The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted routine for everyone -- including health and fitness regimens. As the world starts to reopen, Kelly and Maria share tips for getting back in a fitness routine and a mindset to be your healthiest self following quarantine and stay-at-home orders. Tune in for six actionable tips for success.   Contact Kelly and Maria at hello@championsmojo.com. Episode Topics and Mentions Coronavirus COVID-19 Anxiety Anxiety eating Health and Life coaching Comfort eating Peanut M&Ms ChocZero chocolate (zero sugar) Lays Ruffle Potato Chips Olives Goal setting Motivation Routine Tips for Losing the Quarantine 10 Start by asking yourself “What am I doing right?” with health, fitness and overall wellness. State your desired goal. Be specific, measurable and have parameters. Remember that the goal should be something you should have power over.  Discover your motivating factor. Why do you want to change? If that “why” is not a 9 or 10 on an importance factor, then you aren’t motivated enough.  Create an anchor. An anchor is something that reminds you and connects you to your goal.  Clear the clutter from your life. You need to find space in your life for something new or a new habit. This can be literal or figurative. Write out two or three action steps (maximum) to start. Start with small goals -- the bigger the change, the smaller the steps you need to start out with.  Quote of the Week “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.” -- Unknown Subscribe to the Champion's Mojo podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Play.  Have something you want to share with us? Did you know there’s a whole world of yarn out there that many of you have never played with? Most knitters I know use sheep’s wool but there are so many other fibers out there that offer a world of things to try. Before you roll your eyes and think “oh no, not cotton” just remember that just like you’d never judge all sheep’s wool by that one scratchy sweater that Aunt Tilda made you twenty years ago, not all cotton feels like that scratchy dish cloth. There’s also bamboo, silk, yak, alpaca, tencel, seacell, rose fiber, camel, acrylic, nylon, rayon, soy, mohair, angora, the list goes on. From gorgeous hand-dyed soft cotton to big box store acrylic there’s a range of price points and each fiber has its own interesting properties. Blends are a joy to work with! For this month’s interception, find a yarn that does not contain sheep. Not sure what to make? The sky’s the limit, but the advanced pattern search on Ravelry allows you to search by fiber type and will give you lots of ideas. And for the record, yes, you really can knit a beautiful stranded color work sweater out of cotton, like the two I wore to Rhinebeck this year. Happy knitting! To be eligible to win Complete a project of at least 100 yards that does not contain any sheep’s wool. Other things I keep in mind: Your past is your teacher not your fortune teller (what can you learn from previous attempts, failures etc) What can/what do I need to cut out? We often need to prioritize our goal over other less important things. Get clear about that up front. Think ahead to what challenges you'll face and think about how to get around that. Make a list of my fears. Writing them down helps! Be ok with failure. Learn from it and move on. If I miss one day or one workout or one healthy meal, get right back on track at the next possible opportunity. "Growth is not in perfection, but in quickening your recovery time when you inevitably act contrary to your highest interests." – Neil Strauss How I Track Progress Weekly Evernote Note. List Quarterly, Monthly and Weekly Goals at the top. Then start a To-Do list for the week. The "to-do's" I add can be removed, moved to the next week or completed as I see fit. Plan each week on Sunday, look at the calendar and plot out my open time. Val’s husband’s response to Sawyer when hearing about it was, “Fuck Brooklyn, she’s probably in her room picking her nose.” After more rude comments the following day, Sawyer repeated this to Brooklyn and got written up by her teacher. QUESTION Inside of your “stand up for you” moments, why is it so important for you to have those “fuck you” moments? Point #2: Clarity vs Chaos It’s so important to have exact, clear paths and systems inside of your business, otherwise, you run into chaos, misunderstandings, and confrontations. It’s easier to push things off onto others rather than having those direct, hard conversations where you get to stand inside of your power and value your worth. QUESTION How clear are the systems inside of your business and family?   