Bronze Age Sword and Sorcery meets Military Fantasy in a lost world of long ago… Flying Ace Mason “Mace” Dickson was once a legend among fighter pilots. Now, in his middle years, that storied life is a distant memory—until NASA drafts Mace for a black book flight test. He's transported to a strange world forgotten by time, where he wakes on the desert sands of a bloody battlefield. In this land, warfare isn't fought from the skies at a distance. It's vicious and hand-to-hand, and arcane spells can kill a man just as quickly as spear or sword. Mace is pressed into service as a slave for the Black Legion, a renowned company of mercenaries under the banner of the splendid Atlantian Army of the West, currently besieging the fabled City of Serpents. The Legion is the tip of the Atlantian spear aimed straight at the heart of the power-mad Thuman Evol, who marshals red sorcerers, armored war-dinosaurs, and a host of grim fighting men to oppose them. Out of his depth, Mace is trapped in a no-holds-barred contest of gritty grunt infantry, massive war machines, and strange sorcery, where the soldiers, NCOs, and battle captains of glorious Atlantis fight the enemy and sometimes one another for eternal honor, glory, and ultimate power. In this brutal world, ruthless circumstances force Mace to face at long last his inner demons. Inspiring him to persevere is the burning desire to return to his family for one more second chance at redeeming a life he once surrendered to fading glory and the bottle. But first he must survive the crucible of deadly magicks, backstabbing intrigues, and the utter savagery that is the lost world of Atlantea... First, Mace must live through hell...

https://forums.eveonline.com/t/rots-mijnwerker-for-csm-19-your-0-0-non-bloc-and-pi-change-candidate/463110 Hello team, I am Rots Mijnwerker Leader of Out of the Blue. My history in Eve Online has always been about creating content, playing in a community, and growing with the game. My time in EVE truly started in 2005 at the age of 13, playing religiously throughout middle and highschool then well into college. Now after hitting my 30s, it's a lot easier to look back on the ebb and flow of what EVE has been. I've had the pleasure of playing with some great people and fighting others equally as great. I have been encouraged by the EVE community and truly embraced the community building aspect of what the game allows us to collaborate around. I am a very staunch PVPer and sprung headfirst into leadership and FC'ing, today providing almost nightly content for anyone who wants to go forth and shoot. Over the years I have been in many alliances. In some I was the line member or diplomat, in others I was the Head FC, or i lead my own. I have been a part of the following alliances doing my thing in some form or capacity. * Raiden * IEGEX * Red Legion. * Why So Seri0us * Nulli Secunda. * Black Legion. * Insidious. * The Blood Covenant * Darkspawn. * DARKNESS. * VINDICTIVE * FREIGHT TRAIN DIPLOMACY * WE FORM VOLTA * Out of the Blue. * WE FORM BLOB For a period, I took a hiatus and stepped away from the game as I was not happy with where CCP was investing its resources and I had lost interest. In the day and age of COVID 19 – the community was sorely missed, and loneliness set in. Something about being furloughed from the company I build theatrical scenery for and having very little people to talk to while in lock down, feeling unable to express myself in my normal artistic way. That kind of set the tone for why EVE online and the people who play it are important to me. I messaged old friends, and we reformed under the old banners, with all the old history and all the experiences we've had. Today I have an outstanding rapport with MANY groups, alliances, their leaders, and members. My areas of Expertise Content Generation (Lowsec, Nullsec and KSpace) New Player Support Fleet Commanding Fleet Concept Building Alliance Logistics Alliance Management Community Building Risk vs Reward Structure Mechanics Sov Mechanics Eve Story Telling Marketing Honest Feedback Why am i applying for CSM candidacy? The overarching goal for me in CSM 19 would be the promotion of EVE online player base growth. I am passionate about new alliances and i feel having many groups across all walks of space promotes a healthy EVE. I want to be apart of ensuring the player base feels they are getting their time's worth by downloading eve online. The reduction of space work for smaller groups making it easier for content creators to appear and become established is still also a key goal for me since last year's run for CSM 18. I have put a lot of years into the game and feel i would be a good advocate for the community that plays this game, if either by being a conduit or sharer of ideas... https://forums.eveonline.com/t/creatnos-for-csm19/462978 Hello Gamers, I am Creatnos, a once youthful kid saddened by the loss of his cormorant, now a slightly more mature kid saddened by the loss of skyhook raiding. I am running for CSM for the first time. For my Eve career I have mostly stayed out of the spotlight, so many of you probably do