The moment you choose to change your relationship to money is the moment you change every single generation ahead of you. In this episode of Finding Brave, top financial wellbeing speaker, multi-award-winning Financial Coach, and international author Catherine Morgan joins us to talk about a vitally important topic: when money feels dangerous and how to heal our survival response to wealth. A Financial Wellbeing Speaker, multi-award-winning Financial Coach, and international author of the bestselling book It's Not About the Money, Catherine presents a trauma-informed psychological approach to money. As the founder of The Money Panel®, Catherine trains financial professionals through her acclaimed Financial Coach Certification program, and works with consumers through empowering courses and retreats.  Recognized as one of the top 32 female entrepreneurs by Business Leader, her expertise has been featured in a wide array of top media and her podcast It's Not About The Money is in the top 0.5% in the world. Catherine's journey into financial coaching began with her own realization of how emotions and money are deeply connected. She unpacks the hidden blueprint of abundance that we inherit, particularly from maternal relationships, and how these subconscious beliefs can impact our financial well-being. We also discuss the core beliefs that influence financial health, as well as the new paradigms of wealth, expansion, and contraction. Catherine sheds light on the powerful emotions of shame and guilt around money, how they manifest in the body, and the essential practice of reclaiming your worth beyond financial status. Finally, Catherine offers a simple yet transformative piece of advice that is relevant for everyone, no matter where they are in their financial journey. Through forgiveness work and deep self-acceptance, she reveals how we can release financial fear and step into a healthier, more empowered and loving relationship with money. If you're ready to shift your financial story and experience and embrace true wealth as it feels most heart-aligned for you, this episode is a must-listen.   Key Points From This Episode:  Welcome to Catherine Morgan, who is also featured in the Finding Brave Episode 205 and 206 in our 2-part series about Building Financial Wellbeing Into the Heart of Your Life and Work. My guest today is the amazing Catherine Morgan. Catherine is a multi award-winning, qualified financial planner and certified financial coach. She is passionate about increasing financial empowerment and resilience for women around the world. Catherine was featured as one of the top 32 female entrepreneurs to look out for in Business Leader, is the host of the top 1% global podcast ‘In Her Financial Shoes' and founder of the Money Panel. She has written the number 1 Amazon Best Selling book ‘It's Not About The Money' and is here to share her experience and expertise with you. In this episode, we discuss how to break money habits and build wealth. Catherine explores money trauma and how it shows up for so many women entrepreneurs. Our beliefs around money come with strings attached and ‘should' statements, ie. ‘I should be better with money' ‘I should be able to pay off my debt'. But are they really true? Catherine explains the concepts of Borrowed Emotions and Borrowed Beliefs to explore how we lose access to our own authentic emotions and beliefs. We then aren't clear on our own identity and lose our intuition around our decisions. Catherine delves into how people-pleasing and looking after everybody else's needs before our own has a significant impact on women entrepreneurs. She discusses her STRONG model for having powerful and open conversations about money with your partner to become crystal clear on both of your goals and aspirations. There is so much value in this episode, Catherine shares her expertise and we could've discussed this important topic for hours. I encourage you to write down her amazing points to come back to again and again when you're on you're own money journey. LINKS:Where to find Catherine: Podcast: In Her Financial ShoesInstagram: @catherinemorganmoneyWebsite: https://catherinemorgan.com/ FREE Book: It's not about the money by Catherine Morgan Download your Sales Planning Cheatsheet hereSign up for the Swiftmind and 6 Figure Circle here! Having gone straight into financial services at the age of 18, Catherine Morgan found herself in a managerial position at the young age of 28. But among the difficulties of managing those who had been in the business longer than she had, she also had the guilt that came with the £30,000 debt she had racked up.   In a time where she was suffering from low self-esteem, she believed that money could help her feel better and improve her self-worth.  After an insightful experience with her wardrobe, which helped her realise her emotions were triggering her spending in an attempt  to boost her self-worth, Catherine set up her first business helping women to feel good about their bodies.  From there her entrepreneurship took flight and she now runs The Money Panel, an international company helping consumers and advisors with financial coaching; their biggest mission being to equip and prepare 1 million women to be financially resilient, reduce their financial anxiety and help them be financially independent.   Catherine also hosts “In Her Financial Shoe” a finance podcast for women, with the aim of opening up the discussion with women about finance.   Tune in to my conversation where Catherine explains how our emotions are behind all of our actions, and why money is not linked to our self-worth.

Hi Everyone, This is my first solo hosting episode, please be gentle with me! Catherine Morgan is joining me to start off this season. We are talking about people's mindsets, embedded beliefs that dictate how we feel about finances and whether we do or don't trust insurance. I came away with some personal revelations about how my money mindset has been shaped since childhood. We also chat about Catherine's experience applying for insurance having had https://www.specialrisksbureau.co.uk/health-conditions/life-insurance-with-ptsd/ (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) (PTSD) and a recent claim on private medical insurance. Our 3 key takeaways, 1. 90% of our decisions are based upon emotions. 2. The typical types of questions that will be asked about post traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders, when you apply for protection insurance. 3. Two case study clients that have experienced PTSD and the insurances that were available to them, including a specific life insurance that has a permanent self-harm and suicide exclusion. Catherine owns https://themoneypanel.co.uk/ (The Money Panel) and has her own podcast In Her Financial Shoes. This year she has also launched a financial coaching programme and I recommend that you take a look at it. I hope that you enjoy this episode (quickly hides in case solo hosting isn't my strongest skill!). Continuing in the series, "Entrusted: A Parable for Your Life," Pastor Doug Sauder teaches about stewardship of money. To understand how God wants us to manage money, we must remember that we are not entitled to it, but rather are entrusted with it. At tonight's service, we heard from a panel who each shared about how they wisely manage the money God has entrusted to them for His glory and purpose.
