And here we have another edition of Dead Man Still Walking, *the* Zombie Movie Podcast starring Dr. Walking Dead himself, the distinguished Dr. Kyle Bishop! For this embalmed but exhumed excursion into the murkiest depths of zombie cinema, the good doctor welcomes first-time DMSW guest Mister Watson — a man whose exceptional movie picks have earned him praise from Jay of the Dead. Naturally, Dr. Bishop rewards Watson's exemplary taste by subjecting him to a movie widely considered to be "one of the worst zombie movies ever made": Zombie Lake (1981). Set in a French village roughly 10 years after World War II, "Zombie Lake" concerns a squad of slain German soldiers whose bodies were dumped into a mysterious lake — only for the waterlogged Nazis to rise again and terrorize the townspeople. Also in Episode 187, Dr. Walking Dead and Mister Watson discuss the film's painfully poor makeup, historically questionable uniforms, gratuitous Euro-sleaze, interminable flashback and truly baffling zombie behavior. Are these creatures flesh-eating zombies, blood-drinking vampires or merely undead horndogs with an irresistible attraction to skinny-dippers? And yet, buried beneath the green face paint and woeful execution, our reviewers discover the remains of a potentially compelling movie. The mythology of a lake that demands human sacrifices, a forbidden wartime romance, a zombie father who remembers and protects his daughter, and a community haunted by the consequences of its past all suggest that "Zombie Lake" might deserve that rarest of cinematic opportunities: a remake of a bad movie. Join Dr. Bishop and Mister Watson as they attempt to find intelligent thematic possibilities in a film that stubbornly refuses to contain them! "(26:32)" - Still Walking (keuzefilm Hedwig) "(39:34)" - I Wish (keuzefilm Ruud) "(56:24)" - Afronding en aankondiging volgende aflevering Feedback? Walking is something most of us do every day without thinking, but the way you move may reveal far more about your health than you realize. In this episode of The MOVEMENT Movement, Steven Sashen speaks with Courtney Conley, DC, Founder and CEO of Gait Happens, who explains how walking speed, sensory input, foot strength, mobility, and the big toe can affect balance, efficiency, pain, and healthy aging. Courtney also shares practical ways to improve walking, including gradually spending more time barefoot, choosing footwear that respects the foot's natural anatomy, strengthening the feet, and using simple cues to walk taller, faster, and softer. Key Takeaways:→ Walking speed is considered an important health indicator and may provide clues about future physical and neurological decline. → Brisk, intentional walking can be more efficient than the slow, guarded gait people often adopt when in pain.→ Walking taller, faster, and more softly can help reduce overstriding and promote a smoother gait. → Healthy walking depends on foot strength, mobility, balance, and the feet's ability to interact naturally with the ground. → Difficulty walking barefoot may reflect a deconditioned foot rather than proof that the foot permanently needs external support.  Dr. Courtney Conley is a nationally bestselling author, an international educator, and a leading authority on foot and gait health. She is the founder of Gait Happens, a global education company that helps people restore foot function through science-backed training, professional education, and personalized care.  With nearly 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Conley has worked with professional athletes from organizations such as the Phoenix Suns, New York Yankees, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers. She also serves as Head of Patient Care at Total Health Solutions and Total Health Performance in Lakewood, Colorado.   Her book, Walk, became a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. Dr. Conley has appeared on The Peter Attia Drive, Diary of a CEO, CBS Mornings, and Fox & Friends, where she shares her belief that strength, mobility, and long-term health begin from the ground up.   Connect With Courtney: Website: https://gaithappens.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gaithappens/ https://www.instagram.com/drcourtneyconley/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gaithappens/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/drcourtneyconley/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/gait-happens/   Connect with Steven: Xero Shoes: https://xeroshoes.com/ Join the MOVEMENT Movement: https://jointhemovementmovement.com/ X: https://x.com/XeroShoes Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/xeroshoes/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/xeroshoes

