La band lodigiana si prepara a due date in Sardegna con un doppio singolo dalle atmosfere shoegaze e cinematiche, tra introspezione, sperimentazione e omaggi a Fellini. Il dream pop italiano si tinge di riflessi cinematografici e sbarca in Sardegna con due date cariche di atmosfera. I Six Impossible Things, band lodigiana attiva dal 2017, saranno protagonisti il 5 giugno a Iglesias presso La Cantina degli Spiriti, e il 7 giugno al Cousinà di Cagliari, in un mini-tour isolano che promette emozioni sospese tra malinconia, riverberi e architetture post-rock. L'occasione è il lancio del nuovo doppio singolo "Eight and a Half / Nevermore", pubblicato dall'etichetta Dear Gear Records, primo tassello di un percorso che porterà all'uscita dell'atteso album d'esordio full length. Il brano “Eight and a Half”, già disponibile su Spotify e YouTube, prende il nome dall'omonimo film di Federico Fellini e ne richiama le atmosfere oniriche e riflessive. Registrato con Daniele Mandelli e mixato da Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Messa, Glazyhaze), il singolo segna un punto di svolta per la formazione, che dopo anni di attività come duo ha scelto un suono più corposo e collettivo. Le chitarre avvolgenti, il piano evocativo e l'assenza di un vero e proprio ritornello contribuiscono a creare una struttura fluida e sperimentale, che mantiene però intatta l'identità intimista che ha sempre contraddistinto la band. The project, funded by a $1.25 million grant and $3.5 million loan from the State Road and Tollway Authority, added two travel lanes, sidewalks, and pedestrian lighting, enhancing connectivity and safety. David Cassell from the State Road and Tollway Authority highlighted the importance of partnerships in saving taxpayer money and improving mobility. STORY 2: Child With Terminal Illness Receives Adaptive Bike From Atlanta Radio Station A toddler diagnosed with a rare terminal illness, CLN1 disease, received an adaptive bicycle from Atlanta radio station 104.7 The Fish. Gracie Fawcett, 18 months old, was presented with the bike at In Harmony Pediatric Therapy. Gracie's parents described the devastating impact of the disease, which causes developmental delays, seizures, and progressive vision loss, ultimately leading to death in childhood. The adaptive bike, funded by The Fish and built by Freedom Concepts, aims to provide Gracie with mobility and joy amidst her health challenges. The emotional reveal brought comfort to her parents, who prioritize keeping Gracie comfortable amid her pain. The bike, costing $4,000 to $5,000, offers Gracie moments of happiness and freedom. STORY 3: Northside Hospital offering newly-approved melanoma therapy treatment Northside Hospital is pioneering a new T-cell therapy, AMTAGVI, for melanoma patients, making it the first hospital system in Georgia to offer this treatment. Approved by the FDA in February, AMTAGVI offers hope to those with unresectable and metastatic melanoma, providing a promising alternative for patients who have failed existing immunotherapies. This therapy involves isolating immune TIL cells from the patient's tumor, growing them in a lab, and reintroducing them into the patient to target and destroy cancer cells. With nearly 3,500 new melanoma cases expected in Georgia this year, Northside aims to address the challenges of treatment resistance and improve overall survival rates for patients. We wrap it up with Erin's somewhat annual Outside Lands jaunt peppered with beignet's, bounce, and her new obsession - The Foo Fighters (specifically Dave Grohl). This recording took place at one of our favorite bars in San Francisco, Zam Zam - which has a real jukebox filled with music by Nina Simone, Bill Withers, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Dr. John and so many more great musicians. The Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT (including Gran Fiesta Tour and its predecessor, El Rio Del Tiempo) is full of authentic details that speak to the culture, history, music and cuisine of Mexico. Opening in 1982 with the park, the pavilion now features two table-service restaurants (San Angel Inn Restaurant and La Hacienda de San Angel), a quick-service restaurant (La Cantina de San Angel), a lounge and tequila bar (La Cava del Tequila), an outdoor beverage stand (Choza de Margarita), a main attraction (Gran Fiesta Tour), live music (Mariachi Cobra), and shopping.
