As someone who has lived in Costa Rica for over eighteen years and with experience of owning multiple companies Adam shares great advice on the best way to move and experience the best of living in Costa Rica. This is the best time to do whatever you want to do and the world today offers the opportunity to leverage your life and live the lifestyle you want wherever you want to in the world.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Most people are looking for a beach lifestyle and the pacific coast is the most desirable with great locations. You can have a great lifestyle if you have a source of money. New people and foreigners are welcomed in Costa Rica. If you value your time then leverage other people so you can spend your time doing what you want to do. Throughout your life, your values will ebb and flow as your life changes. Now you have the flexibility to change direction multiple times in your life. It’s a magical time where you can live the lifestyle you want wherever you want to in the world. The infinite option universe we have created for ourselves leads to a lot of dissatisfaction because there is no certainty. A leveraged lifestyle is about making a decision and then being brave enough to take action and make it happen. Go all in and don’t give yourself an easy way back if you want to have the best chance of success.   BEST MOMENTS ‘This is the best time to do whatever you want’ ‘Take a risk and do it, it’s your life do something with it’ ‘You may start in one location and then change as your lifestyle changes’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.business-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw www.Livelifeleveraged.com   Guest Links: Adam McBride - Host of The Costa Rica Experience Podcast LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/adamamcbride/ The Costa Rica Experience Podcast      ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner   Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!   Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. Using tools such as google suite and skype will create a system you can use easily – all available in the viva club. Creating job offer and contract – a starting VA working full time can cost as little as £150 a month. You can hire a VA for a particular project or for ongoing tasks within your business. From £50 to Thriving Ebay & Etsy Business - Interview with eCommerce Business Owner Emma Dee

Catherine revisits one of the most downloaded episodes from the last 2 years with guest  Emma Dalton who created the freedom she wanted by moving from the corporate world and creating a successful eCommerce business. Emma discusses the turning point and what it actually takes to get started with no money and create the type of business you want. They discuss finding your passion and why all the knowledge and experience you have previously has value and can be transferred to new ventures. There are always numbers that you have to know and it’s vital that even as a small business you plan as if you are a big business so the right systems and processes are in place, making it easier to successfully grow. This is a great insight with lots of advice on how to get started in business and design the life you want.   KEY TAKEAWAYS I didn’t have the money to set up a business but I did have an overriding belief that everything will work out if you work hard enough. The essential numbers are turnover and profit margin growth month on month. The fundamentals are -  what profit am I making now and is it growing month on month? I started with around £50 and I focus on sourcing women’s unique fashion pieces through charity shops, online and car boot sales. If you want to get started, declutter your own wardrobe and treat it as a business. Use it as a learning opportunity to find out about the photography, whether you want to use the auctions or buy it now to sell and to gain experience of the whole selling process. My business moved to the next level when I took a conscious decision to review and put in place the right processes. I’ve leveraged my eBay business activity down to 3 days and increased my income by 3x through processes. Even if you are a small business plan as if you are a big business. if you have the right processes in place at the start it makes it much easier as you grow. Blocking time and being very structured about how I use my time has been the key to be able to use my time efficiently. The hardest part of business is saying ‘no’ As an entrepreneur you know you are on a journey and moving ahead but it’s not always possible to see the destination all the time. I’ve always wanted a flexible living life and I want to have integrity in what I do. Find the thing the brings you joy; design the life you want and be honest about what you want.   BEST MOMENTS ‘Through effective leveraging when I have downtime for me it’s all for me’  I’ve become much more aware of my values since being self-employed. ‘You can just start and you don’t buy any new stock until what you have is sold so there is no new money involved’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.business-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw Emma Dee Instagram   Episodes to link back to: #030: The number you NEED! #020: Passion vs Passive Income   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner   Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!   Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. Cast your mind back to Episode #033 of Leveraged Lifestyle; Catherine explains how finding your Ikigai is an important part of leveraging your lifestyle. Catherine has been reflecting on this episode and the content around IKIGAI! Specifically she wanted to preface it and revisit, to open a discussion with you the listeners (so make sure you get in touch and let Catherine know your thoughts and comments)   KEY TAKEAWAYS Ikigai, the 4 concentric circles The first circle is what you love, the second circle is what the world needs, the third circle is what you can be paid for and the fourth circle what you are good at. Overlapping these are passion, mission, profession and vocation. In the centre of the circles is Ikigai. Ikigai The Japanese believe that everyone has an Ikigai and it is the reason we want to jump out of bed in the morning. There is no secret formula for finding happiness but there is one key ingredient the ability to reach a state of flow and through that state to have the optimal experience to find the Ikigai. Finding your flow Challenging tasks Completing tasks that are just out of your comfort zone. If tasks are too easy it can lead to apathy. if the task is too hard you may give up If it’s just challenging enough that’s where we find our flow. A clear objective Once the journey has begun its important to keep an overview of the objective but it’s key to focus on the flow. When you have a clearly defined objective and focus on the process that’s when you find your flow. Concentrate on a single task Be in a distraction-free environment. You will feel calmer and have better power of retention and you will be able to achieve flow. When we are multi-tasking productivity is less and we are more likely to make mistakes and feel stressed. Advantages of finding your flow Your mind will be focused on the current task. It enables you to live in the present feel in control. Your mind will become clear and able to deal better with challenges. Which activities in your life make you enter flow? What do these activities that drive you to flow have in common? Why do the activities drive you to flow? When you can answer these questions, you will be able to find your Ikigai BEST MOMENTS ‘The more you are in flow the closer you are to your Ikigai’ ‘Finding that mix of passion, mission, profession’ ‘More than just systems and processes, Its everything you want to create’ ‘Feel like there is nothing more important than the single task you have chosen to complete’ ‘Starting with a ritual and end with a reward’ ‘Tasks that stretch our skills’  VALUABLE RESOURCES Book: Ikiagi, The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life - Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles  https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ikigai-Japanese-secret-long-happy/dp/178633089X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549470866&sr=8-1&keywords=ikigai https://itunes.apple.com/…/leveraged-lifestyl…/id1380225106… Leveraged Lifestyle Community Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/551963318530196/ ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! 8 Ways To Compare Yourself To Others Productively

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 4, 2020 8:40

Catherine looks at the ways we all compare ourselves to others - both personally and in business. It’s a part of being human but how can you use it to your advantage? This is a great opportunity to reflect on how comparing yourself to others can be a productive process if you understand how you can learn and benefit from the comparison and move yourself and your business forward on your journey to achieve the lifestyle you want.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Everyone has their own journey and every journey is different. You can’t know all the challenges others have faced and overcome. It’s important to realise it’s all a part of the process, the journey. Don’t try and do everything ask yourself what will give you the best return on your investment of time and effort? What is going to give you the lifestyle you want? £6M Property Portfolio Before 30 + £2000 Gift Giveaway - 2nd anniversary special interview with Jackie Tomes

This episode marks the second year anniversary of the Leveraged Lifestyle podcast and Catherine has some great birthday giveaways for listeners along with one of the most popular guests from the previous 100 plus episodes – Jackie Tomes, Property Strategist. Jackie built a portfolio worth over 6 million in just over 6 years and achieved all of this before she reached her thirtieth birthday. Jackie has extensive knowledge and expertise in the property sector and shares some great advice on what makes a difference when you are starting out in property and how to move successfully through the levels of business. Jackie wants renting to be better than buying and with a value-driven company she is building new and better ways of doing things and inspiring others.   KEY TAKEAWAYS We have built a business that we can remove ourselves from because our vision at the start was about being able to travel. We help others build great property businesses that are systemised and have the right processes in place. It’s about achieving a balance that works for you and if your business is set up in the right way you can be away from it. A leveraged lifestyle is about both mindset and skillset coming together successfully. You have to double up on work to be able to get to a point where you can work less. It’s important that you are able to work smart as well as working hard. How you set up working with your remote team and using technology effectively is key.  When people start in property they often spread themselves across several different strategies but you should have a specific focus. Simplify and focus so that you are able to successfully go through the different stages of business as you grow. When you don’t have any money, you focus on getting money for yourself and that’s not the right approach when working with investors. It’s about asking what value can I give? What can I offer my client?   BEST MOMENTS ‘The quality of our team who are all behind a shared vision is quite magical’ ‘It’s all about having a combination of processes, systems and brilliant people in the right roles for them’ ‘If you rent there is amazing flexibility’ “I’m on a path to try and live a life I love and am proud of’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast Apple: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.business-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw     ABOUT THE GUEST Jackie Tomes, Founder of the Tomes Homes Group & Property Strategy www.property-strategy.com  &   www.tomeshomes.com Survive, Adapt & Thrive in property investment in 2020 - reset your investment strategy in response to the current market conditions.  Jackie started Tomes Homes in 2013. It took 18 months of working two jobs to create the £16k deposit needed to buy the first investment property in 2014.  Since then, Tomes Homes has worked with investment partners to flourish into a property investment group, owning & managing 60+ homes with a portfolio value of £6M+; supported by a team of nine, with family-values at the core. The primary business model is purchasing, renovating & renting out blocks of flats in Kent.    Property Strategy works with other property investors on Strategy & Systemisation to help them turn their investing into an efficient, systemised business.   Jackie is on a mission to build great property businesses that can redefine the image of the property investment sector and ultimately, through a relentless focus on customer and tenant satisfaction, make renting better than owning. Catherine reflects on how, as an entrepreneur, it can be easy to always be thinking about your business and your family but never yourself. She shares some practical advice that can be implemented to help anyone to take a pause and clear their head. Taking action for yourself can be a challenge but clearing your head and enjoying some time exclusively for you will ultimately help both you and your business to perform better.   KEY TAKEAWAYS A leveraged lifestyle is about freedom of thought and being able to live the life you want to for you. Creating opportunities to pause, get out of your own head and enjoy being you is a crucial part of a leveraged lifestyle. Get outside, enjoy nature and be present in the moment. Get out and move, our bodies are made to move so any kind of movement is a positive whether its active or relaxation. Meditate to find your inner calm, it’s an opportunity to be still, stop being busy and clear your thoughts. Listen to music, create a playlist and enjoy your favourite songs to help you clear your head. Spend time with family and friends and fill up your levels well-being and positivity.   BEST MOMENTS ‘Make it about being in the moment’ ‘Get out there and get moving’ ‘I’m often in my head thinking about business, family but never just about me’    VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.business-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner   Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!   Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. 5 Ways to Achieve More - Get Results By Setting Hard Deadlines