Jay of the Dead's New Horror Movies presents the 63rd edition of Dead Man Still Walking, your favorite Zombie Movie Podcast hosted by Dr. Walking Dead Kyle William Bishop! This time, the good doctor returns to an older corner of zombie cinema with Umberto Lenzi's strange and unconventional Italian horror film "Nightmare City" (1980), a movie whose director apparently insisted was not a zombie movie, despite Dr. Bishop arriving at a very different diagnosis. And of course, as for me and my house, we will be believing Dr. Bishop's assessment. The infected creatures of "Nightmare City" are unlike your average shambling undead: They use knives, clubs, guns and even a harpoon gun; they appear capable of planning and communicating nonverbally; and instead of merely eating flesh, they sometimes stop to drink their victims' blood. That leaves Dr. Walking Dead pondering an especially unusual case of cinematic zombiism: Are these monsters zombies, infected humans, vampires or some bizarre hybrid of all three? Kyle examines the monsters' apparent resistance to gunfire, vulnerability to brain trauma and ambiguous method of spreading their condition while arguing that, regardless of Lenzi's objections, "Nightmare City" belongs in the zombie movie conversation. Dr. Bishop also places the film firmly within the post-Romero zombie boom, noting its conspicuous similarities to "Night of the Living Dead," "Dawn of the Dead" and the Italian zombie films that followed in Romero's wake. Kyle discusses the Dawn-like music, helicopter imagery, siege elements, Molotov cocktails and the movie's heavy-handed warning about nuclear power and radiation. Along the way, Dr. Walking Dead praises the score, questions the inconsistent gore effects, calls out some dated and misogynistic character behavior and identifies "Nightmare City" as the sort of cinematic oddity that may be worth seeing precisely because it is so strange. And then there is that ending. In a spoiler section, Dr. Walking Dead tackles the film's infamous last-minute narrative reset, recycled opening footage and "the nightmare becomes reality" conclusion — a twist that inspires considerably more frustration than admiration. Even so, the unusual zombie-vampire creatures and the movie's place within the history of Italian zombie cinema earn it a Low-Priority Rental recommendation rather than an outright Avoid. Jay of the Dead's New Horror Movies presents the 62nd edition of Dead Man Still Walking, the Zombie Movie Podcast hosted by Dr. Walking Dead himself, Dr. Kyle Bishop! This episode offers a cinematic zombie twofer, beginning with Christopher Landon's irreverent teen comedy, "Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse" (2015), followed by the main event: Destry Allyn Spielberg's dystopian Gothic thriller, "Please Don't Feed the Children" (2025). First, Dr. Bishop briefly ventures into the realm of gross-out humor, zombie strippers and scouting skills put to apocalyptic use. Although the film offers a surprisingly earnest message about friendship, loyalty, and resisting peer pressure, Kyle finds its juvenile sex jokes, scatological comedy and deliberately ridiculous zombies considerably less rewarding. There is, however, some praise for David Koechner's performance. Then, Dr. Walking Dead turns his attention to "Please Don't Feed the Children," a slow-burning post-apocalyptic thriller in which young people are immune to a mysterious viral outbreak but are persecuted as suspected carriers. A group of fugitive teenagers takes refuge in an isolated farmhouse owned by the seemingly compassionate Clara, played by Michelle Dockery. Naturally, the safety of the house proves deceptive, and the movie's cleverly misleading title takes on a much darker meaning. Dr. Kyle Bishop examines the film as a COVID-inspired narrative about disease, social paranoia, generational conflict and the dangerous rumors that accompany public-health crises. He also considers its Gothic atmosphere, solitary zombie, exploration of motherhood and obsessive love, as well as its depiction of the "monstrous mother." And what exactly is "Biddy Horror"—and how does it differ from Hagsploitation? Join the good doctor for a smart, spoiler-filled discussion of zombies, secrets, family, life, death and the unfortunate consequences of keeping an infected loved one locked in the basement. Note: This episode contains major plot spoilers for both films, particularly "Please Don't Feed the Children." It's time for your favorite Zombie Movie Podcast brought to you by Jay of the Dead's New Horror Movies, which is here to present another fascinating edition of Dead Man Still Walking with Dr. Walking Dead Kyle Bishop! This time, Dr. Bishop journeys back to 1974 for a double-feature exploration of two very different zombie films: Dead of Night (also known as "Deathdream") and Sugar Hill. One is a somber, politically charged meditation on the lingering trauma of the Vietnam War, while the other is a colorful blend of Blaxploitation cinema, voodoo lore, revenge storytelling, and classic raised-dead zombies. In this episode, Kyle examines how Dead of Night uses zombiism as a powerful metaphor for veterans struggling to return home after war, creating one of the most emotionally devastating zombie narratives of the 1970s. He also discusses Sugar Hill as a noteworthy revival of the voodoo zombie tradition, connecting it to earlier zombie cinema while highlighting its campy entertainment value, memorable Baron Samedi character, and undead