Tony Bacigalupo is a listener, a communicator, and a superhero when it comes to finding simple, elegant solutions to thorny problems. He works with leaders up and down the workforce roster to create amazing experiences, build community, and educate participants. This is the guy to call if you need event facilitation, introductions, sponsor shout-outs, and a plain old good uplifting experience.Bacigalupo first found his niche in the business world by creating co-working spaces in New York City – but not the regular old corporate co-working spaces that faked inclusiveness and broadcasted their free micro roast coffee. Instead, he created ones that fostered a real sense of friendliness. He has a passion for addressing loneliness, community, and the benefits of the simple act of gathering. In co-working, he sees the future of work and evolving ecosystems about how to combine culture, community, and access to create a space that is more than the sum of its parts.Bacigalupo joined me on the Antipreneur Show podcast to talk about what it means to be lonely, how many co-working inventors there might be in the world, how to participate effectively with strangers, and the story about his dashing new haircut.https://nwc.co/Twitter: @TonyBGoode https://tonybacigalupo.comhttps://belongful.co

David Shriner-Cahn had a comfortable career first as a chemical engineer, then as an executive at a not-for-profit organization where he led and managed teams and organizations. This worked for him for 28 years, until the day someone else told him the gig was up.After the fear of being involuntarily unemployed subsided, Shriner-Cahn had a realization: in his next business life, he wanted to be the one calling the shots. In 2006 he launched his consulting business, TEND Strategic Partners, and later started a blog that morphed into a podcast, Smashing the Plateau. And that led into a second podcast: Going Solo.Shriner-Cahn is doing all of this to bring entrepreneurs together because he wants to help high-achieving professionals take control over their own futures and write their own stories. He recently took a break from his two podcasts to join me on my own. He talked about the importance of making breakthroughs and how his background in engineering led him to focus on having good processes that are both efficient and effective. Many people say they want to take over their own careers and reach new goals, but the gap between where they are and where they want to be needs to be closed before those realizations can happen. You can find David online @https://linkedin.com/in/davidshrinercahnhttps://SmashingThePlateau.com
Karyl Eckerle is an entrepreneurial dynamo! A real figure it out and take the bull by the horns kind of woman.Personal branding and image strategist, Karyl Eckerle, is committed to helping women take their place as “Who's Who” in their field. Specializing in women in leadership roles (both in corporate and entrepreneurial ventures), Karyl works with organizations and individuals to develop and showcase consistent image and personal brand credibility through in-person and digital first impression strategies. For Karyl Eckerle, your image is everything. It is the face of your business, it is how you create a sense of credibility and expertise, it is how you are seen, heard, and remembered, and it is how you become the go-to expert in your field.Eckerle is the face of The Image Impact Group, a branding agency focused specifically on female leaders in client-facing roles, from executives to lawyers to real estate professionals and public speakers. Image Impact bridges the divide between image and personal branding, allowing her clients to create a clear, consistent, and confident message no matter what medium they are navigating. Why is this needed? According to Eckerle, many women have the education, knowledge, and expertise to be leaders in their field, but they don't yet have what it takes to stand out, become visible, make a true impact, be original, exude confidence, and be known as the experts. That is where she comes in, coaching her clients on impact branding, and also doing some speaking along the way.During our interview, Eckerle talked about how she works with her clients, how her own experiences help guide her coaching, and how the changes she made for herself inform the approach she takes to helping women reach their peak potential. What do you want to be known for? Karyl will help you discover that. You can find Karyl online making an impact in entreprenurs lives on LinkedIn and of course on her website at https://TheImageImpactGroup.comYou can take Karyl's Instant Image Assessment at https://bit.ly/imageimpactsurvey

Today on The #Antipreneur Show we say FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT!Jono talks about how in every aspect of his life, to move forward he’s had to in one way or another, “fake it” to get started. A lot of opportunity requires experience, and you have to go into it knowing you’ll be able to learn the rest at a quick pace, but you can’t go in blind. Dan makes a great point that you still need TALENT. Talking around things can only go so far, if you can’t deliver, you don’t get to stick around.Jono breaks down the major difference between being a weasel and being ambitious. You need a percentage of certainty to pull off the “fake it til you make it” thing. Your personality goes a long way.Dan talks about the LEVEL of skill, ambition, and everything you need to have to be able to break into a new endeavor. You should always be aware of it, rather than assuming things will be fine. Then you continue to level up with more experience.Jono challenges Dan to create Lord Of The Rings final battle-style graphics that he has to deliver since it is a verbal contract. (and dan does not deliver)We talk about our awesome SHIRTS which you can get right here: https://teespring.com/stores/antipreneurFollow us on socialwww.instagram.com/cellcorecreativewww.facebook.com/cellcorecreativewww.twitter.com/cellcorecreativwww.linkedin.com/in/antipreneurThe #Antipreneur Show is available as an AUDIO experience at https://www.cellcorecreative.com/podcastIf you prefer the VISUAL experience subscribe to our YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_wSNmB0WmDsrrqKXNWQnJLRJGmqcIoQkLike what you’re seeing and hearing? Today on The #Antipreneur Show we beg that you LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES!Dan kicks off the show talking about the FEAR of making mistakes, which goes back to our previous episode STOP NOT STARTING. It’s always worth at least trying, and if something goes wrong, you learn from it.Jono then points out