So after watching Guy Ritchie's FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH, the Film School Janitors decided to go back a couple films in his oeuvre to watch OPERATION FORTUNE: RUSE DE GUERRE! Have you heard of it? Maybe not! Is it similar to a specific Nicolas Cage film? Maybe not! What's it about? A group of spies use a movie star to infiltrate an arms dealer's world to recover a MacGuffin. Listen to the Janitors explain it all!
Destroy All Movies S2E8 - Fountain Of YouthThis Richie is back...thank goodness. Thiw week we join John Krasinski and Natalie Portman in the search for the Fountain of Youth. Is this Appletv+ original just a crappy Indiana Jones ripoff, or did it turn out to be a good movie? What do you think...destroymail@gmail.comDAMSHOW.CO
Story at-a-glance A single protein called klotho extended healthy mice lifespan by 20%, while improving muscle strength, bone density and cognitive function across multiple body systems Klotho functions as a "longevity switch" that naturally declines with age; it's influenced by lifestyle choices rather than just chronological aging Regular moderate exercise, whole-food diets rich in antioxidants and adequate vitamin D significantly boost klotho levels, while overtraining reverses these benefits Poor sleep, chronic stress, loneliness and habits like smoking all decrease klotho production, accelerating the aging process and increasing disease risk Scientists are exploring klotho as a biomarker for healthy aging, as low levels correlate with greater risk of cognitive decline, frailty and early mortality
No, Apple isn't releasing some new product called iFountain, but Apple TV+ (don't forget that plus!) did release Guy Ritchie's newest film. FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH. It stars Jim from "The Office" and Queen Amidala as siblings whose father was basically Indiana Jones, and don't worry, it's not anywhere near the best or the worst of that series. Listen to the Film School Janitors as they "dig" in (archaeology joke). Enjoy!

Sure this sounds like it's coming direct from scripture (it is), as these are some of the exact healing miracles Jesus himself is renowned performed. What we can tell you is there's more...MUCH more...in this episode. Further, there's not a single invasive technology required for these miracles you'll see and hear discussed. In fact, this is water derived straight from the book of Genesis, here to heal God's children...already, 8 clinical studies have been completed to prove 100% of the people have astounding results. (Even better - big Pharma can't touch it, plus it's even blessed by RFK Jr's MAHA). This show is nothing short of spectacular.

Can anyone truly outrun time itself, and what dark bargains might immortality demand? In "Long Live Walter Jameson," a history professor's uncanny knowledge of historical events draws suspicion from his colleague. The truth reveals he's actually centuries old, having gained immortality through an alchemist's intervention. His past catches up with him when an aged former wife discovers his engagement to a young student, leading to his dramatic aging and death. "Queen of the Nile" follows a reporter investigating an ageless actress who mysteriously maintains her youth. He discovers she's actually an ancient Egyptian queen who uses a scarab to drain others' life forces to maintain her immortality. The reporter becomes her latest victim in her endless quest for eternal youth. This month these episodes lead us to explore the price of immortality and the moral consequences of achieving eternal life through supernatural means as they share themes of time, aging, and the ultimate price paid for attempting to cheat death. Send us a textAdventure films are a delicate balance of charm, wonder, and heart—which is why "Fountain of Youth" is such a fascinating disappointment to dissect. What should have been a thrilling revival of a beloved genre instead becomes a masterclass in missed opportunities. The frustration comes not from the film being terrible (we've seen worse), but from how tantalizingly close it comes to greatness before veering off course. With John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, and stunning locations around the world, all the ingredients were there. Yet something vital is missing: soul.Great adventure protagonists care deeply about something—Indiana Jones respects artifacts even while stealing them, Benjamin Gates in National Treasure risks everything to protect historical treasures while pursuing them. Krasinski's Luke, by contrast, moves through the story with curious detachment, displaying impressive combat skills without explanation and making quips that never land with the intended charm. The supporting cast fares no better, with potentially interesting characters reduced to exposition machines. The chemistry between leads is nonexistent despite the script insisting otherwise. Even the central mystery—the Fountain of Youth itself—operates on confusing, inconsistent rules that change to serve the plot rather than create a coherent mythology. What makes this analysis worthwhile is recognizing how "Fountain of Youth" illuminates exactly what makes adventure films work by doing the opposite. It's a reminder that spectacle without heart falls flat, that heroes need vulnerability alongside capability, and that audiences want to feel wonder alongside the characters discovering ancient secrets. If you love adventure cinema and want to understand why some attempts work brilliantly while others fail, join us for this deep dive into a film that might just kill