not know me by name, but chances are, someone you know, knows me. I started playing this game back in 2010 right around the time I was starting high school so i pretty much grew up with this game. I started off in Hisec, enjoying the day to day missioning, fighting off the mean wardeccers, and occasionally peeking into lowsec to see what real pvp was all about. Over a decade has passed and I have experienced pretty much everything this game has to offer. I participated in the Great Wars, like being a line member in a drake in DBRB fleets. Bombed armor bs fleets of old with Wrik Hoover and Cloak Squad in the south. Fought the world with Elo in Black Legion and the fcs of old in Pandemic Legion. Roamed wormhole space with Noobman and HK. Founded NSH (the original GW version). Ran faction warfare complexes and spearfished individual ships out of entire fleets. I've spent more hours than I can count practicing for Alliance Tournaments and hunting supers moving through lowsec and nullsec. The last couple of months I have enjoyed all that skyhook raiding had to offer, killing the occasional traveling super and more recently am involved in a small war that has broken out in lowsec. The reason I am running for CSM is in hopes of keeping the flame going that keeps us wanting to play this game. I have made many friends in the years I have played this game that I have known for almost 15 years and still make new friends to this day. My focus on CSM would be improvements related to PvP for those primarily in lowsec and their interactions with nullsec, as well as with nullsec as on its own. Some of the things I am interested in below. Skyhook Raiding - This is a huge content driver. Admittedly the stealing was too easy, but the proposed changes are bad. Very bad. I hope to help bring some parity to this mechanic where both the aggressor and defender want to interact with it. Equinox changes as a whole started out looking promising, but have been on a gradual decline ever since the first patch. Metenox Moon Drills - This is another big content driver, and fighting over them day in and out for the last month I have a pretty good feeling on the hp amounts that attackers and defenders have to deal with. I think some healthy changes can be made that would put these in a better state. Also I have had some shower thoughts about limiting drills to only harvesting R8 and higher. Force Projection - Eve has become significantly smaller since I started playing, and back in the day we were able to take 50 supers and go north to south in 10 minutes. Between uni wormholes, ansiblexes, zarzakh (prior to recent events), maneuvering the universe became too easy. At least in the past, the wormhole highway required people to put some effort into scanning to get around places. Fozziesov - I personally dislike ever going away from SBUs to the way sov wanding works now. I would like to see some change because the state it is in now isn't particularly fun. Capital/Supercapital Ship Changes - I think there is a lot of work that can be done to better the state of all capitals. Carrier changes were definitely a good start. I would like to see a world where people are at least somewhat interested in using their supers outside of beacons, but cost and effectiveness prevents that. Lancers being used almost exclusively for killing jump freighters also seems like a void that can be filled. Carrier fighters could use some refinement. Contact and Bookmark QOL changes - Allow for more contacts slots (currently 1024) for the purpose of NPSI fleets. Also increase shared bookmark folders from 3 to 5 and maybe add some more bookmark slots to those folders. Pochven - I personally dislike pochven in its entirety, but I especially would like to see some of the isk faucet cut down. I don't have immediate solutions for all these topics, nor do I expect to please everyone, but what I can say is that I am very good at talking to people and I regularly interact with people from all across our community. I want to hear what people's opinions are about all aspects of the game and I hope to be as transparent as possible both with you all and with CCP in hopes of bettering this game we spend too much time playing. I have a ton of experience in this game and hopefully that history can better our future. Chris talks with labor historian Dana Frank; her new book is What Can We Learn From the Great Depression? Stories of Ordinary People and Collective Action in Hard Times. The book takes a new look at working-class activism during the 1930s from the perspective of our own time, examining mutual aid, eviction protests, the expulsion of a million Mexicans, a sit-down strike by African American women working as wet-nurses, and a white supremacist fascist organization in Ohio known as the Black Legion. Dana will be in conversation with Bill Fletcher Jr. this Tuesday, October 7, at the K Street Busboys and Poets; click here for details. On this week's Labor History in Two: the year was 1918. That was the evening that a series of explosions began at the T.A. Gillespie Company near Morgan, New Jersey. This consisted of