In today's episode we dive deep into the art of communication in long-term, non-monogamous relationships. We explore the nuances of radical honesty—when it's helpful, when it's too much, and how to balance truth with tact. From navigating attraction to others, to the infamous “chewer vs. spewer” dynamic, we unpack how our differing communication styles have evolved over the years. We share examples like late-night pillow talks, wardrobe critiques, and the vasectomy sample drop-off, all while highlighting the importance of timing, tone and intention.Women's RetreatBookings for my Women's Retreat in Yass, NSW, Australia from 17th-19th October 2025 are now open! Ceri interviews internationally acclaimed artist Catherine Yass, whose groundbreaking lens-based work pushes the boundaries of photography and film. The conversation explores her innovative techniques, including her distinctive method of layering negatives and positives, her relationship with architectural spaces, and her thoughts on time, failure, and resistance in art. This episode offers a fascinating glimpse into the mind of a Turner Prize nominee who continues to challenge conventional perspectives in contemporary art. KEY TAKEAWAYS Catherine discovered her signature blue colour through mistakes while learning to use a 5x4 camera, leading her to deliberately overlay negative and positive images to challenge the idea that photographs must represent reality exactly as we see it. Her early experiences cycling around a deteriorating swimming pool in Tower Hamlets while watching Canary Wharf being built shaped her understanding of architectural power dynamics and social inequality in London. Catherine views her deliberately slow working process with cumbersome equipment as a form of resistance, noting how the industrial revolution transformed time into a commodity that must be used efficiently. For the NHS Swimmers, she asked healthcare workers to perform the same swimming movements twice, creating a temporal doubling that she felt was crucial to avoid the work looking like an advertisement in a public space. Through her High Wire project, Catherine came to value the importance of failure when the performer couldn't complete the walk, realising that sometimes dreams are more valuable than their achievement. Having started by photographing rhinoceros at the zoo, Catherine's fascination with weight, structure and gravity has remained consistent throughout her career, from early sculpture to recent film works. She maintains her artistic freedom by teaching just enough to fund her studio, allowing her to pursue projects without complete dependence on art sales, which she's found can fluctuate dramatically. Her transition from making physical interventions in architecture to photographing spaces emerged from the practical reality that installations are temporary, leading her to document them with photography which then became its own form. BEST MOMENTS "The camera is very big player in it... It's quite like a third character in the room with you before you even start making." "I think through teaching you keep reading... there's a whole process of discussion and learning going on all the time, which is really rich." "Freedom isn't freedom if it treads on somebody else's freedom. So you have to protect people's freedoms." "I was interested in the idea of the subject not being whole, not being sort of complete or reliable or steady." "Slowing things down can be quite a resistance... working with that big camera makes you work in a very organised way." The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (09/26/2024): 3:05pm- New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on multiple federal charges, including wire fraud, bribery, and solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national. During a press conference on Thursday, U.S. Attorney in Manhattan Damian Williams summarized the 57-page indictment and alleged that Adams received roughly $100,000 in money, campaign contributions, first class flights, and hotel accommodations from Turkish government officials and businesses in exchange for political favors. 3:10pm- In December of 2023, New York City Mayor Eric Adams publicly criticized the Biden Administration's failed immigration policy. Is the federal indictment case brought against him revenge for that criticism? White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the Department of Justice operates independently from the White House. 3:30pm- Paul Pelosi Unloads $500k of Visa Stock…Right Before DOJ's Anti-Trust Lawsuit. Ariel Zilber of The New York Post writes: “Nancy Pelosi's husband unloaded more than $500,000 worth of Visa stock—less than three months before the credit card giant was slapped with federal antitrust charges, public documents show. Visa was hit with a lawsuit on Tuesday that alleged the company has illegally monopolized the debit card market—the culmination of a years-long review conducted by the Justice Department's antitrust unit…Meanwhile, Christopher Josephs, the tech entrepreneur who runs the ‘Nancy Pelosi Stock Tracker' on X, posted a screenshot of a congressional filing on July 3 which showed that the former House speaker's husband, Paul Pelosi, had sold 2,000 shares of Visa worth between $500,000 and $1 million.” You can read the full article here: https://nypost.com/2024/09/24/business/nancy-pelosis-husband-sold-500k-in-visa-stock-before-dojs-antitrust-suit/ 3:40pm- House Investigating If Zelensky Trip Was Intended To Benefit Kamala Campaign. Haley Strack of National Review reports: “Republicans on the House Oversight Committee launched an investigation on Wednesday to determine if the Biden administration misused taxpayer dollars to fly Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the U.S. to benefit Kamala Harris's presidential campaign. In letters to top Biden administration officials, committee chairman James Comer wrote that then-president Donald Trump faced similar accusations from Democrats in 2019 of trying to use Zelensky to benefit his campaign ‘despite a lack of any evidence of wrongdoing. Now, the Biden-Harris Administration is flying the same foreign leader on an American-taxpayer-funded flight to Pennsylvania, a battleground state for Harris's campaign,' Comer wrote.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/house-investigating-if-zelensky-trip-scheduled-to-benefit-kamala-harris-campaign/ The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: 4:00pm- Kamala Harris Stumbles Through Friendly Interview with MSNBC. Even The New York Times accused her of having “round about answers to open-ended questions” and concluded that she is yet to partake in a hard-hitting interview. 4:15pm- Dave McCormick— Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania & former Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. Bush Administration—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his ongoing campaign throughout Pennsylvania, receiving an endorsement from Philadelphia Firefighters' & Paramedics' Union Local 22, and his recent op-ed in The New York Post, “Falling down on antisemitism is another grim example of Sen.
