We've run out of Clint Eastwood movies that fit our weird criteria, and now we're gonna talk about what we've learned from this whole endeavor. Where we are on Clint, on the auteur theory, on thinking about film, on thinking about political art, on each other, on the prospect of ever doing anything - it's all here for your inspection, dear listener. Oh and also we reveal what we're doing next! We're very excited about it and we hope you will be, too. Here's a hint: I'm going to start reading the Bible. We can't thank you all enough for joining us through the Clint Eastwood ouvre. Your support, however worrisome to your friends and family, has meant a ton to us. We set out to make a podcast that we'd like to listen to, and it turned out that whatever's wrong with us has been afflicting other people too. Thank you to all the friends we've made through doing the show, thank you to the brave listeners who simply download episodes and leave us alone about it, thank you to the folks who support us on Patreon, thank you to the clearly more mentally stable folks who don't do that, and thank you to the handful of dangerous freaks who send us too many emails. We love you all. We'd also like to say a huge thank you to all the unbelievable guests who have joined us over the past year and change. You made us feel like real boys and you made the show a lot better, too. I am the captain of my freaking PODCAST, more like! This week we're talking Clint Eastwood's 2009 true-story South African rugby drama INVICTUS, and Jake's other friend Ian - Ian Green - is joining the scrum! You might call this episode "IANVICTUS" if you weren't concerned about SEO or whatever!!! We're talking accents, sports movies, Nelson Mandela's legacy, the bad music, whether Clint really wanted to make this movie, and more. Plus, a quiz segment that goes perfectly, no issues at all with the quiz segment. Check it out, okes! Hope that's OK to say, not at all confident. Topics include: Ian Green's experiences attending pro rugby games, who we'd want to play us in a movie, Jake takes a few swings at an Afrikaner accent, historical context missing from the film, connections to modern apartheid in Palestine, whether this should just have been a documentary, and we talk about the "Mandela effect" for like five seconds because that's all it deserves. A new audit from the Oregon Secretary of State’s office found that the current healthcare structure for Medicaid pharmacy benefit managers lacks transparency and is too complex to properly measure its value. Pharmacy benefit managers are the go-between for drug manufacturers and wholesalers. They are responsible for paying and processing prescription drug claims, creating preferred drug lists, negotiating on behalf of pharmacies and more. Ian Green is the audit manager for the Secretary of State's audits division. He joins us to share more on what his office found and the changes they’re recommending.
Little oversight, a disorganized office and an uncertain future are just a few issues plaguing the Oregon Racing Commission, a state audit finds. The agency, which oversees animal racing in the state, generates little state revenue compared to the Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission and the Oregon Lottery. Ian Green is the audit manager with the Oregon Secretary of State’s Audits Division. He joins us to share his team's findings.

in this episode of Shipped Across the Border, we share the story of Ian Green, a highly talented high school basketball player who lacked the motivation to put in the effort in the classroom. As a result, Ian decided to enroll in a junior college, a decision he believed would provide him with an easy ride to success. However, upon arrival, Ian quickly realized that he had made a grave mistake. The level of competition was far above what he had experienced in high school, and he was quickly outmatched on the court. Ian had to come to terms with the fact that he was not prepared for this level of basketball, and that he would need to work much harder than he ever had before if he hoped to succeed. Join us as we explore the inspiring journey of Ian Green, a talented young basketball player who overcame adversity to find success on the court, and learn valuable lessons about the importance of putting in the work, even when the going gets tough.

Historically, women and people of color have earned lower wages than their white or male co-workers. Years later, a report from Oregon's audit division found that wage gaps in government positions still remain. Ian Green is an audit manager for the Oregon Secretary of State audits division. Jennifer Freyd is a professor emerit of psychology at the University of Oregon. They join us with details of the report and how persistent pay disparities affect employees.

