Step into the bustling streets of a vibrant city like London, where the air hums with energy and possibilities. Amidst the whirl of activity, take a moment to observe. Notice the people, the bags they carry, the brands they wear, the choices they make. Price, it seems, isn't always the primary concern for buyers. In this podcast, forget what you thought you knew about pricing strategies and for a 15 minutes, delve into a world where value reigns supreme. You see, your customers buy on value. You know this. But how to you measure that value in order to set your pricing? In this podcast, I give you three ways in which you can change your pricing by measuring your value. Three elements to consider include Convenience Speed Customer Service So, how do you price your product or service in a sea of competition? It's simple: understand what your customers value and tailor your pricing accordingly. Whether it's the convenience of seamless transactions, the speed of lightning-fast service, or the warmth of exceptional customer care, your pricing should reflect the value you provide. After all, in a world where value speaks volumes, your pricing strategy could be the key to standing out in a crowded marketplace. Have a listen with an open mind. Marketing is the cornerstone of any successful business – it really is the foundation upon which you base your business on. But marketing is HUGE, nine little letters that pack a massive punch for every business. In this episode, I introduce you to the philosophy of marketing and the definition that I've been using since I taught marketing several years ago. This podcast continues the series on the FAY WAY to Marketing. As marketing is a foundational cornerstone of any business, we're comparing marketing to building a house. Just as a house needs strong foundations, a business needs a solid marketing strategy to survive and thrive. A strategy that will stand the test of time and the winds of change. In this podcast, we talk about the foundations of a business being similar to the foundations of a house... Understanding your target audience is like surveying the land Defining your YOU Factor is like laying the foundation Developing the words you use is like framing the house Creating your attraction plan is adding walls and a roof Measuring and analysing results, yield what you've built is like inspecting the house. Just as a house needs strong foundations, a business needs a solid marketing strategy to survive and thrive. A strategy that will stand the test of time and the winds of change. And winds of change are sure to happen in every business – guaranteed! As always, I finish with a few practical, actionable steps. This is a good one to get you thinking about your own foundations – what's working and what isn't...what would happen if winds of change blew around your business in the short term? Long term? This episode is dedicated to putting the Relationship back into Relationship Marketing. This podcast was inspired by two quotes; the first one was one I posted for my weekly Monday Motivation post on all my social channels and the second was on I saw on Forbes Facebook. What did they have in common? Customers and relationships. This podcast is the start in a series of podcasts dedicated to relationship marketing. I have been a firm believer in Relationship Marketing since the early 2000s, having wrote a thesis on Relationship Marketing in the Airline Industry for my Masters of Business Studies in the Smurfit Business School in 2002. Lets just say, marketing principles don't change. :-) In this podcast, which gives you food for thought on your own relationship marketing strategy, we talk about three things: 1. What is relationship marketing 2. Three reasons why you should put the relationship back into relationship marketing 3. Three questions to ask yourself about relationship marketing This podcast is a food for thought podcast – either introducing you or re-introducing you to the idea of relationship marketing. Today's new podcast episode is something I've never done before. I get so many questions from network colleagues and members of the Achievers Club Community group. And many of the questions follow a theme, which regularly fall into the stages of The FAY WAY to Marketing that I talk about. So I thought I'd dedicate a podcast to it - ask me anything. It's a new format – so lets see how it goes. I've grouped the questions into one theme because I'm asked about it a lot – social media. In this podcast, I ask (and answer) these three questions: 1. Do I really need a strategy for my business social media? 2. How do I go about creating a social media strategy? 3. How do you engage with a quiet audience? If you've any questions, that you'd like answered in upcoming episodes, about marketing and mindset, then head email me at denisefay at achievemarketing.ie. Sometimes we need to slow down to reassess what's working and what isn't and reset. Five months has gone but there are seven ahead of us. This could still be the year you achieve more than you ever have. Take the time and reassess these three Ws: Your Why This will keep you grounded while you get busy with summer activities or when you face into the moments of doubt. Your Who Knowing who you serve and truly understanding your customers, clients or patients problems sets you up for success in a way more than you will ever know. Your Way What way are you marketing your business, your products or services? It will really help you in a big way moving forward. It's so important to keep moving forward, to keep the momentum going. What do I alway say? It takes way more energy to stop and start than to slow down and keep it going. In this episode, I talk more about the Who than the other two Ws...your why and your way. The power of your marketing comes from understanding your customer better than they know themselves. We talk about this a lot in this episode. Enjoy. Lets Talk Marketing Assets. So what is a marketing asset? A marketing asset is something tangible, that is of value to your client, customer or prospect that will lead to a return. It's everything from your email list to your blog posts; your logo to your photos; your emails to your press releases. The chances are that you have many marketing assets, lying discarded on shelves, google drives, dropboxes and a clatter of online platforms. For