A Historic Bodo Peace Accord was signed between the Centre, the Assam government and Bodo stakeholders (NDFB and its factions) today. The Accord saw the announcement of various measures to ensure the territorial and cultural integrity of the region. Several institutes will be set up to bring growth and development to the region. The agreement fully reaffirms the territorial integrity of Assam, said Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. A committee set up by state government will look at the inclusion of new villages that has a substantial population of tribal people within Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD). The ones with no substantial Bodo tribal population will be excluded, Sarma said. According to the agreement, BTAD will be renamed Bodoland Territorial Region More legislative, executive, administrative, financial powers will be given to the authorities within the region from now on. Bodo with Devnagri script will now become Associate official language for the entire state of Assam A Central university in the name of Upendranth Brahma will be established within Bodoland area. National Sports University; Institute of Livelihood management, Regional medical institute; tribal university, rural development centre, veterinary college, music and fine art college and many more centres will be set up in the region to ensure progress. Non-Bodo organizations like All Koch Rajbongshi Students Union, All Bodo Minority Students Union, All Adivasi Students Union, Kalita Janagosthi Students Union, and many others have called for 12-hour bandh in Assam post-signing of the historic Bodo peace Accord on Monday. Baksa, Chirang, Udalguri and Kokrajhar which fear greater intervention of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) within their region remained on the edge. According to reports effigies were burnt, roads were blocked and shops remained shut. Celebrations broke out in Bodo dominated regions where the accord was welcomed. The United Liberation Front of Assam Independent (ULFA-I) has claimed responsibility for the five blasts that shook Upper Assam on the 71st Republic Day. In a press statement, ULFA(I) clearly stated that the serial blasts in the morning hours ahead of the Republic Day celebrations were executed by their group. The first blast took place at Teokghat Tiniali of Sonari under Charaideo District, the second blast took place near Duliajan Police Station, the third blast took place at Marwari patty near Gurudwara in Dibrugarh, the fourth blast near Circuit House in Graham Bazaar in Dibrugarh and fifth Doomdooma near 8 no bridge in Tinsukia District. More than 29,700 passengers from 137 flights have been screened for coronavirus infection at seven identified airports in the country until Sunday. As of now, no positive cases have been detected, according to the Union Health Ministry. “A girl in Bihar's Chapra (Saran district) who returned from China, is hospitalized after showing the similar symptoms to those of the rapidly spreading novel coronavirus. Now she is on the way to Patna, where she'll be admitted at PMCH,” the superintendent of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) was quoted by ANI. Another case came up when a doctor in Rajasthan, who also returned from China, showed some symptoms of the infection. The suspected patient's blood sample will be sent to National Institute of Virology in Pune, said officials from the state's health department. Apart from that, more than 100 people have been kept under observation in Kerala and Maharashtra for screening purposes to check the spread of this infection, informed the Prime Minister's Office. In China the virus has killed at least 80 individuals and infected nearly 2800 in the country so far.

Party Favorz is currently in a wrap-up mode.  Meaning, I'm trying to get out as much finished product as possible because of upcoming interruptions in my daily life.  To be certain, it's complicated but I've got a lot on my plate and may be displaced in about a month or so. For you folks, that's good news because your thirst gets quenched much sooner before it runs dry. So for now, I'm sending up the Spring Edition 2015, which is a slamming set featuring some of the biggest beats hot off the circuit!  This is a monster, so be sure to consume slowly or you might overheat. Probably the single most important aspect of EDM in 2014 is the DJ.  In general, DJs are more than what their title implies.  They are also, producers and artists in their own right.  While many get their satisfaction by spinning in local clubs, a good many more regenerate and/or reinvigorate other musicians music by adding their own stamp on the original production.  Thank the EDM gods for bootlegs because, without them, the whole scene would be one giant cookie cutter factory and frankly, I wouldn't be wasting my breath here and now. Then there are the actual EDM masters who not only re-work others music but produce their own original dance works and embark on these massive tours that resemble a rock concert complete with pyrotechnics and imagery that rivals even Madonna's tour spectacles.  While most manage to etch out a decent living, it's these masters at their craft that have gone on to become mega-million generating entities in and of themselves.  Tiesto (which these days is all about branding and ghost producers), Angello + Ingrosso (formerly Swedish House Mafia less one), Avicii, Calvin Harris and even a douche like Deadmau5 (whose gimmicky glowing mouse-head is still a money-factory) are part of a growing elite whose influence in the industry has the almighty major labels courting them. In some instances, the major labels have sought out young promising talent and turned them into superstars.  Zedd is a perfect example of this.  Busting out strong in 2013, he continued his influence this year with his signature sound that even he is trying to break away from.  Based on some early tweets, look for something fresh and new from him in 2015.  I for one am looking forward to seeing what he has up his sleeves. Newcomer Martin Garrix exploded this year with his EDM blockbuster Animals.  Duke Dumont lead the 90s house music revival with I Got U.  The Chainsmokers exploded with #Selfie and are now the in-demand producers for a lot of commercial artists not to mention producing their own originals like Kanye (another hit from the year).  Then you've got Norwegian producer Cosmic Dawn whose sanitized EDM-pop remixes appeal to a broader audience.  There's no doubt this guy (much like Calvin Harris) manufactures ear-candy for the masses and have carved out their own niche of this ever-growing pie.  Despite a recent critique of mine about a song Bjorn (CD) remixed, it was really aimed more at the actual song by a self-entitled princess than it was at him.  He weighed in and defended his choice but did it with class.  I just want to reciprocate by saying I have nothing but respect for him and his work and look forward to hearing more from him in 2015. Last year's DJ Laszlo and Danny Verde came charging into 2014, but by the second half, their output has been considerably more restrained.  I can only assume their mass popularity has them busy hopping around the globe limiting their time for new productions.  No sweat there, I'm certain they know where the money's at and what pays the bills LOL.  Still, I look forward to some new tunes from them this coming year as well. I've also been pouring over my list of DJs to look out for in 2015 and this year I'm gonna prop up Guy Scheiman.  Guy has already landed three of the top Billboard mixes this year and is likely on to bigger and better things this next year.  Straddling the line between Circuit House and a more progressive EDM tone, he's managed to revive (whether intentional or not) the classic Stock Aitken Waterman sound from the 80s by infusing it with today's modern tribal-electric soundscape and introducing it to a whole new audience.  His mix of Azealea Banks  Chasing Time is masterful and simply mind-blowing.  He is crafting a sound that draws from today's scene while staking out his own territory.  Expect more copycats in 3, 2, 1 … I'd be remiss if I didn't give notice to one of the most influential and talented DJ/producers who have established a rema...
