Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth Interview with Todd Bridges, Co-Star, “Diff'rent Strokes”, Author, “Killing Willis” About Harvey's guests: Today's guest, Todd Bridges, is an actor, director and producer who rose to international stardom as one of the most popular and beloved child stars of the 70s and 80s. He first captured our hearts as “Loomis” on the TV show “Fish”, and then as “Willis Jackson” on “Diff'rent Strokes”. He's also appeared in dozens of movies including “Thursday the 12th”, “The Sounds of Silence”, “Turning Point”, “Dead Ringer”, “Nightblade”, “Hospital Arrest”, “Hope for the Holidays”, “Cheer Bloody Murder” and many more. And on television, in addition to his iconic work on “Fish” and “Diff'rent Strokes”, he appeared in the groundbreaking miniseries “Roots”, as well as on “Little House on the Prairie”, “The Waltons”, “The Facts of Life”, “Circle of Pain”, “The Young and the Restless”, “Everybody Hates Chris”, and many more TV shows and movies. But behind that beautiful smile and charismatic talent as an actor, and enormous likeability, this is a man who has had to overcome a number of exceedingly difficult traumas and obstacles, including child abuse and betrayal of the worst kind, as well as police harassment, racism, wrongful prosecution, and vicious treatment by the tabloid press while he was struggling to overcome a very severe and debilitating substance abuse addiction. In 2010, he wrote a highly compelling, heart wrenching and unforgettable memoir entitled, “Killing Willis: From Diff'rent Strokes, to the Mean Streets, to the Life I Always Wanted”, in which he chronicles his tumultuous and gut-wrenching journey, from the heights of superstardom to the depths of despair, through his addiction, criminal court prosecutions and long road to rehab, recovery and healing, and to rebuilding the highly successful career and family life he is now enjoying and so richly deserves. Our guest has given so much back to the community. In 1992 he founded the Todd Bridges Youth Foundation, and in 2010 he became the official spokesperson for ICDC College's Alcohol and Drug Counselling Program. Through his work as an addiction counselor and founder of the Society for Ethical Addiction Treatment, he has helped thousands of people conquer their drug and alcohol addictions and live positive, constructive lives. And I can tell you, as a retired criminal court judge who knows only too well what this man has been through, it's truly an honor to have him here with us. On this show, our specialty is sequels, sequels, and more sequels. From the good ones, to the bad ones, to the really ugly ones, we'll be covering them all! We've got homicidal maniacs that won't stay in the grave, sci-fi epics whose stories cannot be told in a single tale, and much much more. For our 17th episode, we are covering a deep dive first ever PART THREE review from legendary producer Roger Corman with the science fiction action romp "CARNOSAUR 3: PRIMAL SPECIES." Starring Scott Valentine (Black Scorpion series, My Demon Lover, To Sleep With A Vampire and Family Ties) and directed by Jonathan Winfrey (Bloodfist 7, Black Scorpion 1 & 2, Excessive Force 2) so you just know it's a sequel in good standing. In this creatures run amok action adventure, that's part Jurassic Park, with a dash of Aliens, and a sprinkle of Predator for good measure; a group of terrorists get a big surprise when their cargo turns out to contain living dinosaurs. Join our host Cameron Scott (Parallels, Blood Moon River, Post Mortem America 2021) and returning guest co-host Scott Tepperman (Ghost Hunters International, Cruel Summer, Nightblade), for the first ever third chapter in a franchise review on Sequel Too, Deja Vu! "Well, if you pass out on me now, you're dead!"
Robert Eggers first two films have been stunning works - depending on who you ask. The Northman is easily his most accessible film to date, so why did people walk out of the showing Blake attended? Thematically, there is a direct line to The Witch and The Lighthouse. Both of those were polarizing films among audiences. Did Eggers not do enough to cater to mainstream audiences? This also leads to a question about his future. Whether a person likes his movie or not is subjective, but there is not doubting he is a talented director. Will he be doing larger pictures that are more in line with the general public's taste or will he continue developing his nihilistic view on storytelling? The Northman lives up to the promise of its trailer and delivers big action pieces. We talk about how well Eggers was able to move from slower more contemplative films to action adventure. Did the movie keep us engaged or was the pacing too slow for the story it was trying to tell? And it sure was nice of Bjork to use her own wardrobe for the movie. We also take a brief detour to talk about Alex Garland's new movie. Men looks to be employing deep fake technology in an unsettling trailer. As creepy as the trailer is, the red band version seems to give away too much of the plot. We also question why A24 only uses their cool logo designs for trailers.Adventures in Movies! is a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network. "Hello...Hello...We've got a message for you and you're not going to like it..." This is the final episode in what is a little over a month long celebration of the career of the one and only, John Carpenter. In this episode, we're bringing you a dissection of the 1987 horror/end of the world/religious thriller, "PRINCE OF DARKNESS". This classic contains the Carpenter superstar alumni of Donald Pleasance, Peter Jason, Dennis Dunn, and Victor Wong. Also, boasting a small supporting role by shock rocker ALICE COOPER! In this story, a group of college graduate students, scientists, and a very concerned priest discover a religious sect's secret in the form of an ancient cannister in the basement of an old church. The cannister swirls with a mysterious green liquid that just may be the most concentrated form of evil in all of history. Join regular host Cameron Scott and special guest host Scott Tepperman- director of such horror hits as "Hells Bells", "Nightblade", and "Truth Or Dare 5" and star of the hit show, "Ghost Hunters International". Join us! And remember: "Pray For Death."

