continue to sputter, Dallas and Minnesota stay right on Winnipeg's heels, and how good can the Los Angeles Kings or Calgary Flames be—all that and more on this week's Hockey Talk.Today's hosts are Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and Patrick O'Dowd (@WrestlngRealist).The Winnipeg Jets continue to rollWhat is up with Edmonton and ColoradoThe champs have not lost a stepAbout the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction and more! This week's installment of Hockey Talk is more of a conversation about sports in general, as the guys have their fingers on the pulse of everything. Patrick is giddy about his beloved Illinois Fighting Illini, announcing to the world that they have arrived as the #20 Illini took down the defending champion Michigan Wolverines, the Illini's first win against Michigan since 2009! The guys also discuss just what it means to the baseball world to have a New York Yankees vs Los Angeles Dodgers World Series. There is hockey to talk about, as well, as the New York Rangers and Utah Hockey Club continue to look strong in the season's opening weeks, while the Nashville Predators look to be historically bad. Dave acknowledges his Washington Capitals might be better than he thought, and the guys look forward to Frozen Frenzy on Tuesday. With all 32 teams in action, which games will be worth watching? The Big Five Project returns…and so does Kinny Killa as one of the best friends of the show makes a special guest appearance to cover Summer Slam '94! Emanating from the brand-new United Center in Chicago, the 1994 edition of WWE's summer extravaganza was an exceptionally good event that featured Razor Ramon recapturing the Intercontinental Championship, a very surprising heel turn, and one of the best women's matches anywhere in 1994. The highlight, of course, was the epic Steel Cage match for the WWF Championship between Owen Hart and his brother Bret “The Hitman” Hart and the guys do a watch along of that match here. Is it the greatest Steel Cage match of all time, as Dave suggests, or does the match go too long? All that plus the return of The Undertaker as he takes on…. The Undertaker? DJ returns to Musical Charis this week as he and Dave have a couple more tremendous bands to tell you all about. Dave kicks off this week by talking about one of the most influential and sometimes controversial bands from the emo-rock scene of the Aughts, Brand New. The boys from Long Island blazed a trail through the rock scene from the first part of this century with a level of complexity and musical development lacking from so many of their contemporaries. Dave covers their relatively short but very powerful history in this week's Episode. DJ then talks about one of the biggest bands in the history of heavy metal, Judas Priest. A staple of the heavy metal scene in the 80s, there was no band quite like Judas Priest. From stadium anthems to radio-friendly hits to complex compositions, Judas Priest has been doing things their way since 1969, and you would be hard-pressed to find someone unfamiliar with at least one of their songs. So join us for another face-melting edition of Musical Chairs!Today's hosts: Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and DJ (@TheMindlessPod)Episode 7 of Season 4 of Musical Chairs focuses on Brand New & Judas PriestAbout Chairshot RadioThe rebirth of Chairshot Radio will see a rotating cast of hosts delivering you a new show EVERY day. Musical Chairs returns this week with one of those classic Episodes where the guys are at opposite ends of the spectrum. This week, Dave covers Bad Religion, one of the bands primarily responsible for the revival of the punk rock scene in Southern California in the 1990s. Known for their impeccable harmonies, smart lyrics, and unforgettable style, Bad Religion has survived many lineup changes (save for Greg Graffin) and has been going strong since 1980. At the other end of the spectrum, Patrick covers the biggest musical star on the planet, Taylor Swift. While neither Patrick nor Dave would consider themselves a Swifty, there is a heathy appreciation and respect for her music and for all she has accomplished. From sold-out tours worldwide to her impact on the NFL and everything in between, Patrick asks a thought-provoking question: Is Taylor Swift now bigger than The Beatles or Michael Jackson ever was?Today's hosts: Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and Patrick O' Dowd (@WrestlngRealist)Episode 6 of Season 4 of Musical Chairs focuses on Bad Religion & Taylor SwiftAbout Chairshot RadioThe rebirth of Chairshot Radio will see a rotating cast of hosts delivering you a new show EVERY day. The Big Five Project returns to crown a new King of the Ring. In 1994, on the heels of WrestleMania X, Owen Hart found himself still in the shadow of his brother, Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Although he beat Bret at WrestleMania, it was the Hitman who left