this podcast, we talk about your content marketing assets and how it's so important to audit what you have. The purpose of doing a marketing asset audit is to see what you have already, prioritise it, repurpose it or dump it and really see what you need rather than what you want. In this podcast, we talk about the 29 marketing assets (and more) that you have lying around, explain why it's important you audit what you have, Assess the usability of what you have, Clarify what marketing assets do you really need v want to create. The marketing assets audit does just that - helps you audit your marketing assets. To support you in this task, I've created an easy to use template that will help you audit your assets. From a Scientist to a Business Coach One thing my guest this week is focused on is focus (excuse the pun!). Lately, I’ve been thinking about working ON the business rather than IN the business. How so many business owners experience the see-saw approach to entrepreneurship. I was delighted to have Lynsey Hanratty come on the show to talk about staying safe, how we self-sabotage our goals and how to overcome it. I loved her very simple approach to overcoming self sabotage – she gave us one simple but man, it was powerful, technique, which I have started doing. And I think you should do too. I’m not going to say anything else other than listen to the podcast. If you feel you need extra focus, a gentle push to stop you from playing small, then drop everything and listen to this. And my ask of you – if you love this interview, then I would love a review. I’d really appreciate that. Timid salespeople have skinny kids so said Zig Ziglar. Sales is not just about the Ask, it’s about the Follow up. An area where business owners leave cash on the table! As we are well into September, the last quarter is fast approaching and I want you to start bringing in the cash so you can Finish Strong for 2020. It starts now. #itsnownotwhen I talk about a mindset switch which will make follow up so much easier. When you own your own message, when you share your YOU Factor with the world, follow up just gets easier. In this podcast, I talk about Follow up and it’s importance. I share with you - The 3 Ps to Follow up 3 Ways to Start Adding Soft Follow up in your Process A lesson about Follow up that staring you in the face but you may even be aware of it If you spend so much time working on your marketing, make time for Follow up. This is the second part of the Keynote talk I gave to the PSA Ireland event. This is part two – How to Communicate your Message to Create a Community of Raving Fans. This is my message to share with the world. Episode 18 – was part one – How to Create a Community of Raving Fans...so check that out. In this podcast, I ask you if you are operating in a sea of sameness...and what to do about it. I talk about the Elevator Pitch – does it really work? I also introduce you to what I call ‘The U Factor’. It’s something that is missing in traditional marketing message – it’s what makes you YOU! Incongruence in a marketing message hinders your success. Your customers and clients need to know, with 110% clarity, what you do and can do for them. They also need to know you...because that’s how they’ll connect. You deserve success and it starts with your marketing message. It starts here...so you can create a community of raving fans, which results in the holy grail of marketing. I hope you enjoy it as much as my audience did. I was one of two keynote speakers at the Professional Speakers Association Ireland June event and I gave a talk called ‘How to Communicate your Message and Build a Community of Raving Fans’. This is my message to share with the world. It was a short talk – 20 minutes or so but the feedback I got was phenomenal and I was asked would I record it as a podcast because some people just loved it. So here it is...broken into two parts. This first part, in this episode is all about Creating a Community of Raving Fans.. The next episode will be about your marketing message. I talk about why you should think about creating a community of raving fans and explain the 3 Rs of Community of Raving Fans. I hope you enjoy it as much as my audience did. And my ask of you – if you do, I would love a review. I’d really appreciate that. And come join the conversation - head over to the Lets Talk Marketing Community, our free, private group on FB. This is a bonus episode to explain the gap in shows between June and July. I was totally honest about it, because while I talk about consistency and momentum to my clients, I do understand there is a difference between the theory and the practicality. So I give two main reasons - time and fear. And I offer advice to you if you're faced with the same excuse about why you're not marketing. It's a short one, take a listen and then get marketing!! Your website is the only piece of real estate on the Internet that you own. I’ve been helping businesses market their websites since 2000 and have seen many social media platforms arise with much fanfare and then disappear. So if you had content and followers on those platforms, when they went, chances are your followers and content did too. This is why it’s so important to have your own website. You own your website. And the one thing that will keep people on your site is...your content. In this podcast, I give you five content tips to keep people on your website. After all, images tell but content sells. Keep your readers on your site with these five tips.
One of the things that I have been working on this year is productivity and planning. I’m a firm believer in 'Discipline is Freedom'. However, nothing like a worldwide pandemic to test one's planning! So I invited my good friend, colleague and mentor Theresa Cifali onto the show. She is a serial entrepreneur, productivity coach and a person who speaks planning in the language that suits the individual. This is a lady that rejects rigid structure and doesn’t like planning yet is a productivity coach who achieves all her goals and works with her clients to achieve the same. So how can you compute this oxymoron? Well it all comes down to your priorities and your personality type. And when you have those down pat, and are aware of your motivators, then your planning becomes so much easier. This is a podcast not to be missed. We had so much fun.