Ah at last, High Fantasy Podcast is back! ✨ We were on vacation in Sri Lanka for a few weeks, getting lost in our own magical worlds...And now we are back with a delightful conversation with Ryan Kirk, the author of the well-loved NIGHTBLADE series. We chat about his latest books as well as his thoughts on writing and fantasy: how do you write stories in an expansive epic world? Is writing full-time really more productive than writing part-time? And how should authors go about making their fantasy "epic" - and should they be in the first place? We also of course got talking about Game of Thrones Season 8 as well, so tune in towards the end for our thoughts on that! This was a deep yet lighthearted conversation, and Morgan and I learned a lot! ✨ Hope you enjoy as well!Buy Ryan's books here: https://www.amazon.com/Ryan-Kirk~ABOUTJoin us, Morgan and Shalini, in our nerdy meditations on the most spellbinding and epic literary genre in the world, High Fantasy. Once again, we take the blog's title entirely too seriously and actually discuss (shudder) New Bloods and Bloodlines Parasites from the 1993 DC Comics Annuals theme event! Here's hoping that there's never another Green Lantern podcast on the feed or I'll have to give away that title. Anyhow, I've got a could of comics to cover this week, starting with Green Lantern #113, the first part of the "Burning in Effigy" story that introduces the Firestorm knockoff and Green Lantern foe, Effigy. Yes, we finally find out what happend when you give a hipster douchebag superpowers after a seesion of alien abduction and probing, and it doesn't turn him into a hero. Plus I'm covering the second annual for the Green Lantern books, and this will take you back to the halcyon days of the early 90's, where DC thought chasing the Image style would be the best...IDEA...EVER!!! As you will hear, this annual is part of the Bloodlines crossover that introduced the world to some of the greatest heroes every to be produced by DC, like...Nightblade. A kid who can throw knives really well. And can regrow limbs in a Guy Gardner Warrior fashion. ... ... ... Oh who am I kidding, it's all kind of a train wreck. But it's marginally more enjoyable than last annual due to the artwork by aforementioned Guy Gardner Warrior artists Mitch Byrd and Dan Davis. So, unless you want to be left atop the Space Needle while your jerkwhistle boyfriend plays super villain, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening!Feedback for this show can be sent to: justoneoftheguyspodcast@gmail.comJust One Of The Guys is a proud member of the Two True Freaks! If you are downloading the show through iTunes, be sure to leave a rating, hopefully a FIVE STAR RATING, because every rating we get helps grow the shows on the network! Thanks for listening, and be sure to come back next Friday for another episode of Just One Of The Guys: A Green Lantern Podcast.

Happy Friday everyone, and welcome to another stellar episode of Just One of the Guys, the John Snow of the Two True Freaks podcast network. Yeah, I've been catching up on Season Two of Game of Thrones, but that's for another show altogether. This show is all about relationships. Wait, wait...don't delete the show, I assure you, it's nothing like an episode of Oprah. Actually, in Green Lantern Kyle gets in trouble with Donna for sketching a member of his apartment. Granted, the sketchee is super hot model Allison, and she does happen to be nude, so there is that. But Marz writes the conflict between Donna and Kyle in such a manner that you can actually see both sides of the argument, unlike what Mark Millar did in Civil War. And over in Guy Gardner we get another meetup of the DCU over at the Warriors Bar as it's Christmas time and everyone is celebrating...even characters like Loose cannon and Nightblade...yeah, they're still around. Plus we get an emotional meeting between Guy and his deceased father courtesy of the Spectre and the Phantom Stranger. And all it took was a heaping plate of poutine...who knew? And to help celebrate these two fine issues, I've got my returning co-host, the ever amazing Thomas Deja, host of Better in the Dark and Damn Your Eyes, Damn You Ears to help me with the coping process. So unless you want to be seated with the Blood Pack when you get past the velevet ropes at Warriors, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening!Feedback for this show can be sent to: justoneoftheguyspodcast@gmail.comJust One Of The Guys is a proud member of the Two True Freaks!