revenge squad. Along the way, Dr. Walking Dead reflects on the evolution of zombie films during the years between Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, offering historical context for this episode's two overlooked entries in zombie movie history. It's alive! Your favorite Zombie Movie Podcast shambles back into your ears once again — Dead Man Still Walking, starring the ever-insightful (and occasionally curmudgeonly) Dr. Walking Dead himself, Kyle William Bishop! In this episode, the good doctor is joined by none other than special guest Jay of the Dead for a thoughtful — and at times boisterous — discussion of "Weapons" (2025). In this edition, Dr. Bishop digs into a provocative question: Is Weapons actually more of a "true" zombie film than even the works of George A. Romero? It's a bold claim, and one that sparks plenty of analysis about what really defines a zombie narrative, beyond just shambling corpses and apocalyptic backdrops. That said, it's not all praise. Dr. Bishop shares some pointed gripes, chief among them his distaste for the film's title, "Weapons," which he argues undersells the thematic depth and complexity of the story. But where the film truly wins him over is in its non-linear narrative structure, a storytelling approach he absolutely loves and champions throughout the episode. Meanwhile, Jay of the Dead brings his own observations to the table, noting how the characters in Weapons are united by a pervasive and unsettling theme: powerlessness. Whether facing societal collapse, personal limitations, or existential dread, the film's characters struggle against forces far beyond their control — a hallmark, perhaps, of the most effective zombie storytelling. Join Dr. Bishop and Jay of the Dead for another unforgettable trek into the undead. Notes: This episode contains major plot spoilers for Weapons, so proceed with caution if you haven't seen it yet! It's time for your favorite Zombie Movie Podcast, better known as Dead Man Still Walking — typically a solocast starring the inimitable Dr. Walking Dead Kyle Bishop! During this 59th edition of DMSW, Dr. Bishop is recording from inside a tent (in the late summer of 2025), participating in Girls' Camp! Hey, even if he's not the fastest or cleverest girl at Girls' Camp, he's always the prettiest! Nah, our dear professor is just a great dad and a salt-of-the-Earth individual who selflessly volunteers to chaperone and volunteer as "Bear Bait," in case the young teens are attacked in the wilderness of Utah. Kyle is so cool, he essentially recreates a "Dead Serious Horror Challenge" from the old HMP days and watches scary movies at night in his tent, movies that also occur out in the wilderness. Anywho, here in Dead Man Still Walking, Dr. Kyle William Bishop reviews a Netflix Original, Action Martial Arts / Science Fiction / Zombie flick from Thailand called Ziam (2025) — as in "Zombie Siam" or "Ziam." But using his technical definition, Dr. Bishop would not call "Ziam" much of a Horror movie, despite its zombie monsters because it has hardly any suspense or tension. It is mostly Action (with an empowered protagonist), which is not conducive to promoting fear within viewers. Even so, it's fun to hear Dr. Bishop talk about watching this film during his camping adventures. Listen! Note: This episode was recorded in August 2025. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Some psychics are drawn to haunted places. But Amy Raudabaugh walked into the Samuel Miller Mansion and felt something far stranger—the house was drawn to her. Built in 1804, the mansion has worn many identities over the centuries, yet its deepest stories remain undocumented, hidden beneath layers of dust, renovations, and silence. When Amy stepped inside for the first time, the atmosphere shifted. The rooms felt watchful. The energy felt expectant. And Amy—who has spent years navigating the spirit world—immediately knew the spirits inside had been waiting for someone who could finally hear them. Psychic medium Amy Raudabaugh joins us to share what the mansion revealed: the voices that rose from forgotten corners, the shadows that moved with purpose, and the strange sense that the past wasn't willing to stay buried. Jay of the Dead'sNew Horror Movies presents… the 55th Edition of the world's greatest Zombie Movie Podcast — Dead Man Still Walking, starring Dr. Walking Dead Kyle Bishop! In this fascinating and unexpectedly subversive episode, Dr. Bishop welcomes special guest Jay of the Dead to explore the surprising horror history of “The Purple Smurfs” (yes, those Smurfs!) and their uncanny place in zombie canon. This is a must-listen for fans of zombie cinema. Likely inspired somewhat by Richard Matheson's novel, “I Am Legend” (1954) — yet before George Romero's shambling ghouls — there existed a little-known, infected-zombie narrative within the Belgian comic, Les Schtroumpfs Noirs (“The Black Smurfs”) from 1959, later wisely adapted for American audiences in 1963 as “The Purple Smurfs.” What seems like a simple children's story reveals shocking thematic roots in infection, rage, and apocalypse, complete