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 14, 2020 19:19

Welcome back to Leveraged Lifestyle’s “Break without a break” where we look back at some of the most impactful episodes of the podcast from the very beginning!   In this episode, Catherine takes you through the importance of setting deadlines and gives you five ways to help you set hard and fast deadlines so that you can really get done what you need to, whether that's in business, in your personal life or in work. Hop in to learn about this and much more. KEY TAKEAWAYS   Five ways that you can set hard and fast deadlines. Number one is to get a version one out there right now. Don't over-think it. Don't just think I will do it by the end of the week or I’ll do it tomorrow, if you've got some content in you maybe it could be a Facebook Live, a podcast episode, maybe a blog that you've been thinking about for ages, get it written, get it recorded, get your camera out, get your phone out whatever it might be, and just do it right now.   Number two is to book something as a reward for getting the thing done. Something really nice, like a holiday, maybe travelling for a few weeks, it could be getting yourself a new piece of equipment, a nice iPad or Mac or something like that, a new phone, something that might also help within the business. Number three is set a day and then get accountable make it public. Let people know that you've got something coming whether that's a new product for your online store whether that's getting your online store set up whether that's on Amazon or Shopify.   Number four. How about rather than setting a pleasure award we set up something that's going to cause some pain. One of the ways one of my business mentors do this is when he's writing a book he will set a date and then pay for people to come in to proofread the final draft of the book. Number five is having something in place that can't be moved. Maybe an event date that's out there already booked the venue, maybe it's a book launch and you've got the launch date all set and it's all set up on Amazon. Maybe it's the launch of your products.   BEST MOMENTS “There is no better time than now to get something out there.” “When you do something nice, reward yourself.” “Have something in place that cannot now be moved because you just put too much into it.” “There is no better time than now to start creating your leverage lifestyle.” VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.business-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner   Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!   Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. This week Podcast Host Alex Sapala (Business Wealth & Mindset Podcast) asks Catherine all the questions! They discuss her entrepreneurial journey and why the right mindset and being solution-focused are key requirements for anyone in business. Catherine also discusses how to achieve a leveraged lifestyle and why it can make the difference and achieve the balance needed for freedom and success.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Lots of people have ideas it’s knowing how you can turn those ideas into a business. People who stay in business and keep going as entrepreneurs are those who have a risk mentality There will always be questions and situations that are new to you so it’s important to have a strong network around you. Everyone will experience overwhelm and it is usually because you have said yes to something you shouldn’t have. It’s a very important part of an entrepreneurs mindset – the ability to look at any problem and immediately look at how it can be solved. Mentors and coaches are different, a mentor will have been on the journey themselves. A great mentor is someone who has overcome challenges themselves. Mentors can accelerate your progress and help you to be better, faster. If you can bring together something you love, your passion, with earning a living then you have created a leveraged lifestyle. A leveraged lifestyle is about working smarter doing the bits you love and creating the life you want for you and your family. If you want to get into business spend some time finding out what it will take. You have to be ready to put in the work and understand who you are and what your strengths are if you want to create a leveraged lifestyle.   BEST MOMENTS ‘I’ve always been very solution-focused’ ‘I had all these ideas about creating new businesses I just needed to find a way to make it happen’ ‘Mental health is about understanding yourself and taking a holistic approach to your own well-being’   VALUABLE RESOURCES Business, Wealth and Mindset podcast series http://www.catherineaturner.com Email: media@turnerinvest.co.uk www.instagram.com/catherineannt www.facebook.com/catherineturnerspeaker www.linkedin.com/in/catherineturnerspeaker   ABOUT THE GUEST Alex is a prize-winning chartered accountant with experience in financial markets from trading finance, capital hedging, structural foreign exchange and interest rates to operational risk from the world’s top financial and advisory institutions including Deloitte, RBS and JPMorgan Chase Alex has been involved in property development programmes across different types since 2008, building and managing a portfolio that includes standard buy-to-lets, student accommodation and other houses in multiple occupancy (HMOs). In this 100th  celebration episode, Catherine is in the guest seat as she discusses her journey and the evolution of the podcast with Kelly Lemon. They discuss what having a leveraged lifestyle really is and how there is a shared view on achieving freedom, choice, flexibility and opportunities but how this looks and what it is will be different for every individual. People often think that leveraging is just about outsourcing but it is so much more and can be part of your lifestyle if you truly understand it’s about time, knowledge, experience and people and a mindset about achieving the control to live the life you want to, spending your time doing the things you want to do.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Having a leveraged lifestyle – the freedom and choice opportunities has been a consistent theme across the guests but how they implement and live the freedom and choice has been very different. For me, it’s about creating freedom and choice with an element of being able to create your own security and being in control of it. It starts in your life and how you are using your time. what are you doing with your time that you don’t want to do can you outsource it so that you can spend your time doing what you choose to. Leverage is about having the right systems in place to be effective Leveraging is about your time, knowledge and experience, money and people in your network and those around you. It’s about seeking out others who have more knowledge and can be leveraged to help you move forward. People can often get leveraging wrong when they are not realistic about what they really want to achieve and what someone else can do. Understanding the tasks that are slowing you down or those you don’t do well or like is the key to knowing what you want to leverage out to others. Communication is key so that others know what you want them to do and how to do it. You need to decide on what lifestyle you want to achieve and then decide how to get there.   BEST MOMENTS ‘You have to give people future vision glasses so they can see what is important to leverage and what will make a difference to the business’ ‘We are there to make sure people are getting it right with their Virtual Assistant hires’ ‘We are always going to be striving to be better and do more but it’s important to realise perfect is what in front of us now’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.business-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! How to be Happy

