You strain and pull to tension until you are both pulling together.    THOUGHT #1 WAITING ON GOD PUTS US INTO ALIGNMENT WITH HIS PERFECT WILL   THOUGHT #2  Waiting means that we give God the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he is doing   THOUGHT #3 Waiting on God increases my strength   Waiting is like holding a heavy weight… statically… it's more than you can bench, but you can hold it. It resets the RAS and CNS… and pretty soon you can handle it.    Do you know why prayer meetings are not popular because it's all about waiting! Comparison Detox: Author Angela Scott Helps Us Find our God-given Gifts

Imagine Yourself Podcast

How often do you compare yourself with others? Most of us do it way too often, thanks in part to social media. Comparison can be harmful to your mental and emotional health, leading to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. It can also cause jealousy, envy, and a lack of appreciation for yourself and others. You may have heard the quote “Comparison is the thief of joy.” It can also be the thief of dreams. Our guest, author Angela Scott said it almost stole hers. Through faith, friends and fierce honesty with herself, Angela was able to face down comparison. In this episode we learned so much about what we're calling “Comparison Detox.” Angela Scott is the author of Yearning: Daily Encouragement for Remaining Hopeful as you Wait . It's a truly inspiring devotional for the seasons of waiting that we all go through, but it almost didn't happen. Angela had to push aside her fear of not being up to the task, especially when she saw the progress of those who were more experienced and already successful. Once she realized that she needed to “run her own race” and trust God's timing, she found both peace and the courage to move forward.  Then by opening up to others, she also got help from those she called "purpose sisters." Angela told us, “There is enough room for us all. I felt like God just kept saying, run YOUR race. Stop looking at what this person is doing. Let them run their race."  We all have unique gifts and talents and there is room for everyone to be successful. It doesn't matter what your dream is or what stage you are in life. It doesn't matter if you're going after your dream for the first time or the hundredth time. Every time you begin again, you begin with new knowledge.  We think Angela's story will both bless you and give you some practical tips for escaping the comparison trap. It may also open your eyes to how to reach your goals AND enjoy the journey that you are on. Remember, nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). Say a prayer and ask God what He wants to show you. We hope you'll click play for some inspiration. Angela Scott on InstagramAngela Scott on YouTubeBuy on Amazon: Yearning: Daily Encouragement for Remaining Hopeful as you Wait For more info on IMAGINE YOURSELF with Lanee Blaise and Sandy Kovach or to contact us, visit imagineyourselfpodcast.comJoin the conversation on our FACEBOOK, TWITTER or INSTAGRAM pages. Before Jesus leaves the earth, He spends a considerable amount of time clarifying His COMING BACK. This is in a substantial piece of Scriptural Real Estate called the Olivet Discourse. It teaches, warns and reassures about His return and about all the craziness that is going to happen.Yup. Just crazy. Woes in the World. Woes for Christians. Woes in the family. The details are a little scary, even terrifying if you miss the good parts. The good part, the best part as I read today was the PRESERVATION of RELATIONSHIP for the believer. In many ways, things don't change for the believer. If anything, they get BETTER. So God warns about all the noise, but reassures and even enhances His PRESENCE with us. He's gonna give us a witness and arguments that have UNWITHSTANDABILITY. Bingo. You might get killed during this time, but you are not going to PERISH. He's got this. And He's got YOU as You got this; as you go through this. Listen as you Wait FOR the One WITH the One.Hey, now that we are in THE GREAT WEEK, consider a more extensive bible study. Here's one I recommend. ;-)https://www.amazon.com/Great-Week-Bible-Study-Jesus/dp/1721095373/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=the+great+week+bible+study&qid=1614603611&sr=8-1

The Two Gay Geeks have a chat with Director Emma Tammi, whose directorial debut film, The Wind will have a special screening at The Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles and be released in theaters and on VOD April 5th. Have a listen and look for the film when it comes to your area.   About Emma Tammi Emma Tammi is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles, whose most recent documentary films include Election Day (EPIX / Blumhouse) and Fair Chase (iTunes/Amazon). THE WIND marks her directorial debut of a narrative feature. Tammi is the Co-Founder of Mind Hive Films, and has produced content for clients such as Anonymous Content, Apple, Universal Music, Vogue, and MTV. Born and raised in New York City, and the daughter of two actors, she grew up in the theatre world. Tammi has worked under a handful of great directors, including Robert Altman, Mel Brooks and Susan Stroman. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University. About The Wind An unseen evil haunts the homestead in this chilling, folkloric tale of madness, paranoia, and otherworldly terror. Lizzy (Caitlin Gerard) is a tough, resourceful frontierswoman settling a remote stretch of land on the 19th-century American frontier. Isolated from civilization in a desolate wilderness where the wind never stops howling, she begins to sense a sinister presence that seems to be borne of the land itself, an overwhelming dread that her husband (Ashley Zukerman) dismisses as superstition. When a newlywed couple arrives on a nearby homestead, their presence amplifies Lizzy’s fears, setting into motion a shocking chain of events. Masterfully blending haunting visuals with pulse-pounding sound design, director Emma Tammi evokes a godforsaken world in which the forces of nature come alive with quivering menace.   In our second segment we chat about and give our thoughts on seeing Captain Marvel a second time (still no spoilers). < BUILD YOUR OWN CASTLE > When I was 12 I remember walking into a dinner theatre place, {empty} resume in hand, ready to apply for a position. I was an aspiring performer and I wanted to be able to study professional actors — my 12 yr old brain thought for sure that meant cleaning tables, and serving high class folk coffee. They had the manager COME OUT to talk to me because I was underage to work at the time without a guardian present. I told them It was a week before my bday, and I wanted the job BAD. I had no car, I was just going into high school and I was 120% sure I was going to be known world wide (still know ;) ) I even took extra shifts setting tables so I could watch the tech rehearsal. The thing is: This was all I had to plug into at the time to pursue my dream, I didn’t know better. My family was a football family, my parents ran two businesses, and here’s their daughter at 8 years old asking for an agent so she can apply to be on the Disney channel, and begging her mom at 13 to drive her to work on the weekends because she wanted to study how to be ‘professional’ in the theatre scene and hopefully get to know people. Not to mention I was also the kid who had her monologue as Lady M stashed behind the racks at her retail job at 17 so when she was in the fitting rooms, she could practice her scansion. I was never one to wait my turn — actually I don’t believe that’s even a thing. I didn’t sit around and wait to be picked for casting. I auditioned for shows and when I wasn’t cast, I beefed up my resume with student work, collaborations, and by spending my nights at the university until 11 pm at rehearsals for multiple shows. Now, I don’t wait for no-body still. When I wasn’t picked to speak on podcasts I applied for, I built my own. When I had a local company never get back to me on running a workshop, I created my own. I have a desire to speak at retreats all around the world, it’s happening, but for now, I am hosting my own in April. You don’t have to wait your turn. Ever. You don’t have to hover around the platform, waiting to take your thrown. Build your own damn thrown. > Claim. What’s. Yours. Right. Now. < Stop waiting to be supported & support yourself. You are brave enough You are strong enough You are powerful enough If someone doesn’t hand you the Mic, go out and build your own stage. >> if you apply to teach a workshop and you don’t get a yes — build your own. >> don’t get called to speak on that podcast — build your own. >> if you desire to speak at a retreat — host your own. >> if you want to create a program — MAKE. IT. HAPPEN. Never. EVER. Wait For someone to hand you what you want, it’s time to go out and claim it.