Video is everywhere. If you are a reluctant video marketer, then this is the podcast for you. Here's some stats - - 59% of executives say they would rather watch a video than read text. - 95% of a message when they watch it in a video, compared to 10% when reading it in text. So there is no denying that businesses need to do more video. In this podcast, we talk about the FEAR of video, and HOW we can get around it. I also talk about structuring your video and the importance of Who, What & Why...essentials to avoid defeat. Then I talk about 4 different types of video - it's not just about the talking head on video! After this video, you'll be motivated to hit the publish button, click your clickerboard and shout 'Action'!
If you have ever said that this year, I’m going to write a book...well then this is Your Year. Because on today’s show, my guest is Demi Stevens, owner of Year of the Book Press. She is an award-winning coach, author herself, editor, publisher and CEO of Year of the Book Press, Demi helps you become a published author. She helps move your story idea out of your head and into print. Some of us may have more time on our hands during the Covid19 Pandemic, so what better way to use your time...then write your book. This is a great episode for a number of reasons...and not just the book editing and writing tips. We talk about Demi’s journey – and I think it’s quite relevant in today’s climate. After moving to a small town, she had to pivot because there were no jobs in her chosen profession. How she saw opportunity and went for it where she could just thrown in the towel, went home to her new husband and said ‘there’s no jobs here’. Then we got into the meaty piece about the writing and editing process and it’s full of golden nuggets. We talked about Safe never starts and perfect never finishes – wise advice The need for an editor but not on your first draft How to keep yourself in motion and not stare at a blank page and much, much more.
Over the last three weeks, I’ve been talking to businesses who are talking about layoffs, closures and then I’ve been speaking to businesses who are doing really well. It’s a roundabout, roller coaster and navigating will be tough. So I wanted to write a podcast that is about practical support. I understand that you might be restless, fearful one minute and then full of reflection the next. And here’s where the help begins. Take a listen. Head on over to www.denisefay.com/marketing-advice or https://www.facebook.com/groups/AchieveResultsWithMarketing/
David Yeabsley is the author of the new book ‘Future Proof Yourself: How to keep yourself employable for the rest of your working career.’ While we talk marketing on the podcast (obviously!), I firmly believe that mindset is as important as marketing. And as it’s February now – all those new year's resolutions are behind us - and there is something more hopeful and positive and growth oriented about February than January. So it’s a great time to have David on the show. We began by speaking about relevance and it was inspired by none other than Woody and Buzz of Toy Story. (I loved this!). He shares four key concepts with me on how to future proof yourself. They are The importance of Reflection Raising your profile Networking Managing your self development. Sit back, enjoy and find more ways to future proof yourself.
This podcast is about 7 marketing trends for 2020. Everyone starts a new year with new resolutions. These are 7 tips that you can use in your marketing to maximise it's success in 2020. I could have given you a hundred and 7 trends but I’ve started with 7 so that you can begin testing them out. Some are classics and some are technology based that will transform your marketing in 2020.
This is the fifth episode in a six-part mini series. Today we’re talking with Maedbh Hand of Copywriting by Hand who understands the power of words. It’s the C in the ACE model – how we convert prospects to clients….it all comes down to words. Maedbh Hand is a business blogger for SMEs. We talked all things about words, but how they make a difference. A massive difference. In this podcast, we talk about how Meadbh got inspired for her business because of her NAME and PhD The two types of copywriting style How MANY more leads a business can get from blogging What DISTRACTIONS we all suffer from and WHAT to do about it The IMPORTANCE of Congruence WHY copywriters need to work with web designers first Why COMMMON SENSE sometimes isn’t so common and much much more. There are so many golden nuggets in there – there’s tools to use for copy, advice for start ups and how asking for feedback can benefit your marketing copy. I was so excited about this interview...you’ll be able to tell when you listen!!
This is the fourth episode in a six part mini series. Today we’re talking with Dawn Leane of Leane Leaders who has really focused on attracting her ideal clients. Dawn Leane is a coach and consultant who focuses on diversity and leadership. She develops inclusive leadership through training, coaching and consulting. We talked about MAC – message, audience and channel - how she got clear on her message, her audience and her channel. We talk about it all...so listen on. From her experience as HR Director, Dawn saw a niche in the market place and went for it by creating Leane Leaders. In this podcast, we talk about The SIMPLICITY of having a three word description of what you do Niching - how important it is to DIFFERENTIATE what you do. How some people can take the wind out of your goals and your business idea (and how Dawn overcame that!) How staying true to your own message REALLY works How a confused mind never buys and how Dawn really thought about this to FIND her own VOICE The moment when Dawn realised that she is different to others and worked on it to connect with her audience (THIS was key for her and will be key for you) Using the right channel to suit her needs – not every channel or platform suits her – she has her key channels and that WORKS and much more There are so many golden nuggets in there – how authenticity is key, how service individuals are the product and how it’s important to be CLEAR on your message, market and your channel. Stay to the end and you’ll get three tips which are amazing.
