TAZRIA-METZORAWhy Gossip SellsWhat makes gossip, or lashon hara so irresistible, to the point that, as the sages say, “it is impossible to be saved from it”?What's the pleasure in Gossip? Why do we feel compelled to vent and share every flaw we discover in others? We must dive deeper and understand a revolutionary fact: lashon hara fulfills a psychological need.It is an essential tool for coping with self-criticism.Once we redefine lashon hara as meeting an emotional need, we can develop a new method to deal with this internal pressure.Man is a mirror, taught he Baal Shem, and when the reflected image is flawed, the problem is in the observer, not the mirror. Thus, when a person sees a flaw in another and makes a commotion about it, stirring everyone around over that flaw — it indicates that the problem lies within himself. If the flaw were not present in himself, he would address it quietly and productively. The fact that he focuses on the sickness and loudly defames others is primarily a reflection of his own inner issue.
The Riziner one Motzy Shabbos told the following story. Once the Holy Baal Shem was davening and the corner of his Talis slipped out of his gartle and touched the floor. The Great Magid picked it up and tucked it back into place. And then all of the sudden, as if he had stuck by lightning, he fainted. Seeing that his life was in danger they interrupted the prayers of the Besht and he revived him. About this said the Riziner, The Baal Shem, was very holy but he wasn't G-d, and my Zaide the Magid wasn't exactly a simple wagon driver! BUT!, when he touch his GARMENT look what happened. It's a wonder to me, how can we daily through our eating, working, living, so to speak TOUCH the Garments of the KING OF KINGS and not have the proper reverence to honor the sparks of Godliness in creation And that's our topic for today…

Basi L'Gani 5724 #7: This is the seventh of a series of a text-based class on the Chassidic discourse, Basi Legani 5724 (1964), which was said by the Lubavitcher Rebbe 60 years ago at the Farbrengen of Motzei Shabbos Beshalach, 11 Shevat, 5724, January 25, 1964.Rabbi YY Jacobson presented this class on Thursday, 8Shvat, 5784, January 18, 2024, in Bais Medrash Ohr Chaim, Monsey, NY. This class explores the practical relevance of Atzilus in our lives, expressed in the life of Yosef. His brothers, who came from Beriah, could not fathom his lifestyle: How can you be enmeshed in running a superpower, yet remain anchored in Divinity? Yosef explained to them: Do you think I am lower than Elokim? they were from Beriah, Yosef was from Atzilus. And in the world of Atzilus, even the finite and defined thought is an expression of infinite consciousness. With this the Alter Rebbe explains how Hashem contains all thoughts of every human being, without this constitution alien thoughts. And how the Baal Shem Tov managed to answer people about their individual issues while his soul ascended to heaven. Tzaddikim who mirror their Creator can remain present with every thought and emotion, with every person where he or she is, while not leaving the space of infinite oneness. The Baal Shem Tov set an example for each of us. How can I listen to the conversations within myself, respond to the various parts inside of me throwing out questions, with the empathy of my core Divine self, now allowing any thought to tear me away from my intimacy with the Divine?

We're shedding light on an until-now veiled era of Illuminati history that will reshape our entire understanding of the infamous & mythic order and the raft of associated conspiracy theories... We begin w/ the Bavarian Order's origins, Adam Weishaupt, & the assertion of Rosicrucian & Masonic author Alistair Lees' that Thomas Jefferson was in fact initiated into the society of illuminists via Edmund Burke. From there, we trace Skull & Bones' lineage back to the Illuminati via this earlier Phi Beta Kappa society at William & Mary, which will have major implications on our discussion of the British & Germanic revivals of the Illuminati in the fin de siècle / turn-of-the-century. To sum, this 2 parter is largely an exercise in demonstrating how basically every occult order & secret society in the early 20th century can be both mapped & connected by said British & German Illuminati revivals. I may return w/ an even more forensic set of notes, but here are some of the major figures, orders, & topics that we tether together in this investigation rooted in brand new, cutting edge evidence sourced from the archives of the Christian Masonic "Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia": The initiatic succession of Illuminati-paranoia in hip hop; Skull & Bones; Ezra Stiles—alchemist, cabalist, & Yale President; the Bushes; Howard Taft; Gog & Magog and their commingling sex magical & apocalyptic symbolism for Bonesmen; the fact that Bonesman Howard Taft's ancestor Patricia recently published an op-ed running interference for the Z**nist project w/ a weird racial bent to it; Sabbatai Zevi; Sabbateans & Frankists; cabala-influenced Yale societies; the history of the Illuminati from seemingly anti-monarchical to capitalist-reifying holding pattern; some wonderments re the ongoing genocide & the apocalyptic & cabalistic symbolism of the Oct. 7th "attack"; pansophism; colonial Christian cabalists like John Winthrop the Younger, Daniel Leeds, & the Mathers;... Bringing it up to the Illuminati revival, we discuss: how Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, theosophist, & Freemason William Wynn Westcott was initiated into a revived Illuminati via Theodore Reuss, the German spy & infiltrator of Marxist movements; along the way, we learn about a number of recognizable figures from past EPs who were either initiates of Illuminati revivals or else tangentially connected... we're talking Papus; John Yarker; Aleister Crowley; JFC Boney Fuller; the OTO; the Rite of Memphis-Misraim (which was indelibly connected w/ the Illuminati & shared numerous overlaps); Rudolf Steiner; proto-Nazi spy & Thule Society founder Baron von Sebbotendorf; Nazi Navy intel officer & Rosicrucian Arnold Krumm-Heller; our old snake-oily ad man buddy from AMORC & likely German asset Harvey Spencer Lewis (plus Lt. Col. Aquino's claims that AMORC was descended from the OTO via Reuss's authority, meaning there's an Illuminati connection there, too); the draft dodging DA raid; Garibaldi; Cagliostro; Cagliostro's master Jacob Falk aka Doctor Falckon—an alchemist, Baal Shem, & Frankist rabbi, which brings us back to Z**nism's roots in these Jewish esoteric societies connected to the Illuminati; & much much more. It's really one for the ages, folks. Songs: | Goodie Mob - "Cell Therapy" | | Big Moochie Grape - "Illuminati Business" | | Ras Kass - "Ordo Abchao" |