Point #3: Blowing Your Top? Coach Val: In reality, it’s not about yelling and screaming, it’s about having a conversation about the facts, feelings, and details in order to be crystal clear. Coach Ani: If you are not able to have a direct conversation with others, nothing is ever going to get solved. Your feelings will bubble up, fester, and get 100% worse. QUESTION What happens when you keep putting off talking about something? Point #4: The Power of  No Part of standing in your power is not giving in to what a client says they want when, in your experience and heart of hearts, you know it’s not in their best interest. Your opinion as a professional is valued and trusted. You stand in your power as a professional when you guide your clients with confidence and certainty, while at the same time validating their feelings. QUESTION How do you feel when you stand in your power as a professional?   Point #5: Go to Battle Coach Val: Anytime you absolutely know something is right and will benefit everyone, that’s when you have to stand in your power, go to war, and fight for it. By course-correcting, having conversations and adjusting things, these serve to validate you and give you the strength to keep moving forward. It has a positive trickle effect in every aspect of your life. QUESTION Where in your world do you know you need to have a conversation that you’ve been putting off? Quote of the Week: “Nothing resolves itself by not doing anything; there has to be some sort of a solution. Have that conversion, stand with integrity, and move forward with clarity.” –Valerie Plunk “At the end of the day, one of the reasons why you’re avoiding conversations is because you have a story in your head that says this: If you say something, everything is going to go sideways and be a fucking shit show. As you open up and move forward, you will be surprised by the outcome.” –Anianne Rivera

Preroll    Hi! Welcome to the Vegans With Typewriters Podcast, Episode 002 for Tuesday April 18, 2017. My name is Phae and this week I have a short show. I visited Yalla Yalla in the suburban hellscape that is Orleans, plus some thoughts on stocking a pantry. Feedback and Follow-Up - NoneSegment 1 - Yalla Yalla Bakery2010 Trim Road, Unit 5Orleans, Ontario613-837-6300http://www.yallayallabakery.comYalla Yalla is a pretty standard Lebanese Halal joint. Above average. Clean, bright, and fast. I like Shawarma King on Bank Street better, but this place is a solid 4. Quick Tip - Quick and Dirty Chicken Veg Soup    The basis for this week’s quick tip comes from something I discovered by actually reading the package. I usually keep a box of Lipton’s Chicken Noodle Soup Mix in the pantry for days that I’m sick and all I want to do is lie on the couch watching YouTube and eating soup, or, when I want something boneheaded simple and quick to top up my lunch. The tip on the side of the box said to make the soup as per instructions, but then dump in a half cup of salsa for a different flavour. Being the adventurous type, and because I always have salsa in stock, I tried it and it was pretty good. My next thought was - what else could I put in with it? So, for todays experiment, I cooked the soup as per instructions, added the salsa, and then added  cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, egg noodles, and rice. This was all eyeball measurements. I let it simmer for about 20 minutes while I cleaned the kitchen than, at the end, took the soup off the heat and added one teaspoon of sweet light miso. The result was amazing. You can start with tis base and riff on it so many times without getting tired. Next times, I’m going to add chunks of grilled chicken to the mix. Segment 2 - Stocking Up    Why do I store food?        - Because Canada. We have winter        - Sometimes I just don’t feel like shopping        - People get sick        - Sometimes I’d like to use the grocery money for eating out or something    What do I store?        - “Store what you eat, eat what you store” - Jack Spiriko        - Pasta has a virtually infinite shelf life and packs a lot of calories into a small space        - Canned veg/sauces/dried soup        - Deep Freeze for bread, butter, flour, sugar. Not just meat.      How do I do it?        - Copy Canning (TM)        - Strategic buying        - Loblaws Click and CollectFind of the Week - Nothing this week. Outtro     Contact us        I want to hear your quick tips, your finds and your comments. Now he educates other entrepreneurs on how to launch - and he has sort of a non-traditional approach focused on execution. In this episode I talk to Eli about how to overcome the stifling effects of perfectionism and fear of failure. Quote of the Week: “Nothing holds you back more than your own insecurities.” ~ Anonymous For this week's Biz Hack and past episodes, head over to SuccessLab.fm.