This is the third episode in a six part mini series. It’s the E in the ACE Model for Clients for Life. This is one of my favourite topics because so often we don’t take the time to put a ringfence around our clients. So many of us business owners do not employ engagement strategies. We’re not taught them, so therefore they aren’t put into practice. But what if you started employing some engagement practices with your existing clients? That’s what I want for you from this podcast. Little things matter… So grab a pen and paper, this episode is all about how to keep those clients that we’ve attracted and converted...and keep them for life.
This is the second episode in a 6 part mini-series about the ACE Model. I've been in marketing for over 20 years and I believe there are three main phases in marketing - client attraction, client conversion and client engagement. At any point in the customer journey, you are in one of those phases. This episode dives deep into the second phase - client conversion. This is the section that you move your prospect from being attracted to you to getting to know you more and then buying from you. It’s a massive phase. In this episode we talk about client conversion using the written word. Words are more prevalent now than they ever were and it’s important you use them effectively and persuasively to convert your prospect into a client. Grab a pen and paper, this is jam-packed with ideas for you as you embark on client attraction.
Episode 6 is the start of a six part mini series. Over the next six episodes, we’re going to talk about the three phases that is incredibly important in marketing - client attraction, client conversion and client engagement. At any point in the customer journey, you may have clients in one or three of those phases. Over the next six episodes, we’ll dive a little deeper into each phase, so each episode will be a mini workshop. This episode deals with Client Attraction. It’s that initial stage where someone notices you or you want them to notice you. We are going to talk about MAC - message, audience and channel. Grab a pen and paper, this is jam-packed with ideas for you as you embark on client attraction.
In this episode, I talk with Liz Melville. She is a facebook marketer and facebook ads strategist. She was super generous with her information and her knowledge on how to use Facebook as a marketing tool. Facebook ads is her specialist niche but she knows Facebook inside and out. Now, we did talk about the elephant in the room – is facebook still a platform to consider? We also talked about the many tools that comprise the platform and how to use them to your advantage – ads, groups, lives, chatbots. It’s all here. And her business secret at the end? Well lets just say, listen to the end and think about it for yourself. (I'll end up doing a podcast dedicated to it!).
In this episode, I wanted to focus on four things that will stop you from getting distracted from getting the leads that you need to get, or the customers that you want. My theme for this year is ‘discipline is freedom’...and with that comes focus, and stop getting distracted. I am the biggest procrastinator in the world. And if you are like me, then you are going to love this podcast series, especially this episode. I am so going to give you the tools to stop procrastinating!! This episode features four practical ways to get you back on track if you've slipped a bit from your goals to help you - create growth - attract leads - keep clients?
In this episode of Let’s Talk Marketing, I talked with Claire McPherson, a leading business coach and owner of Claire McPherson Coaching. Mindset is so important and it can make the difference between two people who have the same skills, same job, same resources at their disposal. You’re going to love her three ways of how to reengage with your purpose. She talks about three pillars – profits, passion and purpose. The more I learn about mindset, the more I am discovering that it has everything to do with marketing success.
In this episode of Let's Talk Marketing, I talked with Andrew Dobbin, founder of the Business Mindset, BNI mentor and all round believer in networking. As this podcast is for professional service providers, networking is so so important. This episode is jam packed with advice from how to get referrals to Linkedin introductions; from great networking etiquette to your USP. Settle in – this is a great interview and I get really excited about the advice Andrew gave.
Welcome to Let's Talk Marketing. Let's Talk Marketing is a podcast that shares tips to attract, convert and engage clients and prospects with businesses offering a professional service. By professional service, I mean anyone who has trained or completed hours of mastery of their particular subject. It could be accountants, payroll, solicitors, lawyers, web designers, graphic designers, business coaches, life coaches, health coaches, speaker coaches, marketers and so forth. Regardless of the professional service that you sell, much of the same marketing strategies apply to you because you are mostly selling the invisible. Yes, we pretty much all sell results or outcomes of some type but it’s not the same as walking into a shop. Immediately your senses have an experience. Selling professional services we don’t have that same experience. So there are other marketing strategies and tips that we need to use. So that’s what we’ll be talking about in Let's Talk Marketing – marketing strategies that you can use straightaway.