as the WWF Champion. On this night, in Baltimore, Maryland, Owen took a major step in carving his own identity as he won three matches to emerge as the King of the Ring for 1994! Meanwhile, brother Bret had his hands full with a title defense against the reigning Intercontinental Champion, Diesel. Throw in a tag title defense by The Headshrinkers and a main event featuring two guys over the age of 40, and this first PPV of the "New Generation" era was one to remember. So, we invite you to join us for a tremendous recap of King of the Ring '94 and the birth of the King of Harts!About the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction, Attitude Of Aggression, and more! Patrick returns to Musical Chairs as the guys cover two more epic bands from the pages of rock's history book. For several weeks now, Patrick has made it known that he planned on covering Alice In Chains for his next band, and that would come to pass with this Episode. Formed in the late 80s, Alice In Chains rose to rock prominence in the early 90's with some of the most iconic songs from that entire era. Despite losing one of the most recognizable frontmen of that time frame (Layne Staley), the band has forged on and is still making great music to this day. Dave, on the other hand, covers Rainbow. After leaving Deep Purple, Ritchie Blackmore created Rainbow, and despite an ever-changing lineup of singers and band members, Rainbow certainly left its mark and became a staple of the early days of MTV. It's another great installment of Musical Charis that you won't want to miss.Today's hosts: Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and Patrick O' Dowd (@WrestlngRealist)Episode 5 of Season 4 of Musical Chairs focuses on Alice In Chains & RainbowAbout Chairshot RadioThe rebirth of Chairshot Radio will see a rotating cast of hosts delivering you a new show EVERY day. The Big Five Project returns for one of the most anticipated Episodes in its relatively young history as this week the guys (joined by the one and only DPP) tackle WrestleMania X. Having toiled through a deluge of subpar PPVs in 1993, The Big Five Project reaches a proverbial oasis in the desert as WrestleMania X is one of the best Manias of all-time. The 10th Anniversary of the Showcase of the Immortals featured not one, but two, of the greatest WrestleMania matches ever and this Episode contains watch alongs of both of those matches: Bret Hart v. Owen Hart and then Shawn Michaels v. Razor Ramon in a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship! Also at WrestleMania X, we got "Macho Man" Randy Savage's final WrestleMania match, and the end of Yokozuna's reign as WWF Champion! So, we invite you to join us for a tremendous recap of WrestleMania X and one of the best Episodes of The Big Five Project so far!About the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction, Attitude Of Aggression, and more! After a Disney-caused delay of one week, Musical Chairs is back to give you another trip down Musical Memory Lane. Dave again brought in DJ to help this week, and the guys did not disappoint as they focused on two more iconic and unforgettable acts from the annals of music history. On 08/15/2024, we lost Jack Russell, the lead singer of Great White, and DJ honored him by taking an in-depth look at one of the heavy hitters from the hair metal era of rock. A horrifically tragic event sometimes makes it easy to forget how good Great White was. Well, DJ reminds us how awesome they were and how two smash-hit records in 1987 and 1989 put the boys on the map in a big way. Meanwhile, Dave focused on Dream Theater, one of the early pillars of the 90's prog rock movement. Like Rush two decades earlier, Dream Theater earned its musical independence thanks to an innovative and excellent concept album. Known for their complex musical style and very long songs, Dream Theater created a perfect convergence of prog rock and thrash metal that has endured for over 30 years. So, tune in again this week and learn a little bit about two more excellent bands!Today's hosts: Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and DJ (@TheMindlessPod)Episode 4 of Season 4 of Musical Chairs focuses on Great White & Dream TheaterAbout Chairshot RadioThe rebirth of Chairshot Radio will see a rotating cast of hosts delivering you a new show EVERY day. With Patrick rocking his brains out and having his face melted by Metallica, Dave brought in a more than capable pitch hitter to join him for this latest edition of Musical Chairs....DJ from The Mindless Wrestling Podcast (and an integral part of The Big Five Project as well). For this Episode, Dave chose one of the biggest acts in rock history, The Rolling Stones. The Stones have been touring and making music for an astonishing seven decades and are still going strong. At one time, they were the only band who could be mentioned in the same breath as The Beatles. But, The Stones forged their own path through