In this Movie-Go-Round Netflix Roulette, the Netflix wheel threw us another original, the entertaining but annoyingly named I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore. Melanie Lynskey plays a worn-out 30-something nurse who teams up with her odd neighbor, Tony (an unexpected but delightfully against-type Elijah Wood) to recover her stolen possessions. When she traces the thieves, the two are sucked in over their heads. Did our crew enjoy this startlingly violent indie? Did Lynskey successfully carry this film? Can Elijah Wood please be cast as a weirdo in all the things? Join David, Brett, and Nicole to find out!Want to easily find links to everything we talk about at the end of the program? In this New to Two, David brought along The Informant! The premise sounds boring: There's corruption in the lysine industry, and the government takes years to investigate it. But this comedy plays with performances and expectations, and just when you think you know where it's going, you get a revelation that changes everything. This entry was new to Brett and Nicole; so what did everyone think? How was Matt Damon in the lead? What's with this soundtrack? Is this story too weird to be true? The 1977 infection-on-a-train movie The Cassandra Crossing was an international affair fraught with potential pitfalls.  Funded with British, Italian, and West German money, the movie shot in Italy, France and Switzerland and managed to avoid attempts to shut it down by vandals and the Italian government.  Also in the mix was that producer Carlo Ponti was married to the film's leading lady Sophia Loren and star Richard Harris was married to then pregnant co-star Ann Turkel. Despite a cast that also included Ava Gardner, Burt Lancaster, Martin Sheen, OJ Simpson, Alida Valli and Lee Strasberg, The Cassandra Crossing would ultimately be brought down by bad reviews and even worse US box office receipts.   Dan and Vicky bask in this lovable, wacky disaster film from the 70's and it's equally bonkers cast with a raucous discussion punctuated by audio clips from the film and one truly bad Ann Turkel croaked theme song!  In between the laughs, they give their thoughts on some recently seen including 1981's Dead and Buried, Marjorie Prime, Happy Death Day, Strangers: Prey at Night, The Skinny, The Red Shoes, and I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore.   Hot Date is going viral with Episode 67:  The Cassandra Crossing!  Enjoy and leave us some feedback.

To help discuss the long-running franchise, Kyle and Matthew are joined by Jacob Davison and Ken Carr, Kyle's teammates from Dead Right Horror Trivia and lifelong fans of the series. They begin by breaking down the world of survival horror games before RE, including some talk about the NES gem Sweet Home, which heavily influenced the first game. They talk tank controls. They talk fixed camera angles. They ponder what product or service the evil Umbrella Corporation actually sold that made them so much money. They work their way through the series, talking about which games made the most impact on them. They chat about their favorite monsters in the series. Plus, they break down the shift in gameplay style between the classic RE games and Resident Evil 4. RE4 might be a masterpiece, but it also led to some dark times for the franchise. This week, Teo and Rachel talk to the fabulous Melanie Lynskey. Melanie's in the new movie "I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore", an eccentric crime-thriller-cum-dark-existential-comedy (just watch it) that won Sundance's Grand Jury Prize and premiered on Netflix last week. We talk to Melanie about the film, why she's such a consistently calming presence in indie cinema, how she sometimes feels "invisible" as a woman over 30 in Hollywood, and how she keeps herself from disappearing into her consistently morose characters. Later, we play a game with Melanie called "Trivia About Yourself," in which we quiz her about her 20-plus years of incredible movies.

"Happy Sad Confused" (in the person of Josh Horowitz) has hit the road this week to take you to the Sundance Film Festival. So don't worry about scoring a ticket or trekking to Utah we've got you covered with three conversations straight from the historic launching pad of indie films. First up, it's Woody Harrelson, who memorably plays the title character in the Daniel Clowes adaptation, "Wilson". But we couldn't let Woody go without talking a little Star Wars (he was recently cast in the forthcoming Han Solo film). Josh finds out if Woody knows what kessel run is and discovers why the actor stays away from urinals at all costs.  Surprisingly Star Wars was also on the mind of Jack Black in this episode (find out how he ranks all the films here). Black made a triumphant return to Park City, starring in the hilarious fact based comedy, "The Polka King". Finally, we welcome two newcomers to the show but they're veterans of Sundance, Melanie Lynskey and Elijah Wood. Josh chats with the pair about their new black comedy for Netflix, "I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore". Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
