Welcome back, studio owners. If you've ever considered adding an instructor training program to your studio's offerings, this episode is for you. Today, we're talking with Suzy Levi of Defining You Business Consulting. A little bit about Suzi: Suzy is a Pilates and fitness trainer, Teacher Trainer, workshop presenter, and Business Consultant for Pilates, fitness, and wellness businesses. She's spent 30 years working in the wellness space, both in a big corporate setting and owning and running her own boutique studio in St Paul, Minnesota. Here's a quick rundown of what we covered: Suzy's studio experience and her journey towards adding a teacher training program. Why does Suzy like this approach over other revenue streams? (ie. Retail, expanding services, retreats, corporate wellness programs?) When is a good time for a studio to add an instructor training program? Should they be open for a certain amount of time? What's the experience level needed to pull something like this off? How hard is it to fill a teacher training program? What are some of the best ways Suzy has found to do that? Open House Q&As are a common promotion before teacher training. Has Suzy found these to be effective? Do smaller workshops throughout the year build to the big enrollments? How has having the ‘school' element influenced Suzy's studio's brand? What about client retention? Other tips for marketing a successful teacher training program. Why testimonials matter. Why you shouldn't rely solely on digital marketing. If someone is listening and thinking that adding a training program would be a great next step for their studio, how should they start? What are the things they need to get the ball rolling? Connect with Suzy https://www.suzylevi.com/

Have you always wanted to talk to a Burlesque dancer? Me too! I met Kellita last year at a virtual event and was immediately drawn to her spark and playfulness. As a five-time finalist at the Burlesque Hall of Fame, she's had a lifelong journey in dance, but also in finding her soul and our conversation did not disappoint! We talked about living fully alive and witnessed, diving deep into the concept that to perform (or live, really) fully embodied, make it feel good to YOU! And that resonance will allow others to feel good too!Take a listen! You can find her online at her website, where this took my breath away..."The most compelling part of burlesque for me is to make the soul and spirit visible via the body.To make the mind, the heart, the body (the animal self), the soul and the spirit all visible via the body. And to carry and exude that presence and visible essence into all of life."Or listen to her TEDx talk on the Power of Being Seen. I had the pleasure of talking with Kellita today aboutKellita Maloof is a Conscious Burlesque Mentor, Teacher Trainer and TEDx speaker lovingly known as the Showgirl Shaman. She works at the intersection of burlesque, attachment, individuation, somatics, autoimmune recovery and soul retrieval. For 20+ years, she's been helping kind, highly sensitive women spaceholders + creatives who've been over-editing, over-adapting and over-giving – and are attracted to dance theater, expressive performance art and glitter – to trust and express themselves with confidence, presence and radiance. Offering great options for both martial and performance choreography applications. Sensei De Longis created and refined his “De Longis Rolling Loop” methodology based on five decades of European sword training with Maestro Ralph Faulkner, Filipino bladed weapons with Guro Dan Inosanto and Japanese katana with Kaiso Toshishiro Obata and Sensei Mathew Lynch. He often refers to the whip as a 'super-sonic flexible blade'. His unique methods utilize structure and alignment to produce explosive accurate energy with maximum efficiency and minimum effort and offers a variety of precision strikes and body envelopments at Long Range. The De Longis method also employs effective Medium and Close Range combative applications utilizing the companion hand as well as the Baton, Punyo / Pommel and ‘Big Loop' Thong for striking, redirecting, trapping and submission techniques. Sensei De Longis invited Senior Grand Master Ron Lew to join the exploration. SGM Lew developed his own unique close range bullwhip martial arts form called the Tibetan Wave, based on his work in Tai Chi, Tibetan energy work, and Cacoy Canete Doces Pares Eskrima and Eskrido. When life gets tough, most of the time, people just want easy answers. So they seek for answers outside of themselves - online, in relationships, at work. And while some external findings do bring forth temporary clarity, it's never the clarity that brings forth long-lasting results. The answers most of us are seeking are answers that are only found when we stop searching outside of us and turn inward. Two years living as a sannyasin (yogic monk) at an ashram and eight years fully immersed in a guru-based, Tantric Yogic tradition, Hilary Jackendoff ultimately came to the realization that she would never find the freedom she was seeking if she kept searching outside of her Self. In this conversation, we expand on the journey of turning inward and learning how to be (as well as the importance of being) our own teacher. Hilary is an Ashram-trained Yoga Nidra and Meditation Teacher, Teacher Trainer, and Human Design Reader. She has also studied Tibetan Buddishm with Dolpo Tulki Rainpoche with the Karma Tashi Ling Buddhist Society. What to expect in the Yoga In Norway episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast Jannice used to have a “hardcore life,” as she says. She was struggling to find joy, her body was tired, and she was partying all the time. One day, she walked by a small yoga studio ran by Tibetan monks in Oslo. She felt the urge to go and one day she walked through the doors, and began doing courses and training there. After that studio closed, she sought out another yoga studio in Oslo and ended up at an Ashtanga Yoga studio, and then came to YogaWorks. After a really difficult time in her life, and doctors prescribed antidepressants and then more and more pills, Jannice said enough was enough. She went to a psychiatrist and realized that what the psychiatrist was telling her was really yoga philosophy. What she really needed was yoga. Yoga should come with a big warning. You have to see yourself. You have to face yourself. For more of Jannice's insight on the big warnings that yoga should come with, and for more about yoga in Norway, tune into the whole podcast episode and tap into our beautiful conversation! About Mira Binzen: Mira is the Co-Founder