18th of Elul birth of Baal shem Tov and Baal haTanya, and their teachings by Rabbi Benjamin Lavian
Rabbi Jacobson will discuss the following topics: Chassidus applied to Chai Elul What does this day teach us? What did Chassidus come to accomplish? How did it address the challenges of the time? How does Chai Elul help us enter Rosh Hashana? What were some of the revolutionary ideas introduced by the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe? What is the difference between the “two luminaries”? Is inspiration ever initiated by us and by Hashem at the same time? According to Chassidus should we be shunning the beauty of the natural world? Was Hemshech Ayin Beis ever concluded? New revelation Lessons from Netzavim-Vayeilech What is the primary lesson from this week's portion? What does the Parsha mean when it says this is “very near to you in your mouth and heart so you can do it”? Since we are concluding a Hakhel year, should we make one last stand during Elul and organize Hakhel gatherings? Is the shofar sounding also a wake-up call for Hashem? Are there situations where G-d, for whatever reason, answers our prayers only at the last possible moment? What should I tell my daughter when she argues against tzinius saying that we shouldn't be hiding the beautiful body Hashem created? How to resolve a disagreement between spouses whether to hang a picture of a historic secular activist near the picture of the Rebbe? Follow-up: Missing a day of putting on Tefillin

Episode #117: Why The Baal Shem Tov Laughed In The Middle Of The Seder
When a childless couple finally have a son after the holy Baal Shem Tov gave them a brocho, they guard the boy carefully until he disappears in a moment of carelessness. After the help of Udel, the Baal Shem Tov's daughter who brings a message of hope from her father, and months of searching, the father witnesses an open miracle and is reunited with his beloved son.
Rav Yitzchak Aryeh (Zekl Leib) Vormser, known as the Baal Shem of Michelstadt (1768-1847) was a prominent rabbi and kabbalist, who lived in Germany in the 19th century. Having studied under Rav Nosson Adler in Frankfurt, he gained renown as a ‘Baal Shem', someone who utilized kabbalistic formulas to heal petitioners and pray for their salvation. He also had a yeshiva in Michelstadt, and authored many Torah works, most of which were lost in a fire in 1825. In a rapidly secularizing German Jewish community, the Baal Shem of Michelstadt was the light of Kabbalah, and a leader who German Orthodoxy revered for decades to come. The figure of the Baal Shem Tov is larger than life. From his birth to his passing, all his travels and encounters, and the stories that accompany them, are all cloaked in “Baal Shemske” fantastical excitement. But it is not only his life story that was out of this world, it is also the impact that he had on the entire Jewish world that is incredible. To truly appreciate the work and life of the Baal Shem Tov, it is important to look back at the history leading up to the appearance of the Baal Shem Tov on the scene of Jewish life. The Baal Shem Tov arrived at a pivotal point for the Jewish masses, awakening the simple Jews and their leaders from the deep slumber of galus and desperation, towards the light and warmth of Chassidus, bringing the Jewish people ultimately on their final way towards the geulah.

You there, Theophiloi, what day is to-day? What? It's mid-November? Well, we keep the spirit of Halloween in our hearts year round on this podcast, so we're going ahead with our annual tradition of Haints 'n' Saints with a second pair of stories starring Rabbi Israel ben Eliezer, the Master of the Good Name! Join us as the Besht Around takes on an evil antisemite with an army of dinosaurs and Ninth House Bone Monsters and then turns his attention to a somewhat low-key intervention in a swamp monster murder plot. And don't worry: it ain't a real cat. Topics of Discussion: Jack Black's latest star turn, being a Dune Guy, Adrian Brody being surprisingly ripped, the origins of the piñata, Fire-Lions and Figer-tires, loose bones, microwaves that make monsters, the final boss is hogs, why it's good to know The Name, purifying yourself in the waters of lake Minnetonka, writing your sins on the driveway, beware of the Sin Blob, don't anger a body of water, Denny O'Neill is defensive, David Blaine: Professional Liar, Orphan Orange and other wild Otter Pop Lore. Hymnal: "What's New Pussycat" by Tom Jones, "Toccata in D Minor" by Richard Elliot Offertory: As Enoch writes, "Whoever of you spends gold or silver for his brother's sake, he will receive ample treasure in the world to come."
