Most people date the wrong way. They chase the spark, mistake attraction for compatibility, and expect their partners to read their minds. Then they wonder why relationships don't last. Logan Ury thinks about dating differently. As the Director of Relationship Science at Hinge, she's spent years studying what actually makes relationships work. Her findings will change the way you think about attraction, communication, and commitment. In this conversation, Logan reveals why the spark is overrated, how to optimize your dating profile, and the one thing (actually, 8) you must do after every first date. We break down attachment theory, orbiting, polyamory, and having hard conversations in a healthy way. We get answers to questions like: "what's an appropriate age gap?" and "what to say if you're not interested after a date?" Plus, Logan shares how she made the decision to be with her husband and the importance of “other significant others.”      If you want to stop wasting time on the wrong people and start building something real, this episode is for you.   (2:49) First Dates and the Slow Burn (8:07) The Post-Date 8 (14:30) Dating Like a Scientist (15:50) The Height thing... Then subscribe to our channel https://www.youtube.com/@TheSilverScreenDudes?sub_confirmation=1In this review, I dive into the intense survival horror vibes, eerie 28 Days Later-style atmosphere, and mind-bending dual timelines that make this film stand out.►Love my movie content? Consider supporting me for as little as £2!buymeacoffee.com/moviedudesStarring Douglas Smith and Carrie-Anne Moss, Die Alone follows Ethan, a man who wakes up from a car accident with amnesia—only to find the world has completely changed. As he pieces together the truth, the movie cleverly plays with time, weaving a mystery that keeps you guessing—until it doesn't. With influences from The Last of Us and Memento, the film attempts something fresh in the zombie genre. But does it succeed?I break down the direction, pacing issues, and that so-called “plot twist” that you'll probably see coming. Plus, we discuss the unique creature design—think zombies meet Lord of the Rings' Ents—and whether the movie's slower pacing works to its advantage or not.

Next is ESCAPE FROM THE 21st CENTURY (Signature Entertainment) - a mind-melting visual experience in which three teen friends find they can jump forward into their adult bodies, 20 years in the future! DIE ALONE (Lightbulb Film Distribution) is a post-apocalyptic thriller in which a man with amnesia tries to search for his missing girlfriend... BANGKOK DOG (High Fliers) is another pairing of D.Y. Sao and Brian Le, who appeared together in Shadow Master. This is a more conventional martial arts thriller and proof that these guys are top of their game. APPLEWOOD sticks out from the pack as the only non-action movie of the week: This is a more low key, supernatural tale about a  recently widowed woman buying a notorious mansion and needing to get to grips with its dramatic history.   Our Short Shot is from the Kirby Brothers (k & K Productions), who helmed the excellent Accident Man 2: Hitman's Holiday, and some other shorts we've enjoyed. Welcome to Season 4, Episode 43! Today's guest is Jaylee Hamidi who is best known for their acting, but is also both a writer and painter. Jaylee was born in Shanghai, China, but moved to Canada and now lives in Vancouver. They are a queer, gender-fluid, Chinese-Kurdish-Iranian creative professional.  They currently can be seen in their breakout recurring role as Allie in the Hulu, ABC Onyx show “How to Die Alone”, created and lead by actress Natasha. We love how Jaylee plays the character of Allie with candor and wisdom. In scenes with the main character Mel, they bond over the fact that they're on similar life paths of falling in love with their whole selves and not settling for anything or anyone less.  In this episode's conversation, we talk about representation, Jaylee's writing, their paintings, building chemistry in acting, their hopes for future storylines on Allie, and so much more. Enjoy the conversation! Quick note: Due to some technical difficulties during the recording of the conversation, the audio cut out on a few of Jaylee's responses. We apologize for any confusion that may result from this. If you like what we do, please share, follow, and like us in your podcast directory of choice or on Instagram @AAHistory101. Many of us fell in love with Natasha Rothwell through her role as the hilarious Kelli in HBO's Insecure, and later sustained that love as she appeared as Belinda Lindsey in The White Lotus. Natasha is back on our screens, and this time, she's starring in a show that she also created and executive-produced. It's called How to Die Alone, and it's currently streaming on Hulu. I'm thrilled that Natasha joins us this week to chat about some of the major themes of How to Die Alone including self-sabotage, loneliness, and feeling as if you're behind in life. We also discussed the significance of having a Black, female, plus-sized main character, how the show approaches tough situations such as friendship breakups, and how Natasha is managing IRL feelings of imposter syndrome while also continuing to channel “main character energy.”  About the Podcast The Therapy for Black Girls Podcast is a weekly conversation with Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, a licensed Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia, about all things mental health, personal development, and all the small decisions we can make to become the best possible versions of ourselves.
