Jasmina Paunović, tužiteljka u penziji, u svojoj poslednjoj epizodi Radar Foruma, ugostila je Dragana Kecmana, dugogodišnjeg policijskog inspektora i nekadašnjeg načelnika UKP, koji je 2022. otišao u penziju - na sopstveni zahtev. Razlog, kako kaže, nije bio pritisak spolja, već spoznaja da sistem u kome je radio više nema ni smisao, ni suštinu. „Nisam mogao više da prihvatim činjenice i dešavanja u Ministarstvu unutrašnjih poslova - instituciji koja bi morala da bude najvažnija u državi. Dođeš na posao, a shvatiš da tvoja funkcija više ništa ne znači. Samo dolaziš i odlaziš, ne pitaš se ni za šta. Postaviš sebi pitanje: čekaj, šta ja to radim? I shvatiš da više ne pripadaš toj instituciji“, govori Kecman i naglašava da na taj način nije bilo moguće preneti znanje ni mlađim kolegama. Tužiteljka Paunović, govoreći u svom iskustvu, povukla je paralelu sa tužilaštvom navodeći da su iskusni i savesni tužioci izolovani od ozbiljnih predmeta i faktički izjednačeni sa pripravnicima. "Time vam stavljaju do znanja da vi više niste dobrodošli u taj kolektiv. Da vi niste neko na koga može da se osloni kako tužilac, tako i institucija, odnosno država." Govoreći o periodu dolaska Dijane Hrkalović u MUP, Kecman ističe da se radi o trenutku kada je institucija izgubila svoj profesionalni refleks i postala hijerarhija straha. Taj period, kaže, bio je najteži u istoriji MUP. „Od 2015. do 2022. godine to je bio najteži period koji je mogao da zadesi policiju. U tom periodu sam imao 25 godina staža, a ljudi koji su komandovali imali su 28 godina života. Očekivao sam starešinu sa iskustvom, sa kojim mogu da razgovaram, da razmenimo stavove, da zajedno rešavamo probleme. Umesto toga, došle su naredbe, naredbe i naredbe - bez dijaloga, bez razumevanja, samo strah i naređenja ‘odmah i za juče'. Mislim da se i dan danas njene sekretarice, čak i direktor policije i svi načelnici službi, kad čuju zvonce, da se trznu i dožive neku neprijatnost.“

We talk to Matt Firth, Gabby Storey and Caroline Wilhelmsson about the development of queenship in the early and high Middle Ages, the key elements of the exercise of the queen's office, how these women were styled (or styled themselves) with titles and which queens have been often overlooked but deserve much more attention.Guest Bios:Matt Firth is an Associate Lecturer of medieval history and literature at Flinders University and a 2025 Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow. His research primarily focuses on historiography, cultural memory, and the transmission of historical narrative across time and place. His most recent article, revising the transmission history Alfred the Great's sobriquet has just been published in The English Historical Review. His first monograph, Early English Queens 850–1000: Potestas Reginae, released earlier this year, examines the history and evolving legacies of England's tenth-century queens. Gabrielle (Gabby) Storey is a historian of monarchy, gender, and sexuality. She has published widely in both popular and academic print on medieval monarchy, rulership, and representations of queenship and power in modern media. Her first book, Berengaria of Navarre, queen of England, Lord of Le Mans, was published by Routledge in 2024. She is currently working on her second book which will be for the general public. Gabby is the founder of Team Queens, an online global queenship resource, and her most recent publication is an edited collection with Zita Eva Rohr on Premodern ruling sexualities, published MUP in 2024.  Caroline Wilhelmsson is an early career historian of state formation and national identity in medieval Sweden. She studies the legal, political, and religious frameworks which led to the emergence of Sweden as a concept. Her first monograph, a group biography of Sweden's earliest recorded queens, sheds light on the inner workings of the nascent Swedish "state" at a time when the monarchy was still ill-defined, and the Church was weak. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at University College Cork where she is mapping medieval Irish walled towns.

Following the fun and frolics of last week, it is time to get down to business. We open with Miles explaining exactly who the WSTA are and what is their role within the drinks industry. There is more to this body than may immediately meet the eye, and the membership encompasses a very broad range of businesses. Lee uses this as an opportunity to push his own #ThinkIndie #DrinkIndie agenda and ask about the engagement and interaction from the indie crowd. It is often asked if bodies like the WSTA are doing enough, but are the indies supporting in return? Given the nature of the work, we ask Miles how he walks the difficult tightrope between satisfying both the needs of members and engaging with government. Following this, we ask if there have been discussions with current shadow ministers and the opposition in the event that there is a change of government. Special mentions to, The Online Wine Tasting Club, North South Wines, and Eynsham Cellars as examples of businesses who have engaged and ‘activated' their local MPs. Other questions raised by our listener and ourselves include the specifics of repackaging sizes, declining alcohol consumption and the continuing rise of the temperance movement and how to respond in the face of these challenges. In this epsiode, we discuss Dr James Crossland's new book 'The Rise of Devils: Fear and the Origins of Modern Terrorism' (Manchester University Press, 2023). We cover much ground relating to the history of terrorism, right up to the preset day and forecasts for the future. James is a Reader in International History, whose present research interests lie in the history of terrorism, societal fear, intelligence and propaganda. He is also a specialist in the history of international humanitarian law and the Red Cross movement, in particular during its formative years (1860s-1914). Beyond his research endeavours, he is Co-Director of LJMU's Centre for Modern and Contemporary History and Postgraduate Coordinator for the School of Humanities and Social Science.James has recently completed his third book, 'The Rise of Devils: Fear and the Origins of Modern Terrorism' (Manchester University Press, 2023), which examines the development of international terrorism across the transatlantic world during the late nineteenth century.