Play Episode Listen Later May 19, 2020 8:31

Catherine shares and reflects on a post from entrepreneur Richard Branson. His ‘How to be happy  - letter to a stranger’ is an emotional post about the importance of being and finding happiness. We can get caught up the race to move forward and achieve our goals but will this bring happiness? What’s really important is what you want to ‘be’ and appreciating the moment. If you can be bold and just ‘be’ for a moment, you will be able to put things into perspective and happiness will follow.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Happiness is not something afforded to a special few it can be yours if you take the time to let it grow It’s ok to be stressed, scared and sad, life is made up of many elements. Wealth and success do not bring happiness. Happiness brings wealth and success, happiness is about being. Write a ‘to be’ list to find your happiness ‘doing’ will bring moments of joy but not necessarily happiness. Be healthy and around your family and friends. Be there for someone and let someone be there for you. If you allow yourself to be in the moment then happiness will follow. Allowing yourself just to be, puts things into perspective. Start being every day and appreciate the moment.   BEST MOMENTS ‘Allowing yourself just to be, puts things into perspective’ ‘There is a reason we are called human beings, not human doings’ ‘Take the time to simply be and you will be happier’   VALUABLE RESOURCES :https://www.virgin.com/richard-branson/how-be-happy The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.busines-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! Are you trying to keep up with those around you and looking to recreate the same lifestyle as those on the next level, perpetually chasing the next shiny penny? If this is you then Stop! this will not give you the life you want. The only way to live the life you want is to forge your own path because your leverage lifestyle should be yours and yours alone. In this episode, Catherine shares great advice on how to achieve and live the life you want, looking only to those who are truly inspirational for motivation.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Are you choosing to do what others are doing not because you want to do it but because you are chasing the next new thing -  that ‘shiny penny’? Your leverage lifestyle must be your own not anyone else’s Look to others for inspiration but remember your life is yours to live. You need to forge your own path and choose what you do, for you, not just follow others. Before you start something, talk to others, those who are close to you and those who can give an unbiased view about the things you want to do and achieve. List both what you want and what you don’t want to gain a clear understanding. Ask yourself what would you truly regret not doing? Step back from social media and review whether those you follow are truly inspirational. Truly inspirational people recognise we are all unique individuals who have differing needs, wants and goals.   BEST MOMENTS ‘Are you living a life that someone else has chosen?’ ‘You only regret the things you haven’t done in life’  ‘Take the opportunity to review whether those you are looking towards are really an inspiration for you’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.busines-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner   Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!   Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. Are you someone who could currently be learning a new skill that could snowball and impact positively in other areas of your life? Catherine explains how snowball skills can directly impact on your life even though the skill may not be obviously connected to the skills you already have or those you need for your work. This is a light bite episode that will help anyone reflect on, and be inspired to start learning a new skill because if the learning has an impact on your life either directly or non-directly then you are effectively leveraging.   KEY TAKEAWAYS You could be part of the group of people who now have the time to work on a snowball skill that will help with your job moving forward or a side hustle you are planning. If learning a new skill has an impact on your life either directly or non-directly then you are effectively leveraging. Think about both the direct and indirect benefits Ask yourself - If I had more time what skill would I want to learn? If there is a skill or task that someone else can do but you love doing, then you should continue doing it because doing more of what you love is what creates a leveraged lifestyle overall.   BEST MOMENTS ‘If you do it and love it that’s a benefit’ ‘Look at some of the skills you’ve been putting off learning’  ‘Find those pockets of time and keep building on the skills you have’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.busines-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner   Catherine is the host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!   Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. What Metric are You Measuring Your Life By?

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 21, 2020 9:38

What is your metric to live a life worth living and a life you love? In this very reflective episode, Catherine asks the question and shares why a metric based purely on money is never enough to bring you what you truly want. At a time when many of us are reflecting on different aspects of our lives, this is a great listen and provides some great reflective starting questions. Whatever the time is for you, we can all take the time to consider what our metric is and how we are going to measure our lives and success moving forward.   KEY TAKEAWAYS What is the metric you are measuring your life yourself by? Is it a metric created by you? because ideally, it shouldn’t be one created by anyone except you. For too many people it’s just about a money metric but it has to be what the money can do for you - the choices, the freedom and the opportunities. It’s got to be about your bigger purpose; Is it about your children seeing how you reacted to life and various situations? The knowledge you put out there and how much you understand the world? Is your metric about the number you served, gave opportunities too and inspired? The lessons you taught about being a better person – to put your best self out there? The more we can give without expecting anything in return the better our lives will ultimately be.   BEST MOMENTS ‘If I‘ve learnt anything, its if it’s just about you and your ego you will not get very far or be very liked’ ‘Maybe it’s about the number of strangers you help’ ‘A metric can change as you grow’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip Business SOS: www.busines-sos.com Utility Warehouse: bit.ly/lluw   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! 10 Ways to Make Money From Home (Lockdown Special!)

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 31, 2020 30:25

How can you make quick cash and keep your business afloat in this difficult period of lockdown? It’s a question on millions of minds across the world right now.  Fortunately, Catherine is here today to give you ten instant and practical ways to unlock opportunities for making money in a time when you need it the most. With a gallery of ideas, and the online resources to back you up, this is an incredibly timely, and invaluable episode for everyone. KEY TAKEAWAYS Each method will have its own pros and cons, but these will depend upon you and your personal circumstances. Some require investment, and some require a complete pivot in terms of outlook, but all hold value and are worth considering. E-commerce - Specifically the “private labelling” strategy, involving taking a product and re-packaging it for your brand. This strategy requires education and research, but can be a hugely effective way of generating income. Arbitrage - A different form of e-commerce, which takes two forms: online and retail. Arbitrage is the simple act of sourcing a product and selling it on at a profit. It’s important to remember that no-one should attempt to be profiteering during this period. E-commerce drop-shipping - This strategy means that you don’t have to invest in buying the stock before you re-sell it. Essentially you act as a third-party between the manufacturer and the customer as a storefront. The manufacturer ships directly to the customer once an order is placed. Handcrafting and selling -Are you creating a product at home? Would there be a market for it on sites such as Etsy, Not On The High Street, Facebook Sales or eBay? Now might be the time to start selling your handcrafted items online! Online courses - Do you have a specialist skill that you could teach to others? People are determined to keep developing and growing during isolation. This may be a wonderful opportunity to pass your skills on to a waiting world. Facebook/YouTube Live streams - Physical exercise classes, educational lessons, musical tuition and many other skills can be taught easily through Facebook Live and YouTube broadcasts to people hungry for instruction. Podcasting/YouTube - Now is the time to start your podcast! Podcasting can generate income in lots of ways, plus it’s a fabulous means of spending your creativity. It’s easy to start, and audiences are craving content right now. The best part is that you can repurpose in all kinds of ways: scripts into blog posts, and even YouTube videos into audio downloads. Delivery - Logistics is booming right now as most people are having goods and products delivered rather than going out for them. Perhaps you can become a driver for one of the many services out there? Trading - A strategy not for the faint-hearted, and certainly requires a degree of education, and the correct mental capacity and nerve. But trading in stocks and shares is something you can do from home, and there are opportunities to be had in the volatile financial world. Consultancy - Can you offer your knowledge in a consultancy capacity? You may have a wealth of knowledge that has suddenly become highly sought-after. Places such as LinkedIn are marvellous ways of letting the world know that you’re skilled, and that you’re available. BEST MOMENTS ‘Making money is allowed!’ ‘All businesses are allowed to make profit during this time’ ‘People are still having birthdays! People still want to give gifts!’ ‘People want to learn from people who’d been there and done it’ ‘It’s about making money during this time using the resources available to you’ ‘How can you help steer and navigate people through this?' ‘Be kind to yourself. Be kind to others’ VALUABLE RESOURCES   iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip    Find the free resources you need at - www.business-sos.com Receive Catherine’s 21 Ways To Re-market Your Podcast Content To Increase ROI And Reach Your Ideal Clients- http://www.catherineaturner.com/#   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine is host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! Today’s show is a message you all need to hear, especially if you’re a business or entrepreneur who’s rightly scared by the events engulfing the world. It’s okay to keep going. It’s okay to be out there doing business. Don’t be fearful about what other people are going to say. We need to keep going, any way we can. In this week’s show, Catherine talks about her reaction to the way business operators are being treated by those in society who don’t seem to be able to understand the motivations behind business decisions right now. KEY TAKEAWAYS As business operators, we’re right to be looking for ways to pivot and thrive in the face of defeat. As long as we’re not putting anyone at risk, and as long as we aren’t disregarding the problem, it’s perfectly fine to want to survive this. All that any of us can do right now is to keep supplying the world with products and services that can keep us going as a society. Creating a sense of normality in the wake of so devastating a condition, is a healthy reaction. This is not a time for negativity, but overwhelming positivity. This is a time when we should all be working together to pull each other up, not tear each other down. Everyone is scared. Everyone is anxious. Hate only causes that anxiety to flourish like the virus itself. It doesn’t matter what your strategy is, or even if you have no strategy, there will always be someone who’ll criticise you for it. The sooner we accept that, the sooner we’ll be able to get over their sometimes hurtful remarks. BEST MOMENTS 'People are going to judge you anyway’ ‘I am not going to be scared’ ‘Why pour your energy into doing something negative, when you can do something positive?’ ‘Be grateful for what we have'   VALUABLE RESOURCES iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip     ABOUT THE HOST Catherine is host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! Catherine looks closely at the current global situation and shares the positives and opportunities that are a part of the time we are currently living through. It’s vital that we all look closely at how to gain perspective on what is happening and understand the role everyone has to play in moving forward. History has shown that the world repeatedly, over time, experiences global crisis so it’s important to be prepared. Listen in and hear Catherine’s great advice on how you can  optimise your preparation and be ready for the next time. KEY TAKEAWAYS The only constant is change, so if we can be better prepared and ready then moving forward is always possible. Perspective can help you to evaluate a situation effectively and make an informed response. Everyone can move forward and do things that make a difference. A positive mindset makes it possible to look at the situation and see what you can do to adapt. If you are isolated how can you use that time positively and productively? How can you; work more efficiently? work virtually? get your message out there in a different way? leverage your time effectively? Some businesses will experience challenge whilst others will thrive in exceptional situations such as the one being experienced worldwide currently. If you are not in a position to move forward or leverage this time you can prepare and be ready for the next time. One of The Hardest Things I've Ever Had to do

