Acts 8 begins with the day of Stephen's death:    Then  +   Now - What we learn All things - work together for good (God used the persecution for His purpose in spreading the Gospel) We read in Acts 8:1 that starting that day (of Stephen's death) a massive persecution broke out against the believers in Jerusalem and especially against those like Stephen, Greek speakers, who were not native to Jerusalem. And the believers (except the apostles) fled throughout Judea and Samaria and still they talked about Jesus everywhere they went. Gospel Peace - that the message of Jesus changes people and brings divine peace between us and God. Philip and the Samaritans Acts 8:5-8. Philip proclaimed the Messiah in Samaria and when people heard him and saw the signs he performed, that paid close attention to what he said as he proclaimed the risen Savior to them. Spirit Guided - As followers of Jesus we cannot believe in Him without the Holy Spirit. And we are called to listen to the Holy Spirit, go where the Holy Spirit leads, and to keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit.  Philip and the Ethiopian Acts 8:26-27a. Philip is told by the Holy Spirit to take the road from Jerusalem to Gaza. He simply obeys God. So from Samaria he heads to that road. Prophetic Word has power.  When we share with others, Jesus story,  that story has power! To change people, to change lives! Philip meets an Ethiopian eunuch along the road. Acts 27a - 34.  This man worked for the Queen of the Ethiopians. The man was reading the Book of Isaiah while riding in his carriage on the way back to Ethiopia. Then the Holy Spirit told Philip to go to the carriage and stay near it.  He could hear the Ethiopian reading Isaiah.  Philip asks if the man understood what he was reading and is invited into the carriage to explain the verses. The verses were, verses 32-35: "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth."  These are verses all about Jesus' trial, crucifixion and death. And the man pleads with Philip to tell him who is being talked about. And Philip tells him all about Jesus the Messiah. Christ's witnesses - we are to be God's witnesses to the world as we fallow Him using the gifts He has given us.   Philip baptizes the Ethiopian Acts 8:36 -  40 we read that they came to some water and the Ethiopian says that nothing is standing in the way of him being baptized, because after hearing of Jesus, his life was changed. They stop the carriage and he is baptized. As they came up out of the water the Spirit suddenly took Philip away while the Ethiopian continued rejoicing in Jesus. Verse 40 tells us that Philip continued to preach the gospel in all the town along the way to Caesarea.    FLASHBACK to Acts 1:8 Jesus says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth." We see Jesus' words being fulfilled in Philip's story.   We to can be part of that story! Our testimonies can have a ripple effect in spreading the Good News of Jesus.    Set aside excuses and recommit to the Lord Jesus and the Father. Listen to the Holy Spirit and allow God to do amazing things with our lives for His kingdom. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 9th of July, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Deuteronomy 18:22: “when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”Folks, I really want to say to you this morning, and I know men who have got a prophetic ministry, and they are very accurate, and they love the Lord, and you can see it in their conduct. They are men that you can trust, but we must be very careful. The Lord is warning us this morning, not to be misled by a presumptuous prophetic word. I have heard of people who have sold their homes and immigrated to another country because they felt that a prophetic word was spoken over them, only to find when they got to the other side that they had listened to a man who was speaking presumptuously. It was not the word. We really need to test the spirit. That is why it is so important to let the Holy Spirit give you His peace. Now, we go to the Gospel of John 1:44-45. Now this is a prophetic word: “Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”Now that is a prophetic word you can believe. “We have found Him…” We need to use the Bible to confirm a prophetic word that has been spoken. If it is not in the Bible, I don't care who it is, you cannot believe it. It must be confirmed through the word of God, and that gives you security, that gives you peace, and that shows you the difference between a prophetic word and a false prophecy. If that word cannot be confirmed with God's Holy Word, do not listen or believe him. So I want to say to you today, don't be afraid, no, not at all. I have had many prophetic words spoken over my life and they have come to pass, but I have also had other words spoken over my life which I have cast aside because they are untrue and my spirit, the Spirit of God in me, does not witness with it. It is very, very important, especially for young people today.If God has not told you what to do, then don't do it. If God gives you a word, and then it is confirmed through somebody, sometimes a stranger, then you know it is not a coincidence, it is God. Have a wonderful day, Jesus bless you and goodbye.

