And his music gives a natural sense of roots for those who need it most because he is among the few artists making music in Nashville today to have lived in three of America's most musically sacred places. Bandi is proud to follow in the lineage of legendary musicians from his native St. Louis. He was raised on his father's taste in obscure rock with a heavy dose of his mother's affinity for '90s country music. He remembers CDs being on the grocery list as a child and browsing the aisles of the city's many great record shops. The soundtrack riding with friends to high school football practice was a mix of Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and fellow St. Louisan, Nelly. However, performance became life after attending his first concert where he saw Garth Brooks fly over the audience in a harness at St. Louis' Enterprise Center. In high school, he started his first band, a rock outfit that played throughout the city, including the iconic Duck Room at Chuck Berry's Blueberry Hill. He continued music in college at the University of Mississippi at Oxford by playing in a cover band with an alternative ambition to mostly get into bars and drink for free. It was his time in Mississippi that enriched a deeper dive into country music. The songs of early Luke Bryan and Eric Church spoke to the life he was living at the time. He honed his craft relentlessly playing the same small clubs that built Bryan and Church's loyal followings in college towns within a reasonable driving distance of Oxford Six days after receiving his degree in marketing and communications in 2013, he moved to Nashville to become a professional musician. He arrived with 100 original songs, and his first place was a friend's closet, where he slept on an air mattress. In his first few years in Music City, he got by on the money he made going back to play gigs in Oxford and St. Louis on the weekends. During the week, he treated Nashville writers' rounds and open mic nights as if they were their own tour, and he played constantly. London born and raised Genevieve Fisher has earned 9 top 50 hits on both Billboard's BDS and Mediabase Canadian National Country Charts. While 2021 has been challenging for many artists, Genevieve achieved the most consecutive weeks on the national chart of her career during 2021. Her name entered onto the top 40, starting with the David James duet “Then There's You”. This was immediately followed by her own solo top 40 hit “Playing Favourites”. It was also the first time that her name appeared in the top 40 with two different songs at the same time. Genevieve has earned recognition within the Canadian Country Music scene by earning 6 Female Artist of the Year nominations as we well as numerous nominations for Single of the Year and Songwriter of the Year at the Country Music Association of Ontario Music Awards. While still in her teens, the Canadian Country Music Association recognized Genevieve's emerging talent with her CCMA performance selection at the 2012 New Artist Showcase in Saskatoon. Her songwriting skills continue to be acknowledged by the CCMA as witnessed by her selection to perform for the prestigious Songwriters Series in 2016 and 2018. Jason Massey of the Detecting for Veterans charity joins us for another fantastic ahow

The story behind this was inspired by a real life experience for Genevieve. The message is one that so many are able to relate to."I had just performed at a show in my hometown which I found to be disappointing in terms of lack of support. I quickly began second guessing myself and started second guessing so much of what I was doing. Coincidentally I had already arranged some writing sessions in Nashville with my flight leaving the following day. As I always do, I started to come up with some song ideas. In this case, I specifically started to focus on how I was feeling following that previous night. I vividly remember thinking that I needed to write a song to pick myself back up and get me back on track. I needed to write a song for me. I was drawing from my own emotions. This was one case where I was the inspiration behind this song.I walked into my write with Karen Kosowski and Emma-Lee feeling lost and defeated. I told them I had a title in mind: “Someone Else” - essentially saying that if you could see yourself through the eyes of someone else, that you could see your potential and beauty. I know I’m not alone in this. So often, we can be our our own worst critic. While you would never think of telling someone that they’re not good enough, or pretty enough, or strong enough, we seem to find it easy to think of ourselves in these terms. Sometimes we just need that reminder, to step back, take a deep breath, and try to see yourself through the eyes of Someone Else."Genevieve co-wrote Someone Else with Karen Kosowski and Emma-Lee. The track was recorded in Nashville in late February of 2020. It looked like he had been shot but unlike the girl, his body was intact. The boy had a wallet in his pants and a library card let authorities know his name James Bryan King. The two teens were brutally murdered by a suspect who was supposed to be their friend.