In today's episode, Catherine really wants to share one of the hardest things she has had to do. Those who follow Catherine on social channels will know that she has recently had to start liquidation of her Serviced Accommodation business. In a heartfelt and personal post, she explained how she has reached this decision, how it has affected her personally and her business. You will find the post here in this podcast Description, but please listen to the episode and hear Catherine's words from herself. Get in touch and let Catherine know if you have been affected by the loss of a Business or similar. “One of my Mentors… Has put up a post about this ‘quitters never win’-type thing. But actually; Quitting the wrong thing is the RIGHT thing to do” -Catherine Turner CATHERINES POST I know it's a cliche, but this is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write. It's horrible to become a statistic. After 5 years & 5 months of running our Serviced Accommodation business we are having to liquidate. It's been all too easy recently to just see & dwell on the negatives & to get upset about it getting to this point, but I woke up this morning also remembering the positives: That during that time we helped multiple investors achieve way better returns on their money than they would have done in the bank. Helped multiple landlords with guaranteed rents & a hassle free solution. Hosted nearly 8,000 guests & gave them a home away from home experience. At our height this business also employed 4 staff here in the UK & 6 in the Philippines. And took over £85k a month in bookings. Steve served many SA business owners & mentored them in starting there businesses. However, it was not meant to continue. The industry has changed alot in those few years, when we started our USP was that we were the only operator in our city! 5 years on competition has risen & outpaced demand in a number of our locations, meaning nightly rates drop, overheads increased & margins were squeezed. We believe lean, stand-out, well-educated operators will continue to florish. However, in our case, coupled with this we had multiple, back to back, 'bad luck' or unforseen circumstances, many out of our control, plus certainly a couple of bad judgement decisions, meant we have had to cease trading. This is not only having an impact on us, but also on a number of recent investors, landlords, service providers & staff and for that we are truly sorry. We have done our utmost to trade through the difficulties, ploughing our own money in, selling off parts of the business, but nothing has been enough to save it. We sought professional advice & the only answer was to liquidate. This was not the answer we were hoping for, but in order to save & protect our other businesses & interests it was the only way to go. I know some people are hurt & angry right now, and are wanting to lash out & try to 'ruin us' or words to that affect. I understand that hurt, I am too. A number of people, agencies, companies have let us down & that is a big factor in why we are in this position. Just when it seemed like we were catching a break, another one hit us, it has been relentless over the last few months. Making us question if we had been bad people in another life, were we just idiots or completely naive. Maybe we were too trusting, too open & honest - but those are qualities I think are important & never want to lose. Then I looked at the statistics & realised we had just become another one. We've probably all heard that a fifth of all small businesses fail in their 1st year, but did you know 50% fail after 5 years & 70% fail in their 10th year in business? But that also failure doesn't mean the end & as long as you learn from it, you can grow & become better from it. That failure is a rite of passage, common to all that dare to doing something different, against the norm. When I started looking at all the business owners I have admired, so many have had businesses that failed, that impacted not only them, but those around them. But they learned, got better, moved on & made an even bigger & better impact & success because of what they had been through. This is not the end, merely a detour on the journey. I know we are good people, with good intentions, we will do everything we can to make this right by people affected. We are extremely grateful for all who have stuck by us during this time, been patient & understanding & that will not be forgotten. We already have multiple projects & plans in place and those already involved in those are not affected by this. This is hard to write, because I know no matter what I say & write, some people will judge (without all the facts) & decide we are not people they want to work with. Others will be more understanding & realise this actually gives us more experience, knowing how to avoid this in the future or at least what to look out for, and that is in fact an asset. This has been a hugely stressful, upsetting & horrible experience & it's not over yet. However, we are so grateful for everyone who has helped & supported us. And I am so grateful that we have each other through this time, not everyone is so lucky to have such a great partner in life & business. I do not take that for granted.     -Catherine Turner VALUABLE RESOURCES Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! No one knows more about leveraging their business to achieve their ideal lifestyle than this our host, Catherine Turner! This episode sees Catherine delivering a very special keynote address to a select group of attendees, in which she discusses the importance of leveraging and automation, and the ways in which Catherine herself managed to achieve her own leveraged lifestyle. KEY TAKEAWAYS When we invest in property, we need to make sure that we are leveraging, outsourcing and automating to the best of our abilities, or we risk creating more work for ourselves.   The belief that you are the only person who can run your business is all too common. We need to recognise that we can’t be the best at everything in the world.   Social media is a very useful way of leveraging out the sourcing of clients. Agencies, too, are an invaluable way of handing off tasks so that you can free up your own time.   Finding out about your tenants can often lead to further success. By discovering the lifestyle patterns of guests, you can more accurately predict their future interactions with you.   Finding the right business partner is easy of your strengths and weaknesses are the same. It’s best to partner with someone who can do the things you’re not best at. That way you can cover more bases.   You don’t always need to leverage by means of a person. There are so many systems out there that can help to lighten your load, and they come far cheaper in many cases. Automation is sometimes better than outsourcing.   The systems that Catherine recommends in order to help make your business more exepdient are: Audio recordings of calls and meetings - this can make reference far easier Evernote - notes that sync between devices Lastpass - Ensures the smooth syncing and secure storage of logins and passwords, that can be easily shareable Quicktime Player - this can be used to record conversations   VA’s, especially those working abroad, can be utilised at all times of the day. Perhaps they could run elements of your business while you’re asleep, so that you can essentially operate on a twenty-four hours basis.   BEST MOMENTS   ‘Who need another day job?’ ‘It was just me, a telephone, and a laptop’ ‘For us this was all about building relationships’ ‘You don’t need to reinvent the wheel’ ’These things are working whether anyone’s working or not’ ‘When do we ever have our ducks in a row?’    VALUABLE RESOURCES The Serviced Accommodation Property Podcast Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup Book My Stay - www.bookmystay.co.uk Lastpass - www.lastpass.com ABOUT THE GUEST Kevin Poneskis, also known as the Property Soldier, has been a full-time property investor and mentor since 2011. How Much do I Need to be Earning From my Business Before I Hired a Virtual Assistant

In this episode Catherine addresses a common question that is being asked a lot recently; How Much do I Need to be Earning From my Business Before I Hired a Virtual Assistant?   So in this episode Catherine explains what the ratio of bookings you require should be to determine whether and when you may require a VA.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Look at what revenue you have coming in at the moment from all of your streams of income and decide whether you have enough to budget for a VA. If you’re starting your business but don’t require to make any profit currently then using a va can really help you build solid systems and processes to help growth. However, if you’re in need of profit and are living off of the profit you make then a va is maybe not quite right for you. What level are you at with your business? If you’re right at the beginning and are trying to figure out your initial processes and systems, then a va probably wouldn’t be right for you. However, if you already have these systems in place, a va can help to free up time to enable you to do the higher skilled tasks. You would be looking at £2 - £4 per hour for a va. Benchmarking how much you can afford to give per hour. It depends massively on how big you want to scale your business.   BEST MOMENTS ‘I wouldn’t look at revenue first’ ‘What’s the goal for your business’ ‘It’s 100% up to you’   VALUABLE RESOURCES Zapier: https://zapier.com/ The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip   101 tasks report: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2! 3 Simple Ways to Create Your Business Systems

These steps will enable you to not be the be all and end all of your business and free up some of your time. These steps are great because they don’t require many technology, systems or software. Listen to this episode to find out more!     KEY TAKEAWAYS  Use a piece of equipment such as a Zoom H1N recorder and microphone, a mobile phone or something that you can simply record your voice on.  Record yourself when you’re doing a task or on the phone so that you’re able to take notes without having to take notes. Talk through what you’re doing if you’re doing something physically.  Talk through the system of what you’re doing, this doesn’t mean technology systems, but I mean the process of which you go through when you’re doing what you’re doing.  Have the recordings transcribed so you can then turn them into scripts or checklist for someone you’re passing the task onto.  Have a notepad always on you, this could be a digital one or a physical one. Evernote is a good piece of software I use.  When you’re doing any task on your laptop (Specifically a Macbook) use QuickTime to record your screen whilst you do these tasks so that you can record the system of how you’re doing it. Have your team to do this too and turn them into training videos.    BEST MOMENTS  ‘This is all about taking action’  ‘Use what works for you’  ‘It’s all about systems’     VALUABLE RESOURCES  Zapier: https://zapier.com/  The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast  iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast  Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast  Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup  VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva  Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass   Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip    101 tasks report: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva     ABOUT THE HOST  Catherine Turner     Catherine is host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!     Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. In this episode Catherine discusses what process she follows when she is looking to outsource tasks within her business. She also explains why it’s important to use this process before choosing whether to outsource the tasks or hire another person.      KEY TAKEAWAYS  It’s important to create your systems and automate them using software before you look to outsource.   It’s easy to think that you just need another person that you can pass the work onto when really there might be a piece of software that can hep before another person needs to get involved.  Set up an online tool that requires no human intervention at all so that if someone’s ill or you’re away, your work is still getting done. This will also allow your staff to get on with the higher level tasks that need doing.  Leverage what’s already out there that exists before you look to create your own. Knowledge, books, experience etc…   Have you created systems and got the knowledge out of your head in order to run your business?   Once you’ve created your systems and have clear checklists and steps for each task that needs doing, start looking to automate and outsource.  Sometimes it’s better to get started and improve later.    BEST MOMENTS  ‘You don’t need all of your ducks in a row’  ‘Never look to replace a human with outsourcing’  ‘There will always be new systems created along the way’     VALUABLE RESOURCES  Zapier: https://zapier.com/  The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast  iTunes: www.bit.ly/itunesllpodcast  Stitcher: www.bit.ly/stitcherllpodcast  Leveraged Lifestyle Community: www.bit.ly/llocfbgroup  VIVA Club: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva  Life Leverage Online Masterclass: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/masterclass   Join our VIP Investor List: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/vip    101 tasks report: www.turnerinvest.co.uk/viva     ABOUT THE HOST  Catherine Turner     Catherine is host of the iTunes No.1 business podcast Leveraged Lifestyle, she is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Founder of Turner Invest and a mum of 2!     Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. Build Your Authority And Leverage Your Life – With Rob Stewart

