Actor Nelson Lee made his first appearance on the podcast when he was guest-starring in Stargirl, playing the Dragon King. After that episode was recorded, Lee teased that he was working on something big and that he couldn't tell a soul. Fast forward to 2023 when the Star Wars series "Ahsoka" premiered on Disney+. Lee's "big project" was to play Hamato Xiono in the new series. Xiono's character originated in the Star Wars animated series Resistance. The big moment in Episode 7 of Ahsoka, is when Lee shares the screen with Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, a two-time veteran of this podcast (Episodes 327 and 343). Paul Sun-Hyung Lee reprised his role as Carson Teva from the Mandalorian series and the mini-series Book of Boba Fett. That scene also features a Star Wars icon, but that story should be told by Nelson himself.

WHAT AN EPISODE! We travel to the World Between Worlds in Star Wars Ahsoka Part 5 Shadow Warrior. Alerted by a noise at the Henge she finds only Huyang holding Sabine's helmet recalling that he told them both to stay together. While the X-Wings sweep the nearby forest for Sabine and Ahsoka, Jacen Syndulla senses lightsabers clashing above the noise of the crashing waves as he senses Ahsoka's presence in the World Between Worlds and reveals to his mother Hera and Huyang his own connection with the Force. Hera orders the X-Wings to begin sweeping the coastline for Ahsoka. In the World Between Worlds, Anakin explains to Ahsoka that he had been watching her through the Force and deduces that her loss with Baylon Skoll is partially due to her unresolved guilt over the events that drove them apart.He is here to continue their training and gives her the choice to “live or die” as his lightsaber ignites. As they duel Ahsoka has the bridge taken from beneath her and falls into a battle where she relives fragments of her past with Anakin during the Clone Wars. But Ahsoka doesn't want to simply be a Jedi of war and refuses Anakin's teachings, determined to not be held to the legacy of her Master's past nor those of his Masters from before. Her refusal leads to another duel between them, which Ahsoka wins and chooses to live, accepting that she wasn't part of the reason for Anakin's downfall. Ahsoka is recovered by Hera's crew after being picked up on Chopper's scanner. Once she has recovered she uses her powers to learn that Sabine is with Baylon Skol. As she contemplates what to do she sees the Purrgil overhead and realises there is another way to find the Pathway to Peridia. Ahsoka reaches the halfway point of the season by visiting the "World Between Worlds" introduced in the animated series, Rebels. If you had that on your bingo card, congratulations. It's not that odds weren't great that Dave Filoni would take his creation to another time and space...err, place, but animation doesn't always translate well to live action. I suppose we've already crossed that stream, haven't we? Ahsoka wins one fight and loses another because she burns her hand with a power-filled map. Sabine fights to a stalemate then gives up because she's too attached to Ezra. Shin Hati gets petty. Morgan Elsbeth succeeds in her quest. Hera and Carson Teva survive an "eye of Sion" maneuver in an episode that cribs a big line (used in trailers) from The Lord of the Rings. It turns out Hera didn't need a pirate. She does bring Jacen along for a dangerous journey and Chopper, well, he was made for that. Did Anakin "pull" an Ezra and pull Ahsoka to safety? Is he going to finish what he started on Malachor or does this manifestation even know about that yet. After already establishing his stage and screen career, Lee grew to international fame when the hit CBC show Kim's Convenience debuted on Netflix. Lee played Appa on this hilarious sitcom. The show had a great impact on his life, and lead to his Star Wars connections. Joon Lee played Umma, Simu Liu of Shang-Chi and Barbie fame played the son Jung. Andrea Bang played Janet. we see the new republic HQ as they're hanging out and playing pool, we meetup with carson teva, new republic pilot from season 2 who offered cara dune a job. He plays the hologram from greef carga who's asking for his help. Zebb walks up to him, and this is his live action debut. Zebb was in Rebels and he was part of the crew with ezra, hera, kanan, and chopper. It's great seeing him in live action, and i think his appearance is perhaps a foreshadowing of ezra and thrawn. In fact, maybe he's just stationed there to get intel on moff gideon's transport time and date, so that sabine could escort him out and get information on where Thrawn is, leading them to Ezra. This theory comes from one of you during the watch party last night, and your reasoning for this was because beskar was found on the ship, this beskar could be sabine's. Personally, I think it was mandalorians related to death watch, loyal to maul. Carson Teva shows the hologram of Greef Carga to corsucant's new republic HQ, colonel tuttle which is like the main center for it. He denies him approval to help, as G86 walks in after seeing Carson in there. She is still playing the new republic, and i think she still works for moff gideon. Carson mentions moff gideon having never made it to trial, and G86 is seen looking down in discomfort. She says a pretty imperial thing, by saying Navarro 7 may now see the importance of joining the new republic by essentially suffering. New republic denies help to nevarro 7, and carson takes it upon himself to go find the mandalorian. He tracks them down via R5's transponder. He tells them about Greef Carga's message, and then leaves. Din speaks to the clan, holding the armorer's hammer, which is like a talking stick type of thing. Mando pleads his case to save Greef Carga, who he says has had a change of heart against mandalorians, and that imperials were the ones who decimated the mandalorians, not Carga. He proposes they all live on navarro 7 as Greef has offered him land, and may offer them land too. Carson Teva comes across an abandoned Lamda T4A shuttle. It looks heavily attacked. He speaks with the New Republic, and they find out its the ship that transported moff gideon. The