Blaming Outer Sources: Pointing exclusively to parental failures, bad environments, or past enemies. Personal Ownership: Taking responsibility for personal choices, current language, and inner character. Restoration: Divine reconciliation of broken hearts, fractured homes, and stalled marriages. Managing the Symptoms: Seeking human programs or temporary coping mechanisms to dull behavioral sins. Holy Spirit Relationship: Submitting the inner man entirely to the active residence of God's Spirit. Fiery Bones: An unquenchable, internal fire that naturally burns away worldly addictions. Core Message: Your Turn to Cut Free Pastor Tim presents a direct diagnostic question to the modern church: How long will you remain paralyzed in a toxic condition before choosing to cut yourself loose? God has already positioned Himself as the unmovable Rock of Ages; the execution of the next move relies entirely on a willful choice to step out of the snare. "He doesn't set you free while you refuse to walk away from it... Today is the day that I get set free from this. Today is the day that I am going to walk free from this. Forgetting the past and pressing on toward the mark of the prize of the high calling." Scriptural Foundation Matthew 5:29-30: Christ's intense, hyperbolic command that if a right eye or right hand causes a stumble, it must be cast off entirely to save the whole person. Exodus 15:6 & Psalm 118:16: Biblical context displaying the "right hand" as the absolute representation of ultimate power and exalted strength. Romans 14:17: Definition of the true abundant life: "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." Habakkuk 3:19 & Philippians 3:13-14: The prophetic promise of receiving hinds' feet to confidently tread upon the high places by forgetting what lies behind. Prophetic Words and Action Steps During the altar call, a distinct prophetic word was delivered regarding breakthroughs over specific mountains and personal adjustments: Own Your Vocabulary: Shift your inner narrative immediately. Cease grumbling, crying, and whispering behind the bushes; raise your hands high and speak life over the spaces where you previously felt robbed. Expect Turning Points: Trust that the adjustments occurring behind the scenes will cause demonic warfare to slide off the mountain. What the enemy manufactured for absolute destruction, God is twisting for your ultimate good. Commit to Wednesday Table Fellowship: Pastor Rhonda Davis emphasized that deeper theological instruction and spiritual stabilization take place around the tables on Wednesday nights. The Lord has promised to restore the years the locusts and worms have stolen, but we must pursue from now until Pentecost (May 21).  On today's podcast, we revisit the word for 2026, where the Lord is restoring years of promises made.  Listen in and pursue!!!

How do you know if a prophetic word is truly from God? 2 Peter 1:21 reminds us that prophecy comes from the Holy Spirit—not human will—which means it must be tested, discerned, and handled with humility. While spiritual gifts like prophecy can be powerful and encouraging, they also require wisdom. Not every impression is perfectly interpreted, and not every word is immediately understood. That’s why Scripture calls us to weigh prophetic words carefully. Sometimes God reveals only a small piece of a bigger picture, and our role is not just to receive or deliver a word, but to discern it in community and align it with God’s truth. When approached with humility, patience, and accountability, prophecy becomes a tool that builds up the church, strengthens faith, and deepens our relationship with God. Full Transcript Below: Test Prophetic Words CarefullyBy: Michelle Lazurek Bible Reading:“For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as the Holy Spirit carried them along.” - 2 Peter 1:21 During a recent retreat for mothers and daughters to connect, learn about God's attributes, and hear his voice, we had a time of prayer in which we blessed the mothers and daughters and commissioned them to go out and spread the gospel. At one point during prayer, the mother and daughter sat before me. Placing my hand on her left shoulder, I immediately got a word for the daughter. It was a picture of a violin. I had no other words or explanation as to its meaning. I told her that I didn't understand what the picture was, but that it had appeared. After everyone had prayed, I went to get a tissue for the mother and daughter. Upon my return, the daughter explained that she had played violin but then stopped. We laughed because we realized