José Vázquez, conocido artísticamente como Poli Marchoso, es un policía local de Oviedo ya jubilado que continúa impartiendo educación vial en infantil y primaria. Tras 37 años de servicio, mantiene una actividad docente intensa apoyada en actuaciones en colegios y teatros, con una puesta en escena que combina música original, narración y humor para fijar hábitos seguros desde edades tempranas. Su metodología se basa en canciones propias con coreografías sencillas, cambios de voz, cuentos breves y el uso de títeres. “Tuca”, una perrita traviesa, y “Zapito”, un sapo que todo lo hace “al revés”, funcionan como detonantes para que el alumnado identifique errores y los corrija en voz alta. Esta dinámica convierte a los niños en agentes activos de la norma y consolida el aprendizaje por contraste, además de sostener la atención de grupos numerosos durante 30–40 minutos. Los contenidos que trabaja de forma recurrente cubren pilares esenciales de la seguridad vial: uso universal del cinturón y de los sistemas de retención infantil, señalización con intermitentes, prioridad y cesión de paso en glorietas, control emocional y de las distracciones al volante, y mantenimiento básico con foco en neumáticos. Integra experiencias personales para hacer tangible el riesgo, como un reventón por desgaste interior no visible, y lo transforma en letra y gestos que el alumnado recuerda y repite. En su repertorio destacan piezas temáticas como “La sillita y el cinturón”, centrada en retención infantil y cinturón en todas las plazas, “Intermitentes”, que refuerza la señalización previa a cualquier maniobra, y “Román el Caimán”, dedicada a la agresividad y las discusiones durante la conducción, con un estribillo que el propio menor puede usar como recordatorio amable a los adultos. El objetivo pedagógico explícito es que niñas y niños trasladen a casa mensajes de seguridad y actúen como recordatorio positivo en el vehículo familiar. El enfoque de Poli Marchoso prioriza el “enganche” emocional para activar la memoria a largo plazo: música, baile y risa abren la puerta a conceptos técnicos que después se convierten en hábitos. Esta combinación de estímulo afectivo y precisión didáctica facilita que los menores interioricen conductas seguras y que cuestionen, con respeto, prácticas inseguras observadas en su entorno. Su trabajo se difunde mediante sesiones escolares programadas y publicaciones audiovisuales. Mantiene un canal de YouTube bajo el nombre “El Poli Marchoso”, desde el que comparte piezas musicales y materiales didácticos que pueden reutilizar docentes y familias. La propuesta funciona como un puente entre educación formal, prevención y cultura popular, con un lenguaje accesible que no simplifica los mensajes críticos de seguridad.

This is the song today:Clube da Esquina No2 by Lô Borges (Borges/Nascimento)In 1969, Milton Nascimento and teenager Lô Borges wrote the song "Clube da Esquina" for the album "Milton"(1970). Two years later, they released a sequel, written for their 1972 eponymous album, which tops many lists of the best Brazilian records of all time. "Clube da Esquina No2" was entirely instrumental, with lyrics added seven years later, which became the most poignant song against the military regime. This second version was recorded by Lô Borges in 1979 on his album Via Láctea. In this episode, we tell the history of it all, from music to lyrics, and everybody involved in producing one of the best Brazilian songs ever recorded. The episode is a tribute to the brilliant Lô, who was 19 when he wrote the song, and passed away in November at the age of 73.