How do you move from 'table 6', the table at the back of the classroom for the lowest achievers, to being recognised in the New Year Honours List for "services to apprenticeships and STEM education"?Listen to the latest episode of Designed for Life, and you will find out! Ian Green is currently Learning Specialist at British Volt and a Professor of Practice at Newcastle University. These roles follow thirty years as Head of Global Training for Nissan. As part of his work, Ian set up one of the most impactful Industry/education programmes in the UK, positively impacting over 70,000 students. Ian's primary school experience left him woefully lacking skill and confidence in mathematics. He was delivered a timetable that included art every day, "I still can't draw", and maths only once every two weeks. In secondary school, Ian realised the value of a good teacher as his maths teacher took the time to explain problems and mathematical solutions differently. He made progress fast, leaving school with eleven GCEs and a CSE Grade 1 in mathematics. Ian moved onto an engineering degree programme and progressed rapidly as his newfound thirst for knowledge served him well. A major car crash changed his direction as his recovery was slow, and he realised he could no longer stay on his feet all day. A shift to Training and a Masters in HR followed as he side-stepped into his new career. The outreach programme he started at Nissan has grown from small beginnings to a comprehensive offer from the Japanese manufacturer to education in the North East. Ian nurtured this programme from vision to the entity that it is today. Ian left Nissan earlier this year, and good people aren't allowed to retire, as he was swiftly picked up to work with British Volt. The possibility of helping build a major engineering project from scratch was too good to turn down. At the same time, Ian is completing his professional Doctorate as he explores ways to make engineering more attractive to young women. This was a fantastic conversation with an engineer with a brilliant tale; I know you will love it!This podcast has been recorded with the help of our sponsors, The Edge Foundation https://www.edge.co.uk/ inspiring the education system to give all young people across the UK the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to flourish in their future life and work, and PTC Onshape Providing industry-standard cloud-based CAD to education https://www.ptc.com/en/news/2020/ptc-onshape-education-enterprise-plan-available-free-of-chargeWe are indebted to The Edge and PTC Onshape for their continued support.

When we understand God's purpose for the the believer, we get to understand God's design for them. A powerful message from Ian Green.
Today's episode of Verde & Black is a very special one because, for the first time, we are going to widen our lens to include the whole city of Austin in all its cultural diversity! You can look forward to future episodes like this but, for our first installment, we're talking to Nané, a high-energy six-piece indie rock outfit from our very own ATX. We have used their music in some of our broadcasts and marketing campaigns and, for this episode, we had the opportunity to sit down and speak with lead singer, Daniel Sahad, and guitarist, Ian Green, about the origins of the band, how it is influenced by the unique and diverse energy of the city of Austin, and the common thread that runs throughout all their music, as well as the seemingly organic connections between music and soccer. All this and more in the first installment of Verde & Black's cultural segments on the city of Austin, so make sure to tune in today.

We try to systematize and automate processes in real estate, but at the end of the day, it all depends on the local market. That's why it's vital to ask around and pay attention to local case studies so you can see what you're dealing with. Chris Seveney and Jamie Bateman's guest today is Ian Green, who once did some joint ventures with Chris before going on his own. In this episode, you'll get to hear Ian's cool case studies in Florida. Chris shares his experiences with Florida assets, especially in the rehabilitation of the moldy house in Pinellas Park, how he works with his partners, and why going the conservative route is often the safer option to take.Love the show? Together with American Songwriter and Sean Ulbs of The Eiffels, we had the pleasure of interviewing Nané over Zoom video! Nané is a high-energy six-piece outfit from Austin, TX who caught the attention of Brittany Howard in June 2020 with their “Blue Velvet” music video. Howard selected them as one of her five picks for this year’s NPR Tiny Desk Contest, commenting on the groove while giving major props to lead singer Daniel Sahad who she applauded for his “no holds barred” performance.Sahad hails from the Dominican Republic. His grandparents are respectively Black, White, Latino and Arab (Lebanese). An offspring of globalism, Daniel comes from a lineage of courageous individuals who broke barriers to pursue their dreams. Called Nané as a term of endearment by his family in the Dominican Republic, Sahad determined the band’s name with a communal approach in mind – when you call him Nané, you’re family too.Nané (the band) came together in 2016 at The University of Texas at Austin where Daniel and guitarist, Ian Green, would drink and play cover songs for their friends. The pair quickly realized their potential to write original music together. The boys added bass player Scott McIntyre to the lineup and began writing their debut album while performing with Dayglow drummer, Brady Knippa, and Black Pumas keyboardist, JaRon Marshall. Nané rose quickly on the Austin music scene, playing a series of sold-out shows in front of the shimmering curtains of Stay Gold. In their first year as a band, Nané has headlined for crowds of over 1,000 people, as well as opened shows for Black Pumas, Bob Schneider, Eric Tessmer and Sir Woman. They also spent time in the studio recording their debut record with Grammy-award winning drummer, John Speice IV, on production and Adrian Quesada of the Black Pumas engineering and mixing. Their debut album was released on November 13, 2020!We want to hear from you! How do you communicate with your friends? Do you get caught up in their issues and hurts? How well do you love others, especially when they are hard to love? We live in a world where people are often angry and would rather curse than bless. Having Christ in us, allows us to look beyond the wounds and draw out the best in others. We can influence our environment by being the light and hope of Jesus to those around us.