After leaving the RAF, Rob Stewart entered the world of property investment, and carved out a highly successful path for himself that has seen his portfolio and reputation grow considerably. For the past six years, Rob has been helping other experts to increase their own authority, and to maximise their investment opportunities through coaching, with the goal of ensuring that they too can achieve their leveraged lifestyle. Rob joins Catherine today to discuss the huge benefits of property investment, the differences that have taken place since he began, the importance of trusting others, the formula for building authority, and the journey that led to Rob being able to achieve his own leveraged lifestyle.  KEY TAKEAWAYS One of the greatest things about property investment is that it can be done remotely. Rob was in the middle of a career with the RAF, and generally abroad, when he began conducting property business. Investors are attracted to success. If you make someone some money, then the likelihood is that they’ll come back to you when you present new opportunities. Property education taught Rob the importance of leverage, and of team-building. Trusting others to do their job, and gaining the insight needed in order to hand off tasks to his team, has led Rob to be able to free up more time, and to concentrate on his training ventures. For those who can do so, Rob recommends spending time in another time zone when you need to get work done. Being on a different clock to the rest of your business means that you are essentially unreachable during the working day. No matter where you are in your business journey, the frameworks stay the same when it comes to guidance, but the tactics will differ, depending on who you are, what stage you’re at, and what your niche is. The key to a leveraged lifestyle is to work hard and not procrastinate. No-one ever achieved a leveraged lifestyle by talking about it. You need to roll up your sleeves and get started as soon as possible. The formula for building authority is DAE to the power of C (Demonstration, Association, Education to the power of Consistency): Demonstrate who we are and what our values are Associate and build credibility Educate, and don’t be seen as a salesperson When we amplify these elements with Consistency, that’s when the Authority really comes. One of the dangers of growth is that people like to hedge their bets. Multiple businesses are sometimes founded in the hopes that one of them will work. This can lead to overwhelm, and spreading yourself too thin. The best of the best will back one idea and make it work. BEST MOMENTS ’There are two types of mentor. The ones you pay for, and the ones who teach you throughout your life’ ‘It’s all about leverage’ ‘You can’t really change the world by yourself, but if you’re training others, you can change the world together’ ‘Be in front of their mind before they even know they have a problem’ ‘You need to back yourself to make things work’ ‘Keep it simple’ ‘Don’t destroy yourself by trying to over-scale too quickly’ VALUABLE RESOURCES   The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast Rob Stewart LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/robstewartglobal/?originalSubdomain=uk To take advantage of Rob’s special offer, go to www.robstewartglobal.com/authority-book www.robstewartglobal.com Assets For Freedom - https://www.facebook.com/groups/assetsforfreedom   ABOUT THE HOST Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2! The Key Areas You NEED to Leverage to Get The Lifestyle You Want

