In today's episode, our guest is Frank Kitchen, the "Mindset Master Chef,” who rose from being fired on Father's Day seven years ago to being recognized as one of the top professional speakers in the world. When he was jobless and starting a new endeavor, he dealt with a lot of worry and pressure about how to feed his family, how his parents would react, how his in-laws would react, and whether he would succeed. He had no choice but to make it happen, so he went into the proverbial kitchen and started cooking. It turns out he didn't have to worry about what his family thought because they were right behind him, supporting him on his new path. This fueled him, even more to take action and go after his goal. Frank recommends reaching out to people you look up to, or people who you see are succeeding where you're struggling to ask them for advice and learn from them. He shared a story about his mom, who summoned the courage to talk to a personality that she looked up to after he coaxed her into going up to her. It turned out that was her last chance because the personality died a month later. He stresses that we should take the chance when we can because there might not be another opportunity.Frank emphasizes the importance of getting out of our comfort zone and doing something about our dreams. He highlights what he learned from his mom, who was a preschool teacher, that kids don't take no for an answer, which is why they grow so much, and as adults, we should take inspiration from this tenacity.Who is Frank Kitchen?Frank Kitchen is a husband, father of two lovely children, keynote speaker, public speaker, and one of the world's top Professional Speakers in 2022 (awarded by the National Speakers Association). With the help of his family and friends, he transformed the ultimate "burnt meal" into a tasty 5-Star Masterpiece using the skills he learned as a student leader, store manager, salesperson, educator, entertainer, and event planner. He has been invited to share his tried-and-true recipe for fostering career advancement, healthy workplace culture, and productivity with schools, universities/colleges, professional associations, nonprofits, corporations, and civic groups all over the world.Frank puts his lessons into practice even when he is not speaking. Trick or Treat? No, I'm not confused on what month it is. But you'll thank me for this sweet treat you're going to receive! Frank Kitchen "The Life and Leadership Connoisseur." Frank educates, elevates and empowers people to "Live FRESH" by being difference makers and life changers who create positive and productive cultures through effective Leadership, Teamwork and Communication. Frank has worked with major corporations, colleges and universities, schools, professional associations, conventions, and Non-Profits in the United States, Australia and Canada. In this episode, Frank Kitchen dishes all (pun intended). He shares the 4 R's to a "sweet" organization and it's not treating your employees to Raisinettes, Red Hots, Reese's or Rolo's. He's answering the questions: Why do you think so many companies miss the mark of retaining top talent? What do people want and crave for in organizations? What can HR personnel and executive leadership to be more innovative and imaginative in their recruitment and retention efforts? What works and what doesn't when it comes to rewarding people for the work they do? Trick or Treat?!