that mistakes are pointless if you don’t grow from them. Learning how to accept the blame, learn, and move on makes you a stronger person.Dan goes into a metaphor about delicious chocolate chip cookies and baking with his grandmother. They’re delicious because thought goes into them. Jono jumps in to tell a ridiculous story about meeting Martha Stewart that involves chocolate chip cookies. Then he jumps into the importance of shaping your identity around being able to grow as a person and constantly evolve. You’ve heard us throw some great phrases around, but now they’re in the form of T-SHIRTS! Today on The #Antipreneur Show we implore you to STOP NOT STARTING!First there’s a quick conversation about the 90s television series Renegade and Highlander and how they may have been the same show starring the same person, but they’re definitely not.So many people get in their own way, but there are always alternative and resourceful routes that can get you where you want to go.Get the BETTER DONE THAN PERFECT SHIRT here: https://teespring.com/stores/antipreneurDan talks about his band Lifted making a music video, and instead of spending thousands of dollars, they did a casting call for extras that doubled as filming a reel for the actors. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/MY8btxqm_CQJono talks about how he and his friends always wanted to make a comic, and didn’t think it was possible until he crafted the idea to make A Comic For Flint: HOPE that he put together to raise money for charity. Check out a page from the comic here: https://www.jonodiener.com/after-ice-creamThe guys talk about hating excuses and how they always get in the way. Then Jono opens up about a children’s book his therapist gave him and how it changed his perspective. Now GET OUT THERE and STOP NOT STARTING!Follow us on socialwww.instagram.com/cellcorecreativewww.facebook.com/cellcorecreativewww.twitter.com/cellcorecreativwww.linkedin.com/in/antipreneurThe #Antipreneur Show is available as an AUDIO experience at https://www.cellcorecreative.com/podcastIf you prefer the VISUAL experience subscribe to our YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_wSNmB0WmDsrrqKXNWQnJLRJGmqcIoQkLike what you’re seeing and hearing? In this episode of The #Antipreneur Show, Dan and Jono say YOUR IDEAS SUCK!Ideas are nothing if they stay ideas. That sucks.Just like our previous episode, ACTION = TRACTION. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzxmfh8y7hWe had the idea to do this episode, which may or may not even be a good idea, but at least we tried it. It’s all about trial and error. Learning from your mistakes.Ideas should also be for the greater good and service the big picture. Ideas for the sake of placeholders or filling in blanks end up being more about ego than your project.Your first draft will always suck. But it’s a great foundation, and at least having a foundation is better than having nothing. The #Antipreneur Show is available as an AUDIO experience at https://www.cellcorecreative.com/podcastIf you prefer the VISUAL experience subscribe to our YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_wSNmB0WmDsrrqKXNWQnJLRJGmqcIoQkFollow us on socialwww.instagram.com/cellcorecreativewww.facebook.com/cellcorecreativewww.twitter.com/cellcorecreativwww.linkedin.com/in/antipreneurBuy one of our entrepreneurial inspired T-Shirts @https://teespring.com/stores/antipreneurThe #Antipreneur Show is available as an AUDIO experience at https://www.cellcorecreative.com/podcast
The first conversation Dan and Jono had was bonding over the absurdity of business buzzwords and business people playing pretend with each other to feel more important.“Want to hop on a call? I’m not sure if I have the bandwidth, but let’s connect next week and go over optics.”We dig into the hilarious buzzwords and phrases. Then we talk about how it’s easy to spot a phony. It’s very easy to be real and get to the point without hiding in fluff. But is there a benefit to using these buzzwords? Who started it? We then talk about the video production and music industry, and how we ourselves have adopted terminology that helps professionals save time and speak the same language. Maybe there is a benefit? On this episode of The #Antipreneur Show, Dan and Jono want you to KILL YOUR DARLINGS!The phrases “Kill Your Darlings” originates in the writing space, explaining the concept of getting rid of unnecessary storylines, characters and sentences. It also applies into business.First, Jono quotes the almighty DAVE GROHL when he said, “Don’t bore us, get to the chorus.” And explains how eliminating fluff in your messaging just leaves great content. https://youtu.be/eQV95ehUU4sNext, Dan speaks on what’s better for the end user. Remember, you are NOT your client and you need to be servicing them based on what they want. Then Jono talks about the problem with holding onto things and concepts out of principle. Sure, you may have come up with a great idea, but does it serve the bigger picture of your project? Remember, if you don’t use it this time you can always use it later! Finally, Dan and Jono talk about the power of editing. How no one wants to see the 10 hours of raw files, but rather focus on the finished, concise product. They made a Lord Of The Rings extended cut… Do we really need more walking on mountains? On this episode of The #Antipreneur Show, Dan and Jono talk about the importance of a CALL TO ACTION (or CTA) in business. We want to help you as a business seal the deal and not leave things open-ended. Too many of us play the assumption game and end up losing in the end. Not anymore.First we talk about how it’s important to treat your customers and clients like toddlers. This involves hand-holding and making sure there’s no room confusion or distraction.Next we walk you through the language used to capitalize on your momentum. “What’s next?” “Ready to do this?” Then we remind you to NOT LEAVE THE MONEY ON THE TABLE! Your meeting, whether it’s via a phone call, email, or in real life, is adding value if you’re good at your job. Don’t end it early. Make sure you remember why you’re there and leave with the money! Finally, we used examples from retail, the service industry and IRL (In Real Life) moments to help you transition from your sale to sealing the deal. Most people are ready to buy or invest, but they just want the invitation. The #Antipreneur Show is available as an AUDIO experience at https://www.cellcorecreative.com/podcastIf you prefer the VISUAL experience subscribe to our YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_wSNmB0WmDsrrqKXNWQnJLRJGmqcIoQkLike what you’re seeing and hearing?
