Mr. Beast Biography Flash a weekly Biography.MrBeast has had a monumental few days in the headlines and business world. The single biggest news story comes from Fortune and is confirmed by The Rockefeller Foundation itself: Jimmy Donaldson's Beast Philanthropy has unveiled a strategic partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation to amplify youth engagement in global philanthropy. This alliance aims to leverage MrBeast's formidable reach among Gen Z and younger millennials—and the foundation's 112-year legacy in fighting poverty, boosting health, and eradicating hunger. The organizations are pooling their resources and expertise, beginning with initiatives tackling child labor in the cocoa industry. MrBeast's snack brand Feastables will be the case study for ethical chocolate production, and both teams will visit Ghana in the new year to refine their approach to yielding community-driven, lasting change. MrBeast is openly seeking to “download the brains” of Rockefeller's veteran nonprofit strategists to avoid rookie mistakes and create smarter impact faster. Major philanthropy insiders have praised MrBeast for demonstrating humility and a fresh willingness to collaborate on difficult global issues.Recent business moves are gripping the fintech world. According to Global Fintech Insider, MrBeast has filed a new trademark via Beast Holdings LLC, indicating plans for a US neobank and banking app tailored to his extraordinary fanbase—447 million subscribers and counting. The filing covers consumer lending, investment management, crypto exchange, and even card services, suggesting he's gearing up to disrupt digital banking using his direct audience loyalty. It follows previous speculation from Business Insider about a possible financial services pitch, and is significant because MrBeast already invests in notable fintech startups like Current and crypto ventures Artifact Labs and Bitski, both now acquired. While the trademark doesn't guarantee a full banking launch, it marks a new chapter in celebrity fintech. On the entertainment front, About Amazon reports that MrBeast's reality competition show Beast Games smashed Prime Video records as its most-watched unscripted series ever. Viewers can expect even higher stakes in season two beginning January 2026, where 200 contestants battle for a $10 million cash prize—the largest in reality TV. MrBeast, whose audience now exceeds 450 million across all platforms, continues to blend philanthropy with viral content, and his production studio saw major executive hires and a swirl of recent controversies that only heightened pre-release buzz.As for corporate specifics, Business Insider confirms that MrBeast still holds “a little over half” of his sprawling Beast Industries empire, recently valued at $5 billion. That level of control signals continued entrepreneurial agility and direct influence over his growing suite of ventures, from video stunts to food brands and theme parks. On social media, the Beast Philanthropy partnership launch with Rockefeller Foundation was heavily promoted across MrBeast's Instagram and X accounts, sparking widespread discussion about influencer impacts in global giving. The philanthropic announcement overlapped with teasers from MrBeast on upcoming Ghana trips and fair-trade chocolate reform, fueling both anticipation and debate online.I want to thank you for listening and remind you to subscribe to never miss an update on MrBeast. Deblock, a French crypto-banking startup founded by former Revolut and Ledger executives, has secured €30 million in Series A funding to expand its blockchain-based banking app to Ireland and further across Europe. The round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from CommerzVentures and Latitude. Deblock launched in France last year and has already attracted more than 300,000 users, reflecting an increasing demand for finance apps that make it easy to manage both euros and digital assets in one place. The fresh capital will fuel Deblock's expansion across Europe, with Ireland identified as a key early market. The company was founded by Aaron Beck, Adriana Restrepo, Jean Meyer, and Mario Eguiluz, who bring senior executive experiences from neobank, Revolut, and leading crypto hardware wallet maker, Ledger. Europe's first fully on-chain banking solution Deblock is Europe's first fully on-chain banking solution, offering a single blockchain-based banking app that combines everyday banking features with decentralised finance (DeFi) services. Deblock brings together a euro current account with a self-custody crypto wallet, enabling users to manage euros and digital assets in one platform. With its infrastructure built entirely on blockchain technology, Deblock enables faster, more transparent and more efficient processes, particularly for cross-border transfers and on-chain financial products. Its self-custody design allows users to hold, convert and use their assets within a single app, with private keys secured directly on their devices rather than by a third party. The platform also incorporates strong security standards and adheres to EU regulatory requirements for operational resilience and cybersecurity. Through Deblock, users can access everyday banking features - payments, savings, investing and borrowing - and gain direct access to DeFi services. They can move between euros and digital assets, save through Deblock's on-chain saving Vaults, which offer variable interest rates up to 10% AER, and access borrowing options secured against their digital assets. Ireland as a key early market for Deblock's European expansion The Series A funding follows exceptional growth. Since launching in France in April last year, Deblock has welcomed more than 300,000 customers. This reflects the growing demand for a new kind of banking experience that combines usability and security, where customers retain full control over their digital assets through self-custody. As part of its next phase of European expansion, Deblock has identified Ireland as a key early market, and plans to launch its platform in the country in 2026. The company has already engaged with its early Irish users to understand the needs of the Irish market, and will now focus on market preparation to make its on-chain banking experience accessible to Irish users. Ireland's established fintech sector, English-speaking market, and clear regulatory framework make it a natural step in Deblock's wider European rollout. The country also shows a steady level of interest in digital asset products, supporting the company's plans to introduce a unified platform that brings euros and digital assets together. Deblock is authorised as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) by the Banque de France/ACPR and was the first fintech to receive a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence from the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF). Through EU passporting, these licences allow Deblock to operate and offer its services in Ireland. "With a strong footprint in our home market France, Ireland represents an important early step in our European expansion," says Jean Meyer, Co-founder and CEO of Deblock. "Our goal is to create a clear and secure way to use both euros and digital assets in everyday life - and Ireland is one key market that is critical to defining the future of on-chain banking in Europe." "What stood out to us was how focused and fast the Deblock team executes," says Tom Filip ...

You might have seen ads for online banking services that seem to offer a lot of great stuff — accounts you can open in minutes and without a minimum balance or monthly fees. The ads seem to say: "These aren't your parents' boring old banks." But the truth is: Even though they might resemble banks, they aren't.These "bank-like" companies are a type of "fintech" or financial technology company. And this is a story about the potential risks of putting your money into these apps.Banks go through a whole regulatory gauntlet in order to exist. But, in the past several years, there has been a rise in fintechs that skirt regulations. And many of these pose a real threat to even the most savvy of depositors. When a little known tech company filed for bankruptcy a few months ago, thousands of people couldn't access the millions of dollars they saved. On today's show, we meet some of the people affected and learn what the fintech industry reveals about banking regulation.Today's show was hosted by Erika Beras and Sally Helm. CNET Money Editor, Dashia Milden joins Megan Lynch to discuss the safety of Banking Apps.
This is a super-short extraordinary LFP outside the usual programming schedule to alert listeners to the crime of mugging folks and then getting them to transfer under duress large sums of money to the thieves bank account. This is apparently on the increase in London and is well-known in countries such as Brazil and South Africa where people may routinely take burner phones with them when going into the City. I initially learned about this risk in this Reddit thread. Many people without reflection may in effect carry access to all of their money on a single device. We look at possible simple answers to avoid unnecessary risk. There is also a shoutout for a Q& A in the 10th anniversary episode and instructions as how to send the Qs to me for answering in that episode.
