Are you an introvert or an extrovert?Society often makes us feel like we are one or the other, but in reality, these personality traits are two opposite ends of a spectrum, and most of us fall somewhere in the middle (source).I’ll admit it took me a while to figure this out for myself. When I realized what I was feeling was a natural part of being an introvert, I planned my days and weeks differently. I became aware of how and when I used my social energy and I was much more intentional about rest and alone time. The secret is to use your natural strengths. And that’s what we’re going to talk about today. For show notes, click here.Related resources:Please note: some of these links are affiliate links, which means if you decide to purchase through any of them, I will earn a small commission. It can be really hard to find those hours to grow and scale your business and it can seem like an impossible task. Listen in to this episode to find out how Catherine does it with invaluable advice and practical steps we can all follow to find the time we need. If you are busy but want to be more productive with the time you have then listening to this podcast is a must. KEY TAKEAWAYS It can be really hard to find those hours to grow and scale your business, but it is possible to be more productive with the time you do have. The Practical Steps that will Make a Difference I don’t do it all on my own my business partner, our physical and virtual teams and the power team we have around us are all contributing and its vital that you learn to delegate. I get help from family members who provide free support and on those days where I have dedicated time to work I am super productive. I work when others don’t. Where you can find pockets of time that work for you. Working when others are not, means you can be very focused as your staff and teams are not making any direct demands on your time. Make use of Apps to ensure your day is as productive as possible. Using Evernote, Google calendar and Banking Apps are a must for planning and organisation whilst having all your social media and emails synced to your phone ensures you can manage responses effectively. Planning your week for yourself and others you work with will make your week much more efficient. It's important to learn to say no. If it's in your flow and will work for you it's fine to say yes but if it doesn’t don’t feel guilty about saying no. Celebrate the small wins every day and be reflective about what has gone well remembering that tomorrow is another day and another opportunity. BEST MOMENTS ‘Working when others don’t will enable you to be very productive with your time’ ‘When you are a business owner your business is a part of your life’ ‘If you are not good at it or don’t enjoy a task then get someone else to do it’ ‘I really focus on the things only I can do’ ‘Using Virtual Assistants changed everything’ ‘You need to identify the tasks that others can do so that you can continue to develop and grow your business’ VALUABLE RESOURCES Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast www.theviva.club www.turnerinvest.co.uk - free Social Media report ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner, your host of Leveraged Lifestyle Catherine has been investing in Property since 2012, with her main strategy now Serviced Accommodation which she, and now her team, have grown from 1 to 18 properties in less than 24 months. Stephen A. Hart is the founder and host of Trailblazers.FM, a business podcast that explores and highlights the stories of successful black professionals, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders. The podcast is a weekly broadcast that has been downloaded by audiences in over 55 countries globally. Stephen is a highly sought after marketing professional with extensive experience in executing web and digital media, social media, event planning and print-based marketing strategies. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, he moved to the US when he was 16 and later attended the University of South Florida, Tampa, where he attained a B.A. in Business Management. Stephen was selected to the 2016 class of the Black Enterprise 100 Modern Men of Distinction and had the Trailblazers.FM podcast featured on the home page of iTunes Podcasts for Black Voices in Business. Stephen’s passion is to teach other aspiring entrepreneurs how to build, market and grow their own highly sought-after business. TWEET: Ep. 56: Stephen A. Hart - Providing Actionable Steps to Pursuing Your #Dreams No reason to push ahead except for the belief that there is more Everybody has the struggle to stay motivated. Discouragement comes along in a variety of forms. Physical stamina waxes and wanes. Staying the course becomes difficult. Stephen A. Hart says that one of the primary things that keep him moving forward is the belief that there is more ahead for him than what he’s experiencing now. One of his core beliefs is that the gifts and abilities he’s been given are always in a state of growth - and growth means that what’s happening now is not all there is. On this episode, you’re going to be inspired by what Stephen shares about his pursuit of something more. Why you have to cut out the fluff if you’re going to reach your dream