that that was what the Holy Spirit was saying. He was telling her to pick up her violin and make music for him. In the church body, we are wired with spiritual gifts. Some of those gifts are considered miraculous gifts, including the gift of prophecy. Prophecy is a message delivered to someone by God. Although it is exciting to deliver a prophetic word to another person, we often misinterpret it. This is where errors and other issues become a problem. Although we are quick to call someone a false prophet simply because they made an error in delivering their message, that doesn't mean the message itself was wrong. It simply means the person delivering it misinterpreted it. The difficult part of prophecy is that we only get small snippets of a bigger picture. When I got that picture of the violin, I had no idea the daughter had played the violin before. Whether he wants her to resume playing the violin remains to be seen. However, he clearly had a message for her regarding her music with that instrument. If a person does not know how to interpret prophetic words for their lives, they can often be dismissed or ignored completely. Scripture tells us to test prophecy and to allow two or three people to weigh what is being said. Although those kinds of things can get tricky at times because many people are not trained in the prophetic, it is important that, even in community, we explore the miraculous gifts together. The above verse tells us that prophecy comes from the Holy Spirit, not from human will. However, because we have difficulty distinguishing between our own human emotions, thought processes, and prophecy, it can be difficult to discern whether a word is truly from God. However, that does not mean you should not deliver a word. Rather, it is important to test that word with two or three people who have discernment or wisdom to be able to know whether that word is truly from God or not. It is also important for an individual to test and weigh that word for themselves. Because prophecy is not often practiced in churches today, it is difficult for people to interpret prophetic words or to wait for them to come to fruition. In Scripture, people gave prophetic words that didn't come to pass until generations later. In our instant-gratification world, we want prophetic words to come to pass now. If they don't come to pass, we assume that means they are untrue. However, that's a misinterpretation of scripture. Receiving and giving prophetic words can be an exciting spiritual experience for any person. It is part of a person's spiritual growth and can completely transform them, helping them go deeper in their relationship with the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you words to edify your brothers and sisters in Christ. You (and your church) will be better for it. Father, let us be people who do not treat prophecy with contempt. Rather, let us weigh the words that we receive and deliver them accordingly. Let us, in humility, help discern and dissect prophetic words together. ALEX JONES IGNORES "BATTLE AXE" WORD FROM PASTOR JAMES WILLIAMS AND VEHEMENTLY REPUDIATES TRUMP, INSISTS ON 25TH AMENDMENT REMOVAL ALEX JONES is now buoyed by the Left and is openly trying to destroy Donald J. Trump's life and presidency, even after a CONFIRMED prophetic word was given to him live on air. I.e. Trump is the ultimate battle axe of God, and we, (AJ and all Christians) are battle axes too. He also mentioned that when the leader (in this case Trump) goes off the rails it's up to us to pray and help the leader out by confronting the issues. Alex took the “miracle” to mean himself as the focus and refused healing the breach with Trump, who eventually responded via Truth Social. He later went on an anti-Trump rant that reminded me of Sean Penn's rant on Joe Rogan's podcast and seeks the 25th amendment to get rid of Trump, who is not fit in Alex's view to be president. I don't want to make this into an Alex Jones-only podcast, but the fact that Alex influences millions of people is the issue. Alex also claims he is stronger now than ever, so rejecting Trump, he infers, is good for business. True, the Left will spend millions promoting Alex's new anti-Trump rants. All of this is very traumatic for me personally as I kind of had a laissez faire relationship with the Internet and Trump. At peace mostly. But after listening to the latest pod, I feel sick. Very disappointed about the midterms and the future. Back to Covid 2.0 and lockdowns! BACK TO PRAYER. GOD IS IN CONTROL, so we can be at peace after all. This is epic though.