and Director of Training at Global Family Yoga. As a Yoga Life Stylist, Yoga Therapist, and Teacher Trainer, she has dedicated her life to the well-being of children and families. In this episode, Adam and Mira discuss: The difference between stress and anxietyHow anxiety impacts the whole familyGetting comfortable with discomfort Mira's non-medical prescription for kids that face anxiety Key Takeaways:Stress is a normal physical response triggered by events or situations, whereas anxiety is the body's reaction to stress. When either of these conditions becomes chronic, it may begin to negatively affect our quality of life.A parent who has anxious children knows that they have anxiety too, so learn how to manage your own anxiety and communicate effectively - it will help you understand what's going on and shift out of that state, which is essential for holding your child's anxious feelings as they develop.Wellness begins with a relaxed and calm mind and body, and growth and progress occur when we get comfortable with the uncomfortable.Make meditation a part of your daily habits. Embrace a six-minute morning routine every day so that you are aware of and recognize the importance of feeling connected to your body. "Kids can meditate easier than grownups. So don't think that your flighty little child can't meditate because they can and they will, it's a matter of making it a priority, making a commitment, and sticking with it." – Mira Binzen Connect with Mira Binzen:Website: https://www.anxioustoawesome.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mirabinzenTwitter: https://twitter.com/OMMira Connect With Adam Weber:Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditate Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9ABook: Meditation Not Medicine Show Notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. — “Applying the 'Human Awakeness' to the Soul Awareness was quite fascinating. Nothing in the house belonged to me. I had absolutely no bond with anything (I even 'forgot' I had my own family) yet I had everything I 'needed' within me. The Soul has access to zillions of realities (think strings of choice) whilst also fully present and detached — un-emotional but not 'cold' — in each 'choice'. Stating that a lesson was complete meant the string/path was released and a new path followed. Never was 'incarnation' used but it was always 'path' - to access the lessons required. Each path was in a new vehicle (form as tree/human/animal) I also loved the *FACT* of a Soul's knowing that 'we are all well' - I wasn't asking but merely stating a truth from a Soul level. My strongest message from this: ***The Soul has no doubt or dependency. The lack of attachment felt whole*** “ — Writes Nitya Valeria Teles interviews Nitya Lynda McIntosh — She has decades of experience working with Energy Healing and Multi-Dimensional Living founding a pioneering Wellbeing Centre in Scotland focusing on Multi-Dimensional and heart-based living. She has early childhood memories of channeling and telepathy, is an Energy Healer Practitioner and Teacher Trainer, Crystal Healer, Yoga Siromani, and Reflexologist. She learnt Transcendental Meditation (T.M) in 1986. Spiritually she works as an empath, channel, psychic, medium, is a Lemurian elder, works with Ascended Masters, Angels, Archangels, Galactic Beings, brought a new vibration Trovak (TM) energy to people, works with Lady Gaia, Stone Circles, ancient monuments and any other landmarks which connect with her. She continues her energy work transforming fear-based living into healing, connected, loving vibrations – within herself, her business and her clients. Her formula to wellbeing, over decades of experience is: — Integrity to fearlessly live the authentic truth of who we are; — Empowerment to be true to who you are, which, by nature opens opportunity for others into empowerment; — Growth in all areas as we embody these practices Nitya works with the 'Spirit' of the person, aiding conscious, heart-based living; making life more meaningful and fulfilling. There's enough to go around in the world; the old 'dog-eat-dog' paradigm has no place in wellbeing. Nitya goes to the 'seed' of the issue, not papering over the cracks for it to appear somewhere else in the future Her methodology helps people understand and heal themselves in a compassionate manner, with clients finding relief from anxiety, depression, inner child issues, trauma, addictions, low self-esteem. Break The Matrix: Wake up to your Dream Life with Tiffany Paul
Today, Hilary Jackendoff shares her effortless approach to expansion, evolution and embracing the new paradigm of work. This was a hilariously "difficult" convo on ease and effortlessness and we laughed a lot along the way. We also get real and raw about the challenges we face embracing the new paradigm since it can be hard to break away from old conditioning that tells us we need to work harder, push ourselves and sacrifice our well being to achieve our goals. We are also both Projectors in human design and dig into the specific challenges this design can face and how we can help lead the way in embracing the shift in how the world works. Learn more about Hilary's offerings at www.meditationchick.com and connect with her on Instagram after show @meditationchick.Please stay in touch with us after the show on Instagram!@tiffanynicolepaul@dreamlifepodcast@thesleptlifeMore about our guest:Hilary Jackendoff began studying Tantric Yoga in 2008, following a powerful experience with Yoga Nidra at an ashram in New Zealand. After spending time in India, she spent two years formally training and living as a resident at an ashram in Australia, where her academic background in Western and Eastern Philosophy led her to become a bit of a yoga nerd. As a Yoga Nidra & Meditation teacher and Teacher Trainer, Hilary's nuanced, accessible approach to teaching aims to demystify ancient wisdom, balancing the esoteric and the pragmatic. Yoga Nidra rests at the center of her practice, both personally and professionally, as it has been the single most effective tool in navigating her own insomnia and anxiety. Hilary is a founding teacher at The DEN Meditation and a Wanderlust Festival teacher, who has been featured for her work around Yoga Nidra meditation for sleep on numerous platforms, including Good Morning America. Hilary offers corporate meditation & Yoga Nidra sessions for startups and Fortune 500 companies. She leads Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings, Meditation Teacher Trainings, and has a variety of online offerings, including teacher mentorship, and mantra chanting.