In this first Leveraged Lifestyle episode of the year Catherine asks; Are you living the leveraged lifestyle you want? If you think having a leveraged lifestyle is sitting on the beach every day then you have missed the point! Effective leveraging is systemising, automating and outsourcing so you can spend time on the higher-level tasks that will really optimise your business and life. Catherine brings clarity and understanding to what it really means to leverage your life and shares some great practical advice on how you can leverage in all areas of your life and achieve the lifestyle you want.   KEY TAKEAWAYS If you are leveraging across all areas of your life you should be looking at; Strengths – it’s all about playing to your strengths. Do what you do best and leverage the rest. Talent -  leverage your talent and experience through the content you create from social media, books and sharing your expertise. Brand - whether you have one now or not we are all creating our own brand through what we put out the into the world, it becomes your brand. People -  it’s vital to effectively leverage the whole team you create around you, your peers, power team, mentors and coaches. Money - invest your time and effort in assets that will create passive income. Put in the work so you don’t then have to put in the work Time - is finite but you can create assets that work for you beyond the time it took to create them. Use NETime to get back time. Knowledge - we all have knowledge and experience to share with the world. Only you are stopping you sharing your knowledge with the world. It could be in the form of a book or a podcast, get some information out there. Lifestyle – is about how you invest your time and being conscious of any time you waste. If you invest your time creating evergreen assets and passive income you will have more time to spend on creating memories with those who are important to you. Doing what you love – doing something that despite being challenging at times is what you enjoy and brings you fulfilment and satisfaction is something to hold on to. If you love what you do for the majority of the time then you have a leveraged lifestyle   BEST MOMENTS ‘I’m really clear about my strengths and leverage them effectively’ ‘We all have a brand because we are all unique with different values, experience and talents’ ‘It’s all about how you are putting it out there into the world’   VALUABLE RESOURCES TThe Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast  Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup  www.theviva.club  LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup  https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg  ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2!       ‘What does that mean and does that mean you need to love it 24/7’  This is my last episode of 2019 - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all yourLeveragers. In this episode Catherine discusses the pros and cons of making your hobby or something you love into your job. She also covers how you could do this.      KEY TAKEAWAYS  All the people I know who are doing their passion as the way they make income, they are some of the happiest and most fulfilled people I know and most are earning a very decent wage from it too.   You can make a business from almost anything now and you have the ability to reach the world and outsource the bits you don’t like for no or very low cost.   The internet has opened up so many opportunities, that it seems daft to be spending the majority of your waking hours something that you absolutely hateeveryday, when you could be putting that time into something you love.   If you love something, you’ll naturally want to put more time into it, you’ll dedicate hours beyond the normal work day to it, so why not find ways to monetise the thing you love, even if it always stays as a side income, hustle, job etc…  Accept there might be days when even the bit you do might not light you up 24/7 - but it damn well beats the alternative hands down.  I will be back on Wednesday 8th January with the first episode of 2020 - until then have a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and remember there is No better time than now to start creating your leveraged lifestyle.    BEST MOMENTS  ‘You are not going to love your passion every day of the week or every hour of the day’  ‘why not make the thing you love your source of income’  ‘You don’t have to do it all’  VALUABLE RESOURCES Christmas Gift for you all: www.catherineaturner.com  The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast  Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup  www.theviva.club  LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup  https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg     ABOUT THE HOST  Catherine Turner  Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2!  Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. Catherine is joined this week by her business partner and husband, Stephen, the “spreadsheet geek” and financial director of their jointly-owned businesses. In this edition, Catherine and Stephen were live with the community, who took the opportunity to ask about the pressing question of financial admin, and how it can be made easier, more secure and more efficient. Catherine and Stephen answered as many community questions as they could, and now you can hear those answers for yourself! KEY TAKEAWAYS Stephen’s experience in finance has seen him in roles such as management accountancy, corporate and systemisation. Part of his personal mission was to automate and systemise as many of his daily tasks as possible. Book-keeping can be outsourced to a virtual assistant in order to minimise the costs you pay to accountants. Accountants should really only be used for tax advice and end of year accounts submission. Monthly reports, bank reconciliations, client invoices, statements and everything day-to-day, should be handled by your virtual assistant, leaving you to perform the few tasks they can’t do. Depending on the types of tasks being handed off, you may need to find VAs with specific financial experience, such as book-keeping or accountancy. They don’t necessarily need to be full-time. For automation, Stephen recommends using Zapier to find out if any of your processes and workflows can be systemised, freeing up more time for you. Using LastPass is an effective way of protecting passwords and which also allows you to share access to team members without them having the ability to see the password itself. Developing a leveraged lifestyle for yourself is a constantly evolving mind-set. You will find new ways each day, in many different areas. BEST MOMENTS ‘He is kind of the man behind it all!’ ‘I married well!’ ’You can afford to do it at £3 an hour’ ‘I like it, it’s a bit geeky’ ‘Understanding what it means to have a leveraged lifestyle, to automate, is an ongoing skillset that you learn’ VALUABLE RESOURCES   The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast Zapier - https://zapier.com LastPass - https://www.lastpass.com    ABOUT THE HOST Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2! One of the best ways to consume content nowadays is through podcasts. Not only does it save time, but it also helps you grasp ideas easier since you hear the emotions in the conversations.  In this collaborative episode, Catherine is joined by the Keep It Real with Khadija Podcast host, who is none other than Khadija, to talk about the world of podcasting – from pre-planning to producing to publishing. They talk about how to scout guests, how to select the best VA, why people choose podcasts over radio, how to make a business thrive, and many more. There is also some unwritten podcasting etiquettes between podcasters which you might need to know. Then after the insightful discussion, Catherine plays Khadija’s Yes or No game at the end so listen in!  KEY TAKEAWAYS  As podcasters, where do Khadija and Catherine get their awesome guests?   Khadija, for one, used the VIVA Club (link below) to find the most reliable virtual assistant she will work with. Guests are then selected by them, the hosts, for the VA’s to contact them.   For Catherine, it also helps that she connects to most of the guests through social media platforms to get a chance to engage with them and tell them how your podcast can help them show how relevant they are.  Stay in touch with your guests (and other podcasters who also invited the guest). Plan out when the content (i.e. audio/video) will be published and make sure it won’t cross with the launch of his other podcast guesting’s. You don’t want to anger other podcasters while getting the maximum engagement for your episode as much as possible. In addition, your guests might also know someone who can also offer a fresh perspective related to your podcast.  Why do people prefer podcasts over radio nowadays? People love authenticity, the smooth informal flow of conversations. It’s easier to trust people who can be themselves easily.  You can’t too much pressure on yourself in growing your business. For most, the first business they’ve manage was more of a big business course—learning what to do and not to do, correcting mistakes, and so on.  BEST MOMENTS  “When you want to be successful, time is of the essence.”  “Podcasting is a natural fit for collaborations.”  “Everyone knows someone who knows one.”  “You can’t copyright knowledge.”  “Having a leveraged lifestyle for me is doing minimal work while having maximum money.”  VALUABLE RESOURCES  https://www.keepitrealwithkhadija.com/  Leveraged Lifestyle Facebook Community - bit.ly/llocfbgroup   The Very Important Virtual Assistant (VIVA) Club Facebook Group - VIVA Club  https://www.progressiveproperty.co.uk  I'm Worth More: Realize Your Value. “You only got 86,400 in a day, 1440 minutes in a day, use them!” – Neville Wright  Having owned the largest independent baby shop in the UK for a very long time, our guest Neville drops so much nuggets of wisdom in this episode. Neville has helped other businesses thrive, aside from sharing his expertise through his book, The Answer is Yes – Now What is the Question?, so the discussion went very smoothly. Some topics tackled were property vs retail, managing a nursery business, looking for your new business partner (lucky for him, his wife Marilyn is all he needs by his side in business, in sickness, and in health), incorporating a new system in your business, and many more.  Start tuning in today in the Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast.  KEY TAKEAWAYS  Teach the young ones how to value education instead of dictating a career path they should follow. Motivate them to believe in themselves and their passions, so they can pursue them on their own. Seeing them do what they want for their lives should be enough for you to remove all your worries and doubts.  Children adapt—in whatever environment you put them. Neville and his wife did nothing to make them ‘comfortable’ because they know they will be. In this manner also, you also incite independence, responsibility, and flexibility. Trust the process and trust them.   It was truly a blessing for finding not just a life partner but a business partner who complements the skills and talents that you already have. You can’t do everything… We’ve proven many times before that it’s better to concentrate on your forte than waste your resources on the mediocre stuff. If you have to hire someone to do the other tasks, then go for it.  In business, we need systems for the flow and efficiency of every operation. It also helps everyone to be accountable from the top-to-bottom levels of the work hierarchy. But systems shouldn’t be as rigid if we’re dealing with different people. It should be flexible depending on the situation, the culture, and the people involved.    BEST MOMENTS  “When you got these skills and great things but you can’t do some things—well, no one can do everything—you have to let other people do what you can’t do.”  “We got there… I have this question every single day and I would tell people how easy it was to build that incredible business.”  “It’s not all roses—that’s business.”  “Property is certainly not the same as retail.”  VALUABLE RESOURCES  Kiddicare - https://nevillewright.com/about-neville-wright-author-mentor-investor-property-developer/kiddicare/   The Answer is Yes – Now What is the Question? By Neville Wright - https://nevillewright.com/book-neville-wright/    Leveraged Lifestyle Facebook Community - bit.ly/llocfbgroup   The Very Important Virtual Assistant (VIVA) Club Facebook Group - VIVA Club  ABOUT THE GUEST  Neville Wright is a multimillionaire Investor, Property Developer, and Motivational Speaker. In this in-depth interview, she talks with Catherine about taking part in The Apprentice, women in business, listening to Tony Robbins as a teenager, and why she would have loved an A to Z of how to start a business when she began.  This is a great listen with loads of value, tune in     KEY TAKEAWAYS  What happens to people after the apprentice?  There are only a handful of us who are still in business or have followed through with their business ideas, the majority have gone back into their jobs because running a business is hard.  My biggest drive was if I don’t do it now when will I do it?  Coupled with ‘if I do what everyone else is doing then I will be as average as everyone else’ and I have a fear of being average.  What made you stand out?  My energetic character and positive personality coupled with my business mind and my unique aspect of being someone in the business of sport was key.  How have you kept the momentum?  I have been very active on social media. The reason I have become successful is ‘yes I’ve been on a TV show but I also have a 6 figure business’.  I want to grow my business but also diversify; to run entrepreneurial workshops, develop my public  speaking and create courses that allow others to start  businesses  If I had won I’d be spending 80 hours on my tennis business instead of 20 hours on that business with the other 60 hours on passion projects.  What is the key first hire for a business?  Its somebody to do the jobs that take up the time but have to be done. This allows you to move from the day to day activities and start working strategically growing the business.  There is nothing behind a good entrepreneur other than a good team.  What makes an entrepreneur?  If you have created yourself a lifestyle where you are in complete control and  you have a business where you are providing value with the team then you can say you are an entrepreneur.      BEST MOMENTS  ‘I thought if I don’t win the apprentice I’ll utilise the media as much as I can and its opened up lots of opportunities but only because I’ve made that happen’  ‘You’ve got to find that fire in yourself’  ‘ Anyone can talk but have they got something to talk about?’  ‘So glad I didn’t win because the business plan I submitted was the wrong one’     VALUABLE RESOURCES  Sabrina Stocker website  Sabrina Stocker Instagram  Sabrina Stocker LinkedIn  The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast  Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup  www.theviva.club  Leveraged Lifestyle Summit VIP Priority Notification List: bit.ly/llsummit2019  LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup  https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg  Ideal Media: www.ideal-collective.com/socialagency  Women Building Wealth Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/993747404052781/      ABOUT THE HOST  Catherine Turner  Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2!  Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs. Being Yourself And Why That Matters – with The Apprentice 2019’s Thomas Skinner

This week, Catherine meets The Apprentice 2019 contestant Thomas Skinner, one of this year’s most popular contestants, who’s charmed the nation with his down-to-earth personality and quick-witted business solutions. Thomas is the owner of The Fluffy Pillow Company, a burgeoning empire supplying beds and pillows to those in search of comfort. He joins Catherine this week for a truly unique conversation covering everything from what life on set is really like, his humble beginnings, the lessons he’s learned from Alan Sugar and his fellow contestants, the places and people who provide him with inspiration, his tantalising idea for a podcast,  and the one thing he’d change about the world if he had one wish. KEY TAKEAWAYS Thomas didn’t even apply for The Apprentice. His application was sent in by his girlfriend, and Thomas didn't expect to get very far. But his natural charm appealed to producers, who ended up insisting that he appear on the show. People don’t consider the fact that while you’re on The Apprentice, you aren’t earning. You are living, isolated, in the house, and cannot have any contact with the outside world. You have to make sure your business is taken care of while you’re gone. Tom is a market trader, who began selling at a very young age. His first job was a paper round, and he was inspired by his father to keep going. He now has his own company, and his own brand. Thomas aspires to making The Fluffy Pillow Company a household name, and a brand recognised by the public as one of quality and value. Alan Sugar has been a huge inspiration to Thomas since his time on the show. Alan Sugar is self-made, honest, and most importantly, successful.  Thomas sees each day, and each challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. Seeing the world, and life, this way, help to turn each negative into a positive, and keep Thomas hungry. Of all the problems Thomas could fix, he would rid the world of cancer. While the world is watching Thomas on The Apprentice, no-one realises that in real life, he is facing personal tragedy. Two weeks ago, he lost his grandmother to cancer. Play to your strengths, love what you do, and if you can keep doing that, then you’ve cracked it. If working makes you happy, and you get satisfaction from it, then by all means keep doing it. On the other hand, if you feel as though you could be doing more, then maybe you’re an entrepreneur, but you don't know it. BEST MOMENTS ‘It don’t make no sense, does it?’ ‘I’m saying it exactly how it is’ ‘I’ve had stalls. I’ve ducked and dived my whole life’ ‘I was just myself, you know what I mean?’ ‘Don’t tell Louis Vitton, we’ll get in trouble!’ ‘Every day I can learn something new’ ‘I lost my nan two weeks ago to cancer’ ‘Crimewatch is on again, you’re on it!'   VALUABLE RESOURCES   The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast The Fluffy Pillow Company - https://thefluffypillowcompany.com/pages/about-us Thomas Skinner Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/iamtomskinner/?hl=en Thomas Skinner Twitter - https://twitter.com/iamtomskinner?lang=en     ABOUT THE HOST Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2! Leadership is often perceived as a skill only for people who are at the highest ranks within a business. However in this episode Catherine explains how you can be a leader at any level. She also covers the importance of having a different view on creating leaders and how it can benefit you.   KEY TAKEAWAYS One of the key parts of going for in an interview is feeling confident, feeling your best and looking your best. Empower someone else to become a leader of your project and let them lead the project. You should still give your ideas and be included but allow someone else to lead. Being a leader can also empower other people to create their own projects and that’s what leadership’s about. They may seem like another competitor but you’ve created another leader which is amazing. You can also do collaborations with them rather than viewing them as a competitor. Leaders can be people on all levels of a business, not just the top. Push to be a leader no matter what level you’re on.   BEST MOMENTS ‘The leader is steering the ship’ ‘Don’t just stop at your end target’. ‘Cooperation can bring power to what you do’.   VALUABLE RESOURCES Thrive Global 4 Ways a Digital Detox Changes Your Body and Mind Tim Ferriss The Not-To-Do List  The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup www.theviva.club Leveraged Lifestyle Summit VIP Priority Notification List: bit.ly/llsummit2019 LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg Ideal Media: www.ideal-collective.com/socialagency Women Building Wealth Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/993747404052781/    ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2! Digital Detox - Are You Doing This Regularly?

