Well if you are a resident of South Texas, then you are in luck as we have our very own local Bruja—better known as La Brujita! A local web series emerged out of all of the collective uncertainty that was 2020. YIKES, a YouTube web series, created by Cris Olvera, Ricky Martinez, and Ryan Monroy, has gained a lot of traction here in South Texas ever since it's debut episode was released in late October 2020. More specifically, our hometown of Corpus Christi is officially the Land of YIKES and perhaps this is why we are smiling a little wider lately as current residents! This incredibly relevant web series explores the fictional shortcomings and adventures of roommates, Ryan and Ricky. That is just the beginning of YIKES so be sure to listen to this episode as we get the story of how, what and why this rising series has captivated so many hearts, minds and don’t forget the most awkward laughs ever. ;) To watch YIKES part 1 on YouTube click hereTo give to Food 4 Da Homies click hereFollow YIKES on Instagram @thelandofyikesFollow Ryan Monroy on Twitter @ryanmonroyFollow Ryan Monroy on Instagram @bestboytvFollow Cris Olvera on Twitter @crisinternetsFollow Ricky Martinez on Twitter @rickinatorrr To donate to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention click hereFor Last Week’s Revolve One Episode click hereConnect with us at Revolve One:Visit everything Revolve One by clicking hereTo visit the Revolve One Web Page click hereTo follow us on Facebook click hereEmail the show at feedback@revolveone.comWe are on Instagram & Twitter @revolveoneSupport the show (http://patreon.com/revolveone)
Finally after fans created a movement unlike anything ever seen in modern day fandom, the famed Snyder cut of the Justice League arrives on HBO Max this week. In this episode we discuss what the Snyder cut is, how it came to be and the impact that it has had not only pop culture but in raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions. For more information on Zack Snyder’s Justice League click hereTo donate to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention click hereTo nominate us for best podcast on The Bend Mag’s Local’s List click hereTo watch YIKES part 1 on YouTube click hereLink to read the full Vanity Fair article mentioned in the episode click hereLink to read an article on why ZSJL is historic click hereConnect with us at Revolve One:Visit everything Revolve One by clicking hereTo visit the Revolve One Web Page click hereTo follow us on Facebook click hereEmail the show at feedback@revolveone.comWe are on Instagram & Twitter @revolveoneSupport the show (http://patreon.com/revolveone)

In this episode, we switch gears to a more serious note as we interview a local teacher turned entrepreneur, Andrea Johnson, who co-founded C MATH is EASY alongside Elsa Brown. They created this organization in tandem with original materials to "help a child or an adult understand the basic foundations of math." During a lesson prep, Andrea is perplexed to find a copyrighted workbook of theirs plagiarized seemingly verbatim. Despite their efforts to work alongside and possibly partner with these local educational institutions, it appears copyrighted material is being used but is not credited to the rightful author or organization. Andrea understands and delights in their organization's profound role in teaching others so "they can become their dream" yet feels like their hard work is being exploited rather than justly commended. On this episode, we check back in with rapper and longtime friend, AB Dvinci, to celebrate and talk about his new single: #Fuego (feat. Droopy M., DJ Kane, and Big Tank D). AB has always been a supporter of ours whether on the mat as a martial arts instructor or when we're behind the mic recording and producing episodes! With his new single out, we knew we had to take the time to lift up a fire, fresh jam. Of course we talked politics briefly with the election just passed, and caught up on life as it just keeps going while we keep creating. This special commemorative episode is brought to you by our local South Texas Pride community featuring our guests: Elyssa Albaugh and Victoria Whitson. We are ecstatic to be part of such a vibrant and vital community as Revolve One lifts up those showing their rainbow colors. With October being LGBTQ+ History Month, we knew something special had to be done for the release of our 100th episode—we are reminding everyone what pride is all about as it persistently teaches that love is love. As much as we celebrate love and our LGBTQ+ community, we understand it is not always so easy to show your pride.Unfortunately "LGBTQ(+) young people are at a higher risk of experiencing negative mental health outcomes than their heterosexual and cisgender peers".If you or someone you know is feeling hopeless or suicidal, please call the TrevorLifeline at 1-866-488-7386 or text START to 678-678. Our Season Four is here and it is not for the faint of heart. This is an episode that is more of a narrative than an interview as we allow ourselves to be fully present for our guest. Season Four begins with a heart-wrenching and explicit account of sexual assault, ongoing sexual abuse, and the trauma that is engendered by such depravity. This episode may not be suitable for all listeners yet it is a story that is more common than some people realize—it is a story openly shared because it needs to be heard. Despite these chaotic times, Rudy and I are grateful to look back on all the amazing guests, incredible stories, and awesome times that have happened throughout 2020 thus far.
