Your Audio Curators, Jas and Sher accepted an offer to go on a private ‘Haunted’ tour of the infamous ‘Man & Nature Museum’ with listener Brian Langlotz. Here Brian shows them where he has heard voices of ghost children laughing and running through the museum galleries, Mannequins moving and deceased sailors remaining on post in the afterlife on the docked Nonsuch vessel. Many odd and unexplained occurrences have been rumored to happen throughout the years in the Museum. The hauntings and shadows that are witnessed have even been captured on security footage. What is the root cause of this? Opening in July 1970 (the Planetarium previously opened in May of 1968) brought a promise for the Museum to educate and bring people together to learn, and encourage discovery for all young and old. However with the Collections, clothing and artifacts it has seemed to invite a different level of participation to the galleries. Is it the artifacts that seem to be brought to life? Were some of these donated possessions actually haunted? Or are their owners still ‘attached’ to them? Do the taxidermy animals still embody the spirits that were thought to be left behind? Why do objects move on their own and ethereal voices seem to linger in the galleries? Pianos play on their own? Dolls are heard to cry & laugh? After we hear the first hand tales on Jas & Sher’s guided tour …..you decide if The Man and Nature is haunted……Winnipeg Playwright Brian Langlotzs is no stranger to the local theatre scene. To his credit he has been a Stage Manager with multiple groups such as NKCP Dramatic Theatre and Broken Record Productions. As well as been the Stage Manager for last ten years with local Country band The Wilkinson’s. Brian has also been involved with many acting roles in television shows, multiple commercials including larger movie productions. The love of the theatre has brought Brian to his current role as President and Founder of the Parachuting Camel Productions, through which he will be debuting his first official play, ‘Letters’ at this years 2019 Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Please listen to a sampling of ‘Letters’ at the end of this episode.

In this live episode the HUNKS are joined by Kerry Ipema, all the way from New York city for the 2017 Winnipeg Fringe Festival! We kick things off by getting to know Kerry and her love of the city so nice they named it twice. Then Quinn Learns about a 5 assholed snail, a nude, bath loving Winston Churchill, and Henry VIII’s four ‘Grooms of Stool’. We riff on the repeat WotW: Akimbo and talk some sinister conspiracy theories. Next, in ‘Breaking Kerry’, we travel via our Hot Coffee Time Machine to the year 2067, where a very practical Kerry teams up with some talking wolves and a wet Cyborg Winston Churchill to become ‘Kerry, Mother of Bears’ (the football team, not actual bears). Wrapping things up with Two Truths & A Lie, Kerry takes us on a golden journey through her tales of pee-related personal adventures. Can you handle the truth? We kick things off by filling Craig in on some special Winnipeg secrets. Dana breaks down some special sauces and we hear about the high school origins of ‘Good Game’. Tim Learns about a freestylin’ Beethoven, ancient Egyptian calendar hijinks, and we get Argy-Pargy with the world of the week. Winner of the Critics’ Choice award at the 2016 Hamilton Fringe Festival, The Bathtub Girls is inspired by the first known case of sibling matricide in Canada. The murder took place in 2003, Mississauga, Ontario. Two sisters, egged on by their friends, drowned their mother in their family home’s bathtub, and expressed it to be a mercy killing. The play examines how three immigrants' determination to rapidly assimilate into a Canadian suburb led to the destruction of their family, and the reformation of the girls’ lives. The play is a combination of movement-based story-telling, direct address, and verbatim, folkloric, and original writing.https://kairostheatrecollective.com/ Instagram: kairos_collectiveNatalia Bushnik Natalia is an actor and storyteller originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is a founding member of kairos.