the genre it hoped to revitalize. In episode 212 of Growing Older Living Younger, Dr. Gillian Lockitch welcomes Dr. Julian Gershon Jr., a triple board-certified physician in family medicine, sports medicine, and anti-aging and regenerative medicine. Dr. Gershon is the author of Beyond the Fountain of Youth, a compelling guide to optimizing vitality, preventing age-related decline, and redefining what it means to grow older. Drawing on over two decades of clinical experience and personal practice, Dr. Gershon shares how his own transformation as an aging athlete led him into the field of regenerative medicine. Together, he and Dr. Lockitch explore powerful, science-backed strategies that can enhance both lifespan and healthspan—the years we live well. From hormone optimization to peptide therapies and red light treatments, Dr. Gershon explains how these tools support cellular health, fight inflammation, and reverse the effects of environmental toxins. He addresses common myths about hormone replacement, especially in women with a history of hormone-sensitive cancers, and explains the critical differences between synthetic and natural hormone therapies. This episode also dives into emerging regenerative solutions like peptides (BPC-157, AOD-9604, and more), red light therapy for pain and skin rejuvenation, and the foundational role of nutrition and micronutrient support. Aligning with the Growing Older Living Younger concept, Dr. Gershon emphasizes that many symptoms of “normal aging” are in fact avoidable and often reversible—if we are willing to become proactive students of our own biology.Listeners will also appreciate the discussion on the importance of mindset, self-talk, and spiritual and emotional resilience in aging well. Dr. Gershon and Dr. Lockitch share their personal insights on living with purpose, managing stress, and embracing daily rituals that uplift the body and the mind. Whether you're in your 40s or your 80s, this conversation is packed with actionable insights and empowering wisdom to help you live younger, longer. Discover how regenerative medicine, lifestyle changes, and belief in your body's potential can transform the way you age. It's just Kevin and Lauren this week... until it isn't... and then it is again. There's a lot to talk about, with The Outsiders the Musical, The Last of Us Season 2 Finale, Bad Shabbos, The Fountain of Youth, and The Last Showgirl. Lauren kicks off the show by talk about The Outsiders, last years Tony Award winner for best musical. If you recognize the name, it is in fact the same as the '80s Brat Pack film. While that might sounds like it shouldn't work, it absolutely does. With a great set design and score, the show really is spectacular. As Lauren was discussing that show, Andrew (who had already told everyone he had better things to do than waste his evening with them, mind you) popped in. This gave him and Kevin the chance to talk about the last 2 episodes of The Last of Us Season 2. The agreement is that episode 6 was spectacular and the finale was solid and Andrew, with a little time to ruminate, has found himself understanding Abby's story and Ellie's shortcomings a little more than before. All in all it's a great finish and cliffhanger for a solid season. After Andrew exits only slightly less unceremoniously than he arrived, Lauren talks about the indy film, Bad Shobbos. It's a low budget comedy with a cast of actors you'd recognize but most likely can't name beyond Kira Sedgwick, but it's wonderfully done and a great time. It's a movie that reminds us to look beyond the name on the poster and see what's really being put on the screen and most definitely worth a watch. Next up, Kevin talks about The Fountain of Youth, which is almost the exact opposite situation as Bad Shobbos. Here you have a stellar cast with John Krazinzky, Ntalie Portman, Stanley Tucci, Eiza Gonzalez, and more. Not only that, it's a big budget adventure film. But with all of that, it lacks the heart that something small and special like Bad Shobbos has, proving the point again, it's not the names on the poster, but what's been put to film. Lauren closes the show with The Last Showgirl. This one stirred up a lot of Award Season buzz last year with the resurgence of Pamela Anderson. It gets Kevin and Lauren talking about aging and beauty standards in Hollywood and how they are so often hypocritical. All that aside, it's a great movie and it has a quick runtime, so if you see it streaming, definitely give it a go! As always, thank you for watching. What if you truly discovered the secret to eternal life—would you keep it quiet? In this powerful episode called Finding the Fountain of Youth, Bible teacher Stephen Davey challenges you to consider whether you're living like someone who's found everlasting life. Drawing from personal stories, Scripture, and vivid imagery, this lesson reveals that the gospel is the only true source of vitality and hope. But it's not something to hide. It's something to share. Stephen paints a compelling picture: Imagine discovering a spring that reverses aging and heals disease. You wouldn't bury it—you'd tell everyone. Yet that's what many Christians do with the gospel. You'll be reminded of Andrew bringing Peter to Jesus, and of D. L. Moody's bold passion to reach the lost. You'll hear how real transformation—eternal and complete—comes only through Christ. If you've ever wondered whether your faith should be more public… If you've been looking for renewed purpose in your Christian walk… This episode will stir your heart to action. Don't just sip from the fountain—share it.