‘Tim Ferriss does it every Saturday apparently, Arianna Huffington recommends it for your body and mind and Gary Vee has said he’s considered doing it for a whole year!’  If you find yourself constantly scrolling through social media or under pressure to respond to messages immediately 24/7 then it’s time to think about a ‘digital detox’. Technology is great as long as we are in control of it and it does not rule our lives. Catherine has just undertaken an enforced digital detox and in this episode shares what it was like and the reasons how everyone should be doing it regularly.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Why? My energy and mental health had taken a dip and one of the reasons was the pressure of being on social media. I wanted to be present for my children and family, not constantly reaching for my phone. With a poor signal and no wi-fi attempting any work would be frustrating. There was nothing potentially urgent that would require my immediate attention. I have a personal VA who can access my social media and comment if required. Our business accounts are all managed by VAs who filter and only forward what requires personal attention. My husband has been teasing me about constantly being on my phone and I wanted to challenge myself to see how little I really needed to use it. I realised I was, without purpose mindlessly scrolling through social media when I could have been doing something more productive. What does a digital detox look like? It can be a few hours or a few days and be partial or total. You could keep your phone with you and only use certain aspects such as the camera or maps or you could complete a zero-digital access with no Netflix, Play-station or Alexa. There are multiple benefits anyone can get from a digital detox – you can reconnect with family and friends, start a new hobby or just get some great sleep. Getting the most from your digital detox Plan ahead – let family, clients, friends know you are doing this Make the most of it – doing something physical such as swimming can help your creative thought processes Responding to enquiries - If your business requires responses to enquiries then use a VA  to do this. Note the benefits – this will encourage you to repeat the experience regularly.   BEST MOMENTS ‘There are multiple benefits from taking a digital detox and I will now be making it part of my  weekly routine’     ‘I would not recommend that anyone comes off social media completely especially if they have a new business’ ‘The constant bombardment of messages coming in from social media across my devices’ ‘I swim weekly and you can’t have a phone in the pool it’s fantastic, I leave buzzing with creative ideas’   VALUABLE RESOURCES Thrive Global 4 Ways a Digital Detox Changes Your Body and Mind Tim Ferriss The Not-To-Do List  The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup www.theviva.club Leveraged Lifestyle Summit VIP Priority Notification List: bit.ly/llsummit2019 LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg Ideal Media: www.ideal-collective.com/socialagency Women Building Wealth Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/993747404052781/    ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2! Today’s episode is all about linking your ‘why’ to your outcomes so that you can get the life you want to have and the leveraged lifestyle you deserve. if your ‘why’ is to spend more time with loved ones or to travel then creating a business that requires you to be there every day doesn’t make sense. Listen back to other episodes of the Leveraged Lifestyle podcast  to hear from people who’ve built businesses to suit the lifestyles they want – fulfilling their ‘why’ This is great podcast and a nudge to help anyone to think carefully about the ‘why’ and what they really want from their leveraged lifestyle, listen in.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Some can be clear from the beginning whilst others change trajectory when their ‘why’ becomes better defined. Different people create different businesses to suit them. It’s important to find the business that matches your ‘why’ to allow you to have the lifestyle you want. What if you want to create a ‘play bucket’? - if this is what you are aiming for workout how much money you want to generate and then what you will need in output to achieve this, what profit levels do you need? Linking the outcomes to the why is vital to ensure you create a business that is right for you. It’s vital to have goals and targets in place that link back to the why otherwise you are not going to have financial freedom. There is financial security, financial freedom and finally financial opulence but you can’t reach the opulence level without moving through the other levels. What does financial freedom mean to you? What’s the point of it all, if it means changing your business you need to do this so you are on the right path, heading in the direction of your ‘why’.   BEST MOMENTS ‘You’re not going to have everything perfect when you start up but it’s a great thing to be thinking about when you first start your business’ ‘What’s the point in your ‘why’  being able to take time away from the business if you have no money to spend and enjoy yourself’ ‘Why did I start this business? what do I want? what is my why?’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup www.theviva.club Leveraged Lifestyle Summit VIP Priority Notification List: bit.ly/llsummit2019 LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg Ideal Media: www.ideal-collective.com/socialagency Women Building Wealth Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/993747404052781/     ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2! ‘ You don’t need to reinvent the wheel its more about building a kick-ass brand’ Lauren Tickner has one of the world’s top 10 business podcasts, Impact School, she’s known for her highly actionable free content, and for helping people create profitable online businesses. In this absorbing episode, which has something for everyone, Lauren and Catherine discuss building a brand, loving  the online space and impact you can make on other people with what you do, listen in and enjoy.   KEY TAKEAWAYS I was very unhappy in my corporate life, the thing that made me happy was my social media and I was building a following. I always knew I wanted to do well and be successful but I thought that to have your own business you had to be an inventor. Having your own business For me, it’s the freedom I hate people telling me what to do. In my corporate job, I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t work from home – where I could do it faster without the travel or distractions of others. Building a brand online When building a business online you need to be solving a particular problem for a particular person. It’s about communicating very clearly how that product or service is going to change that person’s life. In your industry, you need to know your niche, the problem and the solution. What vehicle are you going to use solve the problem? there are different solutions and you need to choose the one that suits you best. You want to make sure people get the fastest results with the services you are offering. Building the brand is more important than building a physical or tangible product. Rebranding Making sure your brand is easy to understand is vital so your audience doesn’t become exhausted. When I  complete a rebrand I take down everything from the previous brand otherwise you can become attached and use up valuable time going over earlier content changing intros and the brand name. Leveraging and outsourcing Taking clients through a specific set of steps is the most sensible way for coaches instructors. When you have developed a system that works it can be effectively used repeatedly. You can provide personal touchstones but it doesn’t need to be radically different for each client. I’ve been able to leverage my business by creating a repeatable process that everyone goes through. We have been able to do this because of our core messaging - we help people start high ticket online coaching companies and having a very clear message ensures we attract a very specific group. Assign responsibility not tasks All of the people in my team are contractors and I assign responsibilities, not tasks. You need to know what people are motivated by and use this to drive things forward. When you assign people a task they just feel like a cog in a bigger machine when you assign responsibility, people take on a level of ownership. Making an impact For me, its hearing about how I’m changing people’s lives I’m not really motivated by money It’s my impact on other people that really matters. I always want to be better than I was the day before, you can change your life if you have intentional action.   BEST MOMENTS ‘I’m not an employable person’ ‘As the business owner, you have to hold your ground’ ‘Just pick the thing you do the best and are passionate about’ ‘People don’t aim at  a specific person or solving a particular problem’ ‘I used to take it all way too seriously before I separated my business and personal brand’   VALUABLE RESOURCES The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup www.theviva.club Leveraged Lifestyle Summit VIP Priority Notification List: bit.ly/llsummit2019 LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg Ideal Media: www.ideal-collective.com/socialagency Women Building Wealth Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/993747404052781/    ABOUT THE GUEST Lauren Tickner has one of the world’s top 10 business podcasts, Impact School. How much do we need to know about the people we’re in business with? How compatible do we need to be?  In this episode, Catherine discusses her own experiences in choosing the right people to go into business with, and the qualities she recommends you look for in the people with whom you’ll be sharing your professional life. KEY TAKEAWAYS Catherine and her first business partner, her mother, were a little too similar in terms of personality and strengths. This was not the required formula. Business work better when each partner has different strengths and weaknesses. Getting along with like-minded, similar people to yourself, can be attractive. but it can cause tension later on, as you’ll both want to do the same tasks, and put off the same tasks. Similar values that are core to your business are far more important. Viewpoints on customer service and value, creativity and inspiration are necessities. I'm Suffering Today...And it's ok Not to be ok [Mental Health Special]

