What's the true definition of a short track? Is Iowa a short track? Why is everyone rearranging Dale's furniture!? Dale's coming out of the gates hot today with a passionate opinion on what classifies a track as a ‘short track' compared to an ‘intermediate,' debating TJ  for a good ten minutes straight. The three talk about what Iowa should do with the repave, how Ty Gibbs kept Christopher Bell from victory lane, and that the complaints about the racing aren't a Next Gen problem. The gang also discusses how the Chase standings have shifted after contenders and pretenders continue to be separated, including Ty Gibbs catapulting to second in points after his victory. Dale gives his perspective on why reducing the number of cars in The Chase field would help the storylines around the fight to get in, and talks about how NASCAR's rule about changing brake pads is something that needs to be rethought. He also touches on Carson Kvapil's second straight O'Reilly Series victory, and why they can be contenders for the championship.  Ty Gibbs also joins to talk about his breakout season, his mom's impact on his life, and why he believes taking away the digital mirror would take drivers out of the Cup Series. Dirty Mo Dough and Ask Jr wrap up another exciting episode of Dirty Air.  Check out Dirty Mo Media on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@DirtyMoMedia Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Tommy starts us off how only he can, and it doesn't take long for us to get knee-deep in all things San Diego. The crew discusses the racing that happened over the weekend, from Tyler Reif coming so close to Sam Mayer's massive hit. In Spot On, Spot Off, the topics were: - Was San Diego better than Chicago and Mexico City? - Could Corey Heim have been a playoff contender this year in Cup? - Discussing Taylor Gray's move on Carson Kvapil - Jimmie Johnson's comments on the lack of respect in the Truck Series As usual, we get to hear from our fans, and one of them *allegedly* used their one phone call from jail to join the show. After that, we hear from NASCAR's Jerry Kaproth on everything that went into making the race at San Diego happen — and how Ty Gibbs almost blew the surprise. In Ask DBC, we ask Bozi to power rank pit crews and Ray Evernham about when he knew Jeff Gordon was a future G.O.A.T. They round it all out with DBC Picks and weekend winners, which didn't hit the same without Freddie — so he needs to come back soon! Catch you guys next time on DBC. On the dawn of a life-changing opportunity, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is joined by up-and-coming racer Carson Kvapil this week on the Dale Jr. Download. Carson and his father Travis, longtime NASCAR competitor and 2003 NASCAR Truck Champion, join the show to share the announcement that he will be racing full-time for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next year. After impressing the racing world with back-to-back CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car championships in 2022/23 racing for JRM, Carson made his Xfinity debut for the team earlier this year at Martinsville, where he produced an impressive fourth-place finish. He followed this up by nearly winning at Dover, where he settled for runner-up behind Ryan Truex, a result that still haunts him today.Dale first began watching Carson closely when the decision needed to be made as to who was going to replace Josh Berry in JRM's late model stock program. Dale explains that his sister  Kelley and husband LW Miller noticed Carson while racing at Millbridge Speedway in the outlaw karts division and made the recommendation. Carson realized he had big shoes to fill in Berry's absence, but it's a task he's managed quite well with multiple marquee wins and season crowns. This past weekend, Carson brought home the most coveted trophy in late model stock car racing: the ValleyStar 300 at Martinsville.Dale shares that he enjoys working with the Kvapil family as Travis allows JRM crew chief Bryan Shaffer to run the show and Carson the opportunity to learn from the team. Dale and Travis both laud Carson's hard work ethic, as he continues to turn wrenches on his family's late model for his younger brother Caden while working in the JRM shop. This weekend, Carson prepares for his Talladega Xfinity debut where he'll once again be behind the wheel of the number-88 JRM entry.21+ and present in North Carolina.