ship has no survivors yet moff gideon's body is missing. The flight crew are frozen from space. Carson Teva notices something embedded in the wall, it's a piece of beskar, and they deduce that moff gideon was broken out of there by mandalorians. So, this could be one of two things. Either death watch, a very rugged and violent group of mandalorians did indeed break moff gideon out, which is believable since he did hold the dark saber at one point, meaning he accrued a following of some kind, a following that may still be very loyal to him. Or the other option is that he framed mandalorians by putting a piece of beskar there to throw the new republic off their tracks. The third option here is that he's just paying mandalorians with beskar, as we know he has tons. I personally think he actually was freed from mandalorians who were perhaps loyal to darth maul once, and now loyal to moff gideon. I think once Bo Katan goes to unite these kinds of mandalorians, she will come to a very rude awakening and perhaps be captured herself, luring Din Djarin out to Moff Gideon, who will challenge him to a duel and this time win, claiming the dark saber for himself once again, and him being the one to rule all of the mandalorians. Bo-Katan and her reconnaissance squad retreat from Moff Gideon's base. Upon returning to the Mandalorian flagship, Axe Woves sends the remaining Mandalorians to reinforce the planetary troops, while he defends the ship from Imperial TIE squadrons. With assistance from Grogu, Din Djarin escapes from captivity and seeks out Gideon. Djarin and Grogu discover cloning tanks filled with clones of Gideon, and Djarin destroys them. After a lengthy skirmish between the Mandalorians and the beskar-enhanced stormtroopers within the base, Bo-Katan, Djarin, and Grogu make a final stand against Gideon and his Praetorian Guards, in which the Darksaber is destroyed. Woves rams the Mandalorian capital ship into the Imperial base and Gideon is consumed by the resulting blast; Grogu protects Bo-Katan and Djarin from the blast with a force bubble. After the battle, the Mandalorians restart the Great Forge at the heart of Mandalore and Djarin formally adopts Grogu. Acclaimed Canadian Actor Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is Carson Teva in the Star Wars Universe shows The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The story of how Lee, a big-time Star Wars fan, came to be part of the canon is a focus of this week's episode. After already establishing his stage and screen career, Lee grew to international fame when the hit CBC show Kim's Convenience debuted on Netflix. In Folge 05 der dritten Staffel von The Mandalorian geht es drunter und drüber. Nevarro wird von Piraten angegriffen, und die Neue Republik soll helfen. Das klappt aber leider nicht, da Elia Kane dazwischenfunkt, und somit Carson Teva und seinem Vorhaben in die Suppe spuckt. Also fliegt dieser zu den Mandalorianern, (deren Position er kennt, da R5 ein Verräter ist) und diese machen sich nach Nevarro auf, um die Piraten platt zu machen. Außerdem wird Bo-Katan von der Schmiedin zur Mandalorianerin, die alle Stämme vereinen wird, ernannt, weswegen sie auch den Helm wieder abnehmen darf. Mittendrin finden die Mandalorianer auch eine neue Heimat, in der sie keine Angst mehr vor Krokodilen und Drachen haben müssen, und Carson Teva erfährt, dass Moff Giddeon auf dem Weg ins Gefängnis befreit wurde… und zwar ausgerechnet von Mandalorianern. Wer gerne wissen würde, wie ich zu diesen ganzen Inhalten stehe, was ich vom generellen Piraten-Feeling der Folge halte, und wo sich zwischen Zeb und Billard-spielenden Piloten ein Cowboy-Regisseur versteckt hat, der sollte unbedingt in die Folge reinhören…

Just last week Ahmed Best took Kelleran Beq from internet game show to Star Wars canon. This week, Garazeb Orellios went from animated in an animated series to...well, okay, computer generated and animated in live action. It was still great to see a Rebels character come to life! Okay, we saw Ahsoka do that last season. Hey, you get my point! Did you ever think we'd see the Armorer tell someone to take it off? The helmet I mean. I mean, this isn't the way, is it? I guess it is now, since she's hear the true tale of the Mythosaur on Mandalore. Ooh, that's a good title. There's blaster battles, dogfights in ships, Rodians running interference, SNL cast members annoyed with droids, and the Armorer handing off hammers and smacking them in alien faces. Good stuff! Mandalorians get a piece of the promised land in the lava flats of Nevarro and that's great timing since R5-D4 can't keep secrets. Sorry, Capitan Azul, you gots ta go. Here's hoping Carson Teva gets an action figure soon. We haven't bought one in a while, but if I was a cosplayer, I might have found my wheelhouse. This was a short episode. Oh, of the podcast? Sure, but wow this one would have needed to be stacked with commercials to fit an hour slot. In these streaming days, well, no such trouble. Yes, I know last week's description seems similar and that's purposeful when you consider the difference between the lengths. This episode was the shortest of the series! I went this far before bringing up Ahmed Best. Are you proud of me? I don't think I'll ever warm to Jar Jar Binks, but the man suffered a great deal for doing the job he was hired to do. He's also a lover of Star Wars and that's always alright in my book. If I was a betting man, I'd say we're going to see most of the remaining scenes from the season three trailer in the 5th episode of the season. If there is anything left, it might be the Carson Teva stuff. We left off on the planet with the covert, so the remaining scenes of the Mandalorians there and on Nevarro probably are next. Will we check back in with Dr. Pershing and Elia Kane? Will we get a through thread bridging seasons three and four? Will we get more nurture and admonition in the Mandalorian culture or has everyone "leveled up" enough this season? So many questions, but this kind of storytelling is why we fell in love with the show in the first place. We have reached the halfway point of the third season and it's not all downhill from here!