history, a path sometimes filled with controversy and tragedy. For his maiden voyage onto the waters of Musical Chairs, DJ selected Twisted Sister, an icon of the 80's hair metal scene. Though they might not have reached the same heights as some of their more glamorous colleagues, there is no denying the impact their music had on the rock scene and, in particular, the music video industry at a time when MTV was becoming a staple of Americana. So, tune in this week and learn a few things about two more massive bands plucked from the annals of musical history!Today's hosts: Dave Ungar (@AttitudeAgg) and DJ (@TheMindlessPod)Episode 3 of Season 4 of Musical Chairs focuses on The Rolling Stones & Twisted SisterAbout Chairshot RadioThe rebirth of Chairshot Radio will see a rotating cast of hosts delivering you a new show EVERY day. The Big Five Project returns for another installment in the chronological analysis, review, and discussion about WWE's Big Five PPVs/ Premium Live Events. In this Episode, the guys cover Royal Rumble '94. Having survived a less-than-stellar 1993, WWE would rebound with a much stronger effort in 1994, and it began here at the Royal Rumble. The undercard shined on this night with great matches featuring Tatanka v. Bam Bam Bigelow and Razor Ramon defending the Intercontinental Championship against IRS. But two other matches would have massive implications. In one of them, Owen Hart turned on his brother Bret to kick off one of the biggest feuds in WWE history. In the other, Yokozuna and half the roster stuffed the Undertaker into a casket, and he was not seen again until the summer. Then, we ended up with one of the most controversial finishes to a Royal Rumble match in history. There is a lot to like here at Royal Rumble '94 so tune in to this latest installment of the Big Five Project and get all the details!About the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction, Attitude Of Aggression, and more! Musical Chairs returns for another excellent installment as we take a look at two more tremendous acts from the annals of music history. This week, Patrick chose Randy Newman. Equal parts songwriter and performer Randy Newman is one of the most celebrated songwriters of this, or any other, generation. In the later part of his career, he composed no less than nine Disney-Pixar films, and he has been nominated for 22 Academy Awards! Dave, meanwhile, chose one of the most iconic and controversial bands of all time...The Doors. Led by one of rock's all-time great frontmen, Jim Morrison, The Doors redefined music in the late 60's and early 70's. Despite being under constant scrutiny.... including being banned in many parts of the nation... The Doors became legends and their music continues to be extremely popular even today. Tune in this week and learn a few things about two hugely important fixtures of musical history! Musical Chairs is back! On the season 4 premiere, the fellas get going with two rather different bands. What else is new, right? Here this week, Dave covers Suicidal Tendencies. Formed in Venice, California, Suicidal Tendencies was one of the first bands to merge punk and metal at a time when fans of punk and metal did not agree on much of anything. One of the grandfathers of thrash metal, Suicidal Tendencies left a lasting impression on the music industry that persists to this day. Patrick, meanwhile, took a detailed look at one of his all-time favorite bands, and a band that is as much a staple of Americana as any of them...The Beach Boys. The magic of Brian Wilson has captivated fans for decades and the music of The Beach Boys is at the forefront of that. Patrick gives you a good rundown of The Beach Boys and their fascinating career here on the season premiere of Musical Chairs. Tune in and learn a few things about two very different, but equally awesome musical acts! The Big Five Project returns for another installment in the chronological analysis, review, and discussion about WWE's Big Five PPVs/ Premium Live Events. On this Episode, the guys cover Survivor Series '93. WWE's roster continued to go through a ton of upheaval in the fall of 1993 and that is clearly evident here. Although this event went back to its roots, featuring the rerun of traditional Survivor Series elimination matches, those matches largely fell flat in a disappointing event. Still, the beginnings of two huge feuds (Bret Hart v. Owen Hart and Yokozuna v. The Undertaker) get their origins at Survivor Series '93, so it is not all bad. Plus, a championship match that was not even for any title sanctioned by WWE actually stole the show. Curious? They discuss the Florida Panthers prevailing in an epic Game 7 to avoid a historic collapse and capture the first Stanley Cup in franchise history. They also talk about the NHL Draft and free agency, and how both hitting within days of the Cup being raised is a good indicator that the hockey season has gotten too damn long.