systems that had previously served as Indomitus Crusade supply hubs which were quickly fortified in their own right. However, the stalemate would soon be broken, must to the shock of both sides. Abaddon's trusted lieutenant Haarken Worldclaimer arrived with a Black Legion army.Lord Admiral Prisca's force soon arrived at the Grakiliod Narrow, a location that Haarken's fleet could not bypass. Despite heavy losses, Prisca's fleet maintained enough momentum to break through Worldclaimer's formation and burst through it on the other side. As the ships broke through, they peeled off left and right, unleashing waves of attack craft as they attacked the rear of the Chaos fleet as it was changing position. After many hours of fighting, Haarken had reorganized his fleet in a jaw-like formation ready to close on the Imperials. With his final order, hundreds of ships bore down on the Imperial armada. The exhausted loyalist Space Marines onboard stood little chance and were overwhelmed. Despite a brave final stand, the Imperial fleet was eventually annihilated.Only a fraction of the Imperial fleet survived the battle to limp back to the Sanctus Wall. Prisca herself was thought dead, and her plan had achieved questionable results. The Imperial commanders at the Sanctus Wall were disturbed by reports of the scale of the incoming Chaos armada. Meanwhile, the Inquisition continued to battle cults and hidden agents of Chaos within the worlds of the Sanctus Wall itself. Indeed, Sangua Terra, linchpin of the Sanctus Wall, is currently under mass invasion by Daemons.Support the Show.

Lester Glint joins TENE pod to recount the horrifying history of the Black Legion, one of the most important American fash networks of the interwar period, as well as one of the least understood. The Black Legion took over entire towns and government departments, unleashing a stunning period of quiet terror and assassination, all with the backing of industrial superpowers like Henry Ford. At the time, it resulted in a minor victory for the Forces of Chaos. Its temporary conclusion provided the Warmaster of Chaos Undivided, Abaddon the Despoiler of the Black Legion, and his Chaotic allies the territorial foothold they had long sought within the Cadian Gate, though the servants of the Dark Gods suffered grievous losses to their naval warfleet.Support the show
The title is a joke.....Probably.https://www.patreon.com/isyanderandkoda You already know how to please the Machine Gods at this point so thank you so much. And make your voices heard for which faction you would like to see next! -Isyander The Adeptus Custodes, a central faction in the Warhammer 40K universe, embody the ultimate guardians of the Emperor of Mankind. As the Emperor's personal bodyguards, they are unparalleled warriors, each a masterpiece of genetic engineering. Their history is deeply intertwined with the Imperium's, being involved in crucial events and conflicts throughout the galaxy.Historically, the Adeptus Custodes were originally ten thousand strong, but their numbers dwindled during the War Within the Webway. By the 41st Millennium, they restored their ranks to their original strength. They are a department of the Adeptus Terra, answerable only to the Emperor and their leaders, with the Captain-General being their chief custodian. Their ranks and titles reflect a hierarchy of respect and experience, with positions such as Shield-Captains and Tribunes holding significance. The Adeptus Custodes have engaged in numerous battles and campaigns, including the Indomitus Crusade, the Defense of Vostagraad, and the Witching Wars. Their recent activities, as noted during the Era Indomitus, involve battles against formidable enemies like the Hexarchy and the Black Legion. They are known for their participation in various crusades and wars, demonstrating their unyielding commitment to the Imperium's defense. The faction's equipment and armory are as distinctive as their warriors. Their arsenal includes advanced armors like the Allarus Terminator and Custodian Armor, various shields, and unique weaponry. They deploy formidable walkers like the Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought and vehicles such as the Caladius and Dawneagle Pattern Jetbike. Their aircraft arsenal includes the Orion Gunship and Ares Gunship, among others. They also possess relics that symbolize their heritage and prowess. The Adeptus Custodes are divided into various subdivisions and castes, such as the Hykanatoi, Sentinel Guard, and the elite Companions who serve as the Emperor's personal bodyguard. These subdivisions reflect their diverse roles and specializations within the faction.Regarding their feelings towards the Primarchs, the Adeptus Custodes view them with a mixture of respect and wariness, recognizing their power and importance to the Imperium while being cautious of their potential for betrayal or harm, as seen during the Horus Heresy.TIMESTAMPS —— 0:00:00 Silly Intro0:00:18 The actual Intro0:01:06 The Custodes0:05:24 How rare are the Custodes0:09:03 The Emperor's Closest Friends0:15:15 How are the Custodes faring Today0:18:11 What makes the Custodes special0:32:05 How they Shore up their own Weaknesses0:34:21 How do the Custodes feel about the modern Imperium0:45:57 The Aquilan Shield0:50:40 The Custodes' "Default Dans"0:51:22 The Eyes of the Emperor0:59:19 Setting their Power in Perspective1:01:50 Closing Thoughts—————————— TAGSAdeptus Custodes, Warhammer 40K, Emperor of Mankind, Imperium, Captain-General, Shield-Captains, Tribunes, Indomitus Crusade, Defense of Vostagraad, Witching Wars, Hexarchy, Black Legion, Allarus Terminator Armor, Custodian Armor, Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought, Caladius, Dawneagle Jetbike, Orion Gunship, Ares Gunship, Hykanatoi, Sentinel Guard, Companions, Primarchs, Horus Heresy.