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 26, 2019 8:41

I'm really struggling today. If I'm honest with myself, it started a couple of weeks ago. I've taken myself off to the doctor's today & am getting a full set of blood works done to see what needs a boost. The trouble is, with a lack of energy & drive and just about keeping it together for my kids, the build up of tiredness starts to affect my mental health & from experience it can go down hill fast. That's why I seek help as soon as possible, why I (now) tell my husband, because having suffered with clinical depression in the past I never want it to get to that point ever again. I don't write this for pity or sympathy, but to show it's ok not to be ok. But it's not ok to suffer in silence, because I tried that & that didn't work. I write this for all the people who can't write this right now, who just want the ground to swallow them up, because I've been there too. When you feel like you don't have a voice & your screaming on the inside, but nothing's coming out. I write this for all the people who feel ashamed, like a failure, like there is something wrong with them, because I've felt all that too. I also write this for all the people who don't know what to say to the loved one going through something similar, who want to 'fix' them, help them. The biggest help is just being there, showing up & listening when that person is ready to talk. When I first sought help for mental health issues when I was 21 I would never have been able to write this, share this, be so open. So I do this also for 21 year old me, to say it's ok, it does get better. Not every day is sunshine & roses, but what you go through makes you the person you are going to be and that's pretty darn good! I am extremely grateful for the life I have, my kids, my husband, my friends. I know others are not so lucky. But I do know this, everyone has a reason to live for, whether it's obvious or not, please know you are valued, loved, unique & wonderful. So do reach out, show up, send a message to let that person know you are thinking of them. Not because it's mental health awareness day/week/month, but because people are suffering everyday. Mental health issues touch everyone & because nothing is more important. To all my family & friends currently suffering, I love you, I understand & it will be ok, I promise.      ABOUT THE HOST Catherine Turner, your host of Leveraged Lifestyle. In this episode of the Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast, Catherine talks to Dillon Dhanecha, a trader and a philanthropist on the importance of doing both: making money and making a difference in the world. KEY TAKEAWAYS Dillon’s family were refugees from Uganda in the UK. His roots always remind him of the privilege he’s experiencing right now. He never forgets that there are people who still have it at worst and that even his little help will bring a big difference in their lives. Don’t allow any money problems or relationship problems question your self-worth. There will always be challenges—they are part of your learning, your development, and your success. If we allow those bits of mistakes bring imbalance, then we can never arrive to what we want to achieve. To make a dent in someone’s life, you got to have all the means necessary. Here, money plays a big role on how to reach them. Aiming to be wealthy to help other people, aside from being financially free, is very fulfilling. What does Dillon leverage inside his business? Aside from your expertise and knowledge, it’s important to be consistent—consistency is the key, especially when he was growing his trading academy. He sees to it he put out different courses, different choices for those who are interested. Dillon’s pieces of advice: Leverage your wealth as much as you can, as long as you can. Decide with your heart, execute with your brain. Do it all now, all at once, especially if it will create something sustainable. Who inspires Dillon? The global business owners who put the mission of serving other people at the centre of their business. Worst piece of advice Dillon got: not taking risks What one problem in this world would Dillon like to solve? He wants every single person in the world to have access to the first level in the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs so everyone can possibly achieve self-actualisation. BEST MOMENTS “Leveraging capital, to do it effectively, really needs a long view.” “When you’re doing well financially, you’re on top of the world.” “It’s okay to be growing in a way that there are down periods.” “You can’t make a difference without making money and you can’t make money without making a difference.” VALUABLE RESOURCES Leveraged Lifestyle Summit: ly/llsummit2019 Africa: Inspiring and be inspired: Dillon Dhanecha at TEDxEdges | TEDx Talks YouTube Mad Millionaire Method Beginner’s Class - https://www.madmillionairemethod.com/beginnersclass Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast – 12 Top Tips to Create Your Optimal Routine | Apple | Omny | Stitcher Leveraged Lifestyle Facebook Community - ly/llocfbgroup The Very Important Virtual Assistant (VIVA) Club Facebook Group - VIVA Club ABOUT THE GUEST Dillon Dhanecha Is self-inflicted poverty an abuse of first-world privilege? Does charity really begin at home? Or does it begin with those less fortunate than you? And where does being a MAD Millionaire feature in to a more socially-just planet? If you've ever grappled with the conflict between making money or making a difference, you'll love what Dillon Dhanecha has to share! Since returning from Rwanda on mission with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Dillon realised deep truth in his Father’s words "you can't help the poor by being poor” and in his Mother’s teachings that “privilege is a power never to be dismissed". Repeatedly giving away money that he didn't have, to people he thought needed it more than him, Dillon accrued £107,000 personal debt and was forced to return home with a bruised ego, empty wallet and heavy heart. On the long road home, he realised the choice ahead of him; continue to live in self-inflicted poverty or get strong and give strong to leave a lasting legacy. It was the right choice. In this interview, Dillon shares his personal experiences of what it takes to build a life filled to the brim with income, impact and influence. In his own words, you really can have your cake, eat it AND share it! With over 20 years experience as trader and philanthropist, Dillon also teaches other socially-minded individuals how to trade the markets and is on mission to create 10,000 MAD Millionaires over the next 10 years. How to Systemise, Outsource & Scale your Business - Live Talk at Birmingham PPN

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 5, 2019 62:15

In this live session at the Birmingham PPN event, Catherine explains in detail how to Systemise, Outsource and Scale your business effectively.  SOS will enable you to move to the next level and through effective leveraging concentrate on the highest income-generating tasks and doing what you want to do.  If you want to build a business that you can work on not in then this podcast is a must and offers something for every business entrepreneur, whether you are just about to begin your journey or are already on your way.     KEY TAKEAWAYS  SOS (Systemise, Outsource, Scale) has allowed us to work on the business, not in the business.  SYSTEMS  Email systems - Create a folder system that can be continued by your virtual assistant or PA when you employ one.  Post management - Divert post to UK post box where business post is scanned and filed to Dropbox, the VA can then send it to the relevant team member.  Expenses - Invest in an online accounting system such as ‘Zero’ and use the App on your phone. If you set up the categories from day one you can photograph the receipt and then dispose of it.  OUTSOURCING  There are different outsourcers but we effectively work with virtual assistants across a range of areas in our business.  Anything that is online-based can be dealt with by virtual assistants.  Most of our virtual assistants work full time on a 40-hour week  We work mostly with Pilipino VA’s they provide great value for money, have an excellent work ethic and the quality of work is very good.  We’ve helped hundreds of other businesses hire VAs and have created The VIVA (very important virtual assistant) Club to facilitate the effective hiring of virtual assistants.  To work out what you need a VA to do in your business, check your hours' tracker, your leveraged manage to-do list and identify the reoccurring tasks in your business.  It’s vital to be really specific about what you need a virtual assistant to do within your business.  Our experience with VAs over the last 5 years has taken our business to a scale and level we couldn’t have achieved otherwise.  SCALE  If you have hired VAs or team members you can concentrate on your important and highest IGTs ( income-generating tasks)  The next level only comes when you are able to work ON the business not IN the business and this is not possible without a team in place.  Keep monitoring and testing through the end of day reports, weekly reports and quarterly reviews and work with people who’ve scaled to where you want to be.    BEST MOMENTS  ‘We’ve automated the process to make finding the VA you need for your business super easy’  ‘For us, she is integral to our business and she loves being an important part and making a difference’  ‘They are in our business day to day and know it really well, we encourage feedback’     VALUABLE RESOURCES  The Leveraged Lifestyle Podcast  Leveraged Lifestyle Community: bit.ly/llocfbgroup  www.theviva.club  Leveraged Lifestyle Summit VIP Priority Notification List: bit.ly/llsummit2019  LLOM - Life Leverage Online Masterclass bit.ly/ctfbgroup  https://www.turnerinvest.co.uk/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGS2wM9QEqg  Ideal Media: www.ideal-collective.com/socialagency  Women Building Wealth Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/993747404052781/      ABOUT THE HOST  Catherine Turner  Catherine is an iTunes No.1 podcast host of Leveraged Lifestyle, entrepreneur, businesswoman, an Inspirational Speaker, world record holder, Co-Director of Ideal-Collective.com and a mum of 2!  Catherine quit being an employee in 2013, after working more than 50+ hours on average a week, over 3 jobs.
