Are you sitting on property wealth but unsure how to use it or pass it on efficiently? In this episode, we're joined by Greg May to break down lifetime mortgages in simple terms and what they are, how they work, and who they're really for. We explore how property owners can access equity without selling, the impact on inheritance, and why lifetime mortgages are increasingly being used as part of estate planning strategies. We also dive into inheritance tax (IHT), why more families could be affected in the coming years, and how property wealth plays a major role in that. In this episode, we cover: What a lifetime mortgage actually is How equity release works in practice The pros and cons for property owners How interest rolls up over time The impact on inheritance and beneficiaries Using lifetime mortgages for inheritance tax planning Why more estates could face IHT in the future What property owners should be thinking about now Whether you're planning ahead, supporting family, or simply want to understand your options, this episode will give you a clear and practical overview. The final weekly edition of the PodKaz for the 2025-26 season has hosts Nicole Haase and Todd Milewski from USCHO.com reflecting on the Frozen Four.Wisconsin took home its second straight NCAA championship by beating Ohio State 3-2 in Sunday's championship game. Is having the Badgers and the Buckeyes play for the title four years in a row a good sign, though?Friday's semifinal attendance of 5,176 set a Frozen Four record, with Penn State fans making it a wonderful atmosphere for the Nittany Lions' first Frozen Four appearance. Then we look back on more of what we saw in State College, including a packed crowd for the Patty Kazmaier Award ceremony. We finish with thoughts on the coaching change at Minnesota, where Brad Frost is out after 19 seasons and four NCAA titles. Greg May is the new leader of the Gophers. And Merrimack made a big splash by hiring Courtney Kennedy as its new coach. The PodKaz is a production of USCHO.com. Have a question for us? Reach out to Nicole (@NicoleHaase) or Todd (@ToddMilewski) on social media or email todd.milewski@uscho.com.
Brad Frost is still coming to terms with being dismissed by the U of M last week. He joined Vineeta to look back his run with the Gophers and having an assistant coach replace him, leading the Gophers.

Introduction: Host Michael Rand starts with the Gophers hockey vacancies. The women's job has been filled by in-house candidate Greg May. Candidates for the men's job might not have the same profile that fans would want. What does that mean about the searches and the jobs themselves? 12:00: Chip Scoggins joins Rand to talk mainly about the Sweet 16-bound Gophers women's basketball team. Plus some Wolves thoughts as well. 35:00: Can there be joy watching the Twins this year?

'With this mix, I wanted to combine tracks that have drawn me in over the past few months, a few older mainstays in my collection and a couple of my own that seemed to fit the mood. To begin, I wanted to create a feeling of the anticipation that I associate with early summer, and then decided to go a bit more bass driven and euphoric as things progressed! I had loads of fun putting this together and I hope that you like it! London based Producer and DJ Memphis Glass is inspired by exploring interesting spaces between house, techno and bass music. Since his debut ‘Orange Circles' EP on SITU Records in 2021, he has been steadily building a reputation for his deep sound that balances sweet melancholic melodies with driving drums and enveloping basslines. Remixes for both DJ Panthr and Greg May and his 2nd EP ‘Mechanics' released on Finland based imprint Mood Of The Era have seen him establish a signature sound that makes his productions stand out as distinctly his own. I had an EP ‘Mechanics' out on Mood Of The Era at the end of last year followed by a track called ‘Look Ahead' in March on a new label called Rooms Inc. I have another EP out later this year plus a single on a VA and a couple of remixes. Love, Memphis Glass' https://soundcloud.com/memphisglass

On September 14, 2023, Greg May discussed his eye-opening new book, A Madman's Will: John Randolph, Four Hundred Slaves, and the Mirage of Freedom, about a sensational antebellum Virginia will that freed almost 400 people from slavery. John Randolph of Roanoke—one of Virginia's best-known statesmen—was a relentless defender of the slave states' rights, so his deathbed declaration that he wanted to free the people he enslaved took nearly everyone by surprise. But it soon emerged that Randolph had left inconsistently written wills. His lifetime of eccentric behavior gave his heirs ample room to claim that none of Randolph's wills was valid because he had been mad. The resulting litigation took twelve years. It gives us vivid insights into the intimate lives of antebellum Virginians and a wholly unexpected look at how Virginia's courts dealt with questions concerning slavery. Although the courts ultimately upheld the will that freed Randolph's slaves, the story does not have a happy ending. Virginia law required the new freedmen to leave the state, and before they could settle 3000 acres purchased for them in western Ohio, a mob of angry white farmers drove them away. Gregory May is a historian who writes about the early American republic. He graduated from William and Mary and Harvard Law School, clerked for Justice Powell on the United States Supreme Court, and then practiced law for thirty years. He is the author of Jefferson's Treasure, a political biography of Treasury Secretary Albert Gallatin. The content and opinions expressed in these presentations are solely those of the speaker and not necessarily of the Virginia Museum of History & Culture.

Production, recording and post production completed by Holly who has asked Consulting Producer Craig for a crash helmet for all further recordings. Holly edited this week. All complaints should be sent directly to Mel while Consulting Producer Craig tries to explain to Holly that the helmet won't help the bigger issues at play. www.whichmurderer.comWARNING - Explicit language, content and themes (plus whatever else will cover us legally). Bassist Greg May forteller Jernverket om kultklassikerne "Legions of the Dead" og "Too Late to Pray", da grungen (heldigvis) sørget for hårmetallens død, James Hetfields dametrøbbel, piss på Gatorade-flasker og et skuelystent Slayer. Greg May signed up as a rookie for the 24 Hours of Exposure at the heckling of his friends. But as he stood on the start line he felt under prepared, under biked, and overweight. "Probably not the thought you want before your first 24 hour mountain bike race." Though Greg wanted to finish, he'd also needed a distraction from writing his Ph.D. thesis. Laps spun to hours, and Greg found that pushing his body stopped the whir of thoughts. As he nerared the finish line, he wondered whether his body could finish what he had started.