————————————Opinions expressed in this video are solely those of Isyander & Koda and in no way reflect the views or opinions of Games Workshop Ltd.Support the show

The TENE film club meets again to take on the dreaded Black Legion! The boys watch two films, Legion of Terror (1936) and Black Legion (1937) starring Humphrey Bogart, as well as two radio plays, an episode of True Detective Mysteries (1937) and another entitled "The White Legion" (1938) on the original superhero serial, The Shadow. They compare these representations to the actual white supremacist terrorists and examine how each piece of media reflects the political culture of interwar America in its own way. In 1937, Warner Brothers released a film attacking the rise of hate groups in America that were terrorizing immigrants and minorities. Humphrey Bogart stars in this extraordinary movie. After the Second World War, a lot of what had been happening in the U.S. before the war was swept under the rug and forgotten. Nazism and fascism were seen as things that happened in Germany and Italy, an evil that caused the rest of the world to unite in order to defeat it. But the fact is, these political movements had supporters in just about every country in Europe, and the United States. Antisemitism was pretty mainstream, and the rhetoric from such prominent men as Charles Lindbergh and Henry Ford was in line with what Hitler was saying. The color line was absolutely in force as well—black Americans were segregated off from white society in every important respect. But for the most part, the movies ignored all that, presenting a world of adventure, comedy, dancing, music, and escapism to audiences during the Depression. Political topics were discouraged, both by the powerful forces in American society and the studios themselves, that didn't want to disturb people, because that could potentially drive them away from movies, thus not spending the money in theaters that kept Hollywood going. Among the studios, however, Warner Brothers was something of an exception. Their stories were aimed more at working people in the cities, and they produced a lot of social problem pictures such as Dead End and I Was a Prisoner on a Chain Gang. One of the most unusual of such films, released in 1937 and directed by Archie Mayo, was called Black Legion. Humphrey Bogart plays a factory worker named Frank Taylor, happily married with kids, who is expecting and looking forward to a promotion, when he can provide better support for his family. But to his shock and surprise, he gets passed over for this promotion by someone with a Polish sounding name, an immigrant who has worked hard and stayed up nights learning the business. While he simmers with resentment, a co-worker tells him about a secret vigilante group called The Black Legion, that commits violent acts against foreigners and immigrants who they say are stealing American jobs. If you join them, he is told, you must pledge total secrecy and loyalty to the Legion. Frank agrees to join, and when the Legion meets we see that they wear hoods and practice cult-like loyalty ceremonies. They get rid of Frank's rival and thanks to them, he gets the promotion. But the Legion's demands on his loyalty end up putting a strain on his relationship with his wife and best friend. If you're expecting a simplistic happy outcome here, the film presents a bracing and uncomfortable reality instead. Bogart hadn't yet become the big star he would be in the ‘40s. He was mostly doing supporting roles, often as villains. Although he's kind of a villain here too, he plays the main character, and the drama consists in his inner struggle between his decent impulses and the hatred against other groups that gradually takes over his mind and heart. It's a very effective performance. The story, by Robert Lord, was inspired by an actual anti-immigrant group in Michigan. But there are pointed similarities to the Ku Klux Klan as well. The Klan had become a powerful and widely accepted group in America, and it actually sued Warner Brothers because the movie used a Klan symbol in one of the scenes, but a judge threw out their case. There's no mention of Jews or Blacks in the film—there were things you just couldn't say in those days and be accepted in the mainstream of the entertainment industry. But the implications are clear, and watching this now is kind of scary because of the relevanc