Stephen A. Hart does so many things - a full-time job, a handful of side hustles, a very popular and growing podcast - and he still has the time and presence of mind to build quality relationships with his family. He says that the only way he’s able to get it all done is by cutting out the fluff that he’s tempted to allow into his life. That means he hardly watches T.V. anymore. Instead, he redeems those hours to the service of his dreams and goals. And he makes sure that he stays organized to enable himself to identify the fluff things that will rob him of valuable time he could be leveraging toward greater things. On this episode you’re going to hear Stephen describe some of his productivity and time management systems in detail, so make sure you listen. TWEET: Why you have to cut out the fluff if you’re going to reach your #dream Success is defined by the progressive realization of the goals I’ve set We’ve all got our individual ideas of what it means to be successful. For some, it’s about revenue. For others, it’s about connections and the attainment of different roles or achievements within their particular niche or industry. Stephen A. Hart says that he defines success by the progressive realization of the goals he’s set - which means that setting goals is vital to his success. On this episode of Chasing Dreams you’re going to hear how Stephen sets goals for himself and more importantly how he systematically plans and works toward their completion. What he shares is the backbone of his success and you are certain to find something helpful that you can utilize to move you toward success in your own goals. My goal is to tell about the everyday professionals who are doing exceptional work When Stephen A. Hart began thinking about what he wanted to bring to the world through podcasting he realized that most of what he was hearing in the media were the negative stories that highlight the tensions that exist between people. But he knew that there was more happening in the world than that. His desire quickly grew for presenting stories of people who are doing exceptional work in the world and benefiting others by that work. His Trailblazers FM podcast does that week after week and Stephen would love to tell you some stories that will encourage and inspire you to move ahead as a trailblazer in your own rite. You can hear about Stephen’s podcasting journey and the success he’s seen on this episode of Chasing Dreams. Going paperless in post-production is a task I assumed was impossible no less than a year ago. With the endless amount of script pages, notes, camera reports and the like, I assumed there was no way to rid my life of paper. In the last year, however, I have solved this dilemma and gone paperless. It's real, and it's fantastic. In this episode I have a conversation with Asian Efficiency expert Zack Sexton about how to go paperless as well as how to manage documents with Evernote and Google Drive. Moreover we geek out on my favorite productivity tool on the planet Trello. If you'd like to learn more about how I use these tools to save tons of precious time every day, I have written a helpful document to walk you through my daily use of Evernote, Google Drive, and Trello in a busy post-production environment. Maxim Jago is literally "the guy that wrote the book on Avid and Adobe Premiere." He's also an award winning director, tech author, award winning screenwriter, futurist...you name it, this guy knows something about it. We talk specifically about how to become more focused and centered at work and in life, how to organize your day, and even specifics tips and tricks to organize your timeline, projects, bins, folders, whatever it takes to get more done during the day. The tagline for the book is How to study the Bible with both our hearts and our minds. I've read a lot of books on similar topics and unfortunately, the ones written specifically to women tend to be very light and fluffy. But Jen really cuts to the core of what it means to study the Bible and gives some really great, solid, Biblical teaching on the subject as well as hand's on, practical advice for actually studying the Bible. I love this quote from her in chapter one: "It might seem that studying the Bible would be something we should know how to do intuitively. After all, if God discloses his will and character there, wouldn't the Holy Spirit just open up its message to our hearts? But this is not the case. Yes, the Holy Spirit opens the Word to us, but not without some effort on our part. Do you know that the word disciple means 'learner'? As a disciple of Christ, you and I are called to learn, and learning requires effort. It also requires good study methods. We know this to be true of our schooling, but do we know it to be true of following Christ?" Women of the Word pages 22-23 I have the hard copy of the book but you can also find it on Amazon on your Kindle or even as an audio book! If you don't know already, I am a HUGE fan of audio books. I listen to them while I cook, clean, and drive around town on errands. I am able to fit so many more books into my schedule by doing that. And right now, if you are a new Audible customer, you can actually get TWO books for free - including Women of the Word - by signing up fo...