with an urgent race to find a cure. Dr. Bishop herein declares, “Yes, the Purple Smurfs are zombies.” Also during Episode 166 here, Jay and Kyle dive deep into both the original comic source material and the adapted, 1981 TV episode — part of a Halloween special featuring “The Haunted Smurf” as well as “The Purple Smurfs” — unpacking how the latter's infection narrative even precedes films like “The Crazies” (1973), “Rabid” (1977), and “28 Days Later” (2002). They discuss the sociocultural implications, from 1980s “Satanic Panic” anxieties to the comic's troubling racial undertones in its early form. Jay playfully speculates whether the story serves as a bizarre, STD cautionary tale — and even debuts his first-ever Horror trailer for The Purple Smurfs (1981) TV episode! As for Dr. Bishop's favorite color? You just might find the answer buried somewhere in this delightfully twisted episode of Dead Man Still Walking. Gnap! Gnap! Welcome to your favorite Zombie Movie Podcast — Dead Man Still Walking. In this 53rd edition of DMSW, host Dr. Walking Dead (Kyle William Bishop) welcomes special guest Jay of the Dead for a Take 2, spoiler-filled conversation about Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later (2025), the long-awaited third installment in the iconic, infected zombie film franchise. Both Kyle and Jay express their love for 28 Days Later (2002) and 28 Weeks Later, setting the stage for a comparison and assessment of this latest entry. Dr. Bishop offers analytical insights while fielding Jay's many questions about the new film. In fact, Kyle addresses the oft-asked question of why there was never a “28 Months Later,” providing context and spawning speculation about sequels and even unlikely prequel concepts. As with most zombie-related conversations, this discussion includes the legacy of George A. Romero, whom Kyle credits as the grandfather of both the re-animated dead and the infected zombie sub-genres. Together, Kyle and Jay explore the mysteries of zombie evolution over nearly three decades, while including — of course — a chat about the anatomical and gestational nuances of these infected beings. This show proudly constitutes Episode 153 of Jay of the Dead'sNew Horror Movies, and is an essential listen for fans of zombie cinema, combining scholarly insight with genuine fandom, as well as a loving critique of Boyle and Garland's infected hellscape as we return to it 23 years later. When a man working security in a Yorkshire timber yard begins receiving nightly alarm calls from police, it seems like a simple case of faulty wiring—or maybe a draft blowing open the accountant's office door. But soon, even police dogs refuse to enter the room. Workers begin hearing phantom parties in empty buildings. And one night, three boys—including the storyteller—watch a bright, full-color man with ginger hair walk straight through a wall. That same apparition returns two months later… this time passing just inches from the boy's father inside the building, refusing to speak, refusing to stop. Only walking—and vanishing.  If you have a real ghost story or supernatural event to report, please write into our show at http://www.realghoststoriesonline.com/ or call 1-855-853-4802!

OK, “Gentle Listeners,” Dr. Walking Dead has shown up for work for us with this week's special double-feature show. In this 49th Edition of DEAD MAN STILL WALKING, your intrepid professor, Dr. Walking Dead Kyle Bishop, graciously took at least one cinematic bullet for the listeners, metaphorically speaking… The two movies that Dr. Bishop examines during this episode include the 1970s odd couple of double features, I Drink Your Blood (1971) and I Eat Your Skin (1971) — the latter, a G-rated, black-and-white movie that was actually produced in 1964. Dr. Bishop brings his usual astute analysis to these proceedings, informing us of actual onscreen murder of an animal, and therefore, which instance(s) of blood in the film is real blood. And speaking of blood, we learn about meat pies being injected with infected, rabid dog blood, thereby constituting a very early example of “the infected zombie” narrative. And Kyle even goes so far as to tell us about a Horror movie where the evil characters “treat people poorly.” And that's only his notes on the first film! Wait until you hear what he has to say about the second! Join us! Note: To view ALL of Dr. Bishop's Dead Man Still Walking solocast episodes can USE THIS LINK. And then just a couple of weeks later, the airline was in for a rude shock when a survey by a German consumer-rights group ranked it among the worst 10 airlines in the world. Indigo, of course, refuted the findings of the survey and cast doubts on the credibility of the agency that released it.Monthly data from aviation regulator DGCA had scored Indigo high on punctuality and low on customer-complaint ratios, and it was a big deal “for an airline of its size and scale of operations”.But you see, that is exactly where the problem lies—size and scale.Tune in!Daybreak is produced from the newsroom of The Ken, India's first subscriber-